Don’t forget that while both of them are physically children, both of them are mentally adults. It’s kinda weird but fairly wholesome for their show.
I mean I think it's just plain creepy, a man is attracted to a woman who looks like she's a child, then he steals someone's DNA of someone that she has interest in so that he looks attractive to her, then ages himself down so that if they both look like children it's somehow okay? Like he's still attracted to someone who looks like a child... And did a lot of dodgy stuff to look like one as well as if that makes it okay.

@@yacuyo6493 hmm well yeah, but being stuck in her situation wasn't something that she asked for, he made himself look like a kid for her, plus if you were her you'd probably just take what you could get at that point, you're only going to get younger and younger and I think that at one point she even says herself that she's aware that if anyone likes her then they're a creep but she has to accept that. :/ and there are similar cases IRL where a woman who's in her 20's looks 7 but if you can look at her in a... Type of way, like that's just wrong. You should look at what looks like a child and still see a child. People have said a lot of negative things about Rex as well saying that he has flirted with her and the excuse is 'my waifu is 2000 but she looks 5' attitude. But then they think it's fine when Rudy does it? I can't wrap my head around that

They're probably fleshing it out so the impact hits harder. Like Mark was more pissed at his dad when he saw him again to make it more impactful that he still sided with him and took Oliver in.

I like the angle they’re taking with Rudy.
The “ambitious problem-solver” is exactly the sort of drive I’d expect of him…even if it oppressively shadows his empathy, morality & compassion.
Fun fact but Robot does end up fixing her problem. He makes a belt that records her current age and dna so that when she transforms back into human form it no longer makes her younger but returns her to the current age when she transformed.
Good let's hope that's only thing from comics they keep

"I fix problems!" The core of his characterization, especially after (if this follows the comics) he and Amanda end up on a life-changing trip. If he's not solving problems and taking command, he feels unfulfilled. It gets pretty messed up.
At least there's less ick when you know while Robot is actually a man in his 30's, Monster Girl is actually a girl in her 20's, and neither of them are actually children.

I think she's been very patient. When you have so much stuff going on in your life, sometimes you just want to do something else, talk about literally anything else. To be around someone who refuses to drop it becomes exhausting.

The did the writers feel like they needed to move Amber's unreasonable standards and reactions to really good intentions to Monster Girl?
At least she couldn't withhold the knowledge of Robot being a hero to make him feel guilty about missing dates, but isolating someone who genuinely wants to save your life is also kind of a weird flex.
I am legit hoping this version of the story changes more and more. They've changd plenty and recontextualized plenty so far in the show.

Well for a long time they did until they uh didn't.
This definitely feels like one of those relationships that *should* give me creepy vibes, but it really doesn't. It's odd, because everything still technically works out. (just read a comment about both of them being the same physical and mental age so I don't need to say anything more) The other thing to consider in the show is that you have to treat everyone we see as *more than human.* Rudy is... _trying_ not to make excuses for himself as he states his case in the scene, he knows all the wrong is on him in this situation, and he wants to make amends. But his difficulties are legitimate. He's had mere months, maybe weeks of actual human existence - for most of his life he was literally a big brain in a vat (hehe), and in attempting to route the best way through that he STILL doesn't solve that issue of his. That radically scientific approach to humaning is going to be a drastic problem down the line.
What a cute couple. I'm sure they'll become well-adjusted members of society and have a stable and loving relationship with no problems whatsoever.

@@JONMANBOI Thank you. I understand Rudy being stupid, but he lived in a tube his whole life. Amanda knows how to interact with people. She was unnecessarily mean to him when she could have just said this from the beginning. If he continued, then she could snap at him, but she just kept snapping without really explaining why she was mad. Cursed and broken are the same words to Rudy. She should know better.

You It's weird because they are the same age both mentally and phisically but if you really think about they are both lusting after someone that looks wayyy younger than them... so best not to think about it
I feel he doesn't have anything to apologize. He's going out of his way to help her and she's doing nothing to fix it
It's a curse, she literally can't do anything about it, and he's being creepy about it and treating her like she's just a problem to solve. No one likes being treated like less than a person, no matter how helpful the intentions are. It's not like she dislikes him, or doesn't appreciate what he's doing, but that doesn't mean she's not allowed boundaries about it when he's acting obsessed.
I can understand both, he just wants to help and do whatever it takes but sucks at social interactions and remembering to be a team player, but she wants to be considered and recognized during the process, besides that she doesn't want it to dominate her life anymore than it already has...it IS her problem after all, it'd be kind of cheap to not bring up any news you may find and discuss it with her or to make her feel any worse about it than she already does.

I have to be honest, I straight up just didn’t like this plot line between monster girl and Rudy. This whole thing between them just felt completely pointless and like filler and it really just never needed to exist at all because it changes absolutely nothing in the story really
