As an electrician of 38 years I have owned and used all of those . They are Romex knives for removing outer sheathing from Romex wire. The edge retention on those knives were terrible. A razor knife is more proficient at removing insulation from wire. All of my knives except for one ended up in the landfill after retiring.
Very good video! I also have a few electricians' knives, and you are right, they are very robust built knives. The custom work on your carry knife looks great! Happy Holidays to you and your family!!
Arggh...I love modifying knives, never considered the Electrician. I havevm passed up Electricians knives when antique malling because I already had it....wow...going back you have inspired Me on these. Great video my friend. Have you tried modding opinels....no end to what you can do with em. Merry Christmas to you and the Family. Prosperous 2025. Be safe
@@2ndchancegeorge Thanks, and I hope you and yours have a Merry Christmas as well! I didn't think about them either until I saw some other guys churn out some real beauties! I have an Opinel that I started modding, but never finished.

I have an electricians knife from a company that doesn't exist from the town that my grandpa used to live in when he was alive. We also used to have a gravity box that was built in that town also.
@southernknifehobbyist Rich's Ag Service Inc Manllius, IL for the knife can't remember the name of the gravity box company. Wasn't around when I was in high school.
I have a M. Kline & sons 3 blade knife with a spear point, screwdriver, and a wire stripper blade.. Date stamp is an "H" ... Let me know if you want it...
I have about 20 electrician knives, own of my favorite handy and sturdy knives. Be safe and GOD BLESS AMERICA 🇺🇸 🙏 and have a merry Christmas.

I find TL-29s in unused condition at antique shops all the time. Most of the time they're Camillus or Klein.

It says Colonial, Prov USA on one blade and the other blade is a screwdriver that has a blade that has been made with a grinder that isn't very sharp
Wow very interesting. Amazing at the possibilities these knives have you’ve inspired me to look at the electrician knife a little more. Thanks
Thank you for watching!
I have a few I'm more fond of camillus electricians knives. Very nice handy classic knives.
Agreed!
I like keeping them in the way they were made, unless they are in terrible shape. MERRY CHRISTMAS
I love this pattern. I have about 15 of them. I think 5 different brands

@@cliffordmaynard6559 Sweet! They are handy knives!
I just picked up one stamped Western Boulder Colorado. Only the second one I've ever seen, I would assume Camillus probably made it
@@r1ckgr1m3s8 I see few Western knives here in the SouthEast, and tend to pick up every one that I find cheap!
