10/10.
For random curious people: orcs and others are from the mod based on Warcraft setting.
"I wanted to play the game until I saw how much DLC you need to make it minimally functional"
Welcome to the wonderful world of Paradox Interactive
Just buy the base game and pirate the thousands of dlcs like any sane being
Seriously you can buy a cobsole with the monry youd use for ck2 plus all dlcs
@@astrotecn you don't have to spend a dime the base game is free
@@ryokiritani4187 yeah the base game is also garbage, i have played it.
@@astrotecn G2A my guy
@@JustinJurazick Doesnt excuse the
>make absolute bare minimum game and update it with dlcs adding basic functionality over 2 years to milk people out of their money
I sincerely have no shame to say i buy the base game and pirate the dlcs.
"In another game, I played as the Polish, because I enjoy being abused..."
Kaiser Heinrich IV of the Holy Roman Empire goes brrrrrrrrrrrrr
*screams in kurwa*
sums up the past 200 years pretty well tbf :D
@@huntardhc2286 I was gonna write some "wElL aCkTuAlLy" comment, but you're right. Excluding some brief periods of calm, you get right about 200 years, counting from 1795...
Luckily, ck2’s dlc goes on 75% discounts fairly often. And the base game is free now.
also technically you can pay a monthly subscription for all dlc, then if the game isn't for you (or worth the price) stop paying
I've also discovered pirating the game is a 100% discount.
Im too poor for this shit.
@@cathulionetharn5139 I have a fair few hundred hours in this game and I had no clue that was a thing. Huh, neat.
@@vaspeter2600 its a fairly new thing i think. arround the time ck3 came out.
@@nurgleschosen8145 not suprised a worshipper of the arch enemy is recommending pirating.
Be a good loyalist and just annex a heretic's steam account.
"This is all going to get cut out, it doesn't even exist."
Looks like editing is pretty hard, huh.
Isn't that the joke?
I loled when that happened xD
Crusader Kings, especially with mods, can be an absolute acid trip.
Also, Kelsey seems to be vibing with Sseth's style pretty well, would like to see her react to more of his stuff (as long as you stay away from Evenicle review, that shit is traumatizing).
The Honey Select review would like to have a word with you
I keep forgetting that one and reupping the trauma when I accidentally rewatch it
"it doesn't exist, this never happened"
nice
I loved how that shock changed into smile once sseth said that they didn't had to eat people as black death missed Poland
Kelsey should react to some of SsethTzeenTach's more infamous vids, i.e the Space Station 13, Caves of Qud, Dwarf fortress and Rimworld
They did ss13 and df already
Ah, but they haven't watched Sseth's review of _Evenicle_ yet. :P
@@andreymontag True, but different people give different reactions
or the T-Series video...
Michael and Zack should react to this one too
"This is like civ if all bets were off"
More like Civ but you play The Sims with your civ rulers, and whoever made it was taking crack three times a day.
I think CK2 is still for free (the base version). Btw Orcs only come with mods!
When I played ck2 I remember one of characters dying under mysterious circumstances and then I played his son, who had a confirmed kill under his profile. I was killed by my own son and then Played him
The first time i played ck3 i played as a tribal chief from the north-east who was a fucking beast in combat and was so healthy he lived well into 120-130 years. Once, one of his kids smacked him with a snowball, sadly, my character was a berserker, so he turned the kid to pieces right there and there
I remember one of my first runs I was playing as some random Danish count, with ambitions to become king, and I managed it, but that character wasn't the interesting one, the interesting one is his grandson who reformed the faith, become head of the religion, had the highest martial and dueling skill of anyone on earth, and led viking conquests into chinese held Jerusalem and ultimately put his son on the chinese throne while he ruled over nearly all of europe, also he married his daughter. That man lived to like 80 but he made the most of those years.
@@ryokiritani4187 Was he named Ivan by any chance?
I love these reactions from Kelsey because they are genuine. You can tell she's into videogames and not just pretending for views. You go girl!
the orcs are from a warcraft based mod for the game
i would recommend watching a Long Game Short instead of a full playthrough (those take a long time). "Arumba the Murderer" or something like that maybe
"This didn't happen."
It totally happened.
The base game is free and I believe there is a sale on DLC to Right now.
Dude you guys have totally got to see some of Ymfah's videos, like "Skyrim no walking"
Skyrim no walking is a masterpiece. A true work of art.
Gotta say, I really enjoy the range of people who do these reactions. Everyone's fun to watch!
13:40 "My queen was like a bakery, because, she was getting bred..."
his world-play is 10/10!!!
You guys should react to Seth's review of Starsector
You guys should have someone react to the Templin Institute’s Stellaris Invicta
“Zeen-tach”
*Disgruntled Chaos noises*
Kelsey should react to sseth's rimworld review next! or starsector or endless space 2
Btw, CK3 is out n has all the basic stuff for cheap
Happy 4th! Appreciate you guys.
I'm so glad this is finnaly getting reacted to
Kelsey is by far the best reactor in this series, she has so much eneergy and notices the subtle details in the video.
She missed that all the non human characters were from WoW
It’s so special that she said “ I love that” when there was “crusade on jerusalem “ on the screen
This girl seems genuinly like a fun person ngl
THis is my new favorite video
If you want to see how crazy this game can get I recommend a little series called: Things Crusader King Says or the subreddit r/ShitCrusaderKingsSay
can you react to "DOOM Eternal Review | Alpha Male Gaming | Amogus Edition" by Max0r?
Bumping once more
Was the mention of flavor text a reference to magic the gathering?
Ah yes Crusader Kings : The game that you can massacre your whole family and offer it to satan
it is a history simulators but u can use mods to have things like orcs
You could also react to one of TommyKay's playthroughs, as he got some epic random events (invincibility, spawn of Satan etc.)
I reeealy wish that they don't stop the video at the credits and tell their closing thoughts, while the credits are rolling. Sseth usually does something interesting with his credits, be it memes, music or both.
No there are no orcs (though you could probably mod the game to add them). The game is about you starting a noble dynasty... and basically trying (and often failing) to keep it from falling apart after a few years. Your lineage will be graded once the last living heir has died or you've been stripped of all your land and titles. The game has an absurd tongue-in-cheek sense of humor, and is presented in a mostly historical accurate manner (except the Sunset Invasion DLC, wherein the Aztecs have crossed the Atlantic Ocean and have attempted to conquer Medieval Europe; this DLC has mixed opinions in the community, with most disliking the improbable and frankly surreal shift from other DLCs, which try to maintain
a semblance of reality, essentially 'jumping the shark' or 'straining the willing suspension of disbelief').
Please do Morrowind by SsethTzeentach. It's my favorite game of all time.
Too bad it aged quite awfully, but I’ve yet to try to play it with mods. I spent two weeks of playing to beat it when I was a kid, and felt pretty accomplished when I did. It is a great game. I just wish Skyrim had been a bit morrowindy as far as quests and world building.
@@CChissel I personally still don't understand why people say TES3 aged badly. Though I understand that I'm probably not the usual clientele of the modern gaming landscape anymore. As I've had much more fun with CDDA, DF, SS13 and consorts than with pretty much any commercial game in the last seven or eight years. Though there's been a couple good ones as well. Slay the spire, was pretty good.
Back to TES3.
The mechanics are derived from the P&P sources/inspirations, and still work great if you understand that. All that's missing would be dynamic miss and dodge animations. And those are not even really done in modern real-time action games. In those games just every hit that visually connects mechanically connects. Which I find pretty lazy and boring, honestly. Since it takes away character customization options.
Though I can somewhat understand if people say they don't like the somewhat chance-based combat in a game that at first glance does not reveal such a nature.
In terms of visual prowess the game aged about as bad as any other game from its time. The visual design still stands out to this day, though.
Now, people might be tempted to just chalk that all up to me having rose tinted glasses and nostalgia goggles. And to that I can only say that I first played the game about ten years ago, give or take. And back then I didn't really get too much into it, and probably did not even play it for 30h. It's just in the recent years that I really started getting into it.
And I play vanilla (except for a mod I made to put some more furniture into a house I use). Well, ok. I guess I play vanilla-ish, since I use OpenMW instead of the original engine. But that does not alter gameplay.
Thanks for coming to my TED talk. Blog post end.
@@CChissel i believe there is a skyrim mod that emulates it, never played it though.
You don't "play" a Paradox game. You endure it.
CK2 is wild. When I first played it I tried to do the tutorial to learn how to play but then the first objective the game hits you with is "plot to murder your brother so you can inherit his kingdom" lmao
I know you guys said you were going to edit out that part, but I'm kind of glad you didn't, because even if it is a bit of a slip-up, it's good to know that you guys genuinely care about quality and aren't just one-shotting these for the sake of quantity.
More people should react to this specific video. Loved the girl, but more people need to see this. Crusader Kings is one of the best games I've played.
In several games I end up with the horse Glitterhof in my council.
I remember this one story about this guy who was hosting a tournament in CK2, but hit a bug in that the tournament wouldn't end. He was forced to either sacrifice a noble or risk a peasant revolt, repeatedly.
Eventually he started running out of nobles, so he started invading other territories to "recruit" their nobles before immediately using them for the tournament.
He went through _several_ different crusades and got denounced as Satan by the Pope, all to fuel the bloodthirst of the Eternal Tournament he was hosting.
I love Crusader Kings 2 very fun game
You only need about 12 games. You can get it at a good price frequently. The modding options that comes along give you the value of multiple games anyway.
I think you can get the CK2 Imperial collection (the whole thing) for like 30$ on G2A.
Sseth kenshi pplease react to that please
you should react to stalker review, also made by him. it's mad funny
This game is so much fun. Recommend it to everyone. I learned a lot about history there. It is relativly realistic.
The orcs and orb people are mods for ck2
Also..there is ck3 .. with less dlc as it was released last year
She needs to see space station
You guys are on a roll eh?
You gotta do Kenshi review from Sseth
The game's on sale right now
Also, you don't actually need to buy anything for CK 2 anymore. Base game is now free, and you can now rent all DLCs in one bundle for a very modest (I think it's $5) monthly subscription fee.
Seeing how much you liked CK2, if I were to suggest any series to watch either on here or on your own, I'd say OPB's stuff is very good to showcase the game, especially it's mods, alongside Roll1d20 games (I think he changed his name to Mr. Streamer but eh), both of which have some very fun series. If I were to suggest any specifically, I'd suggest OPB's "Go West, Young Turk" and his "Messalian Madness" series, and I'd suggest Mr. Streamer's "Normal Man" and really any of his AGOT (A game of Thrones) series. In terms of stand-alone videos, I think AlzaboHD would be best both for Ck2 and CK3, especially his horses-only run which took the concept to it's absolute limits if you will.
No, it actually IS a historical game. He just happened to have a Warcraft mod on because this game has a bajillion mods you can play with. If you play Vanilla CK2, the game spans the centuries between 769 to 1453 (which is the year the game ends, mainly because they have another game series that goes through the years after that, Europa Universalis). And, if you play Vanilla, the devs were pretty good at researching the history of those times in many different parts of the world. (Well, mainly Eurasia and Africa. The "new world" hasn't been discovered yet.)
Is Universalis any good? As in, same level of insanity as ck2?
Starsector review next plz
Wanted to give a suggestion, watch welyn, he makes gameplay videos and I don't play most of the games that he does on his channel but I still have a pretty easy time understating everything, all his videos have little stories too
Believe me it's far more fun than the play CK2 then to watch someone play it
The fantasy stuff was mods. The unmodded game is more rooted in history (unless certain DLCs, like, say, Sunset Invasion, are active), although it has some weird stuff going on, like how the game developers apparently decided that Isabella II of Jerusalem's son should be counted as the son of Isabella of England, even though, in real life, their common husband married Isabella of England after Isabella II of Jerusalem died of childbed fever in giving life to said child in the first place...
9:18 "Vidi, vici, veni": I saw, I conquered, I came
Also, just for general education. Paradox doesn't check with their server how you obtained dlc data... You get me...
nice
What's all the talking in the background for?
you know that you live in old city if it's shows up on CK maps...
I’ve 2000+ hours in CK2… no regrets!
anyone want to share there ck2 stories?
hey hey people...
4:05 Yes it's historical but mods exists hahaha
4:07
The orcs where from a mod.
It *is* historical if you stick to vanilla.
Well, sort of...
1:04 this will all get cut out in phase anyway
good reaction from a single person to a complex video
13:17 This is Vaushs favorite game. 😂
god hand / kenshi next please
Horse king is base game I think also if you want to watch some let's plays of ck2 I recommend Long games short channel that edits them in a fun way.
4:00 those are mods
Plot twist:
CK2 is free on Steam.
i remember i once played the witcher mod and payed as skeliga i managed to centralise my rule and raid everyone then i died and my son took over he had great stats but was leading a satanic cult and also liked eating people after awhile it seemed i got more life span from eating captives i took from raids and became immortal and started having demon hunters trying to murder me but i could use a magic knife to make my children die from fatal wounds instead of me so i had children only for extra lives and continued raiding and eating my victim. my rule got so depraved my people tried to rebel but i could easily put these down and then i just got bored and left the story.
ck2 is a great game and might be my favorite game of all time. Ck3 is nice and all, but cannot quite compare to ck2 imo, however I actaully recommend ck3 as a starting point of getting in paradox games. It has a tutorial, which is actually useful and it is quite a bit more forgiving and easy compared to ck2. However at the moment it does not come close to all the crazy shit that goes down in ck2.
ps: in ck2 you can do almost everything by right-clicking character portraits. Dont use the convoluted ui when you can avoid it.
id watch you again lol
The base game is free now, just get it.
Then look through some of the DLC guides to see what you want to add to the game.
Personally I'd take way of life for the flavor it adds and if you want to play someone not available in the base game I'd pick the DLC making that character available.
The culture, religion, start date etc in question.
There's of course s ton of feature you can add with DLCs but few are 100% essential.
If watching a let's play for CKII interests you, a group of RUclipsrs made a succession series, as soon as the player died, they transferred the save file to the next to play as the heir.
I think it was Arumba, it's been a while.
I saw kikoskia play it, it was a great game. I'll look up arumba.
I can just say it's a very good game. I bought it for around 200 euros and I have never regretted it.
Good news, it is now free
The DLC however is not.
Someone should react to HLVRAI (Half-Life VR but the AI is Self-Aware). It's bunch of friends role-playing in Half-Life 1 and giving it completely new story. It's quite long but it's really funny and well made even though it's all improvised!
I'll host the game, you can join and play with the dlc as long as the host has it
nah the orc and all the beast are mod
So the orcs and other shenanigans are from mods, probably to make the images less repetitive. Probably.
can you guys start separating reactors into different playlists please?
Map gamers have escaped are corner of the internet.
Civ with Sims mods lol
Wow. What brothel did YOU crawl out from ?
Chicago React team, please. Hear me out. If she wants to play this game, buy her Crusader King 3. The U.I is much easier to get into and when she really wants to get into the whole chaotic experience, and if she's got the cash, then get Crusader King 2.
