Tip for waistbands and leg cuffs... Look up the "hot ham" method! It's a game changer. It eliminates the need to fold wrong sides together and lining up seams before pinning/ clipping!
I love the skirted bummies. It usually takes me at least making the SAME pattern 3 times before I am comfortable with it. It is good that you showed the first time making the skirted bummies with mistakes and all because I think that it shows it is ok not to be perfect the first time you do something. Thank you for the video. I will be making my grand-niece (first girl in that generation) some skirted bummies. Wish I lived close to someone who also sewed so that we could wholesale order and share fabric.
Quick tip for the skirt ruffle, instead of cutting 2 and sewing together. Fold the fabric into 4's and place each edge of pattern on the folds, you get one circular cut. I hope that makes sense. It looks and flows so much better👍🏻
When I was cutting them out I was sooo confused on why there would be two pieces. I will be trying your way for sure! Seems way easier and one less step
Absolutely love these skirted bummies. I’ve made a few. I cut my skirted fabric on a double fold so not to have two seams. I know others will purchase these cute bummies. keep on sewing Neita you’re doing great👍💕
I make the skirted bummies and bellbottoms but I put a narrow hem in them. It's hard to break years of sewing in garment factories. Lol You've done so well with your business. You are an inspiration to this senior.
Those are so cute! As a grandma to a 5 year old . I would not buy the medium skirt . I would not want her bum sticking out. I would suggest making the long skirt bummies for sizes. 4,5 and 6 . Just my opinion. Those I would buy for my kindergarten granddaughter.
Cute! So if you want to do the waistband like your bell bottoms, you just turn the bell and bummie portion inside out like your bells. And as someone else mentioned you can double fold your fabric to create a single no seam bell like your pants for this. I think you just reduce it by a half inch (because you no longer use or need the 2 1/4” seams) 😊
This video has inspired me to try and sew some pants for my son. I found a good pattern from the same Etsy shop you got this one from but I do not have a serger so I will just have to use my sewing machine. Thank you for videos like this. They are really helpful
By the way Neija, we like to support you more, we are just wondering if you guys want us to send you free sunglasses? We did send you some emails for detail. We hope you might like them. 🥰
Thank you so much for this video I enjoyed it very much. I love 💕 your fabric room would love 💕 to browse you room 😂, Omg how cute are these bummies 💓💓💓💓💓. What a great idea for the kids tumbler. I didn’t see the link for the knit picker will you added soon?
Oh my goodness Neitaaaaaaa, these are sooo stinking cuteeeee. Thank you for taking us along the process, no worries like you said the more you practice, the best you’re become.
I use this pattern too for my skirted bummies and it’s the best! So easy and the outcome is super cute! The only thing I do differently is that I use Ambers method for the cuffs and waistband (so fold them in half twice so that I don’t have to pin so much at the end, would have to see it to understand). Ive made so many of them as samples and I’ve given them to my niece after photographing but I’m sooo behind on adding them to Etsy🤦🏽♀️ Etsy has definitely not been my priority this year but I need to hurry up and list all my samples, I probably have over 30 listings just waiting for pics and uploading.
@@NeitaFajita yeah I made it a goal to photograph everything this weekend and start getting everything up. But now I’m stuck because Amazon is giving me 35% off my first order on my business account and I’m soooooooo tempted to get a sub printer so now I’m just seeing what ink I want to get. I’m between cosmos and Hiipoo, or maybe printers Jack idk 🙈 I think I’m overthinking this because it means I have to go out and buy more shirts and I’m not looking forward to even more inventory to track.
My little tiny tiny scraps I throw away but my other scraps I have saved. I either will give them away to whoever wants them or list them on ebay for really cheap
Thank goodness I'm not the only one doing that 😂 so glad you went with the peanut patterns, they're the patterns I use and find them really easy to follow..
I do.. I love there high waisted shorts #21-Pippin and the Peplum Dress and shirt set #77-Addie this one is amazing it gives you shirt and dress patterns as well as a mix of sleeve options.. I'm in Australia so where heading into colder weather so I'll now be able to suss there pants out but I'll be trying your bell bottom pants out for sure
I fold the pattern pieces as small as possible and put in the clear plastic sleeves I use for invoice and cut fabric pattern pieces. I put the pattern title page in front to know at a glance what pattern it is. I store them standing up in a Dollar Tree square container. Bingham Bliss uses the same for her invoices.
The fabric is stretchy so there isn't a need for it. If I was using cotton fabric I recommend using elastic or if its a preference you like. But for this pattern and material it isn't needed
I would like to know if you can share a link where I can order fabric like yours I don’t have a Joann’s where I leave and I tried to order some online but I was not sure what fabric to pick.
I like to order from fabricbomb.com or I like to search "bullet fabric" on etsy and a ton of prints come up! I also have a few prints listed in my shop as well ❤
Hi Neita, I wish you could post a video everyday:) I just love all your content!!! Can you please share your settings on your serger? I bought mine and I can’t figure out what numbers to put it on. Hi so just wanted to say you can try pinning the waist and skirt at the same time when sewing makes it easier too. Loved the way yours came out
Thats what I was thinking! I'm going to try it next time

Because the fabric is a stretchy fabric there isn't a need for elastic. Thank you for watching!
