A reminder that Bo-Katan Kryze is one of the best characters in the Star Wars universe, for the people who didn't know that already. And Katee Sackhoff fills this character with an incredible amount of depth and so numerous layers...
Din Djarrin has obviously been written to become "The Mandalorian" who unites all the -divided- people of Mandalore who've been spread all over the galaxy ; but Bo-Katan Kryze exudes an aura that is rare in the galaxy, she is a skilled and very resourceful warrior who has become ever more wise over the years... She's more than ever a leader, but moreover a natural protector capable of wholeheartedly doing what it takes to save her loved ones (she clearly is not indifferent regarding Din Djarrin, not just because of the Darksaber, but because his deep desire to restore the past glory of Mandalore is a flame that she shares too, within her very self ; and she definitely won't commit the same mistakes that lead to her sister's death).
...Reason why I don't see them fight against each other for the Darksaber, but instead uniting their forces in hope of better days for the Mandalorian civilization...
I wouldn't be surprised if her and Din end-up together, ruling Mandalore together, as Queen and King of New Mandalore.

i genuinely hope that the both factions mellow out. that Bo and the others discover their faith again. and that the watch realize they don't need to blindly follow the creed (religeous extremism) to be truely mandalorian.
What i am wondering is, if the dark saber is still Din's now. i know he took it. But the mecha alien disarmed him, and Bo killed the mecha alien. So in theory we now got a Harry Potter Elder Wand scenario.

There's something about Din that's so innocent/naive despite being a highly-skilled fighter. It's why he continues to trust Peli and fall for her scams, but it's also why he's so willing to go to Mandalore and redeem himself. His way of viewing the world means he wouldn't dismiss the possibility unlike the Armorer and Bo Katan. That's why he's the one who causes the discovery of the mythosaur. Still not sure if he fell or was pulled under the water; Bo Katan wasn't that far behind him, but it looked like she had to use her jet pack to catch up - or is his armour that much heavier?

    • @Pixel0429

I don't think he's necessarily falling for her scams. I think he is weighing the pro's and cons of "falling" for the scams. He can either fall for hers, or fall for those of another, probably less skilled and friendly mechanic. Plus he gets a trusted babysitter out of her.
I think he fell. there was a steep drop off and with the weight of the armor he sank pretty quick

One thing I love the show does is that if you know the lore you're excited, if you don't they still tell you. It is not in an info dump way but a story telling way
I don't know what a mythasaur is but they tell you by her reading the plaque. Then seeing it I can work it out and see that it will effect her.
A lot of shows that have steep lore forget the part that not everyone knows it. You still have to show or tell people who don't know.

What an incredible episode! I didn't think we'd get to the Mines so soon but wow! I have so many thoughts and questions, lol. Loved seeing Bo-Katan use the Darksaber - what a great contrast to Din's struggle with it - she's 100% firm in her belief that she should rule and deserves it while Din not only still doesn't want to lead but he's conflicted, I think, about his redemption especially since he just realized the Armourer either lied or didn't know that Mandalore was not cursed. I love, too, how Din's re-swearing ceremony was interrupted before he could re-swear to never remove his helmet (great foreshadowing from Ep1's ceremony) - I don't believe he's completely redeemed yet because he didn't finish the vow. And boy, is Grogu more confident with the Force; loved that so much! A hint, I think, that he will say his first words this season as well. I got teary eyed seeing Mandalore as it is now after spending time there in TCW and when Din said "our people" to Grogu - hit me right in the feels. Sorry I'm longwinded, lol, but wow. Fantastic reaction and loved your thoughts and speculation well. It is long wait till next week, lol. 🙂

I'd like believe the Mythosaur is a creature of The Force and is as intelligent as the Zillo Beast. Plus Din shows that he is pure, noble, determined and a believer which is probably why the Mythosaur chose him and decides to reveal itself to Bo bec it probably sensed that she is broken, doubtful and cynical to the point she lost faith in the people of Mandalore.
If Din is truly chosen and managed to earn the respect of the Mythosaur to tame it, that fully cements his legitimacy to be Mandalor, making the Dark Saber look like nothing but a glorified royal artifact.
All that training of riding the bluurgs with Kuill and him telling the story that the Mandalorians rode Mythosaurs from Season 1 and Boba riding and training the rancor is one big foreshadowing to this very moment.

yeah i think din was very worried about the creed, and being an apostate so he's struggling wielding the darksaber. i think his speech about the mandalorians being scattered across the galaxy was also possibly hinting at him feeling the weight of carrying the darksaber 'cause he now knows that it comes with the responsibility of being the leader of mandalore. i think he's feeling pressure to unite the mandalorians and take the lead of them to take back their home. i think he maybe thought that bo katan would take that weight off of his shoulders because she's from the royal but when she looked so hopeless last episode, that worried him even more that he was gonna be the one who has to do it. i also think mandalore being cursed was just REALLY GOOD propaganda by the empire and now that they are gone (!) finally it took din to discover that it wasn't all true. i also feel like bo is maybe warmer to din and his admiration for the creed. ultimately this will be all about finding a middle ground between the different factions and uniting the people to be one nation again and i think with 2 episodes so far this season is doing a great job at building it all up. it did enough at least to get me hyped for the rest of this season and season 4 and it is thought provoking to me 'cause as you can clearly see from mt comment i've been thinking. great reaction as always!

With respect to "why hasn't anyone figured out it's not totally inhospitable," any Mandalorian poking around on Mandalore itself would have drawn Imperial attention quickly, so the timeframe for people to trickle back and poke around is only about five years max. I don't know how much the new timeline reflects the old one of Legends, but the Mandalore sector is pretty close to Imperial Remnant territory in 9 ABY (in Legends), so that five years might really be more like three or less. The Mandalorians have had to move on, and I imagine most don't really want to go back and see their homeworld in ruins, even if there is a chance it's not poisoned. But there are people who've been poking around, which is why Din came across that relic shard in some market or wherever he got it.

So, of the three of them, Bo-Katan, Din, and Grogu, who is going to tame and ride the mythosaur? My bet is on either Grogu or Din. Grogu because of the way he was able to use the Force to calm the rampaging rancor down and Din because of the things that Quiil taught him about taming and riding a creature. I think that Bo-Katan will end up with the Dark Saber, but that Din will end up the rider of the mythosaur. I think that most Mandolorians would follow either the wielder or the rider, so, together, they can reunite all of the clans. Not sure if it would be a purely political alliance or develop into a romance, though.

We don't know whose those helmets were. Other Mandalorians might have been on the planet since the Purge, and died. Din said his charts were wrong. That may have discouraged others (not just Mandos but also scavengers looking for beskar) to land on the planet thinking the air is not breathable. Whether you believe or not in the mystical legend, the symbolism is there: Din, a fearless stubborn Mandalorian, was able to get to the mythosaure's lair in the living waters underneath the mines of Mandalore, with the help of his friends. So he is the "chosen" one. My theory is that the mythosaure is a force-sensitive creature like Bendu in Rebels, and that the creed is true: only Mandalorians that cover their faces in public and follow the ways of the Mandalore are worthy of riding the mythosaure and becoming rulers without cursing the planet.

What if Mando and Bo both fly back to The Mandalorian coven and they both confirmed that they bathe in the waters of the minds of Mandalore, and then the armor turns around and anoint both of them back into the Mandalorian clan

Is the dark saber still Din's ? I know he posesses it. But the alien disarmed Din, and then Bo killed the alien, so in theory we got a Harry Potter Elder Wand scenario. If she can only be the official leader of Mandalor by getting the dark saber in battle, then she did just battle the owner for it.

The question is, does an ambush count as a defeat? If din had fought whatever it was head on, would he have lost? Those are the questions the rest of the mandalorians would have, and a claim on the darksaber that is so easily questioned is not enough to draw everyone back.

I don't think she's rejoining the cult. She might be on a path to reform/reforge Mandalorian society. She saw the Mythosaur, she was the one who wielded the Darksaber like it was supposed to be hers.

I'm seeing this a lot, but I truly don't think the mythosaur had anything to do with Din's drop. Mandalore was EXTREMELY messed up by the Empire during the Great Purge (as we see in the episode). The damage done has opened up all sorts of cracks and crevasses (and exposed the Mythosaur in its slumber, which appears to be ending), so when Din went to confidently take a step down onto the step he thought was there... He suddenly learned that a full suit of Beskar is not great swimming gear...

I found it interesting that Bo-Katan was so mocking of the Mandalorian faith and the Night Watch cult, but did we just witness her having an awakening? She bathed in the living waters, and looked into the eyes of the great Mythosaur, she is not going to be the same... Will she follow the creed? Or go back to her old ways???

With no chip for the I G , I was afraid of a trip to go find one. But with R5, they were on the way. Happy to have him along. I got KONG: Skull Island vibes as they flew through the clouds and storm.
I'm absolutely thrilled that Grogu is a more active character now. Not just, sitting there and being cute. He still is, of course.
I'm really hoping that something clicks inside of him while he's using the Darksaber and he'll be pretty invincible with it.
After Mando sank, (kinda saw that coming), Bo finds him, and as they're rising, something didn't look like a rock's surface and I had to cover my mouth from yelling! Saw the tusk and knew what it was!!
I hope we have at least two more episodes here!
    Take care, Omn1 !!

Also i like the theory that the watch had a part of Mandalore's downfall to go back to the good ole days. I mean most cults want to go back to when their radicalism was considered, "the way."
    Great reaction as always.

@Dai che è venerdì True, but it’s kinda hard to believe he sunk so deep that fast especially with the buoyancy of his body. Yes, metal alone can sink fast but a human body can’t. I was just thinking on season 2 when he met Bo-katan and jumps in the water to save grogu, he was able to stay afloat…

You know, if you think about it, the Death Watch espoused this very fundamentalist return to traditional values, and they embraced terrorism as a tool to convert the Mandalorian people back to how they "should be." But... the Children of the Watch just have the traditional values. They don't have an agenda for others or any desire to use terrorism to convert people. They just are who they are. That sincerity of belief might just resonate with Bo-Katan a little bit, even if she mocks them as an ignorant cult. I don't see her ever converting to them, but I could see her learning to respect Din Djarin for that sincerity.
