@@rodlevicount9834 As a Millwall fan, you are 100% right though I have a story about Bobby in his Pub at Stratford(?). A lifelong West Ham supporter here. The Wigan relegation match was the penultimate match of the season, which had effectively relegated us. The last match of the season was at home to Sunderland, which we went on to lose 3-0. Personally, I’m pretty ambivalent towards Millwall and have no animosity towards them. The team I dislike the most is definitely Tottenham and always have done. All the best and I hope you achieve promotion at the end of this season.
There is alot more to the rivalry than just football. Alot of Millwall and West Ham supporters worked in the docks and shipbuilding yards and them workers all went on general strike in 1926 against the government due to pay and working conditions. Millwall supporting workers refused to lend their support and returned to work rather than stick it out which provoked mass outrage and violence. So its also a rivalry based on the economic situation of the time and the impact it had on the workers back then to provide adequately for their families which was stopped by Millwall supporters.
Good Video though it was not emphasized that Millwall's 4th move was to leave East London altogether and move to SOUTH East London. It said "New Cross" but did not say where that was. Also, it was THe DOCKERS dispute early in the 20th Century that really caused the animosity as one set went on strike while the others continued to work. One last thing. That "AVRAM GRANT" banner was brilliant but it was not explained who he was. He was THe , existing,West Ham Manager who got them relegated:)
I am west ham . But I think we are both very similar fans in culture. Maybe it's the docker connection. I respect millwall fans for thier loyalty . THATS IT COYI.

I understand Millwall not favouring Teddy as much even though he was part of their greatest side but Teddy grew up following West Ham so I’m sure this was a big factor in him signing
That what I was told by a Millwall fan. The Dockers from The Surrey and West India Dock were Millwall (Rotherhide and Isle of Dogs) and Dockers from Royal Docks in Newham were West Ham. Not sure which is which, but one side supported the 1926 strike and another didnt and it caused some bad feeling between the two.
Correct. There was a childhood photograph of him wearing a West Ham light blue away kit with claret hoops. I found it on the internet a few years ago but it now seems to have been taken down.
no I got told by a Millwall fan the hated started over a Dock strike were Millwall went on strike and Teams Iron works did not it got nothing to with football this game has always been bigger for Millwall fans
It was the Millwall dockers, mainly from Scotland that walked through the picket lines hence the hatred. There was hatred before that but the dockers strike made it a lot worse.
All things have their day & these days I would be happier simply saying God bless Isla Caton & her family. 🙏🏼 You find in life, eventually you have to let things go.
They wouldn't would they, I mean.... they're scabs after all. Also the bloke from Millwall killed in the 70's fell off a train platform. What one-sided tosh.
West Ham started as an Essex team . The old boundary was the river Lee ( Canning Town flyover ) there side was Essex our side was East London. It wasn’t until 1965 when the GLC moved the boundary to Barking that’s when they became an East London team Just saying 😂😂 MILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLWALL
Several people die EVERY time Celtic and Ranges play in Glasgow .... i think the average figure is six people die due to football related violence according to the Scottish Gov figures. No messing about in Glasgow. Currently there are no away fans permitted in either ground atm. Mostly always noon kick off's to ensure people are still half asleep etc ...
Local historians & the Museum of London Docklands say there's no evidence of this claim. The Dockers went wherever the work was, be it north or south of the pipe
FYI, I reached out to both West Ham and Millwall fans. Leave a like!

Millwall having only ever spent one season in the top flight is a crazy statistic.
Two seasons.First year finished 10th,second year got relegated.
As my granny said, ' you can't beat culture'.
Lets hope Millwall get promoted to the Premier league and bring some extra happiness to our lives.
Not looking likely mate, anchored in 6th ain't gonna do it.

Good vid but definitely could've done with a more balanced approach
The rivalry really kicked off due to a dock strike

Yes and no. Both docks were on strike, but it was the Millwall dockers who broke the strike.
Your mate got it wrong, the dockers strike was mostly West Ham fans. The rumour says it was the Millwall fans that didn't strike alongside them
It was the Millwall dockers, mainly from Scotland that walked through the picket lines hence the hatred. There was hatred before that but the dockers strike made it a lot worse.
