- The saga continues as award-winning filmmaker Denis Villeneuve embarks on “Dune: Part Two,” the next chapter of Frank Herbert’s celebrated novel Dune, with an expanded all-star international ensemble cast. The film, from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures, is the highly anticipated follow-up to 2021’s six-time Academy Award-winning “Dune.”
The big-screen epic continues the adaptation of Frank Herbert’s acclaimed bestseller Dune with returning and new stars, including Oscar nominee Timothée Chalamet (“Wonka,” “Call Me by Your Name”), Zendaya (“Spider-Man: No Way Home,” “Malcolm & Marie,” “Euphoria”), Rebecca Ferguson (“Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning”), Oscar nominee Josh Brolin (“Avengers: End Game,” “Milk”), Oscar nominee Austin Butler (“Elvis,” “Once Upon A Time…In Hollywood”), Oscar nominee Florence Pugh (“Black Widow,” “Little Women”), Dave Bautista (the “Guardians of the Galaxy” films, “Thor: Love and Thunder”), Oscar winner Christopher Walken (“The Deer Hunter,” “Hairspray”), Léa Seydoux (the “James Bond” franchise and “Crimes of the Future”), Souheila Yacoub (“The Braves,” “Climax”), with Stellan Skarsgård (the “Mamma Mia!” films, “Avengers: Age of Ultron”), with Oscar nominee Charlotte Rampling (“45 Years,” “Assassin’s Creed”), and Oscar winner Javier Bardem (“No Country for Old Men,” “Being the Ricardos”).
“Dune: Part Two” will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a path of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.
Villeneuve directed from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jon Spaihts based on Herbert’s novel. The film is produced by Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Villeneuve, Tanya Lapointe and Patrick McCormick. The executive producers are Joshua Grode, Herbert W. Gains, Jon Spaihts, Thomas Tull, Brian Herbert, Byron Merritt, Kim Herbert, with Kevin J. Anderson serving as creative consultant.
Villeneuve is again collaborating with his “Dune” creatives: Oscar-winning director of photography Greig Fraser; Oscar-winning production designer Patrice Vermette; Oscar-winning editor Joe Walker; Oscar-winning visual effects supervisor Paul Lambert; Oscar-nominated costume designer Jacqueline West. Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer is again on hand to create the score.
Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures Present A Legendary Pictures Production, A Film By Denis Villeneuve, “Dune: Part Two.” The film is slated for a March 1, 2024 release in theaters and IMAX nationwide and internationally beginning on 28 February 2024, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.
This movie looks amazing! I got goosebumps. Finally a filmmaker did this story justice.

Agreed! They've made it so much like the books. Timothee Chalamet is perfect in his role. I can't wait to see this movie!

I will be curious to see how they receive Dune Messiah.
Mua'd dib!!
I feel like this is the story that film needs right now because it's a much-needed counter argument to the hero archetypes that are so prevalent in current pop-culture. It's a story that feels like it's adding to the discourse about what values and cliches we attribute to perceived heroes. It's a very sober and mature take on what it means to live up to those values and how it might actually be a very destructive thing.
Lol and theres a dozen more non traditionall heroes in a dozen more fantasy scifi books.
Nah. What we need to do is stop being lazy and read that originl content.
@@univeriseman8008 Never said there aren't other subversive takes on the theme of heroism.
I do however feel that Dune might be one of the more sober and mature ones that we've seen on the big screen in a long time while grounding it in a relevant setting that allows it to take on a very political approach as well.
@@univeriseman8008 sci fi writing will always be several decades ahead of film, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't celebrate the moments film takes a step forward
I ain't reading allat 💯 💯
I think people are actually too r3tard3d to understand at all what it's about.
And beyond that I really think that creativity is dead in my generation and after. As good as this film looks, as good as the first was, they are still based on books. Nobody in film has an original idea anymore. Not one that isn't bafoonishly high brow.
Whoever made this trailer deserve a raise. A trailer cant be allowed to be so epic. THIS MOVIE GONNA WIN ALL THE OSCARS !! CANT WAIT TO SEE!!!

When you don't have to rely on the sand worms to sell the trailer, you know it's good
Indeed. When the real sandworm troops are in your movie and you don't use that scene in your trailers....😅
Truthfully, I would keep that scene too. And the ascension ritual/water of life.
I can only describe the first Dune as a beautiful piece of art. It was easily the best movie I've seen in decades. I hope Dune 2 can match or even exceed the first.

I’ve watched this three times today . Get more excited each time !! Loved him using the voice on the crowd . I like that they’re showing the darkness overtaking his life and that he can’t escape it .
What do you mean when you say he was "using the voice on the crowd?"
@@0rinthian I understand how the voice works and the Bene Gesserit, but where in this video clip was he actually using the "voice?"
@@0rinthian The Gene Gesserit trained "voice" has a distinct inflection used to manipulate people. His speech was more of a rallying cry. Paul would never use the voice on the Fremen.
Simply breathtaking and what a beautiful masterpiece is when the human element both love and archetype and the embodiment of character development and insecurities of Paul and the fierceness of Joni is what sells a movie and makes it shine! Superlative words cannot amplify the beauty and power of this story!

THE MOVIE IS EVEN BETTER THAN THE TRAILER, never seen movie crafted that well before, but those who hadn’t read the book couldn’t fully catch everything.
Absolutely insane how that is possible. This trailer had me pumped, but the movie was just transcendent.
Most viewers don’t ask why the Emperor gave House Atreides the fiefdom on Dune in the first place. He then immediately supports the Harkonnens with some of his own forces, the Sardaukar, when they attack the Atreides on Arrakis. The Emperor, and those of his line, have always had the Sardaukar, the most fearsome fighters in the universe. The Great Houses all fear an attack by the Sardaukar, even their combined forces were no match. But in the book, Thufir Hawat was surprised that Baron Harkonnen had no clue as to the reason behind the Emperor’s move. As Hawat explained, Duke Atreides’ forces had been trained to a level that was equal, and in some cases superior, to the Sardaukar. Duke Atreides forces, combined with the other Great Houses, could have defeated the Emperor (something that the Atreides had not even considered). Therefore, the Emperor, in his own mind, was responding to a perceived threat to his rule.
Bro great explanation
“Your Father, was a weak man” 1:48 from there after ensues my favourite part of the trailer, Paul being pushed to limits he dared wish go but is being forced to by his enemies.
2:25 the upward propulsion from Stilgar and the Sandworm, unleashing centuries of conflict. Unbelievably surreal, the Sandworm bursting looks positively biblical. Brilliant metaphor for Paul’s mind amidst this galactic invasion. Mustn’t fear, fear is the mind killer…
Can't wait to see this! Haven't been this hyped for a movie in a really long time.
This is so close to the book its scary.
Is there a part 3? Or is this the last.
@@rohithkumarsp Dune Messiah is going to be the last movie of the "trilogy", but basically they split the first novel into two movies, so technically this is the last part.

Denis Villeneuve is the most powerful visual master nowadays.
mild spoiler warning:
i love to see they are staying very faithful to the book, i was worried they would portray paul as a hero in the movie even though that clearly goes against the books portrayal
It all comes down to the final confrontation. Because in the book Paul has good intentions but there's a specific moment that shifts. Without the delving into their inner monologs I wonder how they will pull this off in the movie.
When I first read Dune, I took it as paul the hero and the happy ending. I had to get to Dune Messiah to really get the deconsturction. Still, seems like they are angling it as a hero but can still end it with a twist, or a bitter sweet note
Now that we're post Covid i hope this crushes it at the box office...
chills, literal goosebumps on my arm, so excited for this to come out.
Finally a good movie. Hollywood is a desert devoid of creativity and talent these days

How does Chani manage to destroy that Harkonnen vehicle with a projectile weapon? Aren't they supposed to be shielded? And if she was using instead a lasgun, would that not cause her to be destroyed too when the laser interacted with the shield?

When I found out Dune was being made into a film, the first question I asked was, "Is the film being made by a long-time fan of the book?" When I found out the answer was yes, I knew I'd be seeing something extraordinary.

The first part was fantastic. And it really looks as if the film follows through with the novel's original intent to totally deconstruct the messianic mythos. Great that this is already a theme in the trailer, despite all of the bombastic visuals. This framing, as intended by Frank Herbert, would really elevate this movie diptych from all previous adaptation attempts.
The Harkonnen set pieces look insane, by the way. The design and scope just made my jaw drop. Very Lynchian, black and morbid, but I think that's super cool.
I agree the harkonnen aesthetics look great. People are like “why is it black and white?“ lol im like its not black and white the harkonnens are emotionless brutes and theres nothing with pigmentation left on their homeworld

Pretty funny how we haven’t heard feyd rautha speak in the trailers. It’s like they’re keeping his voice a secret or they’re afraid people will think Austin butler still sounds like Elvis
2:53 I love details like the melody transition from atreides to fremen

I like to think that The Godfather of SciFi Frank Herbert is looking down smiling upon what is being created, because it looks incredible.
I am SOOO hyped for this!
Really enjoyed the first and this looks epic, like it should
Reflecting on my own journey, I am struck by the parallels with Dune's epic narrative. As a 12-year-old born to a closed ultra-orthodox Jewish community. I stood strong against my teachers and parents with "I don't care what you believe, I believe!".
Relating to evolution and microbiology. i started life, in a third world country, alone, and practically dead to my parents and 5 siblings.
Now, at 31, my perspective has transformed, from youthful iron hard atheism to a new understanding of god.
I am a self taught programmer, writer, creator, i can create a digital world that mimics life here and in other places, i can create machines in the likeness of a man and way beyond.
Of course god is real, its obvious. for, one to even try to think of himself in others is absolutely absurd to begin with. gratitude is real and it's important,
practice it whenever you can.
Denis Villeneuve, thank you.
Frank Herbert, thank you.

Here's to stilgar, microbiology, evolution, belief and the indomitable spirit of mankind!

Justice served to Frank Herbert. Also the soundtrack is epic.
im glad i saw the whole movie in this trailer
I like how even though a lot of the dialogue from this trailer is clearly not from the book, they are using new dialogue to express the themes of dune and dune messiah instead of making a rote adaptation of the book's plot. It also seems like they are going to have a dune messiah movie because it seems like they are setting up farad'n
Infinity War was a great trailer but this is the greatest trailer I’ve ever seen!

One really really really minor nitpick I have is w the Cheops. Pyramid chess as it's described in the book is meant as regular chess played on a board shaped like a pyramid, rather than w pyramid shaped pieces. The goal is stated to get your queen to the apex of the pyramid while putting the enemy king in check. It's even mentioned that the pyramid has 9 levels
And the only reason this is important is cause it's a thematic microcosm of imperial politics and is often used in that regard
This is one the best trailers ever
Looks iconic
Wow.. This is it. I'm a fan of the books and thought the first film was too slow in its delivery. But this looks like it is bringing Dune upon it's audience like a sandstorm. That's the right approach. Without all the inner thoughts of our main characters, there is going to be many misunderstood concepts to fully appreciate the lore anyways. But by bringing the vibe of dune you can thoroughly entertainment your audience and make them atleast FEEL dune.
