As someone associated with leather industry, I feel that a Suede jacket (bomber collar or shirt collar) made from goat skin in dark brown or tobacco color is just an awesome piece of apparel to have in a gentleman's wardrobe.
Just wanted to take a second and thank you from the bottom of my heart Brian. Your videos have made men's fashion so accessible. Your style is impeccable and thanks to your videos, my wardrobe is next level. Huge fan of what you do! THANK YOU!
As a suggestion: For the Varsity Jacket, you can dress it up too. Like, swap the jeans with chinos/trousers, from turtleneck to polo shirt/button down shirt with/without tie. from white sneakers to boots. This will create a "preppy" look.
Welcome back, Mr. Sacawa. I really liked all the looks you put together. This definitely isn't for everyone but I do also like the vintage-inspired look where someone pairs a shirt, tie & grey flannels (or other formal trousers) with a Schott Perfecto (with stars, even) & boots. I think the more exaggerated "biker" styles like that can be dressed up a bit as they have a military look to them.
This is a nice casual outfit. The brown jacket looks nice and causal. Not sure about the jeans as it's a light colour and it seems like you are wearing a winter outfit. So I would got with dark wash jeans or even black. The shoes go's nicely with the jacket.
This is, I believe, the first ever comment I have made on RUclips. I enjoy your videos immensely. Thanks for dressing us all up a little better. The outlets you mention aren't available where I live but the matching advice is universal. Please continue. I note you were a bandsman. Did you ever play at the Edinburgh Tattoo?
Smooth lookbook. Not too convinced of the Jacket Maker, though. I do like the charcoal suede bomber. But poly lining is a no-go. There are some brands and mills that offer technical fabrics (Olmetex) on a high level. With the Jacket Maker, there's zero transparency about the type of poly, unfortunately. The varsity jacket, albeit a great style, comes in a poly "wool" that already seems to pick up lint like crazy (4:42 + 7:18). Not something I would expect on your channel, which (to me) represents quality *and* appearance in an inextricable liaison. 285$ for a synthetic jacket with some leather seems like a biiit of a stretch in that fashion. This is just to say: I'm glad you mentioned that they have viscose lining on offer, as well. Maybe next time, present some more of these? They would be more in line with what I've come to expect as a long-time viewer. Just a constructive critique. Happy holidays - can't wait to wear a Brian inspired New Year's outfit soon. 😉
You did a great job. To just the G1 bomber jacket did speak to me, somehow a bit more versatile. Hope you had great holidays with the family, wish you a great start into the new year and all the best 2024 😊🙏🏻👍🏻
Good video. I’ve had the same two leather jackets for about 15-one in a mid-brown suede and one black. One’s a bomber. I have no idea what the other is. I wear them about three times a year each, almost always with an OCBD, cotton or linen sweater, jeans or chinos, and Chelseas or my Indys. Sometimes, I’ll add a silk knit tie. You only see the knot on the tie. I just don’t find leather jackets all that versatile.
That sounds like a great look. I agree that leather jackets aren't easy to style in a formal setting. Kudos for making a tie work with them, I can imagine the outfit looking sharp with just that little edge of unexpected sophistication.
May you please do a navy suit options and combos to wear for a PROPOSAL, please?! I'm trying to get some ideas to wear before asking the question. Thank you!
Nice video Brian. The varsity jacket is so casual you pretty much nailed the look. It gives off cool dad vibes. Maybe you could go with black jeans or some sort of casual hiking boot.
I also have that problem where I’m not that age of a rock and roller. I’m almost 45 now and with these few amazing leather jackets I have, I BARELY wear them and I love them! And what’s sad is that they have been sitting in my closet for quite sometime.
@@hespokestyle definitely will pull them out soon! Btw, were those Jackets all MTM from the site you provided? Because they seem very accurate on fit and we both know most “off the rack” won’t fit properly. I am thinking of possibly getting one if that’s the case. Thanks my friend 🙏🏼
Great to see you are back on RUclips with some amazing content; I was already missing the great outfits and vast knowledge. Hope you and your family had an amazing Christmas. By the way, when will the Monarch Butterfly Black Bow Ties be back on the He Spoke S shop? I have kept eyeing them for any re-stocking but nothing thus far. Wishing you nothing but the best! 😊
I would say a Ralph Lauren Purple label biker jacket with fit your style best, they can be worn with dressed up clothes and look best with it. A Saint Laurent or Celine Wyatt in a jodphur or wyatt.
This was great! Loved the suede bomber jacket with the fur collar, very Spitfire look. Keep up the great work. PS. We need a video in the beard! It looks great. Wearing a beard with good clothes is God Tier.
That ox blood allsaints moto jacket you styled is still pretty badass from before…I still wear mine found it at an allsaints outlet years back I think they discounted it now tho haha
I thought tight leather jacket were in voke now....but I like your outfits , nice to see you wearing something for older guys. What is your view on tight leather jackets?
This video comes at the perfect time for me because I've been strongly considering buying a leather jacket. Mostly because I just think they look cool. But I also wonder what else, besides the obvious, I could wear with one. Thanks for the suggestions!
I love most of them but I really disagree on the profound black suede with the brown outfit, doesnt feel smooth to the eyes as the others. If it was a really dark grey or a night blue, or the darkest of brown I'd agree, the black deginitely does't work for me with brown but you still manage to look awesome ahah.
Whenever I try on a leather or suede jacket it never really works for me😢. Same with hats. Tired of wearing baseball caps…however, trying on various hats never works also. How to choose a hat???
When are you coming back to RUclips Brian? Missing the regularly scheduled programming on the channel. Great content as always. PS any Italy-trip videos coming up?
Hey Brian, you're among the best dressed and styled men on RUclips. You turn combining the basics into an art form. However, I must say that your current haircut ages you about ten years. You look a lot younger and fresher when you keep the sides and back much shorter. I know we should embrace aging, but I feel like it's too soon for you. Keep up the content, it's still as inspirational as ever!
I'd say the first time I really noticed leather jackets was on police officers and detectives in old movies and they always look good on formal clothing if I may say so myself. + Merry Christmas Brian!!!! 🎄
As a suggestion: I think to improve look 4, you could play in to the collegiate look a bit and put a polo or collared shirt with the colar over the crewneck sweater. And maybe swap the crewneck for something with a bit more color since its going to largely be covered by the jacket
I love that black biker Bomber jacket, but varsity jackets are a no for me. It’s for someone younger. I want to like but have to be honest when I see it geared to someone my age. I don’t mean this as harsh criticism but less is more when it comes to hair. These can flatter your face frame but make texture putty give your self volume relaxed look for the casual look. I love this channel, I feel that I’ve outgrown the RealmemRealstyle channel.
I think you've got the right idea by pairing some of them with formal trousers. Set's you apart from trying to look youthfull. I think the beard also helps with a bit of grey as you're obviously not having a midlife crisis. I think it also helps you're in reasonable shape. I don't see anything wrong with any of the looks. I don't personaly think i'd wear some of them but I'm a bit more overweight. I 've watched some of your older videos and I think we're in the same ballpark more conservative classic menswear and as you get older I think it looks more appropriate. There's so much that is aimed at the young and guilable with more money than sense. I really don't see how casual looks better than even slighty formal lkie you could pair a pair of jeans with a single breasted mac in dK Grey or with an overcoat in the winter and that would be so much simpler and more stylish than hoodies, quited jackets.
A varsity jacket and and any kind of 30+ maturity just should not be found in the same conversation. If you insist, then make it as plain as possible, and @inigosuarez's suggestions nailed it.

The brown G1 bomber is amazing! What are your thoughts on longer leather coats? TJM has quite a few long ones, how well would they work with a suit for instance? I usually like wool for long coats, but was wondering how a long leather coat would look with more formal clothing.
I do think that a classic, thigh-length shearling coat in muted dark brown or black can work very well with a suit. Google "Lederwerk Frankfurt Zugspitze" for a high quality example. Or browse "etiql shearling". They come with the added bonus of being exceptionally warm while made of breathable and robust all-natural materials. I would stay away from faux fur or fake shearling, though. That just means a poly lining, which won't be warm, but run hot and uncomfortable.
