Rocky looked like a man possessed in the last round, every punch that clubber landed got him more and more mad, he wasn't going to be denied, his confidence was sky high, my favorite of all the Rocky movies.
Clubber would not defeat Drago. The only reason why Clubber is so ferocious is because of his amazing strength. He has no jab he can not block he swings like a lumberjack. However his punches are not 2000psi like Drago's. So basically Drago beats him at his own game plus his reach is so much longer, Drago has endurance to pound a guy for 15 rounds like he did Rocky where Clubber was exhausted and breathing extremely heavy after two rounds, and Drago knows how to throw a jab too not just bomb right hands. Drago hands down.
I agree, clubber is a brawler. Drago has real boxing dynamics and training. This is why rocky beat him. Rocky learn the art of boxing in his training with apolo. This is something clubber never learned. Clubber try's to use brute strength to win which is a horrible box technique.
Zyn Humara exactly. Clubber could get away with it because he is so powerful the technique of others didn't matter.... until he faced an agile Rocky. Now his only aspect that makes him an amazing contender is a loss against Drago because. Well 2000psi speaks for itself.
Nah, he was moving around a lot in rocky iv. He was hitting and running to tire drago down, like he told rocky to do in here. But it didn't work for drago😅

This fight is probably the most believable of all the Rocky fights…both Apollo bouts were epic, but the choreography, the coaching from the corners, the trash talking, and the strategy (Rocky pulled off a perfect “Rope-a-dope”) makes this battle so accurate.
Just watching this series for the first time and holy shit, this fight topped the others by a wide margin. The way it was coordinated with the score, my god these movies are masterpieces.
I love 2:23 "Yeah" little did Clubber's manager know he was about to get his bell rung in a few minutes and he would be telling Clubber to "Get Up" hahah
Funny, in real life he would have lost all of his "three" lives because of his game plan. Using his face to stop punches instead of just avoiding them.
"He's not human. He is like a piece of iron." ---- Ivan Drago "The man's got bricks in his gloves." ----- Mason Dixon That is freaking Rocky Balboa....
Another reason Stallone's face should be carved into Mount Rushmore, as such a lofty and sublime honor is long overdue. I mean the guy brought us Rocky and Rambo, so such a magnificent depiction of his iconic mug carved into that venerated mountain is the least our country can do for Stallone. He is America, and many of his movies are so bad and utterly absurd that they're FUCKING SPECTACULAR AND UNFORGETTABLE!! Though this one, Rocky Three, was pretty good, and well acted. Balboa!!
Hey, the dude could pick em real well. Maybe this 450 foot statue in his likeness, and in Rambo form, should be erected somewhere between the Washington tower and the Lincoln memorial. Maybe that would be more suitable!!
Taylor Ahern You do realize you can just go to the Philadelphia Art History Museum on Benjamin Franklin Avenue and see the Rocky Statue up close and personal right? Been there and loved it! Even ran the steps with my wife. When you get to the top of the steps you can help yourself but become your own version of Rocky at the top and look out over the city. It's a beautiful sight to see honestly. If you go the top and stay perfectly in the center you will get to the top and find the Rocky boot prints at the exact center of the steps where the Rocky Statue used to be located before the former Mayor wanted to remove it, the people of Philadelphia however fought back from that idiotic idea and had the Statue placed at the bottom right of the steps under the trees with it's own little section. Trust me, it's worth the visit to Philadelphia even if that's your only reason. While you're there though go to the Constitution Center and Independence Hall. Between those two spots is the Liberty Bell. Actually come to think of it, Philadelphia is an awesome place to go in general. The people are actually quite nice contrary to what some people may believe. Been to Philly and New York City both, I much prefer Philly 9 times in a 7 day week
Thank you so much my man! Thank you!! That was a fascinating anecdote. Philly is definitely tops on my list of places to visit. I've many Great things about it. Thank you!!
I can't believe Stallone is almost 70 now and still looks really good, in much better shape then a lot of men half his age, even younger. I always thought Stallone looked his best when he was filming the Rocky series; he was a bit smaller but still well-defined and best of all, more natural-looking.
I'm not sure how other Rocky fans view this, but Clubber Lang is my least favorite opponent. However, the way Mr. T portrayed him makes the character the most revered antagonist in the entire saga.
Well after seeing this scene for god knows the how maniest time it still catches me. You know there isn't much of a plot in this movie and it doesn't even aspire to be a film about boxing, but who cares, it "transports" the emotional drama so well there is no defence against it. Poor people who never saw a Rocky movie.
Rylan Joran Yeah the movie in general is a really low budget movie and yet, it is still one of the most popular movies to date...at least with those of us born in the 70's and 80's. To me the whole Rocky Saga is inspirational because they do have a deeper meaning to them if people just take the time to understand it and look into them. Rocky was just about a guy who had nothing but an every day job ( kind of ), living by just the bare minimum, had nothing but the sport of boxing that he loved, and the whole world just weighed down on him. Then comes Apollo a rich, wealthy, totally obsessed with money and publicity, had lost his edge, then gave Rocky a title shot thinking it was just going to be like an exhibition match. Rocky wanted to prove he had what it took to come out on top against the world and he even was going after the one girl that most guys wouldn't give two cents notice to look at. He proved to the world that he could go blow for blow and he wanted it all with his heart and soul. This of course leads to Rocky II where Creed gives him a second shot and now things get serious, so does his training with Mickey. He of course is now getting noticed and starting to get asked to do commercials, tv ads, etc etc. He's now starting to go some where and even starts to raise a family. He thinks about cancelling the fight so he can be with Adrian and the kid, but she in turns tells him to go for it and WIN. Proving that behind every good guy is a good woman to help support his dreams and our family is what is supposed to drive us along with ourselves. Rocky III of course he has the title, money, a good life, and Mickey takes care of him in the fight world, so he can continue to live his dream...however, life Apollo, he gets wrapped up in the money and fame, then Lang calls him out. He lets anger get the best of him and his pride. He loses the fight quickly and Mickey even passes away, he's back to nothing, and he's starting to give up because everything he wanted is now falling apart. Apollo steps in and tries to help get his edge back....again it takes Adrian to bring Rocky back to reality about being afraid and that it's human and that he has to realize who and what he is and stop worrying about all the fame and glory because in the end, no one cares but he has to care. Moral: Believe in yourself enough that you're willing enough to do what it takes to make it in life, no matter what it cost. He comes back and of course beats Lang. Rocky IV was in its own way based on the Cold War and Apollo is representing America about being proud of who they are and not truly preparing for what could be. Rocky then feels obligated to step up, fight back, and go to Drago's homeland and fight him there. Where nothing but pure anger and pride drives him to want to fight Drago. He leaves everything behind and goes to a place in the middle of no where. Adrian shows up and he then has his heart to take over because she's there with him no matter what happens. He beats Drago, the Russian people actually cheer for Rocky in the fight because he's not backing down and he's going toe to with Drago. Two people killing each other over who is really the best when in the end, both earned each other's respect and Drago stops being a puppet and starts fighting for himself. Moral: Respect is earned, family sticks together, don't be afraid to stand up for what you believe in. Rocky V well that movie was about Rocky losing everything once more, starting from the very bottom and his son has to learn how to grow up just like Rocky originally did. Tommy comes in his life, he wants to be just like Mickey, Tommy turns against him because Tommy wanted the money and fame, Rocky wanted him to grow up in the boxing world like Mickey had him do...of course this cost him more than just popularity with the people, it cost him his family because he was trying to be Tommy instead of taking care of his family. When Tommy turns against him he then understands that his family is all he really has and ain't nothing going to take that away. Then he tries to come to terms with that until Tommy comes back and tries to call him out. He knocks Paulie out and then Rocky steps up after checking on Paulie. Then that's when Rocky fights Tommy in the streets where Rocky had grew up, learned to fight, and proved that heart is more than muscle
"Ladies and gentlemen, the winner by knockout in one of the most unbelievable comebacks in boxing history, once again the heavyweight champion of the world, the Italian Stallion, Rocky Balboa!"
+Humza Khan Every Rocky movie final fight was based off of a real-life boxing match that actually happened. The first one where Rocky faced Apollo was based off of the fight where Muhammad Ali faced this one big British guy, and Ali kept giving that guy a beating, but the other man just kept coming after Ali. (Apollo was Muhammad Ali and Rocky was the other guy)
My favorite Rocky movie. Sure the first movie is technically better but this one is more entertaining, and still has some heart to it. THERE IS NO TOMORROW!
"We've got pandemonium in the ring" before the first round..After the first round Clubber Lang was mad because he took all the blows from Rocky..After his missed blows he was screaming even after the bell..Great moment from Mr.T..Another great Rocky from Stallone ! ! !
The "You must be crazy or something line" is a reference to Muhammad Ali & Joe Frazier's first fight, Ali has told the story that while he was beating on Joe in one round, Ali said to Joe "Are you crazy? You must be crazy" and Joe replied "that's right, I'm crazy!"

Apollo @0:35"It doesn't take a man to stand there and get his head beat off"
Then he does that exact thing in Rocky 4..
Dk Soulstice Difference is, Rocky did it as a strategy. Apollo did it because he was washed up and old and suffered for it.
Out of all the matches in The Rocky series, I think this one is my favorite.
Rocky mind fucked the shit out of Clubber in this fight.
The Ali mind trick : « Is that all you’ve got George ? »
« They Say you hit hard but you are just a sissy . »
XtremeAngler1000
that and rocky has like an iron jaw. he can take so much punishment from clubber and drago.
Katamura The Leafs Fan Totally the punishment he takes is insane. I'm just saying how Drago beats Clubber in any category
XtremeAngler1000
Yep reach, strength, speed, strategy. Drago Has all of these over clubber.
0:37 Apollo seemed to have forgotten this in the 4th movie lol
+Pmz Nope you forgot, this is definitely the 3rd one lol.
Am I Not Merciful!! What are you talking about?? I think you misunderstood what I said.
+Am I Not Merciful!! He saying that Apollo forgot what he said in the 3rd movie which caused him to die in the 4th movie.
Nah, he was moving around a lot in rocky iv. He was hitting and running to tire drago down, like he told rocky to do in here. But it didn't work for drago😅
Favorite fight..His reaction when he wins..the joy of everyone's faces..even Paulie was smiling lol
Ed Mundo Rocky vs Clubber is the second fight. ROCKY VS DRAGO is the best fight in all Rocky´s movies. It´s amazing.
Hank Skorpio the 2nd fight with apollo is the best fight
alchoholicsforthewin I prefer Rocky vs Drago. Man vs Machine.
@@hankskorpio5942 lol kids like you are pathetic lol.
Always think rocky 4 is the best and drago is the best existence in the universe lol.
Yet you kids wont hate on drago for the cause of rocky 5 lol.
Pathetic lol
It's amazing how this scene with this musuic still gave me the chills, no matter how many times i watched it. Only an epic movie can do so.
The end of the fight when they capture Rocky, Adrian, Apollo, Pauly & Apollo’s coach-priceless 👏👏👏
I never tire of these fight scenes, and indeed these films. Loved 'em since I was a kid and I still love em' now! So inspirational.
I have theory that Rocky went into a coma during Rocky 2 and everything thereafter was a fever dream. It would explain Rocky fighting Mr T and Hulk Hogan and single handily ending the cold war with his fists.
lol. its all a near death experience. not a bad theory.
+Mark Meason
*Hahaha, you seem to have a really wild imagination don't you,*
*i wonder what kind of fantasies you can come up with for my lovely Venus dimples =)*
Cold War... There was no war!! Just nuclear threats.
+Mark Meason chuck norris ended the cold war, rocky ended ww2, get your facts str8 mate.
+Sonny Parisi there was definitely a war that happened
This fight is probably the most believable of all the Rocky fights…both Apollo bouts were epic, but the choreography, the coaching from the corners, the trash talking, and the strategy (Rocky pulled off a perfect “Rope-a-dope”) makes this battle so accurate.
Just watching this series for the first time and holy shit, this fight topped the others by a wide margin. The way it was coordinated with the score, my god these movies are masterpieces.
CLUBBER LANG VS IVAN DRAGO WOULD BE THE SHIT!
+Sonny Parisi Clubber would win.
+111highgh He would die after 6 rounds
+Sonny Parisi Clubber would be dead in 3 rounds, no technique, no stratagy just power. Ivan would wipe the floor with him
*****
I'll fight him anywhere, anytime, for NOTHING.
What makes it so good is clubbers sheer psychotic mind vs Dragos technique and smarts
Longest third round in boxing history.......LoL
I was thinking of that.. :3
dredae76 LOLOL
It was just under 3 minutes
dredae76 it was because rocky knocks him down just before 3 minutes are up so they have to do the count anyway
yep 😂
I love 2:23 "Yeah" little did Clubber's manager know he was about to get his bell rung in a few minutes and he would be telling Clubber to "Get Up" hahah
I am amazed to see that, even today, there are a lot of people who are thrilled and are vivid Rocky fans.
By far the best Rocky movie !!!
Mr T also unbelievable!!!
Be more man than him!!! Apollo's great words
4:22 most enthusiastic "yay" i have ever heard
brilliant....Rocky is stopping punches with his face...that is what i would have done if i was a boxer. i would have blocked punches with my face.
No better way to block, right?
hehe its the only way
How do you like my "Face to your fist" style? Its flawless!
***** movies......entertainment......not "reality"
Funny, in real life he would have lost all of his "three" lives because of his game plan. Using his face to stop punches instead of just avoiding them.
"He's just a man!.....BE MORE MAN THAN HIM!!"💯💯💯
(I love that line. )
Rocky 2 and 3 final rounds were some of the best, tension, filled, round fights in the movies.
Why did the punches make explosion sounds lol
Dieva Lala Because it's fucking Rocky, dude, he has gunpowder for fists.
+Yerflua but from 1979 to 1985 they used this sound effects punch, and it was awesome
"He's not human. He is like a piece of iron." ---- Ivan Drago
"The man's got bricks in his gloves." ----- Mason Dixon
That is freaking Rocky Balboa....
+Dieva Lala Because of they have mics in or around their gloves.
***** From 1979 to 1985 they used it, too bad they didn't use in rocky 5 in 1990
Stallone had some build/physique in that particular Rocky movie.
Yeah I know, he had like 3% body fat!
Nathan That be round about the same time he did First Blood. He's still a well built chappie (for his advancing years).
+Nathan That's fucking insane. How is he still alive?
+David Cook anabolic steroids and HGH.
+Mark Meason No HGH here. Hell, he was only 155 pounds. But anabolic steroids were likely. Weren't nearly as stigmatized back then.
This scene has everything: trash talk, acting, fighting sound effects, small funny moments, and of the slow motion screams. It is funny
For sheer adrenaline for the viewer this is the best boxing match in a movie, ever.
Technically, Apollo is still the best, he just got old. Time is undefeated. He also held the belt a lot longer than Rocky.
Now we can relive the drama with Creed, Creed II, Creed III, Creed IV, Creed V, Creed VI and Creed VII.
It always makes me laugh when clubbers coach says wear him down he’s all ours while clubber is about to pass out after 2 rounds lmao
Balboa!!
He also married Brigette Nielsen. Cancel the carving.
Hey, the dude could pick em real well. Maybe this 450 foot statue in his likeness, and in Rambo form, should be erected somewhere between the Washington tower and the Lincoln memorial. Maybe that would be more suitable!!
Actually, 400 and 50 feet might be a wee bit too high.
How bout 428 feet, how does that sound?? Ssssssssssucka!!!!
David C I couldn’t take him seriously throughout the entire movie 😂
I love how 80's punch sound effects sounded like explosions.
Randall Stephens wow u should write a book on Rocky maybe it could be a bestseller.
Hahaha I would if I knew people would read it
true
Philly isn't that small of a town, man!
"Ladies and gentlemen, the winner by knockout in one of the most unbelievable comebacks in boxing history, once again the heavyweight champion of the world, the Italian Stallion, Rocky Balboa!"
Balboa using his face to protect himself! Is amazing!
I like how Rocky and Clubber can speak perfectly with mouth guards in their mouth.
This bears a striking resemblance to the Rumble in the Jungle fight between Ali and Foreman. Watch it if you haven't already to see what I mean.
Humza Khan Yep, it's what they were going for.
Also...nice avatar!
Serious Jokester Thanks!
Humza Khan yep rope a dope in action for sure
+Humza Khan Every Rocky movie final fight was based off of a real-life boxing match that actually happened. The first one where Rocky faced Apollo was based off of the fight where Muhammad Ali faced this one big British guy, and Ali kept giving that guy a beating, but the other man just kept coming after Ali. (Apollo was Muhammad Ali and Rocky was the other guy)
nascarfanatic2425 I believe the guy's name was Chuck Wepner.
Mr. T was legendary as Lang, Rock's best foe, better than the quiet controlled freak Drago. Clubber was as strong as you can get naturally.
Correct!!! And probably the most realistic boxer…very believable character.
Worst comeback line ever! "You a stupid fool" "Well at least I ain't breathin heavy"
No it's not
I've heard worse.
It wasn't meant as a come back. It was Rocky realising how he was going to win the fight, and telling Clubber Lang that he had his card marked.
The best line was when Clubber says bust you up and Rocky replies go for it!
My favorite Rocky movie. Sure the first movie is technically better but this one is more entertaining, and still has some heart to it. THERE IS NO TOMORROW!
I may be stupid, but I ain't breathin' heavy. I'll see you in sixty seconds.
Classic.
the noise when he punches lmao sound like a train hiting something
LOL it's actually sounds like dynamite blasts
Eh, it's 1982, so it's fine lol
Yeah the punching sound effects were the worst back in the 80's and 90's
thedarkknight646
Eh, they were cool to me back in the day. But now that we have newer effects, we've adapted.
Metin Showtime lololol
R.I.P Muhammad Ali we miss you
"We've got pandemonium in the ring" before the first round..After the first round Clubber Lang was mad because he took all the blows from Rocky..After his missed blows he was screaming even after the bell..Great moment from Mr.T..Another great Rocky from Stallone ! ! !
3:27 Apollo was loving every bit of that Rocky Fury madness
2:39 still my favourite part, really fast and strong punches, so intensive.
'He's getting killed!!' 'He's not getting killed, HE'S GETTIN' MAD!!' Easily the best line.
So many incredible moments in this series. You ain't so bad champ. When he knows down Apollo for the first time ever. When he cuts the Russian.
The "You must be crazy or something line" is a reference to Muhammad Ali & Joe Frazier's first fight, Ali has told the story that while he was beating on Joe in one round, Ali said to Joe "Are you crazy? You must be crazy" and Joe replied "that's right, I'm crazy!"
lol The punch sound effects. (shot gun blasts)
In my opinion this is the best boxing match ever done in a Movie. I love it!
i grew up in Lynnfield ma graduate of Lynnfield high school 1975 when rocky one came out .I had a great growing up. I went to Dean Jr college graduate of 1977 .Then i went to bu university of dental technology and worked in a crown and bridge dental labratory with two other technicians its an art and craft and if the dentists upstairs didn't like my work they would have let me go but I loved my work and was good at it. i also grew up with horses and was a professional exercise rider. sylvester stallone said nothing is real if you don't believe in who you are and micky said sometimes nature is smater than people think. I came down with a rare autoimmune illness which my grandfather had and its called bullous pemphigoid and turned into mantel lymphoma. I have all the anthology dvds of rockys movies. the only one I didn't like was rocky five with Tommy Morrison who died. Like sylvester stallone said all these nice things we have mean nothing when he went to Russia. people have said to me i look like sylvester stallone. Barry Shulman where it says read more tap that and you can read the whole comment. sincerely Barry Shulman
*Every Rocky up to 4 is a classic in its own right, these movies jack you up so hard & is good to watch before a workout,*
*me and my bro grew up on these & used to spar in the living room with those hazardous store bought boxing gloves =),*
*Stallone was a bit of a wizkid wasn't he?.*
I wish real boxing were really this cool!
1) Pause the video at 1 min
2) Open a new tab
3) Open watch?v=QEjgPh4SEmU on RUclips
4) Adjust volume if necessary
5) Resume video and enjoy
lol!!!!
Rocky became so much skilled & faster After Apollo trained his ass..thats how you know Apollo was the Best Skilled Fighter in this whole series
2KILLAVILLE now cause at this film he said that he knows what he is doing he didnt listen to them
+2KILLAVILLE yeah I totally agree with you. Apollo would of killed ivan drago 1 if he were younger, and 2 if he took the fight abit more seriously.
Joey Seaver Yea Apollo took fight with Drago too lightly like he did with his first fight with Rocky
"You aint nothin!!" Rocky talking shit with a lil stiff arm is so badass
I get chills every time when he pushes Clubber's face and yells "You aint so bad!" Totally throws his game off.
Clubber's swings sound like roars lol
3:18 that's a professional defensive stance by clubbers Lang there.
Awesome fight scenes! And those punches - my god! Stallone should’ve said in the movie “This one’s for Mick!” and then just throw a head knocking punch.
I’m prob close to 3 figures in terms of having seen this movie and that ‘get outta there’ from Apollo kills me every time 😂
Rocky went Super Saiyan.
Lol look at his victory jump at 4:18 looks like he broke his back.
Bob Jenkins now I can’t stop imagining him breaking his back on the way down 😂😂😂
Nah he fell back from exhaustion.
Lol bet you cant keep your back straight after bending down too long from dodge punches lol
@@quinn1524 kids like you are nothing more than attention seekers lol.
Desperate need of attention
@@bowens9211 tf
@@MrKid351 hes a troll, ive argued with him on other channels, ignore him.
I love how much they talk in the fight, considering how difficult it is to speak clearly while wearing a mouth piece in real life.
The victory music, the jump and collapse by Rocky. Thats it man. To think of overcoming something like that. Love me some Rocky
Longest 3rd round ever
Omg i was thinking the exact same thing 😆😆😆😆
+Batman8657 good point
+Batman8657 Time it...it actually doesn't go three minutes
+Manu Ginobilis Bald Spot It starts at 1:09 and Clubber Lang is counted out at 4:13.
was thinkin the same thing lmfao
