If it's 8 different characters, I'd say the likely ones are: Goku Vegeta Gohan Piccolo Trunks Frieza Krillin Maybe 18 or Bardock or something? The initial 7 actually have a fair few fights throughout the story and how they're going to distribute Tournament of Power is a very very good question.
I don't know if you know who sloplays is but I basically told him I've never played the Budokai games so this will be my first time and I'm excited it's a what if game with awesome characters and so I'm excited for my first time
In today's day and age, I can't imagine them doing anything other than a AI bot that uses the voice of whatever character is speaking, and just reads the lines that you programmed into it... AI is just so easily available these days, especially to companies, that entire career fields are getting replaced with AI bots... Voice actors are especially at risk because AI is actually better than the actual voice actor because AI can do things like this while a real person voice actor just can't. Real person VA = everything must be pre-recorded or unvoiced AI voice actor = voice lines can be auto created and adjusted on the fly, WITHOUT having to contact the voice actor and schedule a recording session, you just plug the lines into the computer, and the AI just, voice-acts the lines on the spot, in the voice of the character. Edit: At first the real person was more believable, but just like when computers first came out, the capability of the artificial creation is quickly skyrocketing, to the point of overtaking real people.
I haven’t heard anyone talk about character proficiency …each character has it on the screen when choosing them so it could be a way to farther increase the overall stats of the character maybe?!

The whole DB universe of fighting characters at some point would be nice. Even if its Sparking Zero 2 or 3, or just DLC.
I can definitely see that happening as an dlc or update and that’s probably what’s gonna happen when/if they update/fix split screen in the future
