There is a Hollywood agency that trains and pays real live animals how to act. Yes, I believe this tiger was paid a significant amount of money to act like it was surprised when this guy came up behind it. In fact, here is an interview with this tiger, whose actual name is Clarence.
Interviewer: "Clarence, there's been some debate if you were trained or not and that if you were paid for acting in this video."
Clarence the Tiger: "Yep. It's true. I was adopted as a cub by a loving human couple right after my Mom was hunted and killed in India. They moved to the US and they thought I had some acting potential so they signed me up with 'Terry's Animal and Child Actors Training and Casting Agency'."
Interviewer: "How long did you train there?"
Clarence the Tiger: "About six months."
Interviewer: "That short of time? That's amazing!"

I'm a paid animal actor. I've play bitten plenty of people before.' The director put the kibosh on the idea though. He thought it would have been too dramatic. He was going for the comedy angle."

No matter how well trained it is, it is not a domesticated animal. Domestic cats have been selectively bred for thousands of years to obtain the most amenable characteristics for family life, Tigers have not. Not that that has ever stopped your average domestic moggy from expressing an opinion when it's pissed off. There's millions of years of evolved instinct in this big cat making it highly unpredictable. And scared Tiger vs Formula 1 twat only has one winner.
