Was flown from Germany during the '06 World Cup, where he was feeding the Swedish fans, and afterwards poured into a Limousine after a fair few Scottish Island Ales. Top bloke. Nice to see he is in good health.
As I swede I must correct the narrator about the impression swedes had of the swedish chef. When I was growing up everyone (kids and adults) loved the Swedish chef. He was one of the most popular character in the muppet show in Sweden at the time.. Still today it´s quite common that swedes make funny impressions of the Swedish chef mock-swedish.
True? I'm sure there were many that adored him, but although my research was conducted some years ago I think it's safe to say that there were people on many varying sides of this debate.

Had the distinct pleasure of attending one of his events at Sagaliden in Sweden sometime in the nineties -courtesy of my parents-, and he was very entertaining! There was a band there also, and he even sang for us. Oh, and his food was delicious.

Neither Swedish nor English with a heavy Swedish accent sound anything like what the character does. The character sounds Flemish if anything. This old guy clearly just tried to made a career out of some false recognition.
