Thank you for this.
Love the comment about the rolling shutter issues aka leaning Tower of Pisa as I call it. Yeah I usually edit out those parts anyway. Glad you point that out.
Happy to see I’m not alone! 😂
Since your original video... I have been stunned at what has come out to turn your Iphone pro max into a serious camera and or video camera....the lenses and attachments. We used a ZV-E10 for a H.S. volleyball match. it was stationary posted on a tripod at the top of the Bleachers... came out really really good...
It only overheated on me once but if you use a power pack to power it in hot days it would keep it from overheating
That’s my camera and I love it!
Is there any chance you could make a video on what settings you use on the ZV-E10 and why ?
This video is not specific to the ZV-E10 but it works for any Sony camera ruclips.net/video/TOuOslm5jeY/видео.htmlsi=MPYksWSG4C5XD1aG
Great content. What lens do you suggest to pair with this camera for soccer reels?
It depends on your budget but here are the two high-quality lenses that I recommend ruclips.net/video/YUPzUrHcyXo/видео.htmlsi=cUByHs_JNkJqaEQs
What camera setup would you recommend for the following scenario? I need to set a camera on a tripod so I can record my soccer sessions. Occasionally, one of my assistants will be handling the camera following the coach/player doing the skills or drills.
If you had a $2000-3000 budget, what would you get? Cheers!
I think that getting the two lenses in this video would get you covered for all your needs ➡ ruclips.net/video/omGdWeu0LLg/видео.htmlsi=wiTHWFaGu35CjBzq
what s-log do u recommend filming on with the zv-e10 for indoor basketball?
S-LOG2
Can I use Sony RX100 (M7) for sport videography? (especially for outdoor sport)
Do you have specific technique/tutorials for filming racing sport? i.e.: motorsport, F1, equestrian, marathon, etc.
Unfortunately I don’t have tutorials specifically about racing. I also never used a point and shoot camera like this for sports. I’m sure you would get much better results with that than with a phone for example but the sensor is quite small so the image quality, especially in low light, would not be as good as a mirrorless camera. You also have to make sure to only use the optical zoom and not the digital zoom because digital zoom affects image quality.
refurbished or second hand markets are the way to go I use think this type of purchase bad but realized i could save more money as long as its coming from a good seller.
True. If you do your due diligence, it is a great way to save money.
Hey quick question. Im about to purchase an upgrade from the cannon m50, and want to know a quick answer for filming sports/cars/ travel vlogs. Sony Zv-e10, Sony FX30, OR Sony FX3. which is the best to purchase if not wanting to upgrade for a while?! I love your vids man!
The best is definitely the FX3 but it is also the most expensive. These two things usually go hand in hand.
okay thanks for the quick response! If budget is tight should i get the fx30? or just go full send with the fx3 no matter the price. is it worth down the line to get fx3
(im 22) @@BeyondTheGame_E
but also FX30 over the zve10 correct?
@@BeyondTheGame_E
Yes the FX30 is better than the ZV-E10. It is a great camera, pretty much the same as the FX3 except that it has an APS-C sensor instead of the full frame sensor of the FX3.
I'm trying to film baseball games in Southern California. Looking for 4k that can run for 2 hours at up to 100 degree weather. Currently I use 3 GoPro 10's and they are so unreliable at those temperatures and even my Sony A7iv cuts out around 20 minutes.... Would the ZV-e10 even come close to handling that task? I feel like the fx-30 is so overkill but doesn't seem to overheat
I think that if you want to film in 4K for 2hrs in these conditions, you'll need a mirrorless camera with a fan or a camcorder instead. So, yes the FX30 would make sense for you.
whats your opinion on the Panasonic Lumix G7?
It's good for the price but definitely has limitations compared to the cameras in this video.
Thanks bro 💪🏿
You’re welcome!
I literally just purchased the Canon EOS R50, so I was really relieved when you recommended it. I live in South Texas where it can get pretty damn hot. A few weeks ago, I was using my Canon to take photos when I noticed the temperature warning. It was a sunny day in the low 70s, and I was NOT in the shade. Never once did I use it for video. The (camera) temperature continued to rise until it eventually shut off. It’s a bit concerning because I have one more soccer season to go, and this Spring, it will be f***ing hot. So far, anything I have looked up mentions this camera overheating while recording video.
At the time of all of this, my camera had an older 70 mm - 200mm lens. It was also sitting in my lap while I video recorded the game on my iPhone.
If you have any opinions on this, I’d like to hear them. I am not a professional photographer - it is my hobby. Thanks in advance.
I don't know that camera particularly well but you should go through the menu to see if there is an option to raise the temperature level at which the camera turns itself off automatically. The Sony ZV-E10 has that feature and it makes a big difference.
@@BeyondTheGame_E Thank you. I will definitely look into that.
Hey, would this camera be good for dance performance like festivals, indoor and darker places? And also for pictures in action. Thanks 😊
Yes this camera can do all those things. But it is a budget camera so you'll have to manage your expectations. For maximum results, especially in low light, a full frame camera is ideal.
@@BeyondTheGame_E what woul you suggest as full frame ?Let's say for a budget £1000 possibly with lense 😬 can be used , much appreciated!
@@dorota5384 I doubt that you'd be able to find a full frame camera with lens with that budget unfortunately. The body alone usually starts around $1,500. Look into the A7C and you might get lucky on a secondhand market. But as I said, the ZV-E10 is good enough, it's just not the best.
Is Sony AVii still good to use for sports photography?
Sorry, I only do video so I don’t know photography specs well enough to answer your question.
Enjoyed the video, but do you think that the ZV-E10 would be a top choice for filming a +90-minute soccer games?
Yes but I would definitely buy an extra battery or two. By the way, here's a complete review video I made about this camera from a sports videography perspective: ruclips.net/video/jSUgCbzV9KE/видео.html
I'm filming +90-minute matches very often. With some luck, the battery can make it. But I soon bought a second battery, which makes it much easier. :)
@@bernharddesch1525 Smart move. The money you save with just one battery is not worth the stress you have all game.
How much do you think the mark 2 will retail for ?
Absolutely no idea.
How do you deal with the rolling shutter issue on the ZV-E10 when panning/tracking a subject as they are in motion? or does this not pose any issue at all?
It’s never created any issues for me. You have to pan your camera much faster than that to get rolling shutter.
@@BeyondTheGame_E Thank you for the timely response. Do you think it would cause issues for tracking objects moving faster, like cars or track runners? I am just trying to understand the extent of how bad the rolling shutter of the ZV-E10 is on more motion-heavy shots. I am currently looking at the ZV-E10 and the a6600 as possible camera options, so I want to know if the extra few hundred dollars would be worth it to buy the a6600 if the rolling shutter on the ZV-E10 is truly an issue.
@@yeetus7649 It's hard to tell because I've never filmed the sports you mentioned and I've never used the A6600. But I also never heard anyone say that they had a great shot ruined by rolling shutter. Rolling shutter does exist but I personally think that it is a very overrated complaint about cameras in general.
@@BeyondTheGame_E Ok thank you so much for the advice that clears up all of my concerns. I love all of your videos about the ZV-E10 and they have helped me a lot with my research on what camera to buy, so thank you for the high quality content and work you put out. I think I am going to stick with your advice about the ZV-E10 and start out my sports videography pursuit with it. Thank you also for the quick responses, it really shows how much you care about your audience and film in general.
@@yeetus7649 I appreciate the great feedback! 🙏🏽
would this be a good camera for soccer content?
With the right lens, it absolutely is.
hi there, i only film basketball games (almost always from the stands in a tight space) using a tripod because i film the entire game. The extent my willingess to fiddle with filming is to pan and zoom and not have to focus and make setting adjustments as Im hopeless at it no matter how much i try to research. Ive been using my Iphone 15 pro in 4k 30fps. I'm going to try to see if my video improves at 1080 60 fps. Do u feel that the Sony EV10 would give me better basketball video quality on a tripod with the recommended Tamron lens you suggested in a previous video is my budget at this time. Thank you for sharing your thoughts
For what you're attempting to do, I would get a camcorder instead instead of a mirrorless camera like the ZV-E10. With a mirrorless camera, you would have to zoom on the lens itself which is not always smooth enough for a 'live broadcast' style of recording. And depending on how far you are from the action, the lens could be too short or too long for your needs. A camcorder will have everything built-in and a much greater zoom range. Just make sure you get one with optical zoom and not digital zoom. A digital zoom is basically what your phone does and quality gets worst as you zoom in.
@@BeyondTheGame_E are there any you would recommend with very good video quality? Is there such thing as 4k high FPS that would be better than my Iphone 15 pro? Thanks so much
here's my iphone 15 pro film. Although Im not going to go messing with anything other than panning and zoom, i had a problem with the light exposure from 1 end to the other. Its really obvious around 45 seconds in if u happen to be willing to see what i mean. ruclips.net/video/LNxxv8-Uk3k/видео.htmlsi=0FA-34Cl3rRnyWF9
Thanks again
@@sumimasn I haven't used a camcorder in over 12 years so I don't know enough about them to recommend one unfortunately. But yes, there are plenty of good options that would be much better than a phone. If you go in our Facebook group and ask for recommendations there, I'm sure you'll get a bunch helpful advice.
@@sumimasn That's not a light exposure issue but a white balance issue. The camera is in AUTO white balance mode so it's constantly adjusting the colors based on the ambient lighting. And since one end is mostly neon lights and the other has huge windows (daylight has a different color temperature than neon lights), therefor you constantly go from a blue image to a yellow image.
Hello, glad I found your page. Your reviews are really great. I am total novice...have only used my iphone but want to take better videos and pictures. My primary goal is to take video of my kids lacrosse, soccer, and baseball games, and then to create highlight reels for them. Would like to post the reels on IG and send to family. Long term the highlight reels could be used for college recruiting. Do you think the zve-10 is the right camera for this purpose? Do you have a post on what to do with a video once it is shot? Like how to edit and post to IG? Also, is this easy to do with zve-10. Thanks so much..dont know where else to get these answers.
Yes the ZV-E10 is a great beginner camera to do this sort of thing. Regarding editing, here's a playlist with a few videos that talk about editing hype reels and give out several tips and tricks very helpful for what you're doing ruclips.net/p/PLlOOBw_mtyeBuRxZQIwxzV-CjT4Cw0BGY&si=2IPpd8thOrLopW1j
Awesome! Thank you. Will purchase with the Tamron lens you recommended. Thanks for the help!@@BeyondTheGame_E
On the adorama site on the link you provided. It gives the option to buy a 16-50mm lens with the camera for $100. I plan to purchase the Tamron lens 70-180mm. Should I buy the 16-50mm lens for $100 as well. I am novice and not sure what I need. Thank you!
@@user-os8rb3gm5s That's probably a kit lens so the quality won't be as good as the Tamron. But it's good to have a wide lens option too.
Is it better in low light than the a6400?
Nah, it’s the same.
So you take the Zv-10 over the a6400 n why ?
Yes and I actually made a video about this exact topic ruclips.net/video/jSUgCbzV9KE/видео.htmlsi=Ljru0Dx2cZeLl0ww
can these cameras do 2-4hours live streaming straight??
I’m pretty sure the ZV-E10 can but I never tested this feature myself.
I bought this because of you and bought the fx30 because of you also. Now I am looking into the fx3 because of you lol
Thanks for trusting me so much!
I like this camera but I feel like there are better options available now for a little bit more money.
There are but I still think that the ZV-E10 is a great place to start though.
Which ones are better options ?
Like names please 😊😊
