Everytime I listen to this, I imagine Mick just sitting in his Studio. The entire room is completely dark except for the spotlight thats on him. He sits there playing this song, knowing this is his last song for Killer Instinct, while a montage of memories plays in the background of his journey when making each theme for Killer Instinct. As the song comes to an end, the spotlight begins to fade and the room goes pitch black.... always brings a damn tear to my eye
+NorCal Nightwing He isn't leaving because money. Crowdfunding won't do anything. Microsoft paid him very well, he's just moving on to other projects. He may still return some day, but for now he wants to branch out and do more. He's been working pretty damn hard on DOOM and I can't wait for its release.
+CrimsonAlphaField Yeah, he's moving on to other projects. Nearly three years on KI is a long time. So far the KI season 3 soundtracks sound good, though.
Legendary Godzilla That Mick you ask of, happens to be Mick Gordon the Music Composer of the Killer Instinct Series, who has now moved onto other projects away from Killer Instinct.
This song is the definition of "Mushin" Mushin is achieved when a person's mind is free from thoughts of anger, fear, or ego during combat or everyday life. There is an absence of discursive thought and judgment, so the person is totally free to act and react towards an opponent without hesitation and without disturbance from such thoughts. At this point, a person relies not on what they think should be the next move, but what is their trained natural reaction (or *INSTINCT*) or what is felt intuitively. It is not a state of relaxed, near-sleepfulness, however. The mind could be said to be working at a very high speed, but with no intention, plan or direction. Absolutely Gorgeous
Incrível como isso me traz uma tremenda nostalgia. Sempre me emociono ouvindo isso. Mick entregou o coração quando compôs a trilha sonora desse Killer Instinct! Sentiremos saudades desse trabalho realizado com a alma!
I was just listening to Shadow Jago’s theme. I somehow didn’t notice or remember the silence afterwards and then this track hit me all at once all over again like a freight train. Sounds just like Hendrix. I love it. I love KI. I hope I see another game in this incredible series before my time is up.
This song sounds like what warriors with PTSD would feel in their hearts looking back at the fighting days. Or maybe in reflection to a brother in arms' funeral.
Interesting thing is one comment had me thinking about Martin Riggs. Also a part of The Instinct theme sounds just like the guitar during Martin Rigg's "suicide" scene.
More like after the company over-promised an entire OST to launch with the CE on release day, while also having prior knowledge of how long Doom 2016's OST took to come out. ID shot themselves in the foot for literally no reason. People would've waited for the OST for months, just like with Doom 2016 and Wolfenstein (made by Machine Games, point still stands). They have only themselves to blame, or whoever made that particular decision at iD/publishing.
@@SalvationCode They would of gotten in trouble with the law if they held it for longer, It's not ID's fault. They originally agreed with Mick for the release and he said it would be fine.
@@Sydnxt They still share the blame for proposing an earlier release date, with full hindsight and knowledge of how long the previous game's soundtrack took to release. It's simple common sense. But what's done is done. Mistakes were made, hope both parties walk away as content as possible.

+Matheus P. 😢
The perfect music video, rock on Mick \m/. Klayton and Tom have shown hope for the future, but god damn it will never be the same without ya.
DayniqSteel I picture a scene from Lethal Weapon or something
Rareware was the best thing in the 90's
I am here txs to Maximillian Dood. #bringbackKI , what a masterpiece of a track.
Same
Me too
Me too Dood
Here because of rebel taxi
I wish we could crowdfund his continued involvement. KI has the absolute greatest soundtrack.

I need this played at my funeral
I hear ya, it would be one heck of an exit...
+Shaquille O'Bryant My exact thought.
Not a dry eye in the house....
What the fuck is your username, dude?
I'm sorry, I cannot get over that pic and username
Bye bye Mick, we'll miss you. :(
h1tm0nl33 Is he done making music for Killer Instinct?
+CrimsonAlphaField yes
+CrimsonAlphaField Yeah, he's moving on to other projects. Nearly three years on KI is a long time. So far the KI season 3 soundtracks sound good, though.
sorry, but who is Mick?
Legendary Godzilla That Mick you ask of, happens to be Mick Gordon the Music Composer of the Killer Instinct Series, who has now moved onto other projects away from Killer Instinct.
A masterpiece performed by a master. Mick, thank you.
Reminds me of a montage of great memories. I'm getting older and this series started the same year I was born

Damn. hell of an outro for a fantastic soundtrack.
The feels, the feels of the Ultra Combo are finally setting in...
Definitely gonna be my funeral song.
And then you'll rise from the dead to exact revenge on corrupt Game Devs through the use of your Killer Instinct.
Metal as hell.
Rip Killer instinct
The restraint and simplicity in this arrangement...utter perfection
Farewell, Mick Gordon. We'll miss you, friend.
What happened?
He left killer instinct
@@The_ChocolateMan1 IoI thought he passed away
@@cajs100 oof its alright we all thought too

Ele arrebentou! Essa outro é sensacional! A antiga já era 10, mas ele conseguiu melhorar.
Nesse Doom 2016, o cara fez uma trilha sonora de cair o queixo
Nobody died, nobody died, nobody died, NOBODY DIED DAMNIT!!! IT'S TOO SAD!!!
what happened....
Nobody died. Yes true no one did... “YET”
Shen Mick Gordon leaves the Killer Instinct team for other projects
Put it on 0.75.
It will triple your feels.
Songs to play when it’s all over
for a minute there I forgot Jimi Hendrix is dead
Glad I'm not the only one getting some Hendrix nostalgia from this.
I felt the same way! It has that "All Along The Watchtower" vibe.
Glad I'm not the only one! ............wait that sounds wrong

this. is. everything.
This song sounds like what warriors with PTSD would feel in their hearts looking back at the fighting days.
Or maybe in reflection to a brother in arms' funeral.
warriors? what do you mean?
all fighters of all kinds
This version always reminds me o the lethal weapon movies for some reason, in addition to being an awesome version of the main theme.
Interesting thing is one comment had me thinking about Martin Riggs. Also a part of The Instinct theme sounds just like the guitar during Martin Rigg's "suicide" scene.
Killer Instinct Theme in the style of Bucket Head.
idk the history of this song guys and ive never played KI before but i love it
If this had another name it would be going out like a boss
Huh, with Mick’s involvement with future doom projects looking shaky after the shoddy mixing of his tracks, this song hits differently.
Correction, after he screwed the company over with deadlines.
Fair enough

Mick, you did a goddamned fine job.

Rock on
Fight on
Forever Mick.
Good ol Mick Gordon. Even when *Doom*ed to other projects, you never let us down.
We'll miss you, Mick. New Doom will never be the same without you.
Killer Instinct Blues
This is slick as fuck
Well it time to say goodbye Mick Gordon 😭
Omfg beautiful..... I love it
so savage! love this version!
Goosebumps!
wow!
I need this song in the credits
If it wasn't for season 2 dropping in 2014, I'd wonder if this was what got MachineGames attention for getting Mick to compose for Wolfenstein.
If you put it at 1.5 speed, it's a lot less sad, but still sad.
Here's to an amazing artist and masterful soundtrack. Goodbye Mick
Reminds me of Lethal Weapon
Melhor Solo 😨😭
this is amazing. i love it
John Mayer has entered the chat
Needs to be much longer.
Fucking Awesome!
Here cause of Pan Pizza
Someone likes SRV.
They don't have a picture of eye-dol?????
No season 3 characters because this was made before then.
Does this actually appear in the game?
So which album is this actually on? I can’t find it anywhere
Ik this is a 1 year old comment but it's on herald of gargos, season 2 album
