Dave Farina - Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 by Liszt (Live at the Stamford Mall)

  • When I was 14, my new teacher Mrs. Murphy had me come to the Stamford Mall to play some Gershwin and Joplin. A year later, with Liszt's famous rhapsody under my belt, she asked me to come back. I know I posted a better version of this from a recital, but I always get a kick out of this version too. There are so many people shopping that pass by wondering what the hell is going on, and they gradually accumulate until the end of the piece where there are many people looking on.

I appreciate the 90s people that they know this masterpiece and enjoy it. I've seen many pianists performed this nowadays; either they didn't enjoy it or they interrupted by clapping before the Friska.

Also, just out of curiosity, have you ever played Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody On a Theme of Paganini?
