So glad to see another video from you guys! That looks soooo good! We have the Camp Chef stove/oven combo and we love it. Take care of yourselves and God bless!
I've always enjoyed the idea of using a disc, but because I travel solo, it is more than I need and seems best suited for two or more people. Good video Cris and so glad to see you posting whenever you are able to.
Hello @MrWinger1951. Yeah, even the "small" discs are a bit on the large side - and they are heavy. While I like the middle ground of size vs. potential portability with this particular disc, it is a bit much for one person. I appreciate your kind words too.
OkieJammer... it was so tasty. I much prefer the smaller disc. It is easier for me to use because of its more manageable size. Thanks for watching and always taking time to say hello.
Cris and Bill, just a note to say that I've ordered the 18" Southwest Disk pan with horseshoe handles through your link. Just FYI so you can confirm your credit. I'm looking forward to using it! WE APPRECIATE YA! 😊
How cool! I hope you enjoy it. We don't make any commission through Southwest Disk. Just realized I didn't mention that in the video. Yikes. I will reorganize the info and links in the video description so that is clear there also.
@@wobblyotteroutdoors Oh, heck. Well, I will add that they shipped it out within an hour with a tracking number. It's rare to get good customer service like this. You two enjoy the rest of your week!
Thank you so much for thinking of us, and appreciating us, and the wonderful well wishes. You do so much for us in many ways! Your video views, likes, and comments help us with RUclips. But most importantly, we appreciate your kindness and well wishes. We always look forward to hearing from you! (Notes: That is exceptionally fast shipping from Southwest Disk. Wow! Also - I updated the video description to make clear the affiliate and non-affiliate links, and apologize for not making that clear earlier.)
@@wobblyotteroutdoors It's so obvious the effort you and Bill give to make these great videos. It's a win-win when we happy subscribers can help in any way we can. 😊
My wife and I bought the Camp Chef with the griddle and grill based on your review a few years ago. I have been wanting a smaller discada and found this one but never pulled the trigger on it. After seeing the actual size compared to the Camp Chef I am sold. I will be placing an order ASAP. Thanks for the video.
Woo hoo! I so hope you enjoy it. Ours has a beautiful ring / resonance to it too. 😁 Now I need to go look up the Camp Chef griddle and grill. Camp Chef makes such amazing and solid stuff.
The grill and griddle are great for 2 people. Can work for more but gets tight. I especially like the griddle though. It is great for cooking breakfast.
Another great idea for our Southwest Disc. Got the 22" and I think I went to Southwest after watching your video couple years back. Get a Wok style spatula for cooking on your Disca works great..😊
You're welcome @thegodream. Thank you for watching. The spatulas are actually made of hardwood. They are 13-inches long and we got them on Amazon. Here's our WOO affiliate link to them on Amazon: amzn.to/4abx4Np I use these spatulas all the time, and like them soooo much! Oh, how very kind of you. You made my day. The Madrid pan is such nice size and a joy to use. Thank you for the well wishes. All the best to you as well.
I just bought a rocket stove and I’m looking into these discs to cook with thank you for your review. I’d like to suggest that you use a high smoke oil like GHEE or avocado oil I think that would help a lot. I season all of my cast-iron with those high smoke oil.
Thanks for all of the great videos:). Your discada videos really helped me decide to snag one. I ordered the 18" Madrid version with a lid just this evening. I've noticed it's fairly popular for folks to attempt making a DIY Scottle using a small Coleman, Ozark, or similar 10k BTU burner setup. I was curious if you had tried using the Madrid on a smaller burner like that as well. I'm tempted to grab this larger Camp Chef Pro 30, but I would love to hear your experience/comparison of cooking on the smaller style burners vs. the larger 30k BTU burner. The portability factor of the smaller setup sounds nice, but I'd imagine these thicker discadas from Southwest Disk perform better with a bit more heat under them as compared with the thinner discada designs like the Skottle.
You're welcome. Thank you for watching and the kind words. I love your question about the 10,000 BTU burner under a Southwest Disk. I haven't tried it - yet. I'll have to figure out how to test that safely. That would be an interesting video. Thanks for the question.

Ohhhh, thank you so much Ray and Amy! We'll, now I can't wait to check out the oven. Camp Chef makes wonderful stuff.

Great video! I am going to order one of the smaller southwest discs now! Edit: just ordered the Madrid with horseshoe handles and the same cooker.
Aw, thank you. And... so very cool! Enjoy!
Oh. Yes. Needed. Looking up this now. Thanks so much, Cris and Bill. Dang .. smells so good! 😊

This is very helpful. I was leaning more toward the griddle of the two., Now I'm more sure. Thank you.

@wobblyotteroutdoors Thanks and I'll look forward to checking out the video:).
I watched my dad make those with horseshoe handles welded with a torch and coat hangers, 52 years ago. Still have one!
That is so cool. What amazing memories to have. Thank you so much for sharing.
Yeah! The shredded cheese
