The video is not meant to show you how to repair your Sony camera just to inform you on the typical SD Card slot problems that we see and repair on a regular basis.

So it is a problem with the way Sony makes their SD card slots?
No, it’s more of a problem with how the SD cards themselves are made. In almost all cases it is caused by the SD cards themselves. The plastic of the SD card brakes or is damaged due to usage or mishandling and then causes damage to the SD card slot. Another issue is when the SD card gets put in to the card slot either upside down or crooked and is forcefully shoved in there. That will also damage the SD card slot. Hope this information helps. Is it possible to change just a slot ,not a main board? In Sony service said that is not possible?

Will do ...thanks a lot . I got one old master and he is quite in it ....just never did this specific repair and he can change slot,just scared how it affect on slot-sowtware -board connections
@@obunic As long as he is using the same card slot and knows how to do it, all should be fine.
If you buy the camera from a store does this cover under warranty

@@VideoOneRepair my a7iii 2nd slot had 2 collapsed metal tabs which allow most of my sd cards but if I try to insert my SanDisk extreme it wont let it insert..?
@@raizmedia249 It sounds like card slot 2 will need to be replaced.
@@VideoOneRepair the issue is that any other sd card such as using and sd adapter and a micro sd card does work but when I try to install specificly only my sandisk extreme it does not want to go in
That is weird that every other card works but your SanDisk card doesn’t work. With that being said it’s either a bad card or a bad card slot. It’s gonna be difficult to say without the camera and SD card not being in front of me to test and check.

I have a samsung video camera, and the teeth in the card slot have got damaged, you can’t get an SD card in any more. I’d love to fix it, but I don’t know how.

@@VideoOneRepair Thank you. No worries... I would have thought, and SD slot was an SD slot, no matter what brand... I thought I’d have a go at fixing it myself - if I break it worse than what it is now, it’s no big deal... but it’s a shame, as it’s such a brilliant video camera.
