    Best video I've seen I like this guy he does a great job. explained it so I could understand. We changed the spark plugs, wires and coil pack, still a misfire on five. Misfire on three is gone. I was thinking about changing the fuel filter, my nephew who is the mechanic said he use injection cleaner for the fuel injectors. He suspects fuel injector.

      @@TheRealRyebredi have the same prob. But a few years back a very good friend and mechenic told me that fords are very sensitive when it comes to plugs. So what i can say is probably change all the plugs but be sure to buy the exact same kind what ever the ford had put in. They have to be the same every where. I mean even should count the number of threads on both.

    On my Pontiac 2004 2-door installing Sparkplug #5 is really hassle / pain and most of the people crack this Sparkplug as I did during the installation, without knowing. Mine was apparently a tiny crack and survived for while. however, after getting P0305 code recently my assumption was that Sparkplug #5 is brand new and did not check it. I switched the Coiles but still getting the P0305 code. So finally after checking wire and coil I decided to check the sparkplug which was real pain so after pulling it out (after several painful attempts) I found that the plug is cracked so after replacing it I got fixed my problem. Therefore, do dont ever cross it to you head that your sparkplug is new so there is no issue.

    A 1999 Grand Marquis has no OBD code to indicate an fuel injector's electrical connection has failed. Misfire can also come from a fuel injector failure. I have a 1999 Grand Marquis. An injector electrical connector had somewhat slipped out of its socket because the connector release tab had broken off. Not noticing this issue with the broken release tab, I'd check and later replace that cylinder's coil pack and would inadvertently press on injectors electrical connector which would temporarily reestablish connection. The engine would run perfectly for a while until vibrations disconnected the coil pack again. Very frustrating. Finally noticed the issue when the process of elimination led me to consider the fuel injectors as a source of misfire. Realizing how to disconnect the injector's electrical connection revealed the problem behind the issue.

    Great tip to swap the coil to another cylinder to see if code moves with it. I pulled my plug and regapped it. It was dry and cleaned burned so misfire could not be that bad. Plugs have many too so might swap the plug to another cylinder too. If code stays on cyl 5 I may swap the injector. When a problem occurs intermittently it can be a pain in the ass to find it.

    My Jeep Wrangler has had this warning for a few days now. I noticed it the morning after I spent $50 on gasoline. Maybe that is the cause. I am hoping to run low on fuel and get another fill-up to alleviate the problem. Maybe I am being too optimistic. Maybe I am doing more damage to my engine? The Jeep seemingly runs fine. That dashboard light is the only thing noticeably different.

    Very well done video...informative and easy to understand. But, would a vacuum leak or fuel filter/line issue affect a single cylinder, and why specifically #5? Also, what about the oft over-looked and sinister fuel cap? An integral component to your fuel/emissions system, a faulty (vented) fuel cap could throw the entire system into chaos! But i digress....is there something about #5 that causes it to misfire when numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 are chugging along? Is it a middle child syndrome? I've had all spark plugs, and coil boots replaced, yet the engine light continues to light up. My '07 Honda Pilot is in exploratory surgery at the dealer, as we speak. I'm beginning to think this issue is seeping in from the quantum realm, that there's an energetic anomaly in the Force and it's throwing #5, the numerological representative of balance out of whack! Where's Yoda when we need him!?

    • @abitagirl1962
      @abitagirl1962 2 года назад +1

      @Picard sucks The dealer couldn't figure it out. I eventually sold that car and got a Toyota. Wish i had a better response for you. Seriously, it seems like a chronic manufacturing defect, as I see other folks also reporting similar issues. I believe all the computer mumbo-jumbo has made it all too complicated. I know i will get some hate for wishing to be back in the day of carburetors, but guess i'm just old school. Best of luck if you, or your Pilot, is experiencing this syndrome.

    It could be more than those 3 too. If all 3 is fine and it's still having that code P0305 then it's most likely a Cam Shaft Position Sensor. If that's fine too; then it's most likely a Oxygen Sensor in your Catalytic Converters. Head gaskets and even Intake Gasket leaks are common and can cause fluid to leak out of the heads/intake and seep into the spark plug hole causing the Spark plugs to get wet thus a misfire.
    I've also know a timing issue could be the cause from bad timing Chains which is a very expensive fix and in some vehicles its better to replace the whole engine than fix a timing chain issue (aka: Ford 4.6L and 5.4L Motors). To check this; go at a moderate speed on the interstate say 60mph then just Floor the piss out of it. If it takes off immediately then the timing is fine if it has a long delay then goes its a timing problem at which point if you have the motors mentioned above replace the vehicle/motor it's actually cheaper that way.

      Mine runs pretty darn good one day then doesn't the next, almost always have to prime the fuel pump 2or 3x to start though. It's operating as it should I think, just replaced the fuel pump, but same problem still occurs. It reads cylinder 5 and 6 misfire
      Bank 2 lean... Changed a couple coil packs and still same issues.. sometimes it'll lose almost all power and I can barely press.the gas or it'll stumble and die. Other days it'll accelerate almost 50-60% but never really 100%. It bucks under low-mild acceleration almost always, but generally idles fine. I'm stumped

    The first two things that you mentioned wouldn't cause a misfire in just one cylinder you're misleading people if it's a fuel injector yes it will cause a misfire in just that one cylinder as well as the spark plug or coil in that one cylinder if you have a vacuum leak it will cause a misfire and other cylinders as well as a faulty fuel filter

  • @rockstone5313

    could also be low compression on that cylinder. if it's just a miss fire on one cylinder, it would not be a vacuum leak or bad fuel filter that would make a miss fire on all the cylinders, not just one. could also be a valve not seating completely, a bad lifter, or that cylinders rocker arm needing to be adjusted .

      John: I know this is an old thread but have you still had good luck with just changing that injector? Like did it last? I replaced plugs, #5 coil and pigtail to injector because we saw a bare wire thinking it was arcing we replaced it, but not the injector itself, and the code only pops up after Ive driven the car for 40 minutes. If I stop at a store then get in, restart it, engine light comes on and engine shuts some cylinders down. If it sits over night the light goes off and it runs fine so this is an intermittant problem and most likely not a damaged cylinder. I ordered an injector, hoping this solves the issue.

    • @richardhudson7206
      @richardhudson7206 2 года назад +2

      If you have a pan of gasoline sitting outside and throw a match (spark) in it and you don't think combustion will occur because there is no compression, you are in for a BIG surprise!
      Compression is not required for combustion.
