The alternator hot current wire usually connects directly to the starter hot solenoid terminal . Check for loose or broken terminal end . Delco Remy manufactured alternators are the best and are cover by a national warranty . I feel that the 750CCA rated battery lasts longer than the 925CCA batteries .
I always use stainless steel nuts and screws and the anti seize lubricant will reduce contact with metal but good video....I upgraded my to a 28SI 200amp
Having low voltage issue with my truck, took alternator off had it tested reads 14.0 with no load and 13.8 with load. New batteries and check my wires from batteries to starter from starter to alternator all reading good. Stumped on whaty problem could be
I had this issue a few weeks ago myself, my batteries were 10 months old at the time and had low voltage yet my alternator read 14 volts while I tested it . I took my batteries to Autozone to have them load tested and they came back fine . I was stumped , I spent 2 days going over the truck looking for a bad wire . Keep on mine my truck is automatic , so low voltage means the transmission will not engage under 11.5 volts . So I put jumper cables on my batteries from my pickup truck that has 2 900 amp batteries in it . My transmission started working again. . I took my batteries back out , and went to a local ford dealership where I bought my batteries, on their machine I got a full printout on the batteries for free , every battery was bad !! From what I figured out the voltage regulator inside the alternator cooked the batteries, the alternator was reading fine at first but keeping my volt meter on a long amount of time I found it had short bursts of power spikes . So those spikes over time cooked my batteries, so I replaced the alternator and the batteries were still under warranty so I got 4 new batteries free . Hope this helps you out !! Thanks for watching !!!!
Emiliano Reyes I have 4 , 1000 cold cranking amp batteries, so no , but one I saw what it was charging at I knew . Now if the alternator completely stopped charging, yes the lights would go dim , and I have had that happen in the past . I was able to still drive a few hrs home , I was lucky that I was only a few hrs away at the time . Another time I was able to make it to a dealership and changed the alternator in the parking lot at the dealership. In oh large trucks that drive many miles every day, nothing holds up long . An alternator may only last me a few years or do if I am lucky .
