I completely agree. We all should support small companies and not engage with “clickbaity” videos. And besides that, on other types of content, we have all the AI-based videos with stolen content - now we have to do research to find the original sources of things. I have started to mute AI channels on suggestions. Happy new year - I love your sounds and have bought some too. I am glad you are here!

I completely agree. I think today's negative online culture has permeated every type of consumer item. We are in such a wonderful era for synths and sound design, and we should be eternally thankful to these companies and the gifted individuals behind them. I believe it boils down to people being spoiled these days. I used to subscribe to several forums and Facebook groups, but I don't bother anymore, as all people do is nitpick and complain. It's healthier to limit oneself to quality channels like yours, support them, and spend the rest of the time working on music!

@ i use flux and magnific and often thousands of words for prompts describing many aspects. Those actually don’t use ai yet though i heard people have good experience also letting ai help there. I sometimes use some of my old photos as input too, that can be a huge boon. With good and upscaled images you can get better videos in the end. Currently i mainly use kling for the videos and upscale them after a bit with topaz. For what i do they currently have the best quality. Couldn’t try sora or google yet as they’re not available here but they seem to be better for realism and i am more for surrealism after all :) all this changes quite fast, so it may be different in a couple months. I’m so happy that I can try to create worlds now already - can recommend for the fun alone. Soon we’ll have also 3d assets and character movement which may make interactive worlds possible! :) Some people will hate however as they see the downsides and there are many like with any tech - but being able to do this os so huge. I spent countless years of my life trying to create images/videos/3d that don’t even come close to those videos now. It’s both scary and amazing at the same time!
Well said, Scott. For the video that I think prompted this, once the actually affected individual corrected it, it should have just been removed (and possibly replaced with a correction), instead of just pinning a comment. BTW nice to put a face to the person behind some of my favorite patches!
FWIW: Florian has said it was a copyright claim (one of 3 strikes in 90 days) and done on behalf of TE, but he does not know if it was TE, someone acting on their behalf, or even just an automated bot, nor does he know the precise reason, but speculates it is because he used a piece of their music: not a sample, a whole track. He also said that if the track was created by someone for TE then they may have no option other than to issue a copyright claim to protect that creator. Anything beyond this is speculation at this stage.
Believe it or not, I have had the same for a 10 second riff I have played in a patch set demo. I either mute it or contact the copyright holder to clarify. and that is only a 10 second piece of music played live on a synth with no backing instruments. I would have assumed that would be classed as fair use in the middle of a 50 minute demo, but unfortunately sometimes not. I am glad to see the OP has removed the damaging video. Hats off to him for that. :)
This new trend of making a god out of someone that could not really get anywhere in life in the industry he chose to be or anywhere else and because of that he himself is full of resentment, lots of anger, but still has the grandiosity syndrome and big narcissism because they always thought they were more then what they really were and still are, which is probably the reason they didn’t go too far, but then came along RUclips and right at the decline of their life and carrier they get some recognition, some spotlight, and it brought some mixed fillings and truly even more frustration that this small fame happened so late, really is a recipe to create a monster troll. I have no idea if you have anyone in mind or not but I watch all type of content from music to news and there are so many men that I see losing themselves with the little power they now have with their following.

I generally call people out on commenting on a product unless they actually own it; the amount of trash that was being spouted over the TE- OP-XY when it was launched. I hadn't really been caught by the TE bug until that product, so I was really keen to see what it could do; pretty much every video I found in the first few days ended up being a 'reaction' rather than a review, although most baited you into thinking they were actually reviews.

It's really just to remind us all when we watch something, or hear someone else's view on something. We need to research before sharing or assuming the OP's content is 100% Accurate, we need to remember it is only one person's view. haha, thanks, No specific video or channel, just a dangerous trend that seems to be happening, none of us want to see synth developers (hardware or software) collapse because misinformation goes viral. No amount of likes, subscribes or views justifies public lashings of any company unless they do something that is genuinely wrong.

What might be equally true is that criticizing companies makes them get their shit together and release better products. In general I feel like people should be more demanding of music companies and musicians in general. Mediocrity has no place in music.

The narrative is we as decent human beings are responsible to fact check that any bit of information is indeed true prior to casting any judgement or sharing something that could be complete lies. If it is found to be true and it needs sharing then share it. But not before making sure the facts are correct. That is not misinformation, it’s a simple decent fact of life.

My experience is that regardless of what the internet says about products and companies people will buy what they want. How many influential youtubers trash behringer? Yet almost every setup I see contains at least one of their recent synths or drum machines. People will buy what they want even if they are shamed for doing so.
@ completely agree , that’s very true. However, not every company has the same leverage or financial backing as behringer. The majority of our synth developers are small companies run by very few people, This was more aimed at trying to protect the smaller fish from unjustified manhunts due to certain channels creating a storm just for views. Again it’s only my personal view on it, but in any walk of life, spreading false rumours can be extremely detrimental to whoever they are aimed at. And you are 100% correct that music has no place for any of this. That is exactly why I think if we were all more mindful, the world in general would be a better place. (Online or offline) 😊
Seems like the world is losing it's mind on a bigger scale then I ever could have imagined, like a horrible movie. I have saved RUclips subscription page as my start page so I can't see all the misery on the home page and only see what I signed up for. My phone has become a distant device, like back in the day with those old ones, it is on a table and only picked up when it rings. We don't watch the TV any more, only some Asian drama series on pretty unknown apps like Viki and iQiyi to get away from all the western drama. News had been a no go sinds that horrible time. Life is better this way, less worries.
Indeed Brian, Cancel culture at its finest. The world continues to lash out at the wrong people while the real bad eggs remain in their golden chairs. Treat all news as fake news until we have done our research. If we can't be bothered to research, we then need to refrain from any kind of judgement, take it with a pinch of salt and move on :)
I completely agree with you Scott. Not gonna support that. Small companies (like my own aerospace company even) have a much more difficult time supporting product development costs. It’s frickin hard competing with the industry giants. I expect to pay more, and am willing to pay more, for the kind of innovation that small creative companies can deliver. We can vote with our wallets, no need to create hostility.
