I really appreciated your comments and didn't see it as "being preachy" at all. We tend to ignore what truly matters most like it's too late to right the ship. As a cancer survivor, I can tell you it's never too late to make things right. Best regards, Anthony and thanks for being sincere.
"Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds" is the official USPS creed. Glad to hear all these messages!
Positivity in adversity. It's a powerful reminder about what is really important, but not one you would wish on anybody. My heart goes out to all caught in the midst of this.
All power to you Anthony, you are a good and decent person and that has been obvious all the time, but now accentuated with these new circumstances. You must be hearing about people you know (WE know....) in the broader community .... who have to deal with massive loss. This must be intense. Big love to you and thank you, Sam McNally, Australia.
Dear Anthony. I have always loved your videos since discovering them last year. The love for and knowledge of music and of its production, the extraordinary insights into the history of wonderful classics, the super intelligent interviews with other legends, the deep knowledge of music, and music tech especially, have brought much joy to this non tech non musician, simply through their excellence.. It's no surprise to me that you are responding to this unspeakable crisis with grace and love. God bless and keep you and yours, your neighbours, your community. I look forward to your continuing output in happier times. David, UK.
I think losing those musical instruments would be sad. Each one is a piece of history. However you've already done a great thing by making these videos - recording that history. I think this also says a lot for not putting your eggs in one basket. By this I mean local HDDs, photos, etc can be at risk. Finding more ways to store these away from risk will help preserve history.
Often it takes adversity to bring people together. I’m in the UK and I remember my grandparents talking about the ‘Blitz spirit’ when strangers supported each other through terrible times. You are a good man who cares about other people as well as a fantastic artist and teacher. Thank you for everything you have done and still do today. And stay safe.
Tragedies often reveal the worst in people but much more often the best in them that is why we must always keep hope in the good. We all know that your humility, your dedication, did not wait for this difficult moment to express themselves towards your neighbor. Stay safe dear Anthony.
I pray that you don't lose anything that you have in your studio, or elsewhere, because of the light, resource and encouragement you have been to all of us in this music industry!! 🙏🏾💪🏾🙏🏾
Thank you Anthony for this! Literally sitting next to my gear praying these crazy days will end soon for all of us. The idea of separating me from the gear really hit home. Also so grateful for the wonderful friends and neighbors in this city. Be safe everyone!
I just want to share with you how much your channel has motivated me to be more of a musician. I am into synthesizers because of you and your sounds through the years. L.A. will recover and all of those instruments will sing again. My instruments talk because you are a part of synthesizer history and share your stories. Thank you for all you do and have done throughout the years. I would love to see all independent artists who have been inspired by you and your channel to make available a track that can be mixed on a CD for a fundraiser to help rebuild L.A. and wherever else sales could help. Let’s show the younger generations how some old school gear heads can put together a mix CD to promote a better world. It was done in the past. Let’s get physical media back out there to do some good for the people.
Such a harrowing thing to watch from afar, I can't imagine what it must be like for all those affected. Stay safe Anthony & team, and my very best wishes to you all.
You, your family and all our friends and loved ones in L.A. are in our thoughts right now. Stay strong, stay positive and know that we are here for you. Love to you all xx
Thanks Anthony. It’s what we all need right now. Gratitude and fellowship in adversity, and then, as you say, remembering to be the same way once this has passed. Thanks for the inspiration, and wishing you and your family the best that can come out of this situation.
Im glad you are well Anthony. From first reading your contributions in Keyboard magazine in 1986 as a kid to watching your fantastic videos - you are a human with great talent and a clearly decent person and you have inspired and motivated many of us over the years. Thank you.
In times like these, words often feel inadequate. The city and its people are carrying a heavy burden, and the path ahead may seem unclear. But please know that you are not alone even in the darkest hours. Hearts ache with yours, hands ready to lift you up, and a world that holds space for your grief and resilience. Take it one moment at a time. Allow yourself grace. And when hope feels distant, let the strength of those around you help you carry the burden. You're loved, and the city and its people will find light again.
You have been blessed and are a blessing to us all thank you. So inspiring. Be safe start over if you must, to do even bigger better things. GOD bless.
You speak wise words, Anthony, but admittedly we are all connected with you being connected with those objects too. Because of the art that comes from that connection. Sending good SoCal vibrations up from San Diego, man. ☀️🐻
Best to you and all your team and keep those precious treasures safe! You have already made the lives of many of us in your audience better, by educating and entertaining us with your wisdom, skills and the love for synths we share.
You are one of the beautiful people., i worry for everyone in LA but especially the artists and musicians. Hoping you all stay safe. You mailman's words are a famous quotation i think? Worthy of being set to music when times are better. Love from the U.K.
Kind message. I'm glad you're OK. And your beautiful instruments are OK. And we love our mailman. They work hard. And I hope your RUclips channel makes a million bucks.
I've realized that my heroes were and are people I didn't know were a part of something beautiful and shame on me for not knowing sooner. I'm so happy I know who you are. I'm happy I get to send these words of gratitude to you in this amazing day and age where that is possible. I know objects don't matter but..... the 8-voice and 2600? Maybe a little? 🤣 Just thought I'd bring some levity in the room. Stay safe and remember, by giving as you have given to us, don't forget it's okay to receive when you are in need. You gave to this family and now you have thousands upon thousands of people who sincerely care about you. With love and appreciation -- Evan
It’s very humbling. I lost my mother last year to dementia, and I feel so blessed. I’m originally from the UK but now live in Phoenix, AZ, as my wife is from here. When I was in my 20s and 30s, I didn’t really think about these things. But now, at 45, having lost both my parents, I realize-just as you said, Anthony-how important it is to reach out to people, friends, and family. Don’t take anything for granted because you never know what tomorrow will bring. You can have all the possessions in the world, but they mean nothing. Tell your friends you love them. Call your family and tell them too. I’ve been watching your RUclips channel since day one and have always appreciated what you do. It’s clear it comes from the heart. But now, after getting to see your true character, I love and respect you even more! Prayers to everyone affected by what has happened. I know it’s hard to believe right now, but good always comes out of bad. Love to you all!
Im going through that right now. Mom has dementia since 2018. Its been hard but also so full of regrets. I'd wish I'd take more time to talk to her. But in this case, yes, a good reminder that all the small petty things are just that. Events like this brings out whats really important. Be safe!
Bless you, my friend, we are all pulling for you here and hoping for the best. God bless everybody who lost their lives and their homes and Momentos through all of this. And especially all of the workers who have been dedicating all of their time and energy towards putting out these fires and helping others. As you said, this is the time where we see the human spirit at its highest. Gathering around to help those we do and don’t know. Simply out of the kindness of our hearts. Be safe and God bless.
I hope and pray🙏🏾that nothing touches you, your home and equipment. Stay safe Anthony, you're the man!🎹🎶🏆 We all see the trouble a lot of you are in out there in Cali and understand.
What a beautiful line/slogan. And by the way, it's sung by Laurie Anderson in the FANTASTIC song "Oh Superman", didn't know it was an actual slogan. All the best and much love Anthony.
It’s so surreal… and yet so powerful… to hear you speak about objects and their meaning. I experience this struggle… that I love to own all that gear… and at the same time have the feeling that the objects own me. Like my first drumkit that is only taking space but never played… and too many synths. That being said! I hope you and your synths will survive. Stay safe!
Thank you Anthony for your words of Love and wisdom. Let us better ourselves throughout all thèses fires with compassion and conscience. Care to you, your relatives and you all. 🙏
this fire catastrophy in LA makes me really sad, I wish you and all people out there all the best and strength to get through these bad times, Greetings from Germany
Watching this unfold from across the pond, and it's truly heart-breaking. Hearing from many friends in LA and the surrounding area, we can only hope that you are all going to be okay, and your families are also okay.
This made me smile. Going to pass that smile on. Didn’t expect this level of emotion from you amigo, a really pleasant surprise...and a great lesson, thanks 👏🏻
Thank you for sharing words of hope. May we all have eyes to see and ears to hear in the midst of this difficult trial. Continued prayers for you and your family.
My mind is in your situation and I hope we won't have any other losses. Regarding your message i totally agree, I stopped using my car and do almost everything by foot for that reason... By foot you get to interact and know your neighborhood. Thanks a lot, be strong and safe... (Unfortunately in Greece we have gone through similar situations and i really understand what you are going through...) I wish you the best.
What I learned in live.....when I want to separate myself of a situation or person I first must connect with the feelings that come along with them. Much love you you and your family, Anthony ❤ Check up on your friends and tell them that you love them. This right here. You have no idea how much I - and likely many others - needed to hear this today. You’re absolutely right!
Glad to see you're safe, send you all hopes and faith from Germany! BTW: We met at Superbooth last year, I was the guy telling you the bad news about the moon modular guy's passing. It was great to meet you there and I am looking forward to meet you again this year.
Really good vibes. You are a lovely person. I have thought about donating a couple of synths to people who lost their equipment. But for now, will just donate to local charities.
Oh, my dear Anthony. Good to hear from you. Please stay safe. Yeah, of course we hope your equipment can be preserved, but we always will keep following you. Greetings from The Netherlands.
