    I enjoy this art style. Personally, I've always been more fond of stylized, 2D styles than the hyperrealism that many other people seem to like. To me, that style always seems to age really badly and look kind of uncanny, while well designed stylistic games feel more timeless and charming. So I'm excited for this.

I love stylized characters more than realism anyway, but some of these people asking for realism over and over is reminding me of people who see some wonky realistic art and think of it better than really good, professional cartoony art just because it’s realism. They are both hard to do and both good styles, but some people really don’t see the value in stylized art.

    does this mean when townies are generated they'll have random number values of each body part? I love that SO MUCH BETTER than just having random sims generated with the same basic presets. this way random sims can actually look one of a kind and unique from each other instead of all variations of the same thing. I still think it's a good idea to have presets but I would love it if randoms were generated with number values!!!

      The patreon members are going to be made into paras, meaning we're going to have a pool of hundreds of natural looking people/pets already being used for townies. I imagine this pool will be reused in the paramaker as well. This could mean the autogenerated people are going to look incredibly natural, (again this isn't confirmed)

    • @Zoe-xt6hp

      @@eris7889 the difference is that the sims 4 uses presets, so the facial features aren't modified. This kind of character customization is actually leagues ahead of the push and pull method. You could essentialy fit as many nodes into the para and the display, essentially giving you an infinite amount of customizability, precise editing, and without you forgetting where the node is or accidentaly clicking the wrong node which are common problems with the push and pull method (istg the amount of times I had to go back to a website of a slider mod just because I forgot where the slider was located at).

    • @skysplash8
      @skysplash8 2 года назад +37

      I've noticed it's sort of a combo of Sims 3 and 4. In 4 you have to do the push and pull, while in 3 there are categories of sliders you can choose from. Paralives just combined them so you can do both so it's the best of both worlds!!

    • @vaingirls9719
      @vaingirls9719 2 года назад +40

      yeah, people have been praising the push & pull method, but I always found it a bit annoying 'cause it's unclear what exactly you're adjusting and you can't be super precise (while here you can even use exact numbers, yay!).

      "You could essentialy fit as many nodes into the para and the display,"
      Uh not with the game you are getting. If the devs code in that system you just described... sure.. but otherwise none of what you are saying is in the game lol.
      You want a sculpting tool with memory features. Better off just asking them to allow you to import your face you sculpted in 3d onto the vector system responsible for movement. There were games like that in the past you know - ones which allowed you to import your own art and graphics in. Actual customization - it never caught on cause the average customer isn't smart enough to know about modelling software or able to learn to use it well.

    • @siuol_ly6141
      @siuol_ly6141 2 года назад +7

      @@agnidas5816 The devs obviously won't include every single possible node since it would take too much time and resource. I was thinking of this in a "modding" sort of perspective, one in which they(modders) could possibly add those nodes. The Sims 4 works somewhat like this where individual modders seem to create their own push and pull nodes based off of what I've seen.
      And yeah, kinda agree with the memory sculpting feature. I played Skyrim before and Racemenu has this feature to some extent. The hard part is, sculpting really takes skill to do, and making attractive characters is incredibly difficult. My Himbo character only existed because I downloaded some presets ;-; sculpting from scratch with the basic model was hell. It could probably work with much more complicated features but as you said, people really don't take the time to learn how to use more complicated stuff.

    I love that sizing has numbers associated with it and if you want a specific look or want to replicate the same look you can just use the same numbers its one of the things that frustrated me about the Sims 4 pull and drag feature… I’m always in awe every time I see this game and can’t wait for the next update!!

    Coming back to this to say: I was already instantly willing to pay money just for the Paramaker but after having spent a month or so searching for custom sliders in TS4 I can now appreciate this even more, especially since there are so many different sliders for front and side view! The more angles you can customize, the more detailed a character can get. Even if it's something as simple as having different widths/thicknesses for arms and legs from front and side!
