Nice! About halfway through season 2 they REALLY hit their stride and the show gets incredibly good.
They hit their stride from the beginning of season 2!
@@fosterco they found a good approach, but they were still figuring out the characters. The show steadily improves throughout season 2 and doesn't really become the Parks and Rec we all love until season 3.
@@fosterco I would say the first appearence of two new characters is when Parks & Rec truely starts to shine. The highs during early episodes are still bangers, but overall the episodes can be a bit inconsistent I'd argue. Once it gets going tho, it just doesn't stop.
The episode with Fred armison is when the show became hilarious to me

Like what others have said, halfway through season two the show finds itself and becomes great. Hang in there it’ll be worth it.
Just power through these first 6 and you'll be rewarded with a top show!

Andy (Chris Pratt) was written to just be hated and they planned to drop him after season 1, but he wormed his way into our hearts and they kept him as a character.
Just as a heads up, and I'm sure everyone is going to mention it, it gets significantly better as S2 progresses and when it hits it's stride, this is genuinely one of the best shows ever made.
I absolutely adore this show and I can't wait to see you guys react to it all.
And I should have read the comments first because literally everyone is saying exactly this haha.
I originally ignored this show thinking it was a pale imitation of The Office. Till my brother, who worked in local Indiana government at the time, insisted it was shockingly accurate and I had to check it out.
One of my top five shows of all time. ❤
And while it didn’t primarily shoot in Indiana, they occasionally go on location. Super fun to see familiar spots!
ill say it seemed like they were trying at first to be similar to the office but once i think s2 or 3 when a specific character is gone the whole tone of the show changes
This is one of those shows which gets dramatically better after a season or two, some of the characters are completely unrecognizable in the upcoming seasons, in a good way!
I've never understood why people are lukewarm towards the first six episodes...they are all great. I agree the series gets significantly greater in the second season because the characters around Leslie "soften" towards her and are less harsh but still sarcastic and funny. It's a phenomenal show.
I'd forgotten how funny this can be especially once you get further in and get to know the characters. 😂
This show is similar to Sunny in Philly. There is an addition to the cast coming up in the next season and once the new characters show up this show really takes flight

Yay!! I love Parks and Rec even more than The Office. The first season is a bit rough so hang in there! In season 2 they hit their stride and it just gets better and better from there.

It only gets better. Season 2 is where they find their selves as a show.

Just bought this and rewatched the whole show and I will say, this show is significantly better and more consistent than The Office, and I love The Office.

A deleted scene in the pilot had Ron trying to get a private sector job, only to find out that jobs were so hard to come by that his connection wanted to get a job from him.

Your expectations should be high but lower them for the first season and a half . It takes a min for this show to start cooking but it’s def worth it

Grew up watching this with my mom while it was coming out, on of my favorite shows ever. Definitely takes a season to hit their stride but it is a fantastic show.
Michael Shur's first show was the US version of _The Office._ He made the initial mistake of trying to make Steve Carrell too much like Ricky Gervais. This was his second, and he tried to turn Leslie Knope into a female Michael Scott, which also didn't work. For _Brooklyn Nine-Nine_ and _The Good Place,_ he learned his lesson and let them be their own thing, and they were good out of the gate.
Gents, I'm surprisingly surprised we're here, but I shouldn't be. Of course, this was where we would go eventually. After Ted Lasso and Always sunny, I'm thrilled this is where we land. I know you love community (great show) and there will always be office style shows, but there's only one Ron Swanson. Now I have to start this journey all over again, I'll prepare for rampant alcoholism, meat consumption and weird crushes that come out of nowhere. Let the games commence.
Pilots and 1st seasons are always a little rough. Remember It's Always Sunny needed to add Danny Devito or face Cancelation?

Please, please, please do all of Parks and Recreation. The first season (six episodes) is a bit confused about the assignment. The second gets progressively better until it gets awesome.
And then you get season after season of weird, hilarious comedy coupled with more heart than any show outside of Ted Lasso. Cheers, Lads. 🥃
Also, the theme song is arguably the most cheerful piece of music in history.
Lesley is such a great protagonist to follow. i feel like her positivity is infectious.

I had a chance to move to work in Sydney, I tried but the company I worked for picked another. Anyhow, I was determined if I did I was going to go completely bogan if given the chance. Point is, check out Trailer Park Boys; its about Canadian's versions of bogan. What a life.

Love Parks and Rec especially Ron and April. But first season is a bit ropey at times but I feel that's common.
Even though I do enjoy the first season, it gets so much better as it goes on.
Season 1 is arguably the worst season of Parks and Rec. Season 2 they really hit their stride and don’t stop. This show has one of the greatest finales I have ever seen. You’re in for a treat.

Parks is excellent choice you guys. By the way I suggest you start watching two episodes in a row for sitcoms.

This show probably has my most hated season 1 for any show I love it took literal years to finish season 1 then they almost immediately flipped it in season 2
Season 1 not that bad, and it's only 20 minutes (six) episodes.

The first season and a half is really really good. The show has a steep fall off for the rest of the seasons though. 🤥
The old guy that stood up in the meeting and said that he was finally out of jail is actually Loudon Wainwright III, he's an old folk singer. He did the song called dead skunk in the middle of the road 🙂
