    So you use the same water instead of pumping in fresh water? What’s the difference between that and just using an air pump?

      Thanks for asking! The main difference is the capacity of bait that the circulation head can sustain. For bait that need high amounts of oxygen such as ladyfish, the recirculation head is superior. So they do serve the same purpose, also a pump can be added to pump new water in if desired, however with my boat setup, i do not have a desire to drill an intake into my hull at this time

    Nice setup! I'm looking to make a live well to hold pinfish and that's the exact size cooler I was planning on using. Did it hold up for you? No leaks?

      It has worked well for me so far, i have only been able to use it about 6 times since making it, but so far no leaks. Holds pinfish really well, kept 2 or 3 dozen alive for 8 hours on one trip.
