If Lexus is chosen to debut, she’ll be the very first Hmong-American person to join the K-pop industry. I am so proud to see a Hmong sister take a step into this. So many of us grow up wishing to be a part of this industry, but with so many shortcomings within our own traditions and culture, we are never able to fully grasp it. The Hmong people are an ethnic minority from Laos, Thailand, Vietnam, and China who live deep in the mountains, far away from civilization. The few of us who made it to the USA escaped war and genocide. Our history is very devastating, but to see a hmong girl like Lexus following her dreams and appearing on A2K makes me so extremely proud!!!

this is the first time I could watch a KPOP content without needing subtitles on. JYP is the best, I can understand him speaking English, I don't know if LSM or YG speaks English this well
K-pop is a blend of the Japanese idol business concept and American boy girl band pop culture. This American group is just JYP's local American girls group that will be made with K-pop style training and concept like Japan's NiziU. Japanese idols were also influenced by French Ye-Ye-Girl, and as JYP's self-proclaimed ideal girl group is the Spice Girls, it doesn't mean much to divide K-pop or pop into categories in the current idol culture. For K-pop to truly develop globally, all Korean entertainment companies should prioritize entertainment itself, such as Nintendo games, rather than nationalism.
Camilla and Lexus left a strong impression on me, singing Adele is not easy but she still did it you can see that she was nervous but who wouldn’t and Lexus she never trained to sing but she did an amazing job hope they can both make it ❤ plus Kendall looks like Nina from NiziU right?

You know what I like about this? EVERYTHING! JYP is DEAD ON with his criticism, but he's polite and not nasty unlike a bunch of US reality shows. It's wholesome and fun.
It's because JYP is actually trying to make an amazing group as opposed to American talent competition shows that do stuff for views as opposed to actually finding and nuturing talent.
The first Dallas girl alone, Camilla, is so talented, and one advice from JYP and she got MUCH better. To notice things like that, he’s really passionate into music. And he knows what he’s talking about. I wonder how these kids will adjust to the Kpop training setting.

To make a such drastic change and stop after 12 years of perfecting your Craft is the most hardest thing you will ever do in your Life. If you progress you know you are on the right path. Lol at least you're still young enough, how stupid that they turned anyone over 17 away. Rumors are there will be an E2K if this is successful but that might just be a fan's wish, and this group hasn't even debuted so let's see. But there will probably be more projects like this, SBS had international Universe Ticket auditions earlier this year. In my eyes you're too young but I still wanna be honest, if you think this might be for you even in the slightest, train more and look out for more auditions. I regret not getting into dancing etc at a young age and now that the kpop world is finally getting more "inclusive" (if just for the sake of making even more money), I'm too old (aka in my 20s lol). So obviously this is a big step but if you truly consider this this might be your only chance. The next years will be filled with new projects but who knows if they'll be as successful as the companies want them to be. So might just hop on the train while it's driving (or something haha). Although JYPE is probably busy for now and by the time A2K gets of the ground it's almost time for a new Korean gg. So might wanna look into other companies, or again other new projects like SBS Univetse Ticket.
Lexus stands out for me. Aside from having nice tone and a good performance out of all the contestants she seems very humble, kind and down to earth haha she really got me there❤
I'm already liking Lexus, she'll have my support 100%! Her dancing is amazing and her singing is pretty well even if she didn't get any training with her voice!
Can’t wait to see how they have improved. Favorite moment has to be Camila’s improvement right after JYP’s advice. That comes from someone who took the advice and execute it perfectly. All the other contestants did really well too. I am rooting for Camila and Lexus.
This is *really* exciting. The way JYP approached mentoring the trainees in Nizi Project was truly inspiring to me, and this could mean a group that my friends here in the US would actually know about! What worries me is how American contestants will relate to JYP's style--will there be a clash of cultures?
JYP will try to not affect it but...his training method he won't change it ( Republic Records I don't know about their management tho 😅 ) . They will be based on American anyway so it's up to them ( tho if they at kcon or JYPe I believe they expect them to observe and try their style ) . Outside korea or JYPe I don't think they care 😂
I think the contestants should now by now where they are going so "clash of cultures" is not an option here. The one who are goint to participate in this competition/project at least shoul've done their home work and researched about Kpop, how Kpop industry runs, the companies envolved, their style, JYP - the man, not the company (of course) etc etc etc.

Lexus has SO much potential for someone who hasn't had any vocal training. She must have been nervous and maybe not as confident(?) in her singing but she can easily improve with training. Her dancing, like JYP said, is so clean and strong. I can see a star in the making ❤ Rooting for Lexus!
Coming back after their debut and MTV performance. They have gone a long way. I remember watching this episode, wow it's been some time. So proud and touched. Love my girlies.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate JYP's English fluency? Like, I know we clown on him all the time, but you once you get past the jokes you can tell he's a really hardworking person.
JYP is talented, works hard, and is almost trị-lingual (his Japanese is good but not fluent like English) . He also loves the limelight and cameos on Twice MVs, still makes his own MVs, and loves to be center stage in these survival shows. We do clown him, but he is pretty amazing, especially at his age.
I personally know Lexus and her mom. Lexus is the kindest and most humble girl, her mama raised her right. I can't believe how grown and mature she is now. Reach for the stars Lexus. We are rooting for you!! ❤
If these 3 are picked to be in the group, I’d say the first one is one of the main vocals, second one is visual or center, and third is main dancer. They’re all captivating in their own ways. I’m proud of the Hmong girls/women representing our hmong people and working hard towards their dreams. Really breaking boundaries within our hmong communities and pursuing dreams that the elders used to kill, now the younger generation is working hard to prove that we can be much more! I’m proud to see our hmong brothers and sisters achieve such milestones ❤.
Honestly while kendall was super messy she was the most captivating and fun to watch imo! I totally get what jyp means with her dancing like she’s a K-pop artist
I’m so excited for this!!! Camila is really good at singing. Kendell is adorable and her facials are great! Lexus dancing is just WOW. So good. These girls have so much talent and so much potential! I’m still younger but I wish I had close to this amount of talent. Also, they’re all so pretty! Wishing them the best! ❤
I love because they cut the things that are not important like show a bunch of people being rejected and focus only on the ones choosen for the final phase. From episode 01 my number one is Lexus for dance and Camila for sing. Let's see the next contestants.
Only finalist from each state was evaluated same like nizi project s1, the other contestant was evaluated by his trainer and only him will decide if theyre accepted or not

Camila has such a great natural talent for her voice, with JYP’s corrections, she could make it far in the competition. Even if Kendall’s dancing execution was messy her personality and character was what JYP was most intrigued about. Lexus could be a potential all-rounder because she pretty soild in both singing and dancing. Her dancing however, is simply just amazing with all that ballet training precision isn’t a big issue.
i connected a lot with lexus, she is my favorite, she is SO talented and remains humble, i really like that. i hope she debuts!!!! she totally deserves it !!!
It would be nice if this concept also lead to making bands like Xdinary heros, and making soloist. I dont see myself as a idol, but id definitely audition for a band
The fact that Lexus doesn't have singing experience before but still managed to slay, I just know she'll grow more. And the fact that she studied ballet and not hard core dancing but killed those moves that dalla dalla really needs...wow she just ate and left no crumbs✨ I'm rooting for her!

I loved all three girls! Camila really impressed me with her beautiful voice and falsetto. Kendall was so cute with her expressions, and her movements matched the right emotions. Lexus was an amazing singer! I was so surprised that she didn't get any training, and her dance was top-notch!
You can really tell that kendall is a lyrical and musical theatre dancer because she has those soft flowy movements rather than sharp clean movements more commonly used in kpop

In my point of view, JYP is making a new girl group in the USA with the same METHOD he created NiziU, a Japanese girl group under JYP which is jpop genre. As he said he's making a girl group under 4 categories which are singing, dancing, star quality and character just as he made NiziU. He's making a girl group through Kpop system but debuting on hip hop genre.
@@april5623 Yes. I think the plan is to get them to train South Korean style. It would instill them with the necessary mental fortitude and work ethics to make it in the cut throat Pop industry. It's very easy to burn out or "slip" a little then it's all over.

I hope they r successfull as making it hollywood is a lot harder than kpop , but they r under republic records , so i guess as long as they giving them a nice song, they will steal the spotlite sooner ...jyp only trained them especially in dance , n tbh this is quite promising as i never seen american groups performs like kpop artist, they usually only focus on vocal with boring choreo n sexy outfits
I don’t think they will be extremely popular like I doubt we’ll hear them in the clubs but will have a following from the KPOP community and will release content similar to 5th harmonys first few albums. Or content similar to JYP artists. To be honest I see this group being extremely PG if not G and in america mature concepts sell. So I just don’t know 😅. Again I don’t think they will be unsuccessful but I don’t think they will be the next Destiny’s Child/TLC. And the ages of these girls matter more now than ever because in America again we have mature concepts that sell well. Not my teenage dream. So it’s all a toss up.
I never interested to watch a survival show especially a girl group but I feel excited cause this one is different, let's see how it'll end up. I'll try to watch it tomorrow
You should watch Niziu first. He did this style for that group first and is using the same mechanics. It was a good show and the group is really well rounded
JYP made a lot of survival/talent shows :2PM, Twice and Stray Kids (who competes vs a gg wich includes 4 members of Itzy on the first ep) but they were more "rude" and the elimination rules were a bit random, at some point he have to eliminate someone for reasons. With Nizi Project he found a great formula and he was very comprehensive with the girls. Is the best survival show I ever seen. I recommend you to watch it too, A2K looks like it will be identical!
If it is anything like Nizi project you will really become attached to these young ladies as they go through the trials and heartache that is the JYP training method. You will want to be like a protective parent or sibling for them. This will ensure they get a great start because so many people will be attached to them.
I highly recommend you watch June’s R U Next? survival show. It’s the first time I’ve seen so many talented contestants. Way beyond double the amount of trainees are ready to be idols, so the show is definitely filled with talent. I’m enjoying it so far!!
So proud of Lexus! The work she has put throughout the years to further her dancing career is coming all together. To see so many people supporting her makes my aunty heart so happy. Go Lexus! Represent! Hmong strong!!

They won't be aware of it until after the group debuts is my prediction. JYP should post separate audition performances in hopes 1-2 will go viral since that still works for AGT/AI/Voice pretty often, but they shouldn't count on it. Focus on getting an initial base from K-pop fans.
It’s mostly going to come down to the music and vocals. To be honest Americans aren’t going to care if she can do a heel toe into a backflip and land in splits if she can’t sing. Vocals and music production trumps anything else in the American music market. Your dance and image is secondary. And I think he already made his first mistake by not trying to get the show released on MTV Hulu or like even Netflix, hell any streaming service because the only people who will see this are KPOP fans already pigeon holing them. Let’s just hope who ever produces their album writes bangers.
Trainee's Strengths Camila - Vocals Kendall - Stage Presence Lexus - Dance (Her natural voice too) Melissa - Vocals Cristina - Dance Savanna - Rap Kaylee - Vocals and Dance I think for the popularity, it will be Kaylee, Lexus, and KG.
Camilla is really good at singing and when JYP made her hit the highnote she actually did really good! she was probably just nervous to not hit the highnote that's why she chose to not do it at all but if she grew more confidence she'd definitely do really good Kendall was really fun to watch due to her amazing facial expressions that can catch people's attention easily, although she did good at showing emotions throughout her dance I do agree with JYP that her movements need a little more practice and that she needs more energy and softness through her body. Lexus was AMAZING! her singing is really good for someone who didn't got trained, putting away the mistake she did, her singing performance was actually nice, and when we got to see Lexus dance skills, she NAILED it! she's a really great dancer and have the potential to be a main dancer in a group if she ever got the chance to join one.
@jinni- She’s young and it’s her first audition at a defining moment in the pursuit of her dream. The weight of that is enough to make anyone nervous. Yet it’s something that can certainly be overcome. She has great potential and as she gains confidence we may yet see the full expression of her artistry.
@@CrucibleBlack13Actually I think you’d sooner pick up better singing/dancing skills than stage presence. Camilla’s personality is just not there for a K-pop idol, or a celebrity. In the modern climate of K-pop, good vocals aren’t very important. If you’re an excellent singer but have no visual interest, you won’t make it. But you can make it as a weak singer with visual interest.

The first Dallas girl alone, Camilla, is so talented, and one advice from JYP and she got MUCH better. To notice things like that, he’s really passionate into music. And he knows what he’s talking about. I wonder how these kids will adjust to the Kpop training setting.

Lol at least you're still young enough, how stupid that they turned anyone over 17 away. Rumors are there will be an E2K if this is successful but that might just be a fan's wish, and this group hasn't even debuted so let's see. But there will probably be more projects like this, SBS had international Universe Ticket auditions earlier this year. In my eyes you're too young but I still wanna be honest, if you think this might be for you even in the slightest, train more and look out for more auditions. I regret not getting into dancing etc at a young age and now that the kpop world is finally getting more "inclusive" (if just for the sake of making even more money), I'm too old (aka in my 20s lol).
So obviously this is a big step but if you truly consider this this might be your only chance. The next years will be filled with new projects but who knows if they'll be as successful as the companies want them to be. So might just hop on the train while it's driving (or something haha). Although JYPE is probably busy for now and by the time A2K gets of the ground it's almost time for a new Korean gg. So might wanna look into other companies, or again other new projects like SBS Univetse Ticket.

Can’t wait to see how they have improved. Favorite moment has to be Camila’s improvement right after JYP’s advice. That comes from someone who took the advice and execute it perfectly. All the other contestants did really well too. I am rooting for Camila and Lexus.

This is *really* exciting. The way JYP approached mentoring the trainees in Nizi Project was truly inspiring to me, and this could mean a group that my friends here in the US would actually know about! What worries me is how American contestants will relate to JYP's style--will there be a clash of cultures?
JYP will try to not affect it but...his training method he won't change it ( Republic Records I don't know about their management tho 😅 ) . They will be based on American anyway so it's up to them ( tho if they at kcon or JYPe I believe they expect them to observe and try their style ) . Outside korea or JYPe I don't think they care 😂

I think the contestants should now by now where they are going so "clash of cultures" is not an option here. The one who are goint to participate in this competition/project at least shoul've done their home work and researched about Kpop, how Kpop industry runs, the companies envolved, their style, JYP - the man, not the company (of course) etc etc etc.

Lexus has SO much potential for someone who hasn't had any vocal training. She must have been nervous and maybe not as confident(?) in her singing but she can easily improve with training. Her dancing, like JYP said, is so clean and strong. I can see a star in the making ❤ Rooting for Lexus!

JYP is talented, works hard, and is almost trị-lingual (his Japanese is good but not fluent like English) . He also loves the limelight and cameos on Twice MVs, still makes his own MVs, and loves to be center stage in these survival shows. We do clown him, but he is pretty amazing, especially at his age.

If these 3 are picked to be in the group, I’d say the first one is one of the main vocals, second one is visual or center, and third is main dancer. They’re all captivating in their own ways. I’m proud of the Hmong girls/women representing our hmong people and working hard towards their dreams. Really breaking boundaries within our hmong communities and pursuing dreams that the elders used to kill, now the younger generation is working hard to prove that we can be much more! I’m proud to see our hmong brothers and sisters achieve such milestones ❤.

I love because they cut the things that are not important like show a bunch of people being rejected and focus only on the ones choosen for the final phase. From episode 01 my number one is Lexus for dance and Camila for sing. Let's see the next contestants.

Camila has such a great natural talent for her voice, with JYP’s corrections, she could make it far in the competition.
Even if Kendall’s dancing execution was messy her personality and character was what JYP was most intrigued about.
Lexus could be a potential all-rounder because she pretty soild in both singing and dancing. Her dancing however, is simply just amazing with all that ballet training precision isn’t a big issue.

I loved all three girls! Camila really impressed me with her beautiful voice and falsetto. Kendall was so cute with her expressions, and her movements matched the right emotions. Lexus was an amazing singer! I was so surprised that she didn't get any training, and her dance was top-notch!
You can really tell that kendall is a lyrical and musical theatre dancer because she has those soft flowy movements rather than sharp clean movements more commonly used in kpop

In my point of view, JYP is making a new girl group in the USA with the same METHOD he created NiziU, a Japanese girl group under JYP which is jpop genre. As he said he's making a girl group under 4 categories which are singing, dancing, star quality and character just as he made NiziU. He's making a girl group through Kpop system but debuting on hip hop genre.
Similar to the girl group Spice Girls of the 90s. They'll never be "j-pop/k-pop idols". This is the reality of it.

@@april5623 Yes. I think the plan is to get them to train South Korean style. It would instill them with the necessary mental fortitude and work ethics to make it in the cut throat Pop industry. It's very easy to burn out or "slip" a little then it's all over.

I don’t think they will be extremely popular like I doubt we’ll hear them in the clubs but will have a following from the KPOP community and will release content similar to 5th harmonys first few albums. Or content similar to JYP artists. To be honest I see this group being extremely PG if not G and in america mature concepts sell. So I just don’t know 😅. Again I don’t think they will be unsuccessful but I don’t think they will be the next Destiny’s Child/TLC. And the ages of these girls matter more now than ever because in America again we have mature concepts that sell well. Not my teenage dream. So it’s all a toss up.

You should watch Niziu first. He did this style for that group first and is using the same mechanics. It was a good show and the group is really well rounded
JYP made a lot of survival/talent shows :2PM, Twice and Stray Kids (who competes vs a gg wich includes 4 members of Itzy on the first ep) but they were more "rude" and the elimination rules were a bit random, at some point he have to eliminate someone for reasons. With Nizi Project he found a great formula and he was very comprehensive with the girls. Is the best survival show I ever seen. I recommend you to watch it too, A2K looks like it will be identical!
If it is anything like Nizi project you will really become attached to these young ladies as they go through the trials and heartache that is the JYP training method. You will want to be like a protective parent or sibling for them. This will ensure they get a great start because so many people will be attached to them.
I highly recommend you watch June’s R U Next? survival show. It’s the first time I’ve seen so many talented contestants. Way beyond double the amount of trainees are ready to be idols, so the show is definitely filled with talent. I’m enjoying it so far!!

I’m really curious to see how Americans- non-kpop Americans, will react to this.
They won't be aware of it until after the group debuts is my prediction. JYP should post separate audition performances in hopes 1-2 will go viral since that still works for AGT/AI/Voice pretty often, but they shouldn't count on it. Focus on getting an initial base from K-pop fans.
Ikr, I was a big one direction/fifth harmony fan as a kid, so I’m curious to see if it could be done again.
It’s mostly going to come down to the music and vocals. To be honest Americans aren’t going to care if she can do a heel toe into a backflip and land in splits if she can’t sing. Vocals and music production trumps anything else in the American music market. Your dance and image is secondary. And I think he already made his first mistake by not trying to get the show released on MTV Hulu or like even Netflix, hell any streaming service because the only people who will see this are KPOP fans already pigeon holing them. Let’s just hope who ever produces their album writes bangers.

Camilla is really good at singing and when JYP made her hit the highnote she actually did really good! she was probably just nervous to not hit the highnote that's why she chose to not do it at all but if she grew more confidence she'd definitely do really good
Kendall was really fun to watch due to her amazing facial expressions that can catch people's attention easily, although she did good at showing emotions throughout her dance I do agree with JYP that her movements need a little more practice and that she needs more energy and softness through her body.
Lexus was AMAZING! her singing is really good for someone who didn't got trained, putting away the mistake she did, her singing performance was actually nice, and when we got to see Lexus dance skills, she NAILED it! she's a really great dancer and have the potential to be a main dancer in a group if she ever got the chance to join one.

@jinni- She’s young and it’s her first audition at a defining moment in the pursuit of her dream. The weight of that is enough to make anyone nervous. Yet it’s something that can certainly be overcome. She has great potential and as she gains confidence we may yet see the full expression of her artistry.
@@CrucibleBlack13Actually I think you’d sooner pick up better singing/dancing skills than stage presence. Camilla’s personality is just not there for a K-pop idol, or a celebrity. In the modern climate of K-pop, good vocals aren’t very important. If you’re an excellent singer but have no visual interest, you won’t make it. But you can make it as a weak singer with visual interest.
