ply1992 not op but I just did. major difference is I started at the ends first, doing the roots last to reduce potential damage to the roots and scalp. This is a really good tutorial, just make sure to fact check multiple sources before beginning. Other than that, I used the same method/products and I love the look.
TIP: I recommend a 1:2 ratio. 1 part bleach : 2 parts developer. The "fairly runny" mix will make it easier to cover all the hair evenly, thus avoiding patchy areas. It will also allow you to work fast, meaning you have longer time to work before the mixture turns dry. The heat from the scalp will process the bleach faster, so do the root area last, unless the hair is very short e.g. buzzcut. You should not attempt to tone until you have brought your hair to one consistent color level and the hair has been bleached evenly. Do not to let the toner/purple shampoo sit longer than 5 mins if you don't want it to tint your hair. You will need to tone the hair with a good quality toner. Otherwise there will always be some yellow left.
1. Coconut oil is good for the hair, put more in saturate all of it alot, cover with a plastic cap and then wrap in a towel and wait for 2 hours before bleaching. 2 keratin treatments are done after the bleaching and toning. 3 use a really good moisturizing conditioner after bleaching and toning. 4 read and follow the DIRECTIONS when using bleaching products for the hair. 5 its always besr to consult a professional colorist beforehand.
Watching this takes me back to me teenage years from 12-15. I tried it again in my 20s and didn't like it as much, but I may do it again now just to see if I still look the same with bleached hair.
use a keratin mask! bleaching hair strips the cuticle of natural proteins so depositing keratin onto your hair will help with frizz. since keratin is the protein in your hair. a conditioner would just hydrate and leave your hair brittle and stringy but keratin helps with that. companies like ion make them, they come in little packs and you can get them at sally’s. hope this helps :)
I wish i knew this when I was blonde I'm now back to my normal color but I really want to go back blonde however my hair grows to quick and it's A LOT of maintenance
Actually coconut oil make the bleaching more difficult, maybe try jojoba or avocado oil next time. But the purpose was to protect the hair and you nailed it ! Really match your skin colour, I like that it is not to white :)
@@maibamphoker153 I would say both ;) Before you protect the hair from de bleach a little bit, and then male it look better even tho it's a bit broken :)
Boyfriend is finally letting me color his hair because "its quarantine....do whatever" lol. So this definitely helped! Thank you! Also, I love your personality. I feel like you're great on camera. Im going to watch more of your videos now (:
@@JoshDaley awesome! Get the pastel silver since it's a lightest tone you want for your hair. Also buy Olaplex 3 to bring back the integrity of your hair follicles. I used to have blonde hair so i know what the upkeep is like. Good luck 👍👍
I watched a video of a white boy with dark hair going platinum, but your skin tone and technique seemed a little closer to home for me. I just bleached and colored today and looking to get a haircut as soon as I'm done. hopefully it turns out as good as yours. I had to leave mine in longer because my hair is like jet black.
Lil bit of advice no coconut oil you would have only needed to bleach once you would have had the same result 💯 go to Sallys get olaplex 3 and get wella professional repair deep conditioner with aha and argon oil and for toner don’t use colour charm use a level 9 ash and use only 10vol for toner as u want a deposit of colour any higher and the hair ❤will be diluted
I’ve seen another RUclips dye his hair a week apart, what is the difference between you doing it in a day and his a week apart? He used 20 volume developer
Your hair came out super dope. I actually just tried to do mine the same way today by watching your video and it came out awesome. Should I wash my hair now after rinsing out the toner? Thanks !
the reason your hair is so stiff and dry is because you blow dry it out every time. you aren't letting your hair rest you have a natural curl that you brush/blow out on a daily
Did you do a treatment on the roots when the hair grew out? My question is, how long and did you treat twice. And did it bleach the blond hair different than the new black growth? And did you do the 3rd step as well? The purple coloring step?
The final result looked good. This Vlog was meant more for the "young-un's". When I graduated from Catholic High School, in 1981, I didn't know of anyone who had dyed their hair. Guess I am just "old school".
Okay I just did what you presented and all I can say is (btw this is my first time bleaching my hair lol) I didn’t get the exact color like yours 😭😂 but I’ll live. The only thing I didn’t do cause I was scared my hair was gonna fall out was do a second bleach even though I had it on for 50 minutes. I think with my black hair, it’s either a hit or a miss or I might need to see a professional. Overall the experience was fun! Thank you for sharing!!
this helps! I am about to pull the trigger myself lol and I have dark hair so feel like I may need to do it twice and I also got a platinum toner for when I am done ;)
Nice. WOW two full pre-lightening/bleech sessions in a day!? Shouldn't you wait a few days in between, or even weeks?? It looks great either way! I did my first lift ( 20 volume ) on Monday, I'm going to do a second lift/bleech tomorrow also 20 vol.
well, although he did 2 bleaches, the time of the first one was 30 minutes and the second was 15 minutes so the bleach was on his head for 45 minutes total which is under the 50 minute"allowed" I guess its fine this way. You would need a few days apart to do another full 45 minutes I guess?
Your hair looks amazing! I really want to try this but my hair is longer and box dyed jet black for years and years and years idk if I can work it on my own
Dante thanks for your reply! I needed up just getting a silver styling wax which actually does the trick 😝 doesn’t look as awesome as platinum bleached hair of course but it satisfies the urge to do something drastic without drying my hair off loo
It's unpredictable how it'll turn out and extremely strong, not only does it kill your hair and can even make it fall out but 90% of the time it looks like absolute shit
Instead of the toner? I tried this before... it DID NOT WORK 🙃 it works well to take away the brassy color after bleaching but my hair was so light it turned purple quick
I'm a guy that's got hair that's in a kind of curtain/middle part style. I'm also half Asian so it's very very dark. I'm thinking of bleaching just one half of it the platinum blonde color and leaving the other half black, does that sound like a good or bad idea to y'all?
lockdown got me bleaching my hair
same

Like T11 charm?
What’s the difference between bleaching your hair all in one day and those who do it a week apart ?
Watching this before my boyfriend makes me bleach his hair lol thank youuu!
Me too Hah a
Omg me too
Shelby Acre SAME!!! HAHA
Sammmeeee hahahahha!!
Me too!!! I’m kinda nervous! 😫😂
As a professional hairstylist, I’d recommend the Redken ‘one united’ leave-in treatment! It works wondersss!
Thank you!
How long will it last ??
is it possible for dark hair?
@@ohyeahyeahimasian392 yeah bleach can break through all pigments dark or light cool or warmed toned
Can you leave the bleach on for 45 minutes instead of doing it twice ?

This video convinced me, I’m gonna pull the trigger today!
Yours looks great. I am rocking Trump Orange right now cause the box dye went wrong.
Got to get myself down to the store and get some bleach ASAP
Great Tutorial!! Didn’t cut any colors and showed steps. SUBSCRIBED!
gonna try this tomorrow! I got crazy long thick hair so its gonna be a pain to get it covered, but i wanna rock that witcher henry cavill look
