TIP:
I recommend a 1:2 ratio. 1 part bleach : 2 parts developer. The "fairly runny" mix will make it easier to cover all the hair evenly, thus avoiding patchy areas.
It will also allow you to work fast, meaning you have longer time to work before the mixture turns dry.
The heat from the scalp will process the bleach faster, so do the root area last, unless the hair is very short e.g. buzzcut.
You should not attempt to tone until you have brought your hair to one consistent color level and the hair has been bleached evenly. Do not to let the toner/purple shampoo sit longer than 5 mins if you don't want it to tint your hair.
You will need to tone the hair with a good quality toner. Otherwise there will always be some yellow left.
Like T11 charm?
What’s the difference between bleaching your hair all in one day and those who do it a week apart ?
Watching this before my boyfriend makes me bleach his hair lol thank youuu!
Me too Hah a
Omg me too
Shelby Acre SAME!!! HAHA
Sammmeeee hahahahha!!
Me too!!! I’m kinda nervous! 😫😂
lockdown got me bleaching my hair
same
ply1992 not op but I just did. major difference is I started at the ends first, doing the roots last to reduce potential damage to the roots and scalp. This is a really good tutorial, just make sure to fact check multiple sources before beginning. Other than that, I used the same method/products and I love the look.
Facts😂
same here !
I´m gonna do it now!!
As a professional hairstylist, I’d recommend the Redken ‘one united’ leave-in treatment! It works wondersss!
Thank you!
How long will it last ??
is it possible for dark hair?
@@ohyeahyeahimasian392 yeah bleach can break through all pigments dark or light cool or warmed toned
Can you leave the bleach on for 45 minutes instead of doing it twice ?
1. Coconut oil is good for the hair, put more in saturate all of it alot, cover with a plastic cap and then wrap in a towel and wait for 2 hours before bleaching. 2 keratin treatments are done after the bleaching and toning. 3 use a really good moisturizing conditioner after bleaching and toning. 4 read and follow the DIRECTIONS when using bleaching products for the hair. 5 its always besr to consult a professional colorist beforehand.
And he overlapped the bleach too lol
wow I love the final product. I've been wanting to do this for a long time. this video got me motivated. thank you
Boyfriend is finally letting me color his hair because "its quarantine....do whatever" lol. So this definitely helped! Thank you! Also, I love your personality. I feel like you're great on camera. Im going to watch more of your videos now (:
I love that you get to do you!! Enjoy putting colors in your hair and have some fun with it!! :))
Watching this takes me back to me teenage years from 12-15. I tried it again in my 20s and didn't like it as much, but I may do it again now just to see if I still look the same with bleached hair.
use a keratin mask! bleaching hair strips the cuticle of natural proteins so depositing keratin onto your hair will help with frizz. since keratin is the protein in your hair. a conditioner would just hydrate and leave your hair brittle and stringy but keratin helps with that. companies like ion make them, they come in little packs and you can get them at sally’s. hope this helps :)
can you provide a link as to where to get those product and or an all in one kit that I could buy thanks. good stuff
you seem like you know a lot about this for never doing it before
Lookup overtone. It's a treatment and color which works to remove brassiness
@@JoshDaley awesome! Get the pastel silver since it's a lightest tone you want for your hair. Also buy Olaplex 3 to bring back the integrity of your hair follicles. I used to have blonde hair so i know what the upkeep is like. Good luck 👍👍
Actually coconut oil make the bleaching more difficult, maybe try jojoba or avocado oil next time. But the purpose was to protect the hair and you nailed it ! Really match your skin colour, I like that it is not to white :)
Hy Maud Lescroart What time do I have to use oil befor bleaching or after bleaching?? please tell me I want to know...
@@JoshDaley You're welcome ;)
@@maibamphoker153 I would say both ;) Before you protect the hair from de bleach a little bit, and then male it look better even tho it's a bit broken :)
@@maibamphoker153 watch her ruclips.net/video/3oVvNChGsSk/видео.html, before is better and after, just a little bit after.
Yours looks great. I am rocking Trump Orange right now cause the box dye went wrong.
Got to get myself down to the store and get some bleach ASAP
the reason your hair is so stiff and dry is because you blow dry it out every time. you aren't letting your hair rest you have a natural curl that you brush/blow out on a daily
A good debrasser additive is always a good idea. Ardel red gold corrector is my go to
I wish i knew this when I was blonde I'm now back to my normal color but I really want to go back blonde however my hair grows to quick and it's A LOT of maintenance
I’m a straight man and I’m doing this.
fellas: is it gay to dye hair?
@@willemlavarias7621 Maybe he bleached it too hard lmao
What does marsellus wallace look like?
@Paper The Producer does he look like a bitch
Same 😂
I have the same hair type and was worried it wouldn’t look good if I did this, thanks for this I’m going to give it a shot this week 🙌
gonna try this tomorrow! I got crazy long thick hair so its gonna be a pain to get it covered, but i wanna rock that witcher henry cavill look
This video convinced me, I’m gonna pull the trigger today!
I watched a video of a white boy with dark hair going platinum, but your skin tone and technique seemed a little closer to home for me. I just bleached and colored today and looking to get a haircut as soon as I'm done. hopefully it turns out as good as yours. I had to leave mine in longer because my hair is like jet black.
lol I know exactly what video your talking about 😂 I just watched it. Dude with a super short buzz cut like skin fade on the sides?
Lil bit of advice no coconut oil you would have only needed to bleach once you would have had the same result 💯 go to Sallys get olaplex 3 and get wella professional repair deep conditioner with aha and argon oil and for toner don’t use colour charm use a level 9 ash and use only 10vol for toner as u want a deposit of colour any higher and the hair ❤will be diluted
Great Tutorial!! Didn’t cut any colors and showed steps. SUBSCRIBED!
I will just do a spray in and that is good enough for me since I like to change my look a lot.
you look so adorable with platinum blonde hair color!
My sister a color stylist, always told me not to shampoo 2 to 3 days before she either highlighted or colored my hair, she also never used any kind of oil or conditioner either before or during the process. Since I moved away and do it myself now with her advice and my own extensive research if you use coconut oil after the bleaching process the coconut oil slips into the open hair folics on the shaft and lets face it oil and water don't mix, the toner molecules cannot bond with the hair shaft therefore you do not get full coverage and you will have as depicted spots of tan or yellow hair. I only condition with a high-quality conditioner after the full process is complete. Not to criticize but I'd never do 3 bleaching processes in one day. When I had long hair (almost to my waist) The bleaching process for just highlights took a long time, my sister would wait a week, and then apply the toner to all of my hair. Because toner is demi-permanent it fades over time I use a purple shampoo to keep it bright and healthy looking.
I’ve seen another RUclips dye his hair a week apart, what is the difference between you doing it in a day and his a week apart? He used 20 volume developer
Wait so for that last step did you mix the 20 ion developer and the t18 color charm or did you put them in your hair separately at different times ?
I would be terrified to do this for the first time 😳but i came out great
Good job mate looks well. I am going to do same thing b4 my holidays
I'm living for this BGM delay as the explanation hangs 0:41.
can i just use my hands to work the developer/ toner into my hair? i feel like the brush is unnecessary. let me know ! good vid
yes, this work as well! just use gloves
Came out awesome! Looking to this today! 👀
Black or dark brown hair usually takes two sessions about 1 month apart to get to the level of platinum.
Did you do a treatment on the roots when the hair grew out? My question is, how long and did you treat twice. And did it bleach the blond hair different than the new black growth? And did you do the 3rd step as well? The purple coloring step?
I did this on my husbands hair it came out great!
Brian "my partner" wants me to bleach his hair soon! Im happy it came out great for you guys!!
Wow that is really good im gonna do what you do my hair is really short and i want platnium white
You really suit the blonde
Im coloring my hair on 01.01.2022 also in the same color ICE Blond Platine Blond
My Girlfriend Nour color it
Thank you for the Video
josh, good job...what about tanned Brazilian guys with dark hair, do you reckon Platinum Blonde will look like vamps?
This is awesome ! I'm gonna bleach my hair tommorow
@@JoshDaley i did went to a hair salon last time it costed me 300$ LMAO now I'm gonna do my own at home ! first time
Could you have used the purple shampoo and let it set to tone your hair?
Instead of the toner? I tried this before... it DID NOT WORK 🙃 it works well to take away the brassy color after bleaching but my hair was so light it turned purple quick
Your hair came out super dope. I actually just tried to do mine the same way today by watching your video and it came out awesome. Should I wash my hair now after rinsing out the toner? Thanks !
Stay gold pony boy! Stay gold!
Omg this looks so so good!!!
This video was super helpful!
Really nice colour well done...
You look amazing with it.
I bought only the bleaching and if i apply it in 3 process maximum, it will get less yellowish yeah? :3
So I dye my hair blonde, how often do I get a haircut, if I get a fade
what happens if i just dip my head in a bowl full of laundry bleach? cuz that sounds way easier
You become Stan himself
It's unpredictable how it'll turn out and extremely strong, not only does it kill your hair and can even make it fall out but 90% of the time it looks like absolute shit
I LOVE it! I turned out really nice!!
I seen you in Chicago on Michigan maybe about 3weeks ago. We were on different sides of the street though 😩
Next time!!!!! For sure 👍🏾
Dude it looks so good on you 👌👌👌
This vlog is A fricken MAZING!
Your hair is sooooo cute!!!! 💁🏼♂️🤗
You look so good in this color! :D
haha i need some help, i just applied the bleach and i have the toner and 20 vol developer waiting. You said it was 1 part toner 2 part developer. But what are the measurements???
Easiest way is to add toner to mixing bowl then pour 20 vol in the toner container twice. Measurements converted is tricky
ruclips.net/video/js5ALKd4TaA/видео.html
@@JoshDaley thank you!
So you don’t need hair dye?? Just bleach developer and toner?
I have very short hair and my scalp is generally oily. Do I still need to add coconut oil?
The whole toner? And how much 20 volume developer?
you made it look so easy 😩
I liked this the new color is awesome. You look fabulous.
I'm a guy that's got hair that's in a kind of curtain/middle part style. I'm also half Asian so it's very very dark. I'm thinking of bleaching just one half of it the platinum blonde color and leaving the other half black, does that sound like a good or bad idea to y'all?
I appreciate you ditching the brush and just getting in their with your fingers. It's the best way, in my opinion.
To the point an easy explaining I’ll be giving it a try soon also . Much appreciated it came out pretty good for a DIY . 👍🏽
Are you wearing colored contacts ? What brand are they ? Thanks !
Question: do you put coconut oil on hair prior to toning? Because when I toned my short hair last time, the toner burned my scalp. Thanks
@@JoshDaley Thank you! Will do for next time. I actually used this video as my guide to bleaching at home, and I was really happy with my results. I bought all the products you used, and mixed them just as you did. I used coconut oil for two bleaching sessions, but didn't for the toner. It did in fact burn, while the bleach didn't burn at all. I will make that adjustment for next time.
Okay I just did what you presented and all I can say is (btw this is my first time bleaching my hair lol) I didn’t get the exact color like yours 😭😂 but I’ll live. The only thing I didn’t do cause I was scared my hair was gonna fall out was do a second bleach even though I had it on for 50 minutes. I think with my black hair, it’s either a hit or a miss or I might need to see a professional. Overall the experience was fun! Thank you for sharing!!
You needed A stronger developer and if you have virgin hair definitely gotta do it twice
Your hair looks amazing! I really want to try this but my hair is longer and box dyed jet black for years and years and years idk if I can work it on my own
Dante thanks for your reply! I needed up just getting a silver styling wax which actually does the trick 😝 doesn’t look as awesome as platinum bleached hair of course but it satisfies the urge to do something drastic without drying my hair off loo
This is so pretty!!! Doing mine tomorrow :))
did you mix the toner with the 20
developer? 🥺 i need tonknow asap
yes
Can I use 30 Volume for toning? Does it make much of a difference?
I love it!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ high fashion look
The purple twinge looks the best I think
The initial bleaching works fine for me but I've used Syoss platinum blonde 10 55 to get rid of the brassy yellow. I followed the instructions and it said to leave on for 45 minutes and now I have pink hair...what should I do? I think the 45 minutes was way too long compared to what you do with the Wella T18...
Nice. WOW two full pre-lightening/bleech sessions in a day!? Shouldn't you wait a few days in between, or even weeks?? It looks great either way! I did my first lift ( 20 volume ) on Monday, I'm going to do a second lift/bleech tomorrow also 20 vol.
Yeah I thought the same. Online is says days to weeks in between sessions. I’m going for 2 days and praying my hair doesn’t fall out
well, although he did 2 bleaches, the time of the first one was 30 minutes and the second was 15 minutes so the bleach was on his head for 45 minutes total which is under the 50 minute"allowed" I guess its fine this way. You would need a few days apart to do another full 45 minutes I guess?
What routine or products do you use to make your hair stay up and style like that and still looking natural and soft...and not that gel wet look.
Will the T11 charm work as well
i went to bleach my shoes. great vid
Love this video 😍🥰
Nice contrast with your complexion.
The final result looked good. This Vlog was
meant more for the "young-un's". When I
graduated from Catholic High School, in 1981,
I didn't know of anyone who had dyed their
hair. Guess I am just "old school".
Charles Woolley you know he’s gay right?
@Michael VR Dropped "metrosexual". I'll try not to use it again.
Very thick hair wish I had thick hair like yours
Bruh this looked way too good for it to work for me lol. Awesome steps ty for the insight
Did you do an on scalp application and did it burn ???
the first time I bleached my own hair it didn't turn out like that. my experience was horrible lol
Sara Levvit what happened?! Seaweed?!
Was your hair virgin hair? think it lifted easily cause for me mine lifted super easily cause it was virgin and never coloured before
Hey! Yes I've never colored my hair before that
@@JoshDaley yea same! It lifted so light and platinum on the first attempt!
Now it takes so much longer 😭😭😔😔
Can I use sesame oil instead of coconut oil
Love it! 💞💞💞
I’m attempting my first time DIY bleaching 🙈 wish me luck
What is the music name
Looks awesome!!
Fantastic he did an excellent job
I’m currently on round 2 of bleach currently & it burns a lot more than what I remember the last two time I had bleached my hair 😤
If it burns it means you’re allergic. Don’t use it. You could have an anaphylactic shook someday
this helps! I am about to pull the trigger myself lol and I have dark hair so feel like I may need to do it twice and I also got a platinum toner for when I am done ;)
Love it thanks for sharing 😍
Thanks mate helped a lot
OMG, thank you so much for sharing, i'm gonna do it tomorrow.
+Joshua Daley yes, i'm a little bit worry about it.
you can write me on Instagram if you have another advice is Douglas696
