    I think I explained it wrong due to English not being my first language and all my videos are unscripted, which I do apologize for.
    In studio, artists and producers spend hours and hours recording, mixing and mastering. So the studio version of the song is most of the time the "perfect" version, but not always the best version. I personally love live music more than studio music and in my case when I record music, I hate making it sound perfect and leave all my imperfections in as that's what makes the song good.
    I am really excited to check out the live version, especially from what I've heard about it, I just think hearing the studio version first gives me a foundation to compare the live version to.
    I will be listening to the live version as soon as I can, there has just been a lot going on in my personal life that prevented me from making videos

      Ado is the only artist I know who is consistently better live, but like, so much so that it makes the studio version pointless. Show is the only song where I think the studio version is a little better, every other song is buried by the live. I bought the Mars DVD, best purchase I've made in a while.

    Dude you MUST react to the live version, its the best version of this in my opinion, you can not only appreciate her technique more but also appreciate how theatrical it is, she represents the song in such an amazing way you would think she's actually the one suffering though every line of it. It's nuts.

      Because studio is usually 100% what the arist wants you to hear. They spend hours and hours recording, mixing, mastering and getting it to be perfect. Then when I listen to the live version I know what the difference is between the 2

    I am glad you reacted to the studio version. Everyone reacts to the live one, but at around 2min mark, she starts screaming a little early, spoiling the surprise a little, but in the studio version it hits suddenly like a truck imo, which I like and wanted to see other people's reaction to that

    I know you're getting a lot of flack, but I do have to thank you for listening to the studio version! I've always found it weird how people listen to any live version without ever listening to the studio version to compare with and fully appreciate. Ado's studio version of this song is not really a shock to listen to me (at least, not after hearing the live version so much). I love how you compared TK's and Ado's vocal choices and portrayal of the song!
    Just a heads up for the live version: she makes a lot of different vocal choices from the studio version, so much so I think they are intentional, but I can't be sure how intentional her performance is. She uses way more distortion and screaming; maybe she's caught up in emotions, maybe she's exhausted after singing over a dozen songs, or maybe she's trying to save her breath. Speaking of breath, I can't tell if she's having trouble with breath support or if she's purposefully breathing the way she is. Really would love to hear your commentary when you get there!

    • @Olkam-w5u
      @Olkam-w5u 5 месяцев назад +4

      Everything she does live is intentional, believe me. Everyone is distorted and screams exactly in accordance with the lyrics. As for breathing, she has no problems, one of her techniques is to imitate a person suffocating, she demonstrated it in the studio recording “Aishite”. She is not only a singer, she is also an actress

    • @kamilgaming8519
      @kamilgaming8519 5 месяцев назад +2

      I think everything she did in live performance was 100% intentional. And even if all of that was improvised or forced by exhaustion then I'd say it's even more impressive because she makes it look like that's exactly what she wanted.

    I don't know where the notion comes from that the studio version is the thing the artist wants you to hear. At least in Japan and especially with pop/mainstream artists it's the version the producers think is the best or most clean. Because if the artist/band isn't independent or has 20+ years experience, the producer/management/agency always has the last word in basically everything. Even more so if the artist's a female or an Idol. There are so many (Japanese) artists that change things around or add stuff in live performances (if they're allowed to of course) that it's pretty clear they weren't 100% satisfied with the studio version or at least aren't 100% satisfied with it anymore if the track's a bit older. Songs from Japanese bands/artists have at least 95% tendency to be better live than in their respective studio versions because a lot of producers tend to overproduce vocals to hell, true to the motto "vocals are everything, music is just background noise".

    • @ANDOR-
      @ANDOR- 5 месяцев назад

      @@Fools_believer It's not the first time I heard that, so I was actually curious about it. I've heard so many Japanese artists/bands change their own songs live on purpose (which made it sound better) and sing it that way or change it bit by bit from then on that the statement feels really strange to me.

      I would highly suggest you check out my reaction to TK first take Unravel video, where I explained that "whiny" singing is not bad. I grew up listening to a lot of emo music which most of the time had "whiny" vocals and I loved it.
      In the case of TK, his vocals are whiny for a reason, it emphasizes what he wants you to feel when listening to the song and it fits super well with the story and the feelings you get. His vocals are insanely good and he is my favourite Eastern singer

    • @ANDOR-
      @ANDOR- 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@StrangeSinceBirth I certainly get it now, thanks for clearing up the misunderstanding. Because I think that's what it was, rather than a language thing ;).
      I guess a lot of musicians don't like the "let's record it until it's absolutely perfect" approach, but it's (unfortunately) something Japanese producers always care about above everything else it seems, especially when it comes to the vocals. You get it a lot with not-your-run-of-the-mill Idols, like BiSH or Babymetal. Their live versions are always sooo much better, just because they often change small details (or even bigger stuff like lyrics or the vocal delivery of whole parts of songs, which BiSH often did) and the music is more than background noise and more at the forefront of the mix.
      Ado's recordings are usually really well mixed when it comes to her original songs, but her covers are often more a vocal showcase than anything else, which is totally fine in my opinion because that's probably why she records those in the first place. But, while I think Ado's live version of Unravel is one of the most amazing performances I've seen, probably ever, especially from an emotional standpoint, I won't get a lot of points for saying that I don't really like the studio version of it because it kind of feels too emotion- or lifeless, especially the instrumental and when compared to her live performance.
