I had such a hard time not laughing at your video title for yesterday "It's hard to guess words you've never even heard of!" when I knew what was coming today. Now going to sit down and see how well you do when it's even more true! Edit: I'm back and I've now seen your solve! I was having so much fun seeing you try to come up with a set rules that could explain the letters you were seeing, as clearly they couldn't be words! For your last guess you could have entered the green letters you had and just used trial and error and until you found the one word that's accepted, as making an illegal guess doesn't cost you a guess.
I'd been watching Scott do your puzzles and yesterday was my first attempt! I ended up googling words with y as the only vowel and that didn't even get me through. Glad you put the disclaimer at the end. Terrific site and thanks for the fun:)
@@Jindychick Yeah, I knew that there was some portion of players who would get this board as their first one. I did consider doing something to stop that, but it would cause way more confusion if not everyone got the same daily board, especially since some of those new players would have been sent to play specifically for the joke board.
I also managed to get this with 4 guesses left. My son came over when he heard me exclaim "no vowels, what!!!" From there we teamed up to crack it. It was hard but it was fun and very satisfying actually getting it.
This was so fun. I didn't even register that it was april fool's day. Was shocked to realize that there were no vowels after my first three words. But I was able to finish it with 2 guesses remaining. And I agree with @furbyfubar as I saw your video yesterday, thinking it was for today, then watched it laughing!
I started with my usual DOING, RULES and YACHT which not only eliminated vowels and a number of useful combination letters, but also told be there was no Y in the first column. I knew then it was going to be interesting! Last column stymied me for a while (see what I did there) but managed with 4 remaining moves.
Ruled out all the vowels right away and I got cysts, thymy, and stymy right after. Spent the next few guesses just ruling out letters because cwtch????
idk what surprises me more, that I guessed CYSTS and STYMY, or that I did so before you did. And I had a gut feeling that last letter was a K. I even guessed the meaning of THYMY. ^_^ This was a fun video to watch.
I got it by just brute forcing all possible combinations once I got a few letters filled and realized Y was the only vowel. Took me a while, but I got it with a guess to spare
"CWTCH? That could be a word, why not" - this is the one word I was CERTAIN of from before you even said 'CRWTH'. I had a feeling C would be top-left just because 'CY' and 'CW' are such common starts for words without AEIOU (especially from imports from Welsh of course)
I matched you with 4 guesses left. After finishing it, I wanted to tell you that you should do it but I figured MANY other people would do that for me. This puzzle was crazy but so much fun to solve.
I waited till evening, he released another video but not squardle. And I searched youtube and there's no solving video about it yet, So I was almost afraid nobody told him., And I told him here
@@phs125 I did all the different variants late last night after midnight EST. I probably would have done the same if he hadn't posted a video. I really wanted to see him tackle this one.
Hey Scott! I challenge you to start your wordle with 25 unique characters leaving you with only 1 guess to guess the word. Use these words: Glent, brick, jumpy, vozhd and waqfs. These words have been tried and tested and they all work - good luck!
I did this one when it hit midnight last night and I had completely forgotten it was april first until I finished this puzzle and it had me losing my mind
I managed to somehow get all but the last column’s word, got the s and y’s but then I gave up because all of the remaining letter combinations I had left weren’t working, somewhat proud of thay
On all other days Squardle (in English) uses the same list of possible answers as Wordle does, so any word you see as an answer in Squardle will show up in Wordle one day if it hasn't already.
Lol I instantly clicked the video as soon as I got the notification :) anyways keep up the good work Edit:Forgot to mention that you’re my inspiration to play wordle games every day
i didnt solve it i just gave up after realizing there was no vowels lol. then a message pops up that says they arent gonna include this day in the stats bc they arent that cruel lmao
There doesn't exist enough words with Y as their only vowel to make a legal Squardle board. So I literally had to use the Welsh loan words for this joke to work. Even then there were only two variations of boards without AEIOU possible. By "variations" I mean that I count a board's diagonal mirror image where rows and columns are swapped as one variation, and swapping out words that use the same letters in position 1, 3, and 5 as also being a variation. So for example STYMY could have been swapped for SHYLY without chaning the rest of the board. If you remove the word "CYSTS" from the word list there are no legal boards without AEIOU at all, because both variations my code found had CYSTS in either the first row or column. So I was very happy when I realized that this joke could word. Then I had to sneak it into Squardle's code a few weeks ago and obfuscate the code slightly so anyone checking my horrible code wouldn't stumble upon the fact that there was an upcoming April Fool's joke in there. (I couldn't just push the update live in late Marsh, because lots of people play on cached version, or otherwise don't reload their browser tab each new day.)
I bet this is gonna be full of the most obscure words possible
agreed
I was going insane with this squardle. These are insanely obscure
I need a cwtch.
Hehehe that’s a good one ^^
All the Welsh people are having a field day!

@furbyfubar Thanks for this fun puzzle!
I chose the wrong day to try squardle
this was my first day and I didn’t know fully how it worked… i thought i was going crazy!
same!

This is impressive as hell. Great job!
Thanks!
Thanks!

This was tough but fun! I didn't know CWTCH or SKYF, thanks for showing the definitions. I was lucky to have 6 guesses remaining.
I started with my usual DOING, RULES and YACHT which not only eliminated vowels and a number of useful combination letters, but also told be there was no Y in the first column. I knew then it was going to be interesting! Last column stymied me for a while (see what I did there) but managed with 4 remaining moves.
I was impressed to see that more than two of these are actually words.
Solved it before watching, really interesting to see your approach.
Scott if you are wondering, a cwtch is a word coming from welsh meaning hug or cuddle
As soon as I sent this video you googled the definition. Thanks
I need a cwtch
Ruled out all the vowels right away and I got cysts, thymy, and stymy right after. Spent the next few guesses just ruling out letters because cwtch????
Chaotic squardle was driving you bonkers 🤣
This is what is feels playing wordle as an unnative English speaker
it took me almost an hour to solve mine and i used all my guesses
This squardle is extremely hard without cheating (using word lists)
Squardle: haha April fools
Scott: *solves the puzzle* mwahahaha
69 likes I came here at the perfect time 🤪😂😑
@ b no it’s not
Good job! This deserves more attention.

Next year be like: bro how did you not guess smynt, bldrc, and gtrfs!
Despite how difficult it was I solved it in like 10 mins :D
I got it by just brute forcing all possible combinations once I got a few letters filled and realized Y was the only vowel. Took me a while, but I got it with a guess to spare
I think Y don’t count as a vowel but I just count like an extra one
I fought this puzzle at 4am UK time, definitely not the relaxing fix for my insomnia that I was expecting!
Me and friend spent like 45 minutes figuring it out, we got it in the end with both our combined guesses 😭
I didn't get a single word haha. I learned after 4 guesses that there were no vowels, and then I realized the date of the day.
At about 6 minutes into the video im looking at the top word and thinking "cysts"
Managed it with 2 guesses remaining. Thankfully I knew some Welsh 😂
"CWTCH? That could be a word, why not" - this is the one word I was CERTAIN of from before you even said 'CRWTH'. I had a feeling C would be top-left just because 'CY' and 'CW' are such common starts for words without AEIOU (especially from imports from Welsh of course)

Somehow this is the only squardle that ive solved on my own
I did solve it for a win. I went in with no spoilers and holy cwtch was that some B's...
They used welsh words, no wonder why it was impossible lmao
This gonna be the hardest squardle of all time

Oh the dramatic irony of being the kind of person who looks up words to help out--and has looked up a list of 5 letter words without vowels.
I did this one when it hit midnight last night and I had completely forgotten it was april first until I finished this puzzle and it had me losing my mind
I had cysts from the beginning pretty much but the rest of them no clue 😂
Just done and had to get on and watch how you got on. I had 2 guesses remaining.
I tried the Word 'Prank' first in All the Wordle games today. I was so expecting Wordle be prank today
I managed to somehow get all but the last column’s word, got the s and y’s but then I gave up because all of the remaining letter combinations I had left weren’t working, somewhat proud of thay
I swear the words are going to be so weird like hymns or nymph without many vowels
I wish they were only as weird as hymns or nymph!
Used every guess and had to look up the board afterwards XD
Squardle is always putting tough words honestly, I’ve failed a couple times when I’ve never failed on other games like wordle, Mather, and quordle
On all other days Squardle (in English) uses the same list of possible answers as Wordle does, so any word you see as an answer in Squardle will show up in Wordle one day if it hasn't already.
mathler?

Same I really wanted him to play this and I knew it was squardle by the title
Happy to learn new words
Unironically this was easy because it's difficult to guess different words if you get me
For looking for the last letter i would have done "joked"
I got all the words except one! hahahah what a freakin riddle man
If you havent done this before, for your next wordle, can you do "fifth"? since each word is 5 letters long.
Very impressive!
I spent 1 hour on this to realize it is April 1st
I actually solved it! With 0 guesses left! Also i'm new to this.
My brain hurts now lol
I was also surprised that there was no crwth in it
Congrats on 60k
AEIOU but ALWAYS “Y” lmao what a good joke lol
This must have fried your brain! Props to you, impressive.
When in doubt, use W. Welsh is just that way.
my starting word is cwtch so i got really lucky and was like wtf
I had a confusing time trying to solve this today
Forget squardle, this should be renamed welshle
That was torture lol
Lol cysts was my second guess after my usual guess
Funny Thing today I decided to do my first squardle Why On April fools
Today's wordle was similar to these words but it was more common
What can stop this man?
i got three words with only one guess left lol
I did this with only 1 guess remaining
Ngl I am pretty happy that I got 1 correct (which was the top row)
i didnt solve it i just gave up after realizing there was no vowels lol. then a message pops up that says they arent gonna include this day in the stats bc they arent that cruel lmao
@@finlandtaipan4454 ohh i didnt even think of doing myrrh when i was doing this puzzle LOL
I got it with 3 tries left I was so confused when I saw a word had 0 vowels lol
2nd. For wordle could u try, SHEAR, MOUNT, FLICK
23:40 I would try bodge, tries b, d & g
Those Welsh words though
I actually got it today by trial and error! 👍
this is the reason why i am too scared to play word guessing games
1:52 flute?
GG! haha. thats insane thinking
I failed in the home stretch I was so close to getting it
English is not my first language and I didn't know most of the words, I solved it but i used up all my guesses.
do a wordle starting
with slate and bound
Tbh I just gave up after I found out no vowels lmao
Do WARdle the MLB wordle
How did you do that?!?!? I don’t even get how to play. Lol
Next video you should do Crane, Ghost, and Found
Cwtch is a welsh word meaning hutch
Great video! What’s the outro music?
Idk
No vowels? I am expecting Welsh.
Apparently all of these are actually words
I gave up on this one 😂😂
Try playing squabble it’s a battle Royale style wordless type of thing
Day 6 of asking. You should do audio, nymph, and frets.
i loved this lol
I'm like what how come the only vowel is y and it's technically not a vowel in English anyway and then in one word it's not there...
This is so evil lol. If it was normal words with all Ys, I think that would be pretty fun, but cwtch??? We're doing welsh now???
