This seems harder and easier at the same time. Harder because of the words to guesses ratio but easier because there’s way more information that limits options and makes correct guesses more apparent.
Suggestion: for the black and green you can hide all of the icons. The green letters are clear and the black letters are also shaded black in the keyboard
@@StroSolves the big difference is crosswords are usually not fully comprised of words (they often have names, multi word clues, abbreviations, initialisms, etc) I imagine there's still plenty of valid boards, but I think there will always be lots of E's in those bottom and right most words! Another similar puzzle (squareword) does one of these boards every day with no problem.
@@StroSolves Given that each word has to have a letter in common with four other words, I think the possible number of boards becomes very small and I think we even get to be in range of brute forcing puzzles like these, based solely on that restriction
After the first 5 guesses, scott had 4/5 letters for utile. When he had the t, l, and e placed in, the word was solved (because "I" couldn't be at the top, only the middle). That in mind, it was a pretty tough word but still a good solve, very well thought out regardless haha
When you said "U" and "I" is in the same word, UTILE instantly came to my mind, and I'm so proud of myself because I usually don't get a lot of good guesses
2:20 "hiding repetitive information" what i've started doing is i click twice to hide all the green clues and black clues cause green clues i can see on the board, and black clues i can see on the keyboard image. white clues are clicked once to go semi-transparent when i find my first instance of that letter in the grid, red, yellow, orange clues are clicked once for semi transparent when i find the letter it's pointing to in the word. and since yellow, orange, red, and white clues all give details about what you will/won't find in the row/column... if all the letters in the row or column are known, then the semitransparent clues can be hidden completely. it really helps me to hide as many clues as possible, as i can more easily see the sudoku logic of possibility space, and it's a nice mental checklist of "ooh right there's a D somewhere i still gotta find"
Suggestion: you should try playing “Semantle”. Very challenging but addicting. You’re guessing a secret word by guessing other random words. Each word guessed gives you a similarity score based on how similar a word it is.
of all the word games I play, semantle is the most frustrating, but also the one my wife and I look forward to the most each day. we race to see who can get it first and in less guesses. then we torment the other by asking if they want hints
I realized I was about to lose the first week's puzzle so I quit before I lost so I can watch you solve it and maybe realize some strategies for this kind of puzzle Maybe at the end of this video I'll be able to solve it
Just tried this week's and surprised myself by finishing with 8 guesses remaining. One cell off finishing with more than I started with but picked the wrong letter from two possibilities.
I was able to get today's duotrigordle in 33 (only one extra guess) for the first time today! I did use a little bit of help from a program I wrote to determine a good starting word and the possible target words for some of the patterns on that first word, but I'm still proud of myself! I'd like to see you try to do the same, but a more realistic target for consistency is 34 guesses, which I think you can manage!
You might want to not put in the blue circles until you are certain the letter is correct (via logic). Several times you deleted correct letters that you had already confirmed because they didn't "look right," when in fact there were no other options.
Yes, that's true. Which is another reason that a word like 'RELET' is a good guess if you know there is an E, since double Es seem to be fairly common.
so the double arrows only seem to show up when both letters are in the same direction from the guess, since the orange t on the top right didn't give 2 sets of arrows up and down but the orange e in the bottom right did so, even for both directions, so that's something to keep in mind
Green=correct red=in that column orange=in row and column yellow=in that row grey/gray=not in that column or row dark grey/gray=not in any of the words
You offered no explanation of why the L was third in the bottom word (and ignored the red L in the first word) and I sat here confused for several minutes And then started to do the same for the first slot in that same word (quickly found the other location) Could’ve gleaned more information with the guess of “Crass” instead of “Class” since you already had the L You got it next guess, though, on the second row/column Just want to make it clear I comment on things like this or errors to work as reminders for future puzzles to avoid a fail because of something like this. It might be that you don’t realize something that we see and it helps in the future. Hindsight and all that, but still helps for learning
Yeah, this isn't actually one of the official weekly squardles. They made a special one for me to do on video so that I wouldn't spoil week 1 for people.
This seems harder and easier at the same time. Harder because of the words to guesses ratio but easier because there’s way more information that limits options and makes correct guesses more apparent.
its easier if you can get 1 word because then you get a ton of bonus guesses i did this one with 7 left because i got so many bonus guesses at the end
9:00 why does his voice match the song so perfectly. it sounds so harmonic. i love it
Omg thanks for bringing that to my attention haha
7:28 ♫ A-G-L-E-T, don't forget it! ♫
Never forget that how these words fits perfectly together
it’s so crazy how they all have to fit perfectly together to make the puzzle complete
Suggestion: for the black and green you can hide all of the icons. The green letters are clear and the black letters are also shaded black in the keyboard
Even better hide out all the hints used then you only keep the ones you still need to find where they are.
not the grays
I wonder how many possible boards there can be with this full 5x5 board
Probably a lot. It's basically like a small section of a crossword, and there are tons of those.
@@StroSolves the big difference is crosswords are usually not fully comprised of words (they often have names, multi word clues, abbreviations, initialisms, etc)

@@StroSolves the website there's only a limited number of boards, that's why it's only a weekly thing...
On his patreon furby mentions that these are much harder to generate, not feasible to do daily.

Hi, for the Wordle start with my starting words, GHAST DIVER JUMBO
When you said "U" and "I" is in the same word, UTILE instantly came to my mind, and I'm so proud of myself because I usually don't get a lot of good guesses
7:35 my fellow phineas and ferb friends know exactly what the bottom row could be…

Hi, Scott! I think it would be interesting to use a five word start on this weekly squardle: GLENT BRICK JUMPY WAQFS VOZHD!
I was rooting for Aglet :)
Suggestion: you should try playing “Semantle”. Very challenging but addicting. You’re guessing a secret word by guessing other random words. Each word guessed gives you a similarity score based on how similar a word it is.

It is super though ….
You look like someone near the end of moonknight ep 4
Check out todays duotrigordle because it is interesting.
Also please check out kilordle - 1000 wordles at once!
so satisfying when it all comes out together and everythng fits perfectly
I realized I was about to lose the first week's puzzle so I quit before I lost so I can watch you solve it and maybe realize some strategies for this kind of puzzle
Maybe at the end of this video I'll be able to solve it
07:03 why do you say L is not second? There is a red L on second column from row1
Just tried this week's and surprised myself by finishing with 8 guesses remaining. One cell off finishing with more than I started with but picked the wrong letter from two possibilities.
9:01 I thought for sure he was going to start singing to the background song
for wordle, I always start with ADIEU and STONY. *it really helps with today’s wordle*
Did the weekly Squardle had 2 left to spare it is tougher
This feels too intense but also probably satisfying when it works. You did great with 4 guesses to spare 👏🏼👏🏼
When Scott had UT i was screaming utile and when he had the ET at the end I was screaming sleet
I was able to get today's duotrigordle in 33 (only one extra guess) for the first time today!

This new mode seems pretty similar to squarewordle except it limits you with the 8 guesses, pretty interesting!

Proposal for a new OED entrant:
Uvian (adj.):
1. Of or pertaining to grapes, having grapelike qualities.
As a Spanish speaker, whose word for grape remains the same as Latin's (uva), I am in favor of this.
Oh my god I just finished squardle weekly #1 by guessing my way through even easier than normal
I've been playing enough Duotrigordle that I was screaming UTILE for most of the video. You had it super early
Could you do Straw Berry Fruit Snack
17:20 “no white letters.”
*V cries in row 2 column 3*
I noticed something in all of the wordles. Out of wordle, quordle, squarely, etc. there haven’t been any plurals. I thought this might be helpful.
I saw "utile" for like 5 minutes and yelled at my screen UTILE UTILE UTILE ITS UTILE🤣🤣🤣
You might want to not put in the blue circles until you are certain the letter is correct (via logic). Several times you deleted correct letters that you had already confirmed because they didn't "look right," when in fact there were no other options.
I start with slope, chair, and funky. It usually does me very well. Hope you try it!
Can you try the quordle on the 2nd may as it’s quite tricky
11:11 i read in the rules that you can only get double arrows if and only if you also tried double letter in your guess.
Yes, that's true. Which is another reason that a word like 'RELET' is a good guess if you know there is an E, since double Es seem to be fairly common.
Wow! That’s so cool!
2 v's was very interesting for the 0th squardle
16:35 you missed the white v but at least you got it
For quordle you or octordle you could start with tubes, fling, champ, and wordy
so the double arrows only seem to show up when both letters are in the same direction from the guess, since the orange t on the top right didn't give 2 sets of arrows up and down but the orange e in the bottom right did so, even for both directions, so that's something to keep in mind
No it is only if you guess two of that letter in your guess word.
@@PurpleSidewalk1 so only if you guess two of the same letter, while there are two of this letter in the word but not in that position? interesting
I’m the fifth column and second row, the Orange T should have had two arrows on top
The wordle starts are usually PEACH and ROGUE.
Though I did use POWER and BUILD today
In honor of the FRC world championship winners, can you please try poofs, creek, night, and corps (optional 4th word)?
Green=correct red=in that column orange=in row and column yellow=in that row grey/gray=not in that column or row dark grey/gray=not in any of the words
You didn't have to do that but good that you did
15:02 in Italian utile means useful
Can you try the octordle for the may 2nd as there are a few interesting words
You should try today’s globle!! It’s pretty easy today and I haven’t seen you play it yet.
Woah, this seems interesting. Gonna try out the weekly puzzle now
Also, you should try the quordle for today. Kinda tough
You offered no explanation of why the L was third in the bottom word (and ignored the red L in the first word) and I sat here confused for several minutes
And then started to do the same for the first slot in that same word (quickly found the other location)
Could’ve gleaned more information with the guess of “Crass” instead of “Class” since you already had the L
You got it next guess, though, on the second row/column
Just want to make it clear I comment on things like this or errors to work as reminders for future puzzles to avoid a fail because of something like this. It might be that you don’t realize something that we see and it helps in the future.
Hindsight and all that, but still helps for learning
Hi! I just learned "b!tch" and "merde" are acceptable wordle guesses (for some reason XD). Maybe try using them as ur starting guesses?
7:29 A-G-L-E-T !
lieus foamy and crwth are good starting words to me
Can you do my starting words salet round and chimp
I can’t play it on my iPhone. There literally no button to press play.
You must do todays duotrigordle. Most interesting one so far
Yeah for real..
Try the quordle for may 2nd it’s quite interesting
Caustic start to wordle: Toxin, Drugs, and Venom
Day 5
Can you please try shaly, proud, and mince!
I enjoy your videos, Scott, but sometimes the background muzak is loud and distracting.
Try using climb ropes and adult as a starter in a rock climbing theme
Yes.
11:26 Fleet??
For squardle start with WAQFS VOZHD JUMPY GLENT BRICK which sounds interesting but kinda works?🤷♀️
With utile, you knew that it was utile way before you figured it out because of the red I and the red u
Hi Scott you should start with quail and money for wordle
Flame brick shunt podgy
7:03 why's he decide the L can't be second?
I beat the weekly squardle
Had to chuckle when you couldn’t see the V.
For Wordle start with the past 3 days words
Start with ARSON and UTILE next wordle
... pretty sure I got a different weekly squardle. Its pretty dope tho
Yeah, this isn't actually one of the official weekly squardles. They made a special one for me to do on video so that I wouldn't spoil week 1 for people.
