Ah. Okay, my excuse is that when you reach that scene, as far as you know, she's a teenager, since you only find out after the fight. Yeah, that works.
I'm pretty sure it was actually stated in MGS1 by Liquid, however it was retconned in MGS4 because of Naomi's explanation as you pointed out, but like I said I'm not 100% sure.
Just saw this on /r/Games. Nice video, loved the reference at the end. One small correction, Solid Snake's aging wasn't due to a defect in the cloning process. Snake's DNA was altered on purpose in order to protect the 'IP' per say, in case he was to ever switch sides. If someone tried to clone Solid Snake they would only have the defective DNA.

Great video but venom snake didn’t create outer heaven, big boss did, he just let Venom run it while he ran foxhound from America. Look at the ending blurb of phantom pain where it clearly differentiates big boss and his “phantom” in 1995.
The4thSnake sorry you’re right it is a minor point it’s just become a personal pet peeve of mine after having long drawn out arguments with people about how Venom didn’t establish outer heaven, some people believe venom ran foxhound and outer heaven until his death and big boss stayed underground until Zanzibar which isn’t true.

I don't know why, but I get the feeling 4th Snake isn't really fond of Mr. Hideo. Not that I blame him, though. Looking back, Kojima's writing is pretty hit or miss.
@Ultimate Hedgehog well duh no shit it's a prequel. But it's just like "wow, I've come so far with boss, too bad hes gonna die in the 4th game". Kinda bums me out
@Commander Dritz I managed to collect every canon Metal Gear game. The ones I believe I'm missing are: #1- Metal Gear: Ghost Babel for the GameBoy Color #2- The Metal Gear Acid games for the PSP #3- and finally Metal Gear Survive for the PS4 and Xbox One.
It would be interesting if cod and metal gear, kinda like the sea that happened kind of fringing on one another, definitely would make for an interesting gameplay that's for sure.. with zombies. and the backdrop of metal gear. With a few cameos. What is a metal gear type mission.
If you could choose one marvel character as a guest dlc character who and why would be ? I would include punisher to wear war machine armor, or be a venom punisher with the symbionts mixed the powers of ghost rider to punish and burn his victims, they could give him a captain America punisher skin
really good video. As a fan of MGS series this helped remember a lot things I may forgotten. I like MGSV but man Venom snake doesn't say much in cut scenes like tapes(Kaz and Ocelot sure talk a lot in those tapes along with Skull face) if wasn't for skull face torturing paz and chico and attacking XOF we wouldn't have gotten the Big Boss we know. Also we find out early AI stuff thanks to peace walker MGSV with Dr.StrangeLove and Vocal cord parasite causing zero to go crazy along with entrusting Zero Will aka The Boss Will(Zero, Big Boss and Skull Face all misinterpreted her will) to the AI whited causes the war economy later on.
I liked it overall, there's a few issues here and there and personally I preferred the tone and narrative of (don't panic) Peace Walker, which I found surprisingly engaging. The actual twist in MGS V is extremely well foreshadowed and serves a purpose to the plots of the MSX games and ties the series as a whole together. Like I said, there's some issues but it wasn't really awful. A lot of the problems could well be accounted to budgetary and time constraints towards the end of development, hence the abrupt ending.
@@CKT1138 I haven't finished the phantom pain yet but I had the twist spoiled and well how bad can it be? From what I've heard it sounds interesting and I wanna know what the fuck is happening. I'll have to wait and see it in-game

I've never got my head round the fact that Solidus Snake was apparently created in 1972 after Solid & Liquid, but appears older than both of them based on his appearance in MGS2. Plus, being created in 1972 makes him 33 in 2005 when he is US President, which would make him the youngest president in history - but he looks like a guys in his 50's? Maybe he aged rapidly sooner than Solid, despite being a more perfect clone of Big Boss than Snake. Then again, maybe its all a load of crap that Kojima made up as he went along!!!!
Good job! Though I would have preferred that you elaborate on some events. Like what was SOP and why was it created or how Boss went into space etc. I understand of course. It's a timeline not a story summary. Could you cover Castlevania and Resident Evil next (after 3d dlc)?
Thanks. I do wish I'd elaborated on some things, like how we know when Snake died or when Big Boss was born, but these videos are always super lengthy, so I didn't have room for them. I'm planning to cover those two some time in the future. I'm waiting for Vendetta and Not A Hero to come out for RE, and Castlevania will come some time next year, since the rest of this year is fully booked.
I know this is a year old but if you'd still like to know, SOP was a system put in place by the Patriots to have complete control of the battlefield by suppressing emotions, ID locking guns, and such. Snake dies about a year after MGS4 with a smile on his face, after spending what remained of his life crossing off a bucket list and traveling the world with Otacon and Sunny. Edit: Also The Boss went into space as part of a dangerous NASA project she subjected herself to, and was kept completely wiped from any records of such.
Not gonna lie I'm still confused... all this time I thought it was separate timelines or something and the reason why was because I was a kid when I played my first metal gear solid game. I played snake eater and remembered ocelot being young and then I played phantom pain and thought it was a different ocelot but I was wrong apparently...
Another reason I was confused is because the release dates of the games and the fact that it's a lot like star wars in terms of in game dates... what I mean by this is that star wars episode IV was actually the first one but just took place further ahead in that timeline.
wouldn't metal gear 5 also explain why we had so many body doubles for big boss? like the one we thought was killed somewhere half way through 4 (the skeletal guy in the bag) but then big boss appears later completely fine.
The4thSnake nope. there is one thing I need to tell you, there is gonna be a live action metal gear movie based on metal gear solid's shadow Moses so the series is continuing in a ways.

"A defect in the cloning process." According to who? Niomi explicitly states (in MGS4) that his accelerated ageing was by design. It's not a defect.
I know. I don't recall where I heard that, but that's what I thought it was at the time.
I'm pretty sure it was actually stated in MGS1 by Liquid, however it was retconned in MGS4 because of Naomi's explanation as you pointed out, but like I said I'm not 100% sure.
