Poor thing..it has a fin rot...be sure to buy fish medication...it will not last long with that condition
Delvengeance Vengeance true I got my fish medicine for 3$ and it works so perfect in my opinion
# iamsosmart
9:00 The betta you bought is suffering from fin rot. He is going through some serious shit. Please do not over feed him and remove the uneaten food. And please make sure that the tank is cycled. And also don't forget to google about fin rot and its treatment.
Akhilesh Halkarni I wonder how he got fin rot considering he was in that little cup
Akhilesh Halkarni dang ur a beta expert
Damn u no ur stuff
Sadly I didnt know that and one of my male bettas died his fins always looked like he bite them
James Dawson Bettas should be in heated water and the little cup isn’t nearly big enough. Also I doubt the water is changed enough. All of this stresses the fish out and is probably why he has fin rot
“Pick any fish you want “
*Picks the fish with fin rot thinking it’s a natural “wave”
ikr
LOL 😆 IM DEAD
LOL
FACTS

It looks too me like that betta you chose has a bit of fin rot.. Might wanna treat him and and do some pretty regular water changes for the first little while..
Marky Mark just gonna ask if anyone else thought that
Marky Mark that’s what I was thinking
That's what I was thinking to 🙌 I bought a betta that had been missing half his tail fin I learned to isolate him and do lots of water changes and over 6 weeks didn't know about how to treat him but he is almost fully healed I moved him to a 2 gallon aquarium and waiting for a heater for my 8.5 gallon tank to transfer to the bigger aquarium
Mark In My Country Where The Betta Came From We Just Chance The Water 100% Gave Them Some Good Bacteria And Some Cattapa Leave
It’s fin rot definitely, no betas fins should look like that. Unless they were specifically bred or something.
Bettas are fragile fishes. And this fish has already damaged fins. Put real plants in ur tank, install a heater, do the 4 weeks of the nitrogen cycle and remove the fake plant which is dangerous. Add good bacteria. Betta is a living being not a decoration. For the medical treatment of fish, make another small tray with a fin rot medicine, with water at 82 degrees. Find out more, read books on aquariophilia, look at specialized websites !!! Don't forget to clean the filter every month with the water of the tanl, make a 10% water change every week or every two weeks with water that has rested for 24 hours to remove heavy metals from the tap water and that the water is at the right temperature to avoid temperature shock ! Avoid overfeeding your fish to avoid pollution, nitrites in the tank, diseases and therefore the death of your fish !
Orcashark PREACH PREACH PREACH I’m so done with people not treating fish as they treat dogs and cats. Humans who do this make so upset.
me to
yeah
Thank you for this comment, I got my betta fish because he has fin rot and I want to help him. I read online that all you have to do is put them in a good size tank and that's it. Now I know though.
Finally someone who knows what their talking about!
1.) 10 gallons is the preferred number of gallons by most serious beta owners (I can understand this though.)
2.) He NEEDS a lid. There's a possibility he will jump out of the tank when you aren't around.
3.) The water seemed cloudy. There couldve been excessive amounts of calcium in your substrate. You may need a better substrate
4.) You're not supposed to pour the water they come in, into the tank. (Good job for acclimating at least) but the water they come in has so much ammonia build up in it, that once it hits air it can become toxic for your fish.
5.) You're supposed to let the water in your tank sit for a day or 2
6.) You probably havnt boiled your substrate. It helps to get rid of bacteria and excess calcium
I hope this helps
It seemed cloudy because of the New filter, always is like that , wait maybe 1 Day, and the water Will be great.
Personally I don't like putting a lid on a Betta tank. Just lower the water level instead
@@BubbaThePuppetMaster This is a good option!
Not sit for a few days but actually cycle the tank for 6 to 8 weeks.
You're supposed to cycle the tank for 2-4 weeks
She was so cute the way she was putting all those bettas in the basket! You can tell she’s a sweet person! She was so in to it! Love this video! Great couple!
You never put the water from the fish store in the tank, also that’s gonna make the fin rot worse.
That Betta had fin rot
Muhammed Khan yes but it’ll grow back due to its new environment
@@kenykenken3820 it's quite unfortunate, the body of the fish is very nice
What do u mean by fun rot?
Lol
Lol
That’s what I was saying the one she really liked
Oh I recommend you add the lid bc betas jump
(I’m sure you know he has fin rot)
No they dont
But it has fin rot
But still add a lid so no dust get in the tank or animal fur
The first betta you picked up had some serious fin rot. The fact you didnt catch that shows me just how much you know about bettas...
True. They said Natural Waves?! Like, BRUH. This is a fish channel and bettas are one of the most common fish in my opinion. They should know that the fish has fin rot.
Guuuuyyyyssss! He has fin rot! Its very noticeable! You need to treat it or it will just get worse. Please for this once actually pay attention to the comments!!
Betta’s really need a 7-10 gallon to be happy and healthy. They need a sponge filter and a temperature of 79-81, so a adjustable heater is really important. To help keep the water clear of Ammonia and Nitrates getting live plants is very helpful for him. You can’t put them together or they will kill each other. Make sure you get a water test kit. They will change colors drastically after you get them home. Water changes for a 5 gallon tank without plants will need 40% water changes every week with de-chlorinator. Also you never add store water to a home tank. Also, Betta’s are jumpers so you need a lid. It helps to understand the Nitrogen cycle. Remember Betta’s are one of the most abused fish in the fish hobby next to Goldfish. Betta’s live between three to four years in good conditions. They have personalities unmatched in the hobby. I recommend: Simply Betta, Rachel O’Leary, Solid Gold, Aquarium Co-Op, and The King of DIY vloggers to help with understanding fish keeping. I only want to help. Have a great day.
She's so giggly it's so adorable 😂😂😂😂😂
Put a lid they jump. Last thing you want is lulu to be 💀. Love your videos
His name is still unidentified
It should be fine. They only jump in a small body of water to escape to a new body of water. That’s what they do in the wild, they jump from drying puddles to other puddles. This fish has a good home so it’s a low chance that it would even jump
@@kenykenken3820 they could still always jump thou, so I think, just my opinion, they should always have a lid on the tank
Anna Larmore yeah but she likes her tank lid off so let her have it off. After all it’s still her tank.
@@kenykenken3820 so if the betta jump out we all know why? I'm not even trying to be rude but all they need is that lid on, you can't even tell when the lid is on the tank cause it glass
“AAH sHUt Upp” (me in class....)😂
Love your videos bro keep up the good work
I literally jumped off my feet with that fist bump sound effect you put in. 🥴 It came out of nowhere. Don’t turn your earphones full. 😂
Loved the Video.. so cute.. good luck with the new Beta... please take good care of him..
Early yay 😁 Love your vids.
Whoop whoop. We love you guys so much 😍
Oh my god do research before getting a fish. You didn't cycle the tank at all and you didn't even use water conditioner. Pure animal abuse
How do you know that they didn't use water conditioner? 🤔
They didn't research anything about buying a tank so as they didn't cycle I doubt they knew about water conditioner
I agree that they didn't cycle but she did use prime in the tank. She has a massive bottle of it. Prime is water conditioner and can help detoxify ammonia and nitrites for 48 hours. So if they do water changes every 48 hours for the next 6 to 8 weeks the fish may be OK for a fish in cycle. But that will most definitely stress him and his fin rot may get a lot worse.
cycling isnt as huge of a deal for bettas
It isn't abuse it just isn't ideal
I love your vids
Betta fish are hands down my favorite fish in the entire world.
Same. Also, thanks for reading my comment.
You got a pretty Betta fish!😍 I also vlogged getting my Betta fish! It is so hard to pick out one! LOL!🤣They are all so pretty & different!🤗
I am first time watching your video 📹 you guys amazing
I absolutely love the bright purple one. She should name him Angelo. You two belong together. You guys are a hoot...lol

Gorgeous Betta you picked !
Ikr the fin rot is so pretty
@@Supgangy 🤓
Lol Nalu, there’s a group of boys in my school that calls themselves “Nalu” 😂😂😂
The purple blue and red one was fire. She did pick a nice one still.
Nice videos but that beta looks like it has fin rot and you should tell her to put on a lid on the tank so her beta dosent jump out and die😟
She's so cute :P
Lucky you.
This reminds me in need some bettas for my parahnas !
Awesome vid. Awesome gift. Awesome girlfriend. Awesome. I really liked that bright red and blue one. My wife said that one should be named Captain America. But wehmen gets what wehmen wants, lol. Stay killing it J Slay and Lilly Slay Em. Much love, support, and respect from you boy Richard in Arkansas. #slayersquad
the double tail half moon was precious the blue one
If you still have the tank, you should put a lid, the betta can jump out. Mine never did, and one day i was feeding it and i jumped out and touched my hand. Sometimes they can be unpridictable.
You rock Joey love the videos keep it up you rock 👍🏻 and your fish are awesome and amazing
Joeyyyyy ssllaayyyy emmmmmm
I love a betta becouse she is lovely
Poor fish the one you were looking at has fin rot
That betta has a fiiiiiiin rooooooot
All these comments about getting a lid or the fish would jump out are giving me flashbacks to when I went to a pet store and there was a fighting fish flopping around on the floor so I picked it up and saved it! I was going to buy him but I got kicked out because they thought I took the fish out of the tank that I saved! 😂😂
Keep giving updates it was looking cute
You’re lucky to be in an area with a LFS like this, the largest in where I live only has dull red veil tails and occasionally a sick koi betta
I loved Betta too...😁
Thank you for putting him in a nicely sized tank!
Pet Craz
Too bad she did everything else wrong
The blue and white one was pretty
The red and blue beta you had was the exact same beta I had, and the crazy thing is in the eye today
Your next tank may i recommend decretive sand instead of rock. I learned this from researching and clarified it with my local pet store, but they like to try to the sand will prevent injury to the betta when it tries to blend in
PLEASE DONT STACK BETTAS! There is a reason they are in their own separate shelves because they can’t be stacked. There is a very visible hole for them to get oxygen.
You shouldn’t support companies that keep animals in disposable cups
Rosa Thompson ya I feel the same. Except I saw a beta while shopping for a 10 gallon tank for my fish even in worse condition than her paradise betta. This betta has half its tail gone. Other remaining bettas are eyeing me like saying “get me the heck out of here and into fresh clean water and adequate space” idk what to do I need to save money for my travel trip I want to take next year. At the same time I want to rescue these poor unfortunate babies from these careless heartless employees. The sink is literally right next to the betta wall how hard is it to just change the bettas water.
I agree but I rather buy a fish from the pet storeto save them then buy from a breeder
It’s so sad to have to see them suffer but unfortunately ‘saving’ betas from shops like this only fuels them, it tells the store that there is a demand for betas and that people will buy them regardless of the conditions they’re kept in. It’s heart breaking to have to let them suffer in the stores but the only clear way to send a message to the companies that abuse them is to make it public knowledge that you and others won’t buy from a store that abuses it’s animals. I struggle to understand why anyone would rather buy a fish from a store than a breeder, with a breeder you can almost guarantee a level of expertise and care for the animals but with large chain pet stores, staff are never properly educated on every animal sold and will often not provide accurate information for the desire to just make the sale.
Its pet smart, but I get where your coming from though. Btw, no hate.
Looks like a Peacock to me with all those colors and the big fins like a peacocks' big tail.
How about naming him Peacock?
that is a very beautiful Paradise male betta i hope that you treat it well the tank set up is great don't forget to feed it small amounts as it seems to have fin rot now fin rot is very harmful to the bettas fins as it eats away the fin till death so keep an eye if it gets worse go to the store you got him from and let the people know as they should have something for fin rot
The Betta are so Good...
Awesome fishes
I have a beta fish it is a darkish red colour , they are a pain to look after if you don’t live in a warm country (witch I don’t ) so we have to have a heater in there for him but he is 100% worth it
That it is very beautiful!!!
Love betta fish
bettas can jump out of their tank but if it had lid on it..
it would not.
Just depends on the betta
I have 6 beta without lids and none of them jump out.
Aww your baby fishie has a fin rot. It is treatable. He was probably one of the sickest one that you have picked. But that is good because now you can make him better!
Change water as often as you can and give good quality food. Google some ways that you can make him super healthy and grow back his beautiful fins ❤
1:05 OMG that is my FAVOURITE FISH of the WHOLE video
I like the bubble bee male
That’s good you got a beta they live very long some get into there teens and they do tricks awsome tank
I picked up the bumblebee beta today and I may end up some tetras fish as mates
Not sure if you noticed, or if others said, but it looks like the one you chose has fin rot. See the black on the tips of its fins and the tattered appearance? It’s not a serious condition, just get some aquarium salt and some meds for it and it a week it’s fins will start recovering.
have you got an update on the fish a year later?
I went to a petsmart a few days ago, they had so many “high quality” breeds. Lots of dragon scales, platinum, few koi’s..
Wow! Thats nice. I bet my PetSmart has only red and blue crowntails. Also thanks for adng my comment
how often should i change a 5 gallon tank with a betta and how much % (without live plants)
Poor fish
His fins are so damaged
I just wanna scoop him up treat him
Also you need a lid and if you do make sure it’s on PROPERLY
One of my bettas actually jumped out when I wasn’t looking but I managed to save him just in time
Still have me a fright though
Some live plants would be dope! And shrimp
POV: Tell me you didn’t do any research without telling me you didn’t do any research
Paradise
Little guy has fin rot, it is very treatable though. I would also look into getting a heater as betta are tropical. Lastly they will jump so even though the plant looks killer coming out of the tank you should consider putting a lid on so he does not jump out.
Did you cycle the tank ?
Yay I just love Lily. Seems like you got a good one Joey. Hey Lily what about a beta sorority?
Sir what's the good one filter 4 feet 18 tall 18 trench tank to
Does petco or where ever you are have rats? I am looking for some and really want to know before going.
Nice fish
Love your videos
That betta is gonna suffer from ammonia spikes so I suggest that you do frequent water changes for the first month at least, due to the water not being cycled in advance.
Love watching these kinds of videos
Did the betta live through the fin rot?
I love the. Bettas
What up joey salami!
Loved the part at 2:04.
Hahahah thanks man! Love your stuff!
Hit me up bro. You got a email?
Yeah I do bro! Joeyslayem@gmail.com but it’s easier to DM me on Instagram @ joey_slay_em
I got a clear twin tail male betta thats so clear its hard so see his fins in water and u and see his little spine
Best to have lids with betas 😊
I love betta fish
So wait, you didn’t cycle the tank before you got a fish? And on top of that you poured dirty cup water into the tank
