Awesome video! I have just got/fallen into this fantastic hobby, I have a British Hovercraft Company Marlin III. Ive had a lot of previous experience out on the water so I know I need solid comms with emergency services & other crafts if needed. What VHF system are you using there? Is it a handheld unit or fitted to the craft only plugging in your headset? Leading onto my next question where do I even start looking for headset units?
Marine standard VHF i(optional). Built into the unit for emergencies, ship to ship or shore. We currently use Pelter headsets which offer a lot versatility, but there is a variety others around. Search on the web. The HCGB guys use a motorcycle style intercom unit built into a standard earmuff for general use.
since hovercrafts use an air cushion to reduce friction I'd assume it helps with floating esp when moving. Doubt it can get waterlogged though, and it doesn't look so heavy.
They do float. The lower hull section is similar to boat. The holes that divert air to the skirt, are located above the water line. Most hovercraft have buoyancy compartments, while some have foam cover in fiberglass to provide flotation and rigidity to the hull.
I don't know this particular hovercraft, but in a T.V. show called Extreme Machines, back in the 90's, i saw a episode dedicated to hovercrafts. They put them to the test on the Sahara desert, and it did prettey good. They also tested the hovercraft on the Amazon jungle over a river with very strong currents, rocks, etc.
There was a time where i loved hovercrafts because how they worked and the amphibious factor, good to remember these guys
how does it work?
Hovercrafts are just so cool! I was watching this video for educational purpose but it was quite entertaining.
Would love one of these for Canada during the winters.
I'll bet you would.
But you probably annoy enough people with your ski-doo already.
Drinking and operating motorised vehicles is never ok.
Отличное решение передвижение даже в труднодоступных местах,но думаю надо пару таких для небольших путешествий 😊
Awesome piece of engineering

Can it be used for fishing, can it float on water while engine is off?

I want to go on there
Isn't it full of eels?
How well would a hovercraft do in a desert? Or the dust would destroy the engine
