@Andrew Lang, Kevin wasn't just "an original employee of SCAT" he was the Chief Engineer, During his time working for SCAT over 6,200 craft were built, its the equivalent of asking Orville Wright to build your Airplane! Kevin obviously knows his stuff and is a very capable engineer. It's also obvious that Kevin is passionate about hovercraft and knows the pitfalls and safety of going fast in a hovercraft. If there's one person who should build your Scat hovercraft for you, it has to be Kevin and I hope that Cletus joins the hover club of America and starts to race SCAT hovercrafts with Kevin as builder and Chief Engineer. Smiles and fun!

The fact that they could build a craft out of Carbon fibre and Kevlar and the snowmobile engines put out so much more power and are lighter than 30 years ago, it would be a rocket ship. Entertaining to watch!
This video brought back a flood of good memories for me... I had the pleasure of working with / for Chief Engineer Kevin when I was employed as SCAT's test pilot / flight instructor / craft demonstrator during the transition from belt drive to gear drive and the development of the SCAT II. Unfortunately I moved out of state right before the SCAT II was released and before SCAT went racing. Kip, Kevin, Guillermo and I worked extremely hard to make the SCAT II a much better - more refined craft than the original, and I believe we succeeded.

Brother! When I was a kid, my dad had one black and one white SCAT, the black one was newer with the liquid cooled twin, and that thing was a blast. Crossing public roads on it, when you are 12 on a 1980's FREAKING HOVERCRAFT is literally a 6th grade wet dream! I figured you'd just gotten rid of that thing, like we ended up doing after a couple years (traded them for an ARGO),. so glad to see it back on the channel.
