You are probably right but just as a AC fan perspective, but for me it is really a good experience where I'm having a feeling of skyrim, god of war and AC mixed type game... What do you think about it?
I like your point on that. My question would be do you think they are comparable in quality? I thought about comparing the games but Skyrim and God of War are so loved it felt disrespectful to even try and compare them.
Nah man I'm not comparing at all, I might not a good analiscis of games like you but only I want to tell you that many people loved Valhalla just for a different taste in assassins creed games but I also understand the point of Valhalla haters... They are not wrong tho 😅
@@Brayzon yeah they could've started a different game series, and if they included the AC missions part just a link of another game related to vikings timeline I think that would be epic, but Ubisoft wasn't going to take my opinion lol 😅
I just started ^playing I have like almost 30h of gametime and I gotta say I really enjoy this game and I'm really suprised now since I've tried it when I still read that Valhalla is a bad game. The negative flaws if this game is the gameplay that is pretty basic and kinda boring, also the movements feels clunky at times, the leveling up system is so random I feel like when you just add points into like (that token deals 5.3+damage) like I don't see the differences.... and finally yes the world is really repetitives because of how big it is (but it can also be a good thing, since you will spend a lot of time on this game and sometimes there's game I finished and I'm like wait that's it? I want more.) I got the biggest edition of Valhalla that included all the dlcs for like 30$ and I just cannot be disapointed for that price. The game is beautiful to look at, really immersive and I find myself enjoying upgrading my town. There's a lot to do maybe too much so that can be overwhelming. Like I just went to Asgard for the for time and I'm so glad I didn't get spoil because I had no idea they included this in the base game with Valka's quest and the Asgard area is amazing. That's why I have hard time finding this game bad there's like so much cool things. But the negatives points I mentionned aboved can be a deal breaker and I can understand why a lot of people don't like the game overal but to say it's like the worst game it's just crazy... I have fun imo I think if you play with the mindset to rush everything under 10h hours you just going to play with a grinding mindset you going to get exhausted. I play few hours and it's perfect I gradually advanced everything slowly.
Bunch of cry babys oh no its not he real OG days AC its so annoying like you have 100 options to play as assasins but nah they want everyone to play the same way.... Now they made mirage trying to come close to OG days playing as assasins creed and they literally made the worst game and almost none wants to play it... I love Valhalla and Odyssey lots of content , fun story and most of all personally for me amazing its cozy af amazing
Did you not watch the 10 commandments that Ubisoft themselves came up with lol. Thats like being mad someone complains about hitman becoming hack and slash when its supposed to be stealth. Mirage was good but held back by the Loki part from Valhalla.
I actually like mirage the story was easy to follow and think basim is a very interesting character I’ll say he’s on the level like bayek an ezio an can’t wait to see more of basim
Finding out that Alfred was a member of the hidden ones and that you were on the 'wrong side' would have made soooo much more sense. From Eivor's perspective we could have sympathised as he was just wanting his clan to survive but looking at it from an external perspective, u are a group of brutal invaders who show little mercy or contempt for their enemies. Gradually learning that there were more peaceful ways to go about settling would've meant that the end could even be near identical while creating some sort of character arc. Maybe you could have sided with the Hidden Ones having at the end once you discover you had unknowingly and inadvertently given the Order of the Ancients a strong foothold in a country they were not yet established. They should have taken elements like that from Edwards character in Black Flag. It's a similar premise imo, carefree rogue who cares little about those he hurts until he is slowly shown the damage his actions cause, leading the protagonist to become a wise and compassionate leader. And I feel it would still feel fresh with the twist.
How good is Valhalla? I'd say a 6.5-7/10. There are many things I don't like in Valhalla. The first and largest issue is the length. How some can play through all the DLC and the main story without wanting to be put to sleep is beyond me. A good chunk of the story is the same, help this person in this area, and secure an ally. A lot of people call out the mythological aspects of this game in particular. As some of the hate in Odyssey, people don't really like the mythological parts unless they just play games to play them. However, Odyssey actually gives technological explanations behind the fantastical elements and the Spear of Leonidas that gives the player crazy abilities, is an Isu superweapon. In Valhalla, has some witches would be the most magic in the actual world. Eivor has many visions that take him to see things through the Norse God, Odin. In AC though, there is no such thing as Gods, so Eivor's visions are a mythological interpretation of what he doesn't understand. This doesn't break the magical rule like the Witches do and they are very low. I'd also add they probably used illusions as I can't remember them to much. The world of Valhalla was beautiful and to me, the only people that call it lifeless must be staying in the forests or away from settlements. Combat to me was great, and the only upgrade from Odyssey. Stealth while being openly advocated against in the game, can happen and its just as thrilling and nice as other games if you pull it off. I could probably write an essay about what I wanted in Valhalla, but for me, it's a significant downgrade from Odyssey. Its fun and better than it gets credit for, but its not as good as most of the games released prior to it.
Lol 😂🤣 I remember one time I was playing it I felt asleep I was like hell nah I ain’t never had a game put me to sleep an playing this game high ain’t it that shit blew my high 🤣 it was to the point I had to wait two or three months to actually beat
AC Valhalla was the first AC i played in a long time. Before that i played Ac Black Flag and abandon it after 10 Hours because i was bored of the Story and the Ship Combat. Valhalla has its Flaws too. Mainly the old "Hey, we must include some Animus Story Stuff and transparent Cube jumping in the Game because...i don't know...that's what People want, right?". The Combat System is ok, no Dark Souls of course, but fun. I don't mind the Map full of Symbols, because i don't NEED to do all Missions. Story is ok, nothing really special, but it keeps me going. Overall a good Game that lets me explore and hurts nobody aside from some "diehard Fans".
See i play games like AC for the story so if I dont like the story instantly I dont enjoy it. If I want good combat like you said I'll go play Elden Ring.
You say ac Valhalla is hard to tell that it’s an ac game if you take out the hood and hidden blade I strongly disagree you just described ac odyssey no blade no hood makin Valhalla an ac game and there’s like 3 time in the game where you tasked with takin out multiple members of the order and theses assassinations are very similar to ac1 and a few of the older ac games Valhalla is buy far the most assassins creed game we’ve had in years is said that mirage is a love letter to the old games but I disagree I still see it as a dlc to Valhalla further addin to the Greatness of Valhalla
I think the games pretty good. Even as someone who likes the older games more i think the rpg style games are still awesome games. I thought mirage was good too.
I’m enjoying it so much. There used to be a ton of side quests and random boss meet ups that are impossible to tackle at lower levels. It’s not hide and strike game but it’s solid. Norway cold and snow reminded me of our winters. Gross.
Respectfully, i disagree with this take. I been playing AC since AC 2. I liked valhalla overall. It was refreshing from the original in which now we were vikings. Vikings dont fight the same way as the normal warriors; i liked the change up in weapons and combat with what ever you selected to fight with. You can use different style weapons which qued different fighting styles like shield & sword/ double axe, double spears etc. You could always go stealth like the og games but you can now also go full guns blazing without a insta death feeling when outnumbered. I liked evior being a reincarnated odin and his bother being a norse god aswell. It made them fighting about key decisions more impactful because you both wanted whats best for the raven clan. I like how odin was affecting the decisions of evior and how it conflicts with the original ways of the creed. I understood the meaning of needing many alliances because england was “big” and it was needed to cripple the templar/ order of the ancients system so i dont have too much of a problem with that. I feel as if more people want a follow up sequel to certain games in the franchise instead of new experiences within different time periods. I personally dont want 10x games expanding the same character or story or motives. I love ezio, still dont want a repetitive game of him. I like them implementing different views and characters into the creed who arent the same as the last and have different routes into becomming an assassin. They dont do things exactly the same. I feel as thats what gives valhalla its identity along with the other games more recent in the franchise. I dont think valhalla was bad. For sure not the #1 game in the series but it still wasnt a bad game.
Mhmm I been with them since ac 1 an I was 11 when I first play it and play all the ac games an overall I’ll say the best game they drop was odyssey it was fun and different playing as a isu hybrid was something I dream of since I was a kid and wanted to dive deep in the isu lore but I didn’t play odyssey till I turn 22 cause video games was just not on my mind when I started working at 17
Yea something off bout it maybe if they didn’t add that fucking stamina bar an actually have the male be canon an flush out the combat more cause in my opinion Valhalla combat had potential to be the best but they drop the ball the combat felt a lil bit like ac3 just a bit
But it’s still a ac game like I don’t get what people are talking bout it’s a game where u play as a Viking warrior who stuck between the two conflicts and how the Templars was created
I haven't played this YET, but.. what has annoyed me as someone who played the first 3 ac. You allways had to kill with the blade.. no poison.. no making it look like an accident... yes they should not have named the game like this. What they should have done is gone completely read dead redemption style. But with the actual dlc's they have. I basicly want a Viking game with SIFU mechanics. and blade damage that is simulator like and not arcade.
Honestly if ac Valhalla was just named Valhalla and didn’t have the ac name card then I think it wouldn’t of gotten the criticism it has gotten b/c if u look at Valhalla’s lore (isu arc in specific) deeply you can see how beautifully they combined and connected isu lore with Norse mythology and if they just made this game as a spin off to tell and fill in the gaps of the isu lore we know and the ac lore then this game wouldn’t of had much criticism but all in all it’s a good game if u come into it thinking it as a Viking lore dump not a traditional ac game
I mostly agree. IMO, Valhalla and Odyssey should have been spin offs called Isu Legends or something like that, and just remove the whole Animus part and simply have the games play out in real-time in the respective historical time periods because it makes no sense to have dialogue options and different outcomes to situations when you are supposed to be reliving a person's genetic memories (and I know they excuse it, I just find the explanation to be very unsatisfying). Even so, I still think the games would have been rightly criticised for their bloated, repetitive worlds, poor stories, the illusion of choice, and their general disregard for the historical settings in which they supposedly take place. But please don't think of Valhalla as a Viking lore dump - it barely gets anything right about the Vikings or the culture and material culture of the period in which they lived.
Its just because fanboys are impossible to please, for years every game was the same and people complained that they wanted something new, when they did something new they wanted it to stay the same as the originals. The old games were to easy, and in my opinion there is more stealth options than the old games, you couldnt even crouch behind cover in the older games and you could one shot literally everyone in a second. The rpgs are better get over it
Usually a hidden blade to the neck would one shot someone yeah.. I play Assassin's Creed to be an Assassin. If I want an open world game with great fighting I will go play Elden ring its combat is way better and more challenging. The combat isnt hard in the new games just clunky.
@@Brayzon yeah but when you are surrounded by 30-40 enemies and you can insta kill all of them in a few seconds with one button it's stupid as hell and too easy
@@joshd270 What game are you talking about that you can do that? The old AC's very rarely did you get into those situations and you definitely couldnt use an ability to instakill all of them. If you're talking Elden Ring then sure maybe certain mobs but the challenge is the bosses who take hundreds of deaths to beat
@@Brayzon bro ezio could counter attack and kill literally any enemy instantly with the kill chain, there was even a challenge mode in brotherhood where you tried to get the highest kill combo you could. Go play the ezio trilogy again and tell me I'm wrong. I played through all of them multiple times. It was the same in black flag
@@joshd270 Insta killing 30-40 enemies and being able counter enemies way weaker than our character and killing them are two different things. If I am the most skilled fighter by a landslide yes I should be able to take them out quickly.
It's a game where you need to take bites not try and speed run it like a reviewer. It's amazing just to take your time and get lost exploring the world
Actually parkour with eivor is actually fun if u learn the mechanics u will be a beast like with odyssey cause when I was playing it around with it Kassandra started doing flips and shit 😂
Finally have the opportunity to play the game. I even watched Vikings, the last kingdom, even the northman to be more immersed into this shit. I couldn't help but think how they can manage to have EVERYTHING (Darby McDevitt as narrative writer. THREE composers for the music) yet what was delivered in the game was not enough or good enough. The storyline is inconsistent due to the many arcs not intersecting ever since Eivor arriving at England.
Darby mcdevitt is only one guy I give him credit for this game cuz I’m on my second playthrough what I did to actually enjoy the game was not worry bout what I wanted in the game just play it for what it is an I had a blast 😂 but was still mad bout that damm stamina bar an the abilities suck they was not as op how odyssey abilities
I havent really played assassins creed since Black Flag , but picked up Origins and Valhalla for 15$ on sale last week. Skipped Odyssey as i hear theres no hidden blade in that so that was a no deal for me. But holy hell ive been playing Valhalla non stop since then. Loving this game so much and looking forward to playing Origins after i finish Valhalla. 🙌
Tbf they could’ve kept that “Eivor and Sigurd are reincarnations of Norse Gods” storyline to themselves… I’m sure all it did was confuse people, and it was kinda boring tbh it’s a long game really because the forced dialogue and narrative pieces.
@@Brayzon I agreed with what you’re saying, but imo it was dumb af lol like why confuse your fan base even more with more convoluted lore ? Still haven’t bought Mirage, even on sale and I’m kinda afraid to tbh. I’m scared to watch a favorite franchise of mines die slow.
I mean I like to go off personal experience and since it’s free I started playing it I just began but I have already found one thing I don’t like and it’s the climbing shi it can get really annoying sometime trying to go thru a window and I’m also not comparing it to old creed im comparing it to odyssey cuzz ik there not ganna be like the old one
Bruh, imagine playing a game for supposedly dozens of hours in order to make an informative video and not bothering to learn the main character's name. How is anyone supposed to take it seriously if you get something so simple wrong?
@@BrayzonI can't tell if this is a sarcastic question but, if not, it's because you consistently call Eivor 3:55 while her name is actually pronounced "Hey-vor", and it's pronounced like tha tby every character in the game.
@@ThumbSipper I would disagree that its not learning the characters name it's just how I feel comfortable pronouncing it. Totally understand that you dont like it though!
Interesting take, I disagree I think Unity was the worst timed games with bugs. Ps4 had just come out so a lot of people including myself didnt have the console yet and it was unplayable with bugs. But once people played it they realized the mechanics were great. But to each their own!
@@Brayzon Unity is still one of the lower tier games all around. It's just not as good as other games. Its deserves love, but it's not worthy of half the praise it gets. Mods really make the game much better. Valhalla is a solid a AC game. I think people want the franchise to solely focus on an assassin protagonist. Valhalla will eventually be called a great game, like Odyssey is now getting love for being an amazing game in the AC universe.
@@Brayzon The reviews speak for themselves. The only people that seem to hate Odyssey are the ones that want Unity 2 and 3. There's also supplemental videos speaking on how is Odyssey now. Valhalla isn't as good as Odyssey to me so I didn't like everything in it. Them master challenges are perhaps the most annoying thing in the series, but Eivor is a solid protagonist. To each their own however.

Wow, I'm in love with England.
Sarcasm
Norway should have been the main focus.
lol
When I look at the comments there's no other explanation besides massive stockholm syndrome inside the AC community. We deserve good games yall
Agreed
Some of us sincerely enjoyed it
If this was released before Origins and Odyssey then this would have been okay for me. This should have been a linear game instead of open world.
The game is fire if you take Assassin out of the tittle and replace it with Viking. Let’s be honest
Wouldnt say fire but I think if they took AC out of the title it could have been better
I started playing for the first time this month and I love it but there is so much to do on it lol
You can definitely fast travel in AC 2 not just black flag
Eivor is clunky and slow.
Exactly what an Assassin SHOULD be, right?
Definitely not
The criticism from AC devotees may be fair, I'm going to buy and play this game as a Viking game, no an AC game. I think I'm going to really enjoy it.
I think theres better viking games but I think youll enjoy the gameplay
It's a game where you need to take bites not try and speed run it like a reviewer.
It's amazing just to take your time and get lost exploring the world
Game is actually decent combat is average but the I love the historical accuracy for the most part. Makes me feel like I'm playing Last Kingdom
Actually parkour with eivor is actually fun if u learn the mechanics u will be a beast like with odyssey cause when I was playing it around with it Kassandra started doing flips and shit 😂
I felt like they all became the same game.... but I'm also not a huge lore people great video though!
The last 2 have been copy and paste forsure
I have been playing for over 1 year I’m 89% complete I will hit 💯 % I will..
good luck!
I like ac valhalla for what it is. I’m not into AC games but I find it quite good.
Yep. Huge letdown in my opinion but I guess not everyone agrees
The comments made me buy this game
I havent really played assassins creed since Black Flag , but picked up Origins and Valhalla for 15$ on sale last week. Skipped Odyssey as i hear theres no hidden blade in that so that was a no deal for me. But holy hell ive been playing Valhalla non stop since then. Loving this game so much and looking forward to playing Origins after i finish Valhalla. 🙌
If you enjoy Valhalla youll probably like Odyssey's gameplay theyre very similar
@@Brayzon thanks man. Will definitely pick up Odyssey after I'm done with Valhalla and Origins.
I haven't played a AC game since Brotherhood lol so this will be a fun watch
Good luck. You will probably agree with me then lol
This game is fantastic.
Starts off a 7 and turns into a 6 out of 10
6 would be generous for me
Tbf they could’ve kept that “Eivor and Sigurd are reincarnations of Norse Gods” storyline to themselves… I’m sure all it did was confuse people, and it was kinda boring tbh it’s a long game really because the forced dialogue and narrative pieces.
Agreed, I just felt like taking that out of the game isn't an option to them which is why I just left it in lol. But agreed. I can do without it.
@@jamariojackson4289 It's a way better game, but still held back from Valhalla tbh. Basim could have been much better with a cleaner slate
@@Brayzon Yeah idk I’ll probably until it’s like 20-25 or something.
@@jamariojackson4289 For the length I think thats a solid option
It's not a bad game, but it's a terrible AC game
I mean I like to go off personal experience and since it’s free I started playing it I just began but I have already found one thing I don’t like and it’s the climbing shi it can get really annoying sometime trying to go thru a window and I’m also not comparing it to old creed im comparing it to odyssey cuzz ik there not ganna be like the old one
thats fair, Climbing is trash
Once u learn how to play with it not gone like it becomes a lil fun but is what it is I learnt u don’t always get what u want in life
23:12 Yeah well you also have to remember eivors a viking
Then dont choose a time period if it doesnt work for the series!
@@Brayzon I also wanna point out as a viking if I kill too many Non hostile people I will die. In a viking game!
@@B1_1_9_7_5 Well thats not very freedom of choice of them!
Underrated..i think it sold very good n is super overrated
Bruh, imagine playing a game for supposedly dozens of hours in order to make an informative video and not bothering to learn the main character's name. How is anyone supposed to take it seriously if you get something so simple wrong?
How did I get it wrong?
@@BrayzonI can't tell if this is a sarcastic question but, if not, it's because you consistently call Eivor 3:55 while her name is actually pronounced "Hey-vor", and it's pronounced like tha tby every character in the game.
@@ThumbSipper I would disagree that its not learning the characters name it's just how I feel comfortable pronouncing it. Totally understand that you dont like it though!
I've always seen what the fools won't. Valhalla will be as revered as Unity is in due time, even if it finally happens in 2030.
@@ac_nerd9794 Idk where you see Odyssey being a loved game in the universe lol but the only love I see is from people who like hack and slash.
@@ac_nerd9794 I just dont play Assassin's Creed to run around a massive open world hack and slashing tbh. Thats like hitman turning into a hack and slash. Makes no sense
