      Was there a link to the replacement you bought? I can't seem to find a reasonably priced legit product. Either it's $175 each from a reputable parts company or $45 total on Amazon with low reviews. Link?

    As a woman in her 80's, I couldn't wait any longer for my son to replace my split visor. Watched your video a few times, sat in my car and replaced the visor - couldn't believe how simple it was from your instructions. Thank you so much.

    Thank you. Very straight-forward and helped me when the dealer insisted I could never install this myself. Honda should replace these free of cost but the part alone was $75.

    Thanks for putting up this video, the visor is so simple to replace. I bought my civic coupe about a year ago and I started having problems the very first week, since it was used I just dealt with it. I finally got another visor and 10 minutes later it's good as new, I never thought a video on installing a new one would be on RUclips.

    Nice, thanks for sharing, yea when I had my 2006 Honda Civic LX there was a manufacturer defect on the sun visors. And at the time in 2006-2007 I still had bumper to bumper warranty on my Civic and the dealer replaced it free of charge.

    Honda should be ashamed of itself. I've had this happen on 4 Honda vehicles in our family. 3 Civics (2010, 2 x 2011) and 1 2011 Honda Accord.

    • @BigDog50001
      @BigDog50001  7 лет назад +1

      Khyber Safi Yep. If you own Hondas, two things you can be sure of repairing are window regulators and sun visors.

    • @khybersafi9137
      @khybersafi9137 7 лет назад

      You are correct sir. Speaking of window regulators, the one on my 2011 Civic seems to have taken a dump. It's the rear passenger door window regulator.

    • @BigDog50001
      @BigDog50001  7 лет назад

      Khyber Safi I made a video on the front passenger window regulator for this vehicle if you haven't done one yet. Rear is similar.

    Any easier and you would have had to come here and do it for me.
    And I totally agree with yours and other’s opinion - Honda should pay to replace these items for the entire life of the respective vehicles.

    Honda knows this is a problem and should get a new design or at least fix the ones that fail. The visor and all exterior trim is failing on my 2011. Their quality is not what it use to be. This is my last Honda. Won't buy a Honda again. Switching to Toyota.

    Hi, this video was awesome (I’ve been putting it off because honestly I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to do it) and I wish I’d known how easy it actually was!
    I have an issue I can’t even find on the net and that is that the visor is too tight 🤷🏻‍♀️ I loosened the screw but I realized they didn’t have anything to do with it. I don’t want it to break on me. Got any advice? Thanks!!

    I had the drivers side replaced during the original recall for it back in 2011. But just had the passenger side break. Glad it was as easy as I thought it was to replace it. But the current price I just paid my dealership for a replacement one was $99. Don't know if I could have found it anywhere else cheaper, but at least I'm not paying for the labor.

    • @BigDog50001
      @BigDog50001  5 лет назад +1

      Sometimes the color is listed on a sticker inside the driver's door. Another alternative is to give a Honda dealer the VIN or plug the VIN into an online dealer site like Honda Parts Now and that will usually get the correct part number.

    These visors are rubbish haha. My 08 civic has the same thing. Happened after the hot Australian summer this year. One day I got in the car and noticed that the visor was stuffed. It looks EXACTLY like your broken one in the video. Doesn't stay up anymore either. Honda should have recalled these cause they are cheaply made. What's worse is the replacements haven't been fixed afaik so you buy one put it on then 2 years later it's broken again. Thankfully the parts only like $40 aud. At least they made it simple to replace it.

  • @pbr4814

    Thanks for the video but this is a visor replacement and not a repair. The visors for the 2006-2012 Civic were poorly designed. Eventually, Honda was sued and chose to settle the Class Action Lawsuit by replacing defective visors on specific models. Many visors were replaced this way but unfortunately this was just a temporary fix because Honda failed to correct the original poor design. My 2007 Civic received replacement visors in 2011. It is now 2016 and guess what ... the replacement visors are failing.
    Good job Honda!
    If your visor(s) are failing you have two options: 1) Buy new replacement visors. The cheapest (new) visor from Honda can be purchased via ebay for less than $50 (each). You then follow this video to replace them. Total cost = $100 or so. 2) You can repair the visors by following videos here on RUclips. Search for "honda civic visor repair" and you will find a few. Total cost of repair is about $2 per visor and some of your time.

    • @BigDog50001
      @BigDog50001  8 лет назад +1

      Semantics on the wording, when you fix your vehicle its called a repair. But I do have it listed as replacement in the description of the video and the opening title. If you actually watched the video, you would see I spoke about the design, repairing it and about the lawsuits and settlements.
