@@mathewbaricza3419 they made the playoffs but got knocked out in game 7 against Estevan in overtime in the 1st round. it was an awesome game to be at.
It was a very emotional night for this hockey team. Their first game since a fatal bus accident. To me as a hockey fan since I was 8, i have never seen such a postgame ceremony which so many people of that hockey team past away in a horrible bus crash. I will pray for this hockey team to pull from this tragedy.
The pain and hurt that those boys are feeling at 1:45 just rips you apart inside. These are just teenagers/20-21 year olds. Tough for all :( #humboldtstrong
I remember in a hockey news magazine they had all the players and their age. I saw 16 and was just thinking “that’s too young to die” then I found out his birthday was so close. I feel so bad for everyone in the crash, and everyone who’s been affected
For anyone curious. The Broncos rebuilt club played a very strong season, a lot stronger then anyone would have thought. Last night they lost in a Game 7 Overtime to Estevan, but needless to say, a lot to be proud of in the resilience of the club! #HumboldtStrong
You got that right. But unfortunately this avoidable tragedy can happen again because the Canadian government still refuses to put seatbelts in buses. It's an insult to the people died and their families when nothing changes after a tragedy. Clearly the government doesn't care about these death.
It was already tough to watch and then I got to 1:46 😭 these poor players, families and friends. Can’t even begin to comprehend this level of a loss. Stay strong everyone
As the NHL preseason starts, the players and rivalries start to begin on the ice once again, before that puck drops please just take a moment for silence for the broncos as this will leave a huge hole in the hockey world and in any world, May Humboldt Live in forever in our hearts and Rest In Peace to those who lost their lives on the ice doing what they loved to do #PrayersForHumboldt
Heart sinks when you hear tragedies like this......man im hoping the yotes do better....i know we wont win the cup anytime soon....but i sure want us to be a playoff team
I was at tears when the crash happened. We played hockey the next day. We all had green tape and there was a moment of silence. My friends uncle was the health person on the swift current broncos he knew everyone on the team. R.i.p. we probably will never forget this as a hockey community and will pay great gratitude to those who were lost. Go broncos go
So emotional. As a Canadian and hockey player myself I still think about this and tear up. As hockey is starting again I'm happy to play a game I love.
Wow. I don’t know any of these people, and don’t know he team, but man this hit me. I never thought I’d be crying watching this but I am. Very very emotional. Man. It really hit me. Prayers up to their families and friends. No family should ever experience this.
these kids were only a few years older than me playing the sport we all loved with their brothers... all hockey players, and players of any sport for that matter, know the bond you have with your teammates, it’s like they lost immediate family members... i wish all of them best #HumboldtStrong
Because it's ESPN and god forbid, they showed something related to hockey, so all the basketball nuts have to get triggered because they aren't showing some shit about LeBron...
I tried to do a moment of silence myself and I broke down. I was silent the whole time and then when we were supposed to be silent I start crying hysterically
Nothing but tears watching this. Had to keep pausing video to wipe tears so I could see it. Fight on boys. Prayers for all those on that bus and their families.
For the haters who say why they put nhl on espn its not the fact of covering a hockey game its showing respect to 16 people who died doing what they loved to do now thats a story i think espn needs to cover more sports other then nba and some other not so great sports in off season
R.I.P. Feel bad for the family and friends and the fans. Some of these boys could have been kids favourite players and teammates best friends. Rest in peace.
INCREDIBLY ELOQUENT AND BEAUTIFUL explanation of what life is like there. God bless all who are suffering. The will and the strength of these people is absolutely incredible.
makeouthill that’s why you play the game. Nobody is going to hold it against the opposing team for trying to win. Humboldt will win their fair share of games in the future.
Not surprising since they have a completely new team except for two players. The other team would have several players returning from last season when they won the league championship.
Very sad to see this is the hardest video I've ever watched condolences to those families that lost a son n condolences to the families of the coaching staff lost n the bus driver's family
I remember when everything happened. We were just about to cross the border of BC to Alberta to go back home to Saskatchewan and it was blizzarding out and i was laying in the back seat of the truck while my mom read it out loud to everyone from facebook and I remember seeing everyones snap stories announcing how many people died.
Am a long time Pittsburgh penguin fan from pa since 89. I have a sticker on my cell to remember your team. My heart goes out to your Broncos and the Russian team that passed too. To all sport fans it's only game we talk crap on EACH other but remember we are all humans and need to help each period.... Love
2:00 maybe they won or not, but I know that if I was the opposing team, it would be absolutely wild to fight your hardest just to beat them, knowing their trying to represent the 16 lives lost. I know the Broncos wouldn’t want an easy win but that would have been heart shattering otherwise.
Canadians all over Canada put hockey sticks out on their front steps to honor the kids. Only 2 from that Broncos team were able to return to the team the next yr. One of the young players that was paralyzed became a sledge hockey player because he didn't want to give up on the game. A stupid accident because a semi truck ran a stop sign on the highway. I don't know if anyone in Canada didn't have a tear when they heard about the accident that night. The players in all of the NHL honored those lost and those permanently injured.
Man that postgame ceremony was heavy. God bless Humboldt

Such a strong group of kids. No one should have to go through what they did, ever.
