I looked at it yesterday, comparing bundle prices, and AC seemed on par until I realized the boosters were half the size. Definitely picking up singles, but not considering any sealed. Also has me worried for the upcoming Final Fantasy set, because I'm a huge FF fan 😢
I don't feel the same hype everyone seems to have for Bloomburrow, but Duskmourn... Don't let me down, WotC (though I know you will)
Well, Final Fantasy is a full set like the LotR one IIRC. So it should be okay
I'm strongly considering buying the starter kit. The bundle I'm up in the air on. I might spend a bundle's worth of money on ACR singles instead.

@@bryceduyvewaardt8136 Some sets do. I pre-ordered it because, as an Assassin's Creed fan, I want to get it asap. Sometimes it takes months for restocks as well.

Do agree it's too expensive but still buying a Bundle and a collector booster because I love Assassin's Creed. More like a collector thing
Just should’ve made two 60 or 100 card precons imo. Templars vs Assassins.
Though one of the good things about last “Aftermath” type set is that only one card is above $20. Rest are under $10 or pennies.
I think the issue with that is that it restricts the cards to basically two archetypes (with a little flavor of some side mechanics) or it becomes a jumbled mess of mechanics that don't sync well.
I'd rather they just made a full set, and stop this dumb "7 card booster" stuff

Starting set seems reasonably priced. Probably going to make more sense buying singles for a commander deck, or a few commons.
The collector booster sat for $220 before Monday. You could’ve also got 10% off most sites. I have three boxes coming at around 213 a collector. once the allocations were given out to the stores the price skyrocketed. Then everybody was buying up boxes off the Internet that were less than 250.
WotC need to be punished for thinking they can get away with this again. Unless we utterly tank their profits on their set by not buying *any* sealed product, we will just be making it more likely that epilogue/beyond boosters will become more and more pushed on us.
Skipping this one, except the Da Vinci secret lair. Bloomburrow isn’t far anyway.
I remember when Wotc said they regretted MoM epilogue and would not repeat their mistake…at least with their own IP. Turn time forward and Universes Beyond can hopefully sell this atrocity of “new boosters”.
All valid points... but, it's a universes beyond. Don't under estimate the future price movements for investors. Fallout is over $600 a collector and it only came out a few months ago.
...except Fallout had an extremely short-print run...

Just So you guys know I did t he math for Aftermath it was cheaper to buy one of every card in set then buying a Box lmao
There are definitely some nice reprints in there to try and convince people to buy packs. I think I might grab the starter kit, then I've got my eye on maybe 5 or 6 singles to grab down the line.
Why would I care if I’m getting 300 less bulk cards? There are ~12ish less rares give or take for 20$ less. Which still isn’t the best value. But also there are a lot of good reprints with a low card list leading to a better chance at hits. Like dude I don’t need 250+ worthless commons that will rot in a box in my closet
Also price per card is a terrible metric 😂. You should take price per rare and price per uncommon then calculate the average price for each sets rares and uncommons; THEN compare the price per card to the avg price per card. Not saying you’re wrong about the set being lower value but stop spreading clickbait fallacies with no grounds lol
Okay, set has released now. The most expensive card is $22 currently, and there are 5 more over $10. Which is roughly the same as OTJ. Meanwhile, MH3 has 8 cards that are $20+ and 20 that are over $10. Instead of getting worthless commons, you are getting worthless uncommons at least!

Depending on how the set sells could determine if this is just the first or last "beyond" booster.
Think they said it was one and done they were to far along to change it they should have just made it 2 or 3 commander decks
its because this was meant to be for the non-competitive commander players and not modern. Because commander players don't care about price 80% of the time, and they only make money off modern players with remasters and Horizon sets. if anything this set feels like they made it to fill a quota that was mehhh....
Isn't Modern Horizons the same price as Commander sets? I feel like that shows Modern players care the same about cost. Especially given how well the LotR set (also modern legal) sold

Yeah this is set to avoid
So many wrong Things you have not considered. For exmple the boosters are smalltalk yes, they are cheaper yes BUT you don't get commons in the boosters. Only Mythic, Rare, uncommons, a Land card and a token/Antwort card. So WhatsApp the Problem? Also Outlaws Collector booster don't have serialized cards, so you cant compare them. The Set has 100 cards and you get over 160 cards from 1 booster Box. No Problem for me PLUS you have to mention assasins creed is a Universen beyond Set so the price is normally higher than normal Sets.

Aftermath (MAT) was similar though and often there were multiple copies of uncommons in the same pack. Sometimes it was multiple treatments, but other times, it was the same copy and treatment.
Set will tank hard
Bloom Blah blah blah ill hard pass and Assas Creed is a hard pass.
