    You must have done an amazing silicone job on the roof!!!🌧️💦
    You’re pretty clever 😉 I think what you are both doing is fabulous. Way more interesting than watching new caravans which are all very similar. I love seeing what you are doing and I’m sure you are inspiring a whole new group of people to follow in your footsteps! I’ve watched you from the start and I hope you gain a lot of new subscribers😀😉🥰

    Really enjoying your Reno, love DIY. Put an access door in my van when it was 8 weeks old, nervous Nelly I was 😂. It all worked good , but you showed something I wished I thought of and that was using the staples. Tucked that away 😊. Look forward to seeing the journey

    Working in QLD work boots.....wow what a lot of work but looking forward to seeing the end product.
    Question, if I can please: Doing the big lap, are you restricted to an off road van or do you think you can get away with a good on road van and then just explore in the ute when you get a base.?

    • @nowornever_aus
      @nowornever_aus  Год назад +1

      No it definitely doesn’t restrict you!! I’m a firm believer that you can tow almost any caravan to any of the popular “off road” destinations, only difference is more chance of components rattling loose without off-road suspension

    Hi Guys….. I noticed that you used structural Ply and not marine ply to fix the floor, is there any reason for this as I thought marine ply would be the go.
    also, I noticed you didn’t insulate behind the bed, any reason for that as well.
    Many thanks guys and good effort
    Peter

    • @nowornever_aus
      @nowornever_aus  Год назад +1

      Hey Peter!
      Just keeping the floor the same as what is already there, and as for the insulation I just wasn’t too worried about the small amount of foam “insulation” that low in the van wall 👍🏼

    Mate, you're doing a GREAT job on this new van. It's going to be a beast. 🙂 So tell me, did you end up getting any leaks? ☔

  • @davidmilledge221
    @davidmilledge221 Год назад +1

    Cedar is a water proof timber but is only a light soft timber and expensive now , but also moths and silver fish don't like it , that's why old cuboards and dressers made 100 years ago had cedar in them draws they new the stuff back then , amazing how's its all forgotten now and we rely on sprays and chemicals 😢

    Going as far as you are, what is your plan with the plumbing? As a plumber/ gas fitter myself that works on a LOT of caravans, all I see is leaks from JG fittings due to over pressure, we have been getting a lot of interest in full JG (push fit) to Auspex (crimp system) replacement.
    Also on the pressure side of things, remove the Pressure Limiting Valve (if one is installed) and replace with a Pressure Reducing Valve, PRV will limit static pressure where the PLV does not, protect your system.

    • @nowornever_aus
      @nowornever_aus  Год назад

      Majority of the plumbing will be staying the same as it’s all there already set up with jg fittings, I’ll definitely keep an eye on it all though for leaks. Cheers mate!

    • @suthomate287
      @suthomate287 Год назад

      Ok, well I highly suggest installing a PRV to the mains water inlet, set the pressure to 350kpa, easy enough to do with a pressure gauge, that will protect your system, I am in Boonah and our local caravan park has 900kpa water pressure being delivered to vans, you can imagine the leaks I go too.

    • @nowornever_aus
      @nowornever_aus  Год назад

      Thanks! I’ll definitely look into

      Great info for the caravan water pressure, I had JG pipes burst on my van , fortunately underneath , had to replace all pipes throughout, but I have put a pressure reducing valve on, @ SuthoMate where are they available around Brisbane. Any particular one you recommend? Thank you . Cheers
