Awesome video!!! Something that may be interesting to try next time (to see if it will also make the process shorter) could be generating the vocals in Synthesizer V
Good idea but even I have my limits on AI. I prefer to sing myself even if it's not outstanding vocals. If I do Synthesizer I'd have to write out the correct notes based on the lyrics. That's not something I want to take the time to do. Plus over the years I rarely sing a song the exact same way twice. However it is a viable option.
That was cool to see it done in real time! I didn't know you could ask ChatGPT to write a song much less so easily copy & paste it int BB. Great job on the final song!!
Henry,I did something very similar for my granddaughter who likes to ride her horse & lives in the country- told chat GPT the key, that it should be uplifting , intro, v, c,pre, etc I wanted chords and lyrics and it really was quite good, not great but with some work turned out very nice. As usual, good work Henry
That's great Henry!! I always do my vocals in ProTools - at the end of the session. By the way, the display for once is not blurry. A nice sharp image.
This is really cool Henry! Good job! I've been messing around with BIAB and chatGPT for a few months now and you're right about it being an amazing tool for creating music together.
Very well done. Now it would be a good idea to spice up the vocal track with AI support. I can sing a little, but it's not enough for an acceptable vocal track. So you could, for example, use the free softwar REPLAY to create a voiceover and bring the singing to a higher level.
Yea. Probably a couple of tools but I already struggle a little because I don't want to be ALL AI !! I still want to leave some room for my own interpretation. That's why I didn't use the AI melody but made my own.
@@henryclarke5407 I’m with you about the overuse of AI. But you are a formidable singer, so there is no need to use AI and autotune. However, for someone who is a decent musician but can't sing that well, these tools are very interesting. So you can sing the melody yourself, but then let it run through the “voicover machine”. This way you could really produce a presentable product in 24 hours. Whether anyone wants to hear it because the entire market is flooded with AI titles is another question. In any case, the combination of band in a box and AI tools is a very helpful thing. Thank you for your inspiring videos!
@@ErichKerzendorfer You're welcome. I agree that it's great to hear your song vocally with a voice that is just flat out great. Give you confidence in moving forward. One thing I have noticed in the AI songs I've generated is that the male vocals sound a lot alike. Still good but in my opinion not different. Still they work great though 🙂
When you brought it into your DAW in band lab is that a separate DAW from cakewalk which is also being hosted by band lab that we don’t know for how long?
Thank for the tutorial great job, I have a question when you copied the song into band in a box you write clicked and pasted what you got from ChatGPT however, when I tried to do this I clicked and tried to paste unfortunately it did not work. I don’t see the little pop up window you have on your screen. Any suggestions?
UPDATE: from Chapter 6: "Type chords in a text file using a vertical line for a bar line. If you want a blank bar, leave a space or type a % sign between vertical lines. For example, you can type | D | G7 | | F | or | D | G7 | % | F |. " Also, Paste Special opens the box.
What do you think of Udio and Suno AI. you can also put your own music into them? Some lawyers are saying you don't retain copyright. I'd love to get your spin on them
I did try Suno by putting the lyrics to one of my own songs into it and the results were FANTASTIC !! However, I was left feeling that it wasn't me so I decided to move on. I think they're fine if you just want something to listen to but from my perspective I need to have a significant part of the song or I don't want to play. The song in the video .. even thought the backing chords were AI generated the inclusion of the touches (guitar, organ, oohs, aahs, etc..) were my idea so I had some input. The vocal melody, the background arrangement, etc. were all me. NOT AI. If I wanted to I could have generated the entire song in say SUNO or something but in my opinion that's no fun. As far as copyright I have also studied a bit and as I understand it you cannot copyright a song written by a machine. Thus no copyright and for profit no royalties. I think that AI music will continue to evolve and the copyright laws will catch up but in the interim anyone producing and releasing AI music will probably not garner any revenue and if they rise to the top will come under intense scrutiny with the potential of losing any revenue they may have obtained.
@@henryclarke5407 Amen to that. I agree. If band in the box included mastering and mixing software and a few more styles though then we would be talking.
@@wiltaylor I think that even if they have mastering and mixing software it wouldn't make a lot of difference because they need to really improve how you can record vocals. For someone like me that's the key and is why I continue to use Bandlab when it comes to vocals.
