The new gauge cluster looks nice. Thanks for showing that with a little patience, anyone can do a professional looking removal/install of this type of upgrade. I may have missed it in the video, but are you using the same size socket on all of the "screws"?
The high country cluster lights are really no different than the cluster lights used on other trims. The only difference is the digital screen is larger.
I’m not sure if it will work at all or not. I don’t have any information on places to reprogram it. I bought mine from infotainment.com and they do programming when items are purchased. I’m not sure if they take in pre-purchased items and program them or not, but you could check with them and ask.
I believe that plug is for vehicles that have the front & rear park assist feature so that the sensors display on the cluster, but I’m not entirely sure if that is accurate. The install instructions for my truck did not include information on that plug.
It won’t be able to display any of the data from your truck’s computer system and sense all gauge data is transmitted electronically in modern vehicles, it may completely prevent the cluster from working at all.
I also have the rst and I just installed this cluster but I doesn’t show my mileage on my truck and I tells me to service a bunch of things like front camera and a bunch of things high country has that rst doesn’t how can I fix this
Did you have the cluster programmed to your truck before doing the install? I ordered the cluster from a company that programs them to your vehicle’s specific VIN.
I bought it from infotainment.com. There is a link in the video description. I would assume the WT would work with it. It looks like the WT has the same gauge cluster as the other trim levels so it should just be plug and play. You can always email the infotainment.com support and ask just to be sure. I’m not sure what you mean by “flash it” but I personally didn’t have to do anything other than provide my truck info to the company when I ordered it. They programmed the gauge cluster for my truck’s specific VIN so all I had to do was plug it in when I got it.
I just found out that the WT does not have the control buttons in the right side of the steering wheel and those are required for the updated gauge cluster. I apologize.
This was a very cool video. How much was the cluster? Did you return back your old one? And did they have to program it for your truck specifically? Or it was. Off the shelf?
The cluster was $1000. They do not require the old one to be sent back so I kept it for now. I may try to sell it on eBay or something later to try and make back some of the cost. When you place the order with the company (link in video description), you provide them with your VIN and they program it for your vehicle before shipping it to you.
When I got mine hooked up it comes with with service front camera, service axel and all sorts of other things every time I start it. Is there a way to get that turned off?
I never had any messages like that so unfortunately I’m not sure what to do about it. You could try emailing the company you ordered the cluster from and see if they can tell you why those messages are popping up.
There is an option in the display’s settings to turn the speed limit indicator on or off. I did notice that the speed limit indicator does not always register a road’s speed. It works best on larger roads, but is hit and miss on smaller ones, as far as even displaying a speed at all. I actually turned it off about week or so later because I just didn’t really feel like I got any kind of benefit out of having it on.
They do need programming. They have to be programmed for your vehicle’s vin. That’s why I ordered mine from infotainment.com (linked in the video description). They program the clusters before shipping them out.
I have watched several of these Cluster Videos, might I suggest turning the engine on, placing the truck in Drive - Low Gear, then shut the engine off with Gear Selector down, give yourself more room to work.
The gear selector wasn’t really in the way. The main problem was the glass/plastic and the cluster bezel not coming all the way out because it is attached to the rubber that goes around the steering the column. If I could have gotten that bezel piece all of the way out I would have had plenty of room.
Very nice upgrade 👍 now you have me thinking of getting that first piece you clipped off that sits on top of the dash from a ltz so it's leather wrapped.
I’ve thought about swapping out that piece as well but haven’t made a final decision yet. It would probably be one of the least costly and time consuming changes for my truck. 😂

I have a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Custom and WAMS just launched a new cluster for it. Their description says setup procedure done by a GM dealership or shop with access to GM Techline Connect. Apparently they have to program it. I called 4 dealerships and no one will touch it. What are your thoughts? Thank you in advance.
It’s going to be very difficult to find a dealership that will program an aftermarket cluster for you. Most dealerships will pretty much refuse to hook anything up to the computer that is not a GM approved part. GM dealerships have even refused to reprogram official GM clusters that people have bought online to swap into their vehicles. I got lucky and was able to purchase my gauge cluster from a company that does all of the programming themselves. Your best bet is going to be looking online for 3rd party companies that offer automotive programming services.

I bought a 2019 2500HD work truck. The inside is basic. You have like a rectangle screen while mine has a square or portrait looking screen. Would buying an upgraded cluster or upgraded steering wheel with the radio buttons work or it wouldn't be compatible?
The upgraded gauge cluster doesn’t work with the steering wheel in the Work Truck trim. You would have to upgrade your steering wheel to one that has the steering wheel controls on both sides and make sure they are wired up properly so the controls work. I don’t know anything about upgrading the steering wheels, though so I can’t really make a recommendation on whether or not you should do it or if the upgraded steering wheel would even work.

No. When buying a new gauge cluster it has to be programmed to your vehicles VIN. Any company that you buy a new one from should program it before shipping. If you buy a used one, you will have to have it reprogrammed. As long as you make sure the gauge cluster is programmed to your vehicle’s VIN, you shouldn’t have any issues.
I can't confirm 100%, but it should. This interior for the 2022-2023 Custom trim trucks is the same as the 2019-2021 trucks so you should be able to use a gauge cluster from a 2019-2022 Silverado High Country.
My dealer told me that my cluster is causing multiple codes to pop up. Have you had your truck at the dealer for anything and did they mention that to you?
I haven’t had any issues with the cluster. My truck has been in for a check engine light in a couple of occasions, but those didn’t have anything to do with the cluster. One code was for the transmission wiring harness and one code was for the fuel sending wiring harness. They both had shorts and had to be replaced. Please someone who can help me configure it, thank you
I thought about that also, but it probably won’t fit on anything before 2022. I’m pretty sure the clusters themselves and the mounting areas are shaped different between the vehicles.
@@SouthpawGarage I was looking at some videos and the dash in front of you more or less looks the same. The infotainment in the middle of the truck definitely is different though.
When ordering the cluster, you will need to provide the company with your VIN so they can program the cluster for your vehicle’s onboard computer system. That will allow the cluster to pull over your mileage. You will also want to add a note in your order telling the company what your engine hours are if you don’t want those to show up as zero when you first install the new cluster. Your fuel economy calculator will be reset, but that’s not a big deal. I was mainly upset about losing my fuel economy calculations because I had gotten my truck up to 30mpg on the way back from vacation last year so I always felt good seeing that number listed for my max fuel economy. Lol

The description says the steering wheel must have the right side controls. The custom has the WT wheel with no right side controls so it will not work on a WT trim.
I’m not sure. It’s hard to tell if the new gauge clusters are the same shape as the 2019-2021 versions. I also don’t have any way to know if the wire harness is the same or if GM changed it which would make it incompatible with previous year models.
@@harveylemmer9930 quick question, I got a denali cluster and was planning to send it to WAMs but they no longer program used clusters. As it was already programmed for a silverado, could I just take it to the dealer and have them program it to my Vin (the only difference?)

The company that I ordered the cluster from does the programming. You send them your VIN when you place an order and they get the cluster programmed so that it’s just plug-n-play when you receive it.
Was the dash reprogrammed for your vehicle before installation? The language settings for your truck are managed from the infotainment screen in the center stack. You could try adjusting the language settings through the infotainment screen and see if that fixes the dash, but if it wasn’t programmed to your VIN, idk if it will help.
I don’t have a Pulsar LT so I can’t verify, but it should. There’s no reason why it wouldn’t because the gauge cluster is programmed to the truck’s VIN in order to connect to the ECU which is what the Pulsar connects to as well.
It will not work in the refreshed Silverados with the updated interior and full digital dash. If your truck has the dash with analog gauges, it should work.
I appreciate your video. I considered this on my custom, but am reconsidering after thinking about pulling the dash out of my truck just so my guages are digital! Haha

With recording the video it took about 2 hours. Probably could do it in about half the time or even less if I wasn’t doing the video and explaining it along the way. Really the longest part was taking the screws out of the bottom of the cluster frame/cover piece because they aren’t the easiest to get to.
No. This is the gauge cluster only. There is no place on a Silverado for a HUD screen to be added if it doesn’t already have it from the factory. To add OEM HUD, you would either have to cut a hole in the top of your dash for the display or completely replace the entire top of your dash with a dash that came out of a truck with HUD. You would also have to add the HUD switches to the left of the steering column which would include more cutting or replacing of parts. To get HUD without having to cut or replace your entire dash, you will have to look at aftermarket options that are made to sit on top of the dash you already have.

Does the new cluster get programmed to the current mileage from the old cluster?
Lol
@@SouthpawGarage sucks to lose the MPG estimator, but I think I can live without it. I put a 4inch lift on with 35s so gas went out the window for me lol. I appreciate the response. Hard to get many RUclipsrs to respond. I appreciate it. Subscribed.
I always try to answer questions when I can, although I don’t always have the answer. I appreciate you subscribing!
And just to be clear, you don’t completely lose the MPG estimator. It just starts over from scratch when you switch the gauge cluster.
@@SouthpawGarage gotcha. Thank you again. 🤙
Is that a gm made cluster? Or is it after market?
That is the official GM cluster for the Silverado High Country.
Nice job will it work on a 2020 custom??
It definitely should. The Custom gauge cluster should use the same connector as the other Silverados.
@@SouthpawGarage thanks
The description says the steering wheel must have the right side controls. The custom has the WT wheel with no right side controls so it will not work on a WT trim.
Thank you for that information. I did not realize the steering wheels were different. I appreciate the helpful response!
Same process for the WT model?
I’m not sure about the WT. The lowest trim that I have confirmation of for the cluster swap process is Custom.
is it possible to install 22 digital clusters on tahoe 2021 boring cluster
I’m not sure. It’s hard to tell if the new gauge clusters are the same shape as the 2019-2021 versions. I also don’t have any way to know if the wire harness is the same or if GM changed it which would make it incompatible with previous year models.
Sadly it isn’t (gm tech here), due to the 2022 using a Google software vs the 2021 that uses gm’s own proprietary system
@@harveylemmer9930 quick question, I got a denali cluster and was planning to send it to WAMs but they no longer program used clusters. As it was already programmed for a silverado, could I just take it to the dealer and have them program it to my Vin (the only difference?)
@@harveylemmer9930 Being a GM Tech, do you know if a 2020 SIlverado HD Hood will fit on a 2019 Silverado 1500? I love the look of the HD hood and would like to verify fitment before investing in one.
How much was the new digital cluster?
$1000 from infotainment.com.
Did you have to program anything ?
The company that I ordered the cluster from does the programming. You send them your VIN when you place an order and they get the cluster programmed so that it’s just plug-n-play when you receive it.
How much was it?where can i get one
Link is in the video description
Mine is stuck in spanish how do I change the language
Was the dash reprogrammed for your vehicle before installation? The language settings for your truck are managed from the infotainment screen in the center stack. You could try adjusting the language settings through the infotainment screen and see if that fixes the dash, but if it wasn’t programmed to your VIN, idk if it will help.
@SouthpawGarage I'm not sure, it's just the cluster gauge and not the stereo
If the gauge cluster wasn’t programmed for your truck, that may be the issue.
did you get rid of that LT cluster?
I have it listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace: facebook.com/marketplace/item/1017511415497539/
Does it work with a Pulsar LT?
I don’t have a Pulsar LT so I can’t verify, but it should. There’s no reason why it wouldn’t because the gauge cluster is programmed to the truck’s VIN in order to connect to the ECU which is what the Pulsar connects to as well.
What i learned from this is that I have a hidden pistol sized cavity within arms reach that can be popped off on the fly. Beautiful
😂😂
Will this work in a 2022 chevy silverado
It will not work in the refreshed Silverados with the updated interior and full digital dash. If your truck has the dash with analog gauges, it should work.
I appreciate your video. I considered this on my custom, but am reconsidering after thinking about pulling the dash out of my truck just so my guages are digital! Haha
I’m glad you liked the video. The switch isn’t as bad as it looks as long as you know the steps. Lol
Do you recommend it ???
Absolutely! As always, it would be nice if the upgrade wasn’t quite so highly priced, but it definitely gives a more modern and futuristic feel to the current Silverado. I love seeing the larger digital display and new digital gauges.
Again I’m spoiled. My 2020 GMC 2500 Denali came with this factory.
I am super happy with my RST. I prefer it over all the chrome on the Denali’s and High Countries. Unfortunately that meant sacrificing some tech features. I’m just glad I’ve been able to add them myself over time so I could get the best of both world for myself. 😎
@@SouthpawGarage I couldn’t agree with you more on the chrome. I have had the truck three weeks and can’t wait for the weather to warm up to wrap as much chrome as possible.
Sad, looks really great wish I could do it on my 2020 2500 Custom. unfortunately don't have the buttons on the right side of my steering wheel that would control the cluster itself. never ending battle looking for a replacement cluster
just get a new steering wheel with the buttons.
Hey man i just ordered and new steering wheel to go in my 21 Silverado custom so the cluster can work here’s the link it’s around $200 www.ebay.com/itm/2019-Silverado1500-Heated-Steering-Wheel-Assembly-in-Atmosphere-Leather-84755548-/224427376132?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&fbclid=IwAR0ooWFQzdlLoX2phcOuBdvBQ9CTxqn4f64cyKFL_Oi8Sudeq5WR2dZGwA4
Will this work on a 2019 trail boss ?
It should work on any 2019 Silverado truck other than the LD (previous generation body style). Infotainment.com (the company I ordered it from) should be able to tell you if your truck is compatible if you want to check and be 100% sure
I have 2023 is not working
This video is for 2019-2021. That’s listed in the title. 2022 and newer trucks have a completely different system.
infotaiment program the cluster ?
Yep. They programmed it when I ordered it and provided my truck’s information.
How long did it take you think?
With recording the video it took about 2 hours. Probably could do it in about half the time or even less if I wasn’t doing the video and explaining it along the way.
Really the longest part was taking the screws out of the bottom of the cluster frame/cover piece because they aren’t the easiest to get to.
Excuse me friend I changed the cluster to my silverado 3500hd dieses and you didn't tell me how many miles the truck has
Um what? I have no idea what you’re talking about.
I have the same problem
Can u tell me how do u fix it ?
Does this upgrade give you the HUD?
No, separate upgrade. Requires some cutting on the interior. Very $$$$$
