Excellent presentation. Good audio. Lighting and resolution made it possible to see details in an otherwise darkened environment. Thoughtful work. Thank you.
Thank you very much for your well done video. Clear instruction. Very precise. I am going to replace my 1999 Accord soon. This video is very helpful. Thanks again.
Thank you very much, Sir-I would have been frustrated by the bottom bolt if not for your kind efforts. BTW, I did not have to remove the temp sensor connector, it had plenty of slack to move the thermostat housing without stressing the connector.
It was probably a no brainer and I probably should have already assumed but maybe say drain the coolant before taking the hose off I successfully replaced my fan switch and thermostat but now I have a driveway covered in coolant yay
Thanks again. I am a newbie. I am afraid to over tighten the bolts. But I do not want any leak either. Any suggestions? Is it possible to get a gasket for the housing?
nukem384 Thanks for your quick reply. That helps. I was trying to find the PSI needed for tightening the two bolts. I also have two other simple questions. First, do you unfasten or remove the battery? Second, do you take the big air intake (hose?) out to give you more room? I have bought the thermostat and am waiting for the weather to warm up a little. Then i will use your video as a guide to replace my 1999 Accord LX 4 cylinder Automatic. You have been very helpful. Really appreciate.
Yes, most of the coolant is going to come out anyway if you don't drain. You can figure this out by doing a couple things. Let the car idle for like 20 mins and the fans should come on by then, if they don't, that's probably your problem. You can also see if the thermo is stuck closed by driving the car around for like 5 mins, and if the water needle shoots up really quick, then you know the thermo is stuck closed and that needs to be replaced.
@@2001browser I would test the fan out first, that sounds like the more likely problem. It could also be a stuck open thermo, but if that was the case, the car wouldn't overheat, it'd just take forever for the coolant to get to optimal temp.
Good looks, my thermo just went out. I called a Honda Dealership - $139 installed,
another shop - $100. Me, Autozone, and this video - $20. Thnx!
good video man short and no back story thanks

real good. replacing mine this week. thanks for the help!
What's your address? I sent you a new pair of gloves....
Great video thanks bro
Before installing a new thermostat don't u have to drain all the coolant??
Besides the thermostat is there a gasket that you have to put on when installing this new thermostat?
Wat tools did you use? Measurements and all
You don’t need to drain the rad fluid and you don’t have to take off that hose. I didn’t do it and it’s fine🤷🏽♂️

Haha, live and learn. At least you got the job done, so it wasn't for nothing.
thank you kindly.
No problem!

the rubber piece around the thermo is like a gasket.

thanks so much
Glad it helped
did you reuse the gasket?
are you talking about around the thermostat? definitely not. the new thermostat you buy should have a new gasket
What size socket to get bolts off? Also thanks for this!!!
Either a 12mm or 14mm. If you have a normal socket wrench set, you'll have the socket you need
It's a 10mm socket
Did you have to replace coolant.? Mones keeps getting hot. I dont know if it's the thermo or a fan.!?

@@nukem384 it doesn't shoot up quick but it does after 10+ mins on the drive.thank you for the Info.🙇♂️

@@nukem384 one does when turn on ac,the other doesnt. So I dont know what to do..
@@2001browser There's 2 different fans, one for the AC condenser and one for the radiator. Sounds like the fan is the issue. Replace the radiator fan.
Is there video on WHERE the thermostat is? 🤨💟💟💟💟
Just follow the upper radiator hose to the thermostat housing? It's under where your intake tube is.
I didn't drain my coolant and only lost a little bit. So.....we'll find out.
thanks for not making us watch the whole process!
Glad it helped!
I found three bolts. I couldn't get the housing cover off and then I figure out there was another bolt all the way underneath.
