Supernatural was a good show, but Jensen and Jared were the heart and soul of the show and there was no chance in hell any spin off could work without them
Why do I feel like it was a literal Sam and Dean moment? Seriously...Sam finding out about something Dean did or vice versa, just to have them work it out in the end. The two are literally like brothers in real life and I love it.
True. In the show they always took issue with one hiding something from the other and the other one finding out from a demon “huh didn’t sam/dean tell you what he did? Interesting” then they seperate their ways for one episode but have to get back together because Bobby found about something related to main storyline which is bigger than them.
@@olafnilsen1641 naah, Dean and Sam were able to share their feelings, even though Dean had a wall of fake masculinity, which was mocked many times in SPN
This is why jared and jensen are such quality men they understand each other and that they would never hurt the other on purpose. Great guys . Great family's. Love you all.
@@donmab I'm pretty sure jared was just joking about his feelings being hurt. Or they twisted how he phrase or meant it. Like maybe he was disappointed he hadnt heard the news yet. That's is exactly what I meant they are usually not the type to jump to conclusion and dramatize everything.
Jared always seemed, to me, like a legit little brother to Jensen and slightly more sensitive and open emotionally so I was not surprised that he was hurt but I also get Jensen's side because in what little I have done in the industry you do wait until the chips are down to show your cards. In honesty I blame those who just decided to share the news without really consulting anyone so that they would be able to get their ducks in a row first... it's sort of like the new Spiderman movie how there were sudden leaks and Andrew Garfield was bombarded and had to go on the defensive all because someone put something out there that shouldnt have gone out yet.
Jared overreacted. He was a fictionnal brother, per contract. Jensen understands his moodswings, but come on ! No, you don't tell anyone before you close a deal, not even after if it's in your contract.
The dudes are real life brothers. You can’t convince otherwise. It’s awesome to hear Jensen talk about this with such care for his projects and the people around him “at least they’re talking”
I feel like their babies call them Uncle Jared and Uncle Jensen it just feels like something that I feel I call people who are best friends to my mom and grandma aunts too so it's not uncommon
As much as I don’t doubt Jensen and Danneel and their talent, I’m sure that the prequel will be amazing when we finally get to see it… But I’m not too sure on the premise of it, Supernatural kinda ruined the character of Mary for me towards the end that I don’t think I care enough about the character to see her back story! I think it honestly would be better to see Sam and Dean as teens as they are the characters that made me as a viewed invested in the show.
I think it was the fact that he didn't phone Jared before telling the public. Jared found out at the same time as everyone else and in the same way too. Jensen could have phoned him before posting about it on social media.
@@kiamercury7639 I saw the video I know. But I also know how time gets away from you, working, having to make statements and then having to make sure everyone in the loop knows before articles are.written and released. Its alot
@@kiamercury7639 You say this, but the truth is, not at all. Sure, Jared didn't know. But his first reaction was to tweet out. Why didn't he wait after he sent the message to Jensen? He needed validation. And to be fair, it's no one's job to give a grown ass man the validation he seeks. He rushed to his fans, cause fans - including myself - have the tendency to follow and listen. In any scenario, Jared was the one who made a mistake. Even in the crazy one, where they wouldn't tell him, because they didn't want him to know - he should've congratulated his so called best friend and offer his support - the way Jensen did so many times in the past, including certain put incident.
@@Gemenice "Why didn't he wait after he sent the message to Jensen?" He did wait for hours according to Jensen. And it was hours after the initial press release (as Jared waited for a response from Jensen) before Jared tweeted his disappointment. He was publically embarrassed by Jensen's press release when fans asked him what the hell that announcement meant. He didn't have an answer because he was never made aware that any such project even existed. And to top it off WB, the CW and Chaos made sure that the Deadline article was released moments before the new episode of Walker was set to air in order to maximize the SPN fans that would be online and/or watching the episode. Of course WB and the CW assumed that Jared was aware as did Kripke, Thompson and a host of other execs and producers. Imagine how humiliating that must have been for everyone.
@@Gemenice You're right. Jared is kind of dramatic. He knows he messed up otherwise he wouldn't have deleted his tweets later on. Jensen should have at least mentioned it to Jared though. Supernatural was a project for them both, not just Jensen.
I love the fact that they are able to accept when they make a mistake, own it and apologize... As well as being able to understand where the other is coiming from, such an amazing positive note

And, I'll keep an open mind on this prequel, but excited for him to go down this road in creating content. Branching out and trying new things.
yes, I'm so happy that they got over it! And it pains me to see the hatred online against one or both parties, misunderstandings happen, I just wish the people who're pitting them against each other would let go too
I absolutely read nothing about them, unless it comes from them! I get being a fan, I'm a huge fan. Everybody has a right to their own opinion but some really take it way to Far!
Yeah the main problem is Jared, period. Like how his wife and him promoted a random book the same day Misha came out with his, and how Jensen and Misha are always promoting each other, but not Jared. Plus Jared wasn't asked to be involved. I'm sure Jensen and Jared are cool even after Jared blasted him publicly on twitter, but Jared is a problem child.
Yeah the media and something fans are very toxic, you just have some people who like to blow things out of proportion especially if they don't like one or the other. But anyway Jensen is so hot, can't wait to see more of him on my screen.
Jensen's seemingly non-purposeful quick micro impression of Jared around 5:55 is SO GOOD. Like, you only get that from somebody who's spent a large portion of their life around each other. Like actual brothers.
I was a Production Assistant (P.A.) during Season 6 of SPN and a Lamp Operator for an episode in Season 11. Glad to hear the truth behind their little public spat over this incident. Both Jared & Jensen are great guys and it would have been horrible if something like this created a rift between them.
the rift is probably still there, but at least they handled it like adults. Plus Maybe Jared thought the prequel was actually about the brothers. But from reading the comments its not.
Love this interview so much. I’ve watched a lot of interviews with Jensen over the years (A LOT) and this is the most relaxed, forthcoming, and raw I’ve ever seen him. Thanks Michael, for the best hour I’ve spent in a very long time.
I adore Jensen, and I love the relationship he and Jared share. I love how accepting he was of his mistake, and it's obvious he didn't want to hurt Jpad. And I so wish I was that couch right now.
Jensen is an inspiration for how I want to look like in my 40s. I see so many people wither fast from not taking care of themselves and buddy looks like he's still filming Season 3 of SPN
Same here man… it’s been a minute since I was on track with my self and health, but since I started watching Supernatural, Jensen has become my role model and idol. Proper inspiration for my future, alongside Warren Kole.

@@aelius93 Not all costars on long term shows are friends in real life, that’s true. The only two people who know what type of friendship they have are Jaren and Jensen themselves. Fans will see what they post on social media and just assume that they aren’t close and it’s annoying whenever fandoms CREATE drama and force the actors to speak about it. *ranting about other shows here in case you don’t want to read lmao* There would be nothing wrong with them not being close despite working together for a long time. An example of that is the main stars of the show Pretty Little Liars. Lucy Hale never seemed to be close friends with the other main girls. Fans picked up on it throughout the years (because of the other girls hanging out together often, attending Troian’s wedding while Lucy is with her friends somewhere else or doing some other project, etc) and Lucy (and the other girls) has had to address it many times. Basically what she said is that they just aren’t always going to hangout together and they have different interests and different lives, all of that. She didn’t need to address it either and neither did the other girls but fans were whining about it because they expect them to be best friends for life just like their FICTIONAL characters. Fans of any major show or film franchise always act dramatic and extreme when it comes to the actors and their personal lives. Don’t even get me started on the drama with the fans in regards to Nina Dobrev and her ex boyfriend and costar (and fictional love interest on The Vampire Diaries) and how far fans STILL go with that. They still harass Ian’s wife Nikki Reed and it resulted in Ian being negative and bitter about “Delena” in the later seasons of the show and he just wouldn’t promote it, spoke negatively about it, and that’s probably why Damon and Elena had such a lackluster reunion in the final episode and the characters of Elena and Damon didn’t even say a single line to each other, it was just a montage basically. Nina and Ian weren’t the problem, the fans were.
@La Jensen has his brewery plus the production company to get started, a role now and then to get money in and stay in touch with his acting career.Busy. So is Jared, but he bugled in camp supernatural followers that he was miffed. And although it's not the first time, I doubt it's the last. He knows his fans will react poorly and than Jensen has so far accepted his moodswings. Ex coworkers and friends yes, ideal brothers they are not.And if the community can't get it, they'll soon be ex-coworkers
I’m glad everything worked out in the end. I have to wonder if these little kind of things are what cause breakups in shows and bands. Something small growing into a much larger problem because egos get hurt or it doesn’t get resolved right away.
Yeah it starts like that. Ackles was completely wrong here. Yes he’s capitulating and giving excuses but you gotta wonder if there was a bigger reason why he didn’t tell the other guy aside from what he’s saying here. Perhaps they’re not that close.
@@rayleigh8 I can see why you would think that, and I can't speak on how well you know both of these men. However, for someone who has been watching both of them for years now, on and off the show, I can tell you that they are really that close. They are quite literally brothers and I have never seen or heard anything to prove that wrong. Yea they have fights and stuff like that but think about how many times you have had bad moments or spats with your own family. There was wrong done on both ends, they talked about it, they validated each other's feelings, and they moved past it.
@@rayleigh8 I actually had the exact gut reaction as you. There's clearly more to this story, but the little Jensen told makes him look awful. But if you consider there might have been a really good reason for not wanting to have Jared involved, maybe even a studio decision, then things get more complicated. Because how can you break that down to Jared? Almost an impossible task.
Jensen and Jared do not own the rights to SPN. Yes they are why many of us love the show but the rights belong with Eric & WB. If another production company (not Jensen's) came up with the idea J2 would not know about it either ( because they do not need to know) until the idea was approved to progress. If the production company was smart they would then clue the guys in as a curtesy before making a public statement - but if it is leaked before hand they would face the same scramble. The mistake by both guys was acknowledged by both of them and they moved on in the same day - it is fans and media that blew this up into a bigger deal than it needed to be.
@@thebeaverfamily1418. These fans probably already hated the other, and feel like now they have another reason to say why Jared or Jensen are bad people, and defend their favorite at all costs. So, if the J that they hate does something that was wrong in their eyes to their favorite, they’ll attack. Then, the fans of the other J will defend and attack those fans. Also add that they also saw the actions of one of the J as wrong, and it’s a whole shit show. At least, that’s what I got from experience.
I know they don't actually own the rights to spn. But everyone knows damn well that without them, any attempt to create a tv show or movie that has replaced these two as Sam and Dean will rain down armageddon. That's like giving Kim Jong Un access to the TSAR Bomba, how about you just fucking don't?
Let's hope his work on dark angel inspires him. James Cameron was onto something and pain in the ass that he is, there was flair in bringing Jensen back.

Same. I can get with Jensen, which is why, unlike some fans I wasn’t so shocked or offended that Jensen didn’t tell Jared. Some of the fans, even if they were rational, thought that Jensen was in the wrong. And, I respect that. But, personally, I wouldn’t be offended about it because I’m the same way. i love how these two have better communication than most people an i love that for them theyre some of my favorite actors, and the show shaped my entire childhood. im excited to see if this becomes a done deal.
Wow, I love how he validated Jared’s feelings. That’s such a healthy role-model of handling emotions for men. When I first heard of this, I was rather hurt for Jared. They were on-screen brothers for so long and this was a show about their ‘parents’. I thought it’d be more natural for Jensen to pitch the idea to Jared and do it together with both their ideas and perspectives. Or at least, if he wanted to do it by himself then tell Jared about it from the start. I did also feel however that Jared could have expressed his feelings in private rather than on Twitter. Anyway, now it makes sense. I can understand Jensen wanting to surprise Jared with the news instead of getting him excited before he could confirm it’d actually happen. That’s so sweet 😊
Easy to see why Supernatural was able to last so long. Yes, storyline exhaustion plays a big factor in longevity, but so is the mindset of co-leads. Jensen, and Jared appear to share a lot of mutual respect and that emotes through their roles.
Jensen will always hold a special place in my heart because he was on Days of Our Lives and I used to watch that show with my nana when I was little. She watched it from day 1 in 1965, decades before I was even born, until the day she died in 2015. I still remember his character Eric.
My brother was always more of the supernatural fan than i, but just from a relational standpoint I feel good about these two because he had the maturity to say both "man, wish he wouldn't have sent that text like that" but also acknowledge "man, I guess I could have told him of all people before I told the wider world even though my superstition is still valid"
I don't think very many of us truly wanted a prequel or spin off of Supernatural. We just wanted more Supernatural, and anything short of that, was just going to fall short.
Exactly! I heard more Supernatural got excited and read it was a prequel, not even accurate at all. With some dumb ass explanation to why John is a hunter before Mary dies.

Supernatural was awesome from season 1 until 5. After that it became okay. They should have ended it with Sam sacrificing himself and Dean having a life without Sam. Sam’s death would have had way more meaning. Instead they chose to “instantly revive” him and show him again….. in the same episode!!! Lucifer was, imo, the biggest evil they could come across.

I get why Jared impulsively did that and I am glad you guys worked it out I bet Jared needed that reassurance. It must be hard working together for so long and then not. I think it's impacted Jared more probably in wondering if they can maintain the friendship to the same level with their busy lives that are now pretty separate. I am glad they are managing to do that.
why does jared have to be a sensitive person or not confident in himself to send out that tweet. You don't know the man and last I checked, he was well within his rights to send out that tweet and feel a certain type of way! I mean anyone would've reacted the same way. @@mobprincessxoxo5758 To be honest…children act like that, IMO. Adults act professionally and take the conversation to a private space. Instead he vocally criticised his friend, got upset and just reacted without thinking. Lashing out on a public forum as a grown adult is not the mark of self confidence. Especially not with the amount of followers he has. All it did was exacerbate a situation and create a divide, when it could have been solved with a private text instead. He knew Jensen was working on The Boys at the time, and likely busy. They’ve known each other for 15 years or more, and he didn’t really give Jensen the benefit of the doubt, just started complaining loudly on social media and riling people up on both sides. I’m nowhere on his level, but I have my own moments; a simple flare of insecurity can cause more trouble than you anticipate. Like me, Jared is fortunate to have people in his life willing to take the time to step back and help him assess the situations as they arise. And to be honest, it was a moment for Jensen as well. Just proof that you don’t have to have any diagnosis to experience moments of poor decision.

Jensen handled that maturely he owned up to dropping the ball in not keeping Jared in the loop and didn't go in defense mood and try to put the blame on Jared for blasting him, (even though Jared shouldn't reached out privately but we've all been there). That's what we are missing today everyone wants to be the victim and not take responsibility for how they contribute to the problem.

I get that Jensen felt that he couldn't talk about it. However, if there was one person to bring on and/or discuss the project with, then I figured that it'd always be Jared.
Honestly, Jared should have been discussed with about anything involving Supernatural. He might be busy with Walker, but Jared put 15 seasons into Supernatural just like Jensen did.
@@Renagade2332 he should have. Get a very solid feeling that part of all this was they didn’t want Jared involved (the networks and what not) as he is the known problem child/diva. But the fact he didn’t say anything to Jared after things really started picking up and what not is likely because they studio and shit don’t want Jared involved in it.
Also I can definitely understand Jensen's POV of trying to keep it close to chest, especially considering this was his very first venture. Shit happens. I think he has an 'SPN universe' concept in mind, which would be really frickin awesome. There was still A HUGE amount of stories that could still be told in that universe. Monster of the Week episodes, stories of other hunters, Bobby, Jody, and more. Different characters, small number of episodes each season. I hope it gets to work.
I can see why Jared would be hurt; there's literally no way a person can't be hurt after being blindsided on the level he was over something that involved one of his closest friends and the thing he worked with for 15+ years. With that said, there's definitely more to this story; the studio, or Jensen, or both didn't want Jared involved with the prequel for whatever reason (good or bad). It's always complicated when you mix professional and personal relationships.
I agree. Can’t imagine how hurt Jared must have felt. I get the feeling they didn’t want him involved. In terms of characters, Sam would love to know the whole story of John and Mary and learn about what she was like and how she would have been as a mother when they were children.
exactly! jared was well within his rights to react the way that he did. it is a natural reaction. both he and jensen were a part of supernatural and for jensen to be a part of a prequal and for jared to NOT be included; yea.....that would hurt
Listen better folks. Jenson presented an IDEA for a prequel. He didn't tell anyone until it was approved by the studio. Jared didn't know that Jenson was coming up with this IDEA. I agree with what some people said here about the executives of whoever perhaps not wanting Jared involved. So I don't necessarily buy that Jensen "forgot" to tell Jared. That said, I agree with Jensen that Jared's tweet was probably "a step that could have been avoided". I also liked that (1) Jensen said Jared's feelings were valid and (2) he admitted that he should have told Jared about the prequel.
The execs I could get but I really don’t think Jensen would f over Jared like that. They really have been best friends for over 15 years now. In each other weddings. Uncle to each other kids. Imagine if Jared made a spn prequel and didn't include Jensen or even inform him, and then later lowkey shifting the blame to Jensen rather than taking accountability. Imagine the shitstorm?? No one would be on Jared's side if the situation was reversed. People have to accept that Jensen isn't perfect and this time, he was the problem, not Jared. And to everyone who blames Jared for tweeting about it publicly, well first of all he did try to call Jensen but he didn't answer. Second, he found out about it publicly, Kripke had tweeted about it and he was just responding to everyone who tagged him and asked him about it. And even if he wouldn't tweet about it that day, we would still find out that he wasn't involved eventually? People would've obviously asked him about it in interviews and cons and what would they expect him to do then, lie? Just so Jensen wouldn't look bad? That's my biggest issue. I know WAYYY TOO much about them to get behind the idea of a prequel. Look at Red Dead when they did their prequel. It worked because the original story only mentioned snippets of John's past with his gang, forsure never got hours of screentime following past events. With SPN.. They've given so much that there's next to nothing left to the imagination. Seriously throughout all of SPN's history.. no other hunters ever did anything worth following?.

This is the best news I have had since I watched them last in 2020. I am so excited. I'm sure Jensen will bring the spirit of SPN in the right way, back
Well he should have told him earlier in the process. It just sounds like Jensen wanted to do his own thing without Jared which maybe he is entitled to do. But since it's a supernatural prequel he should have at least told Jared about it.
Loved Supernatural and still do. Would have been awesome to have Dean and Sam as big brothers. Jensen and Jared always seemed so genuine playing family.
Being a fan of SPN since day one ( I am turning 31 this year), I watched alot of interviews, bloopers and stuff around J2. It was kinda verrry weird to me how the fans tried to created a even bigger problem because they thought Jensen was gonna leave Jared out and whatever instead of just letting them both get in touch and clear things out. It's like they wanted them both to fight each other in public, lol. "Great fans".... the fandom of SPN is truly one of the most toxic fanbases I've seen (Star Wars and a few others not to mention) and I am glad that I haven't got in touch with those people directly. Jensen in this interview is even more natural, you can tell right off the rip. I am glad that they have figured things out but I also get the feeling that this is probably gonna be around for a while. That "dumb feeling". it will wear off, though. The fans and the media made this to a very big problem, so I can see both sides. And I fully believe that Jensen would have told Jared asap if everything was a done deal and not just a "idea". If was in their place, I would have reacted the same way. But then again, the fans and the media turned this into a bigger mess than I needed to be. To end it on a more positive note, I am curious to see how the prequel is gonna turn out. It's cool that they really turned things around quickly without taking all the voices from the outside. They are both grown men, they worked with each other for roughly 15 years. Moral of the story: if you are not directly involved into somebodies business, then there is a reason why you are not in it and why you shouldn't be. Thanks for the video, Mr. Rosenbaum!
They both had a hand in involving the media and making it a public fight. Jared should have never posted what he did and Jensen should have included Jared in talks about the prequel, whether he's superstitious or not. At the very least, Jensen should have phoned Jared before posting about it online. I think we can all agree that it wasn't fair for Jared to find out at the same time as the public. To be honest, this whole situation could have easily been avoided and definitely didn't need to go on for as long as it did. I don't think you can blame the public for their reaction either. Everyone knows that social media is public and you take a chance of involving the public when you post anything online, especially if you're a celebrity. They seem to have worked out their differences though so hopefully we'll still get the prequel & the reunion season of Supernatural.
I don't so much think that it was a case that fans wanted them to fight it out, but I do agree that there is a small sub-section of the fandom that is toxic - no where near as toxic as some fandoms, the "Sam" vs. "Dean" fans that are so one sided in their devotion to one brother over the other that they project that onto the actors. And the "Sam" fans came out in force to protect Jared and to fight Jensen (on Sam's/Jared's behalf)... Shit got crazy a number of times on the chat boards when IMDB had them. 99% of the time things were amazing talking with other fans, but you always knew to watch your step because if you stepped on one of the vs. landmines in a topic thread, all hell would break loose. I also think that a good chunk of it was the media trying to play it up as if it caused a huge rift between the guys, thus adding fuel to the fire. With that being said, I do feel Jensen does shoulder more of the responsibility for it happening in the first place... a two min phone call to Jared at any point between them thinking about trying for the show and them figuring it may actually happen, just to let him know it could be a thing (screw superstition), would have kept the whole thing from happening. Jared got blindsided and he reacted, so yeah, there were some hurt feelings and the guys needed to have a conversation to work it out.
Not that I don’t understand what he’s saying, but he clued in Robbie Thompson and a bunch of other people close to supernatural or this project, I feel that Jared should have been involved right away.
Robbie Thompson was the showrunner for "The Winchesters," so of course he was clued in. Can't run a show (and be lead writer) if you don't know you're a part of the project. Jared wasn't involved for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is the fact he's busy producing 2 shows of his own (and starring in one of them).
Honestly, They both worked together for over a decade. If there was anyone you tell and make a partner or someone you confide in...... it should be your partner The man who you said grew with you on and off the screen. said with peace and love
Those are just things people say. Like when Kim catrall said working with the great SJP. Who even cares? Come to think of it, why am I even here? The last thing in the world I care about is some BS mainstream media show that didn't have the balls to make their subtext text in 2020. No offense. This is just ain't my bag.
In my opinion Jared should have been involved with the entire process of this idea. Casting, story, direction everything and who knows maybe he could have prevented failure.
I agree, always been baffled why it was a project with Daneel who had basically nothing to do with the show as opposed to working with any number of other people that had been part of SPN. What's done is done I suppose. Glad they are still buddies.
@@mrs_marvellous Exactly and ya know what you said here "Glad they are still buddies." is 100% right because that is way more valuable than a Super Failure Spin off.
honestly Jensen and Jared did a great job in supernatural, the show had it's ups and downs but i always enjoyed their characters and the enthusiasm they brought to their roles.
This makes me happy, especially considering how badly people reacted online. Tumblr lost their shit at Jared and were calling him a terrible person and a child and a bunch of other shit that came out of nowhere, as far as I could tell. I always figured the situation was messier/more than any of us would know, and it pissed me off so much how people instantly took sides and were throwing insults for being on the outside. It was so childish and unnecessary
The biggest problem want crossed communication; the biggest problem is social media engendering a need for instant information. Yes, we as humans can train ourselves not to react. We can also realize that we are human and don’t always have the best immediate reactions in situations. Jensen had pans in the fire and the heat flared up while his back was turned. He could have taken umbrage to Jared’s reaction. Jared could have gone on a rant rather than a quick tweet. Instead, Jensen utilized the moment to reset, touch base and clear up confusion and Jared listened. This is what I’ve always loved about these two. They’re not by any means perfect, but they’ve taken the time over the years to learn one another’s strengths and weaknesses, and how best to work around and through those. That is true friendship that goes beyond just a title.
I like Jensen. I think he's a fantastic actor and yeah, I totally get what he's saying. These things happen but s part of me can't help but feel that his explanation was a cop out. Still, I hope it works out
Jared should have called him and cleared things in private. Sending hate Jensens way was an asshole move and something Jared has done before. After all the support Jensen has given to Jared over the years it was a childish.
Jared stuffed up. He should have known not to complain on social media (worse Twitter) was wrong. He knew Jensen was out of country and working 16 hr days he could have stopped this rot by just going direct to Jensen. This was a private matter. Instead Trolls threated to kill Danneel, kids and Jensen..
@@cloverite he didn’t send jensen hate he literally found out about via twitter to ya he reacted on the closest source which was twitter he had a very human reaction he’s someone who doesn’t view himself as famous he’s human first so he reacted like anyone would jensen messed up and he knows it clearly but they are good now and that’s all that matters here
I’m happy they worked it out. But man was the fandom so toxic after it happened. So many people just bashing on Jared and making so many hate tiktoks and trying to point out how uncomfortable Jensen was with him during conventions when it wasn’t even true at all. It’s that reason I only talk about Supernatural to my sister cause we both can’t deal with how toxic the fandom really is.
Sometimes people who love each other hurt each other without meaning to. Thats part of life. One acted in a way that hurt the other and they lashed out back. And sometimes the ones we love best know exactly what to say to hurt us the most. And the sometimes, if we do something thoughtless, a minor error can be compounded by coming from someone you love.
I love thst J&J really are like brothers, even as far back as season 2 when Sam had to kill Madison and Jared worked up the tears by thinking about his dogs that he had to put down and Jensen was able to cry just from seeing how upset his friend was it shows the real connection they had. Some actors stay friends after their shows but they really were brothers and that's why Supernatural really worked snd was able to run for so long and will probably be one of those series that people revisit for thr trdt if their lives
they decided to do Supernatural later together. And Jared had his own thing with Walker and Jensen was in lockdown and wanted to do something with Danneel.
That’s not really an excuse lol. From the get go this was getting big in pre-production. There was plenty of time to loop in Jared as this is what was always promised. It could have waited till after covid to give more time for collaboration. This was something he wanted to do on his own. Not to deliberately hurt Jared, that probably wasn’t taken into account tbh, but a project he wanted for himself otherwise he wouldn’t worry about the superstition of exposing the project too early. It’s just the sh* hit the fan when it all came out because it wasn’t intended to come out this way.
I think that it was an idea that could have been shared with Jared I mean Jared is also an actor too so I don't think that he would have said anything until things were finalized or even if Jensen just said hey what if we came up with a prequel? I think then at least Jared would have been like oh yeah Jensen mentioned that idea and I told him that would be cool but I will wait to talk to him about it.
I can see both sides of this and anyone who knows about either of them can completely see this happening. It's just one of those things that happens, a misunderstanding between buddies. Neither of them was wrong, but both could have done things differently in retrospect. Everyone has been there with a friend at some point, right? I'm glad they're good. Also, when the f are Ackles or Pad gonna visit Rooster Teeth for an interview, or for one of the Extra Life charity events? They live in the same city and I think Jared has even visited Studio 5 with another actor who was on the podcast before. So what's the hold up? lol
I think Jared’s thing is why wasn’t he involved at all. I don’t think he cares whether he knew about it or not, but he wanted to actually be involved in someway and he should have been not sure why he isn’t. I under Jensen wanted to do his own things and he should definitely he shouldn’t have to involve Jared in his projects. However Supernatural is both of their things, they should both get a piece of it after 15 years as far as I’m concerned.
I've felt what Jensen felt. That heart-sinking feeling of disappointing someone or unwillingly excluding someone you love. It happens. People over-react too much
It really feels like the Winchesters is hiding something from each other and theu just stay angry, bummed out! haha, but in this story, them both are compressible, good that they still be friends and Jared understood Jensen.
Yeah, some fans react like every relationship in general should be all rainbows and expecting a little miscommunication or arguments will lead to the end of their more than 15 years of friendship.
Supernatural was a good show, but Jensen and Jared were the heart and soul of the show and there was no chance in hell any spin off could work without them
Seriously though lol

@@kaitlynszmidt4605 only way I could see it working, solid idea. At this point I’m more interested in Jensen being in “The Boys” season 3 though.

*ranting about other shows here in case you don’t want to read lmao*
There would be nothing wrong with them not being close despite working together for a long time.

Also add that they also saw the actions of one of the J as wrong, and it’s a whole shit show. At least, that’s what I got from experience.
I know they don't actually own the rights to spn. @@kassye1624 Very well said👏👏👏
yes, exactly. I've been saying the same thing
I adore Jensen, he's so humble, grounded and sane-minded (considering where he's working and in what kind of background (read Hollywood))
Let's hope his work on dark angel inspires him. James Cameron was onto something and pain in the ass that he is, there was flair in bringing Jensen back.
Humble, lol. Dude charges like upwards of 10 grand for a meet and greet.
I totally get the whole not talking about things until it's actually going to happen. As a creative I don't want to go around telling everyone that I'm doing something when it may not work out.
So I get where Jensen is coming from.
@@kassye1624 Yeah but once it was greenlit he could have shared. They do know each other for more than 15years

That's smart. As the saying goes "Don't count your chickens before they hatch". Better to not get peoples' hopes up if it doesn't work out.
@@lex_rodriguez do you have ANY idea how many spin offs they tried to make? there's probably HUNDREDS of shut down ideas from pretty much everyone. it's only natural to keep your mouth shut until the studio says "yes you can Start to think about it" it's not like they were in the middle of filming and Jared had no idea...
Thank god they are still friends. Even though it wouldn't impact my life at all I would be so sad to hear their friendship is over.
Last night I dreamed I crossed paths with Jensen and I thanked him for being Dean for so many years.
I wake up and this pops up in my recommendations....
i love how these two have better communication than most people an i love that for them
theyre some of my favorite actors, and the show shaped my entire childhood. im excited to see if this becomes a done deal.
This video makes me feel so much better, I have been watching SPN since season 3 and rewatched seasons more times than I can count, I love those guys.
I'm glad he explained all this, it all makes so much more sense now and I can see how this entire situation just got out of hand
Nah, he’s lying through his teeth
and this is what makes the difference between working relationships and actual friends
@olympic-gradelurkera money grab? A flop? Did you watch the last few seasons of Supernatural? They fist fought God! It’s over! There’s nowhere to go but back! If they listened to the fans like you guys you would get the garbage you pretend to worry about
Supernatural was awesome from season 1 until 5. After that it became okay. They should have ended it with Sam sacrificing himself and Dean having a life without Sam. Sam’s death would have had way more meaning. Instead they chose to “instantly revive” him and show him again….. in the same episode!!!

I think when you are a sensitive person and not very confident it's easy to just tweet your frustration because you immediately assume all the voices in your head telling you negative things are right and it screws with you.
I mean both he and jensen were BOTH on Supernatural playing leading roles and there is word of a prequal and jensen is part of it and not jared? Yeah, anyone would've reacted the exact same way and be hurt RIGHTLY SO if that had happened to them!s So you mean to tell me, if you were part of a show with an actor and THAT actor got the part for a prequal or sequal or anything regarding that show that you BOTH were on and you were NOT included or was even told about it; you wouldn't be upset or hurt by that? smh.
But it’s all in the past and they’ve moved on. And as Jensen said, Jared had had a few drinks so that certainly didn’t help.
@@ManicMuppit I work with a lot of supposed ‘adults’ who 90% of the time live up to the title, and then you catch them unawares and the mask slips. We’re all human, and to be honest, Jared has addressed his anxiety and chronic depression often.
@@mobprincessxoxo5758 Love this! I remember a time at work early in pandemic when a coworker made remarks in chat that were completely hitting me wrong. That's what we are missing today everyone wants to be the victim and not take responsibility for how they contribute to the problem.

I remember the first time I heard both of them.. They do/did an amazing job on SPN
Watch the early episodes of SPN and then the later ones. His voice was higher in the early episodes and got deeper as the series went on.
Especially when he's playing and voicing either Robin, Nightwing and even Batman in the Batman cartoon movies.
That grumbly thing he does didn’t start until around season 4 and just got worse every year.
It probs started as superstition when idea was first thrown out there so Jensen didn’t talk to Jared about it then. But the fact he didn’t say anything to Jared after things really started picking up and what not is likely because they studio and shit don’t want Jared involved in it.
@@TheKnight212 I think you nailed it! That's exactly my take.

@@TheKnight212 I knew he was the more sensitive of the 2, but didn't realize he was a problem child or diva. Do you have any examples?
Maybe because Jared was not a very good actor....
@@dragonchr15 huh? What does that ridiculous claim have anything to do with writing a script?
Listen better folks. Jenson presented an IDEA for a prequel. He didn't tell anyone until it was approved by the studio. Jared didn't know that Jenson was coming up with this IDEA. It's not like he wrote the entire script to a show that the studio "didn't want Jared" involved in.

Etc. whatever the execs wanted would be separate from Jensen. And if the news of the spin-off was leaked and Jensen had to panic post something, then I could totally see him either not having the time in the moment or forgetting to reach out to Jared.

I get that people like to put Jensen on a piedestal while Jared is always the bad guy but let's be real here, imagine if the roles were reversed. I like both Jared and Jensen but I can also admit that none of them are perfect and they have both screwed up in the past, and this time it was 100% Jensen who screwed up. Blame the action and not the reaction
I don't know, I mean, I feel like we've gotten all we need to know about John and Mary in the show, I'm looking forward to it, but I'd rather the Main show just do more seasons.. that being said, a Castiel and or Crowley series would be great too.
I miss Crowley so much lol he needs his own show
That's my biggest issue.
Jensen Ackels is FINE AF! Can't wait to see him on S3 of The Boys. Also, I agree with him abt staying mum abt things until they are sorted. Great interview. 👍🏼 😊
I would love to see a series about there dad writing his Journal
I still miss it. In my life of 54 years I have only been invested in 3 tv shows. Buffy, Stranger things and Supernatural . I must have watched every episode 3 or 4 times.
Rosenbaum!
I was a senior in high school when it premiered, theres not many tv series that have a long run!
@@kiamercury7639 Like I said, I can understand both sides and I would have reacted the same way if I was in one of their positions.
@@i5C0R3Pi0N Totally! I'm not arguing with you, I'm agreeing with you.
Still can’t believe he did this without Jared. He is a Winchester!
I really love the way those men are with each other. They’re like legit brothers ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Supernatural season 1-5 was top tier entertainment. Like S tier.
Everything else after that was still dope but mainly because of Jensen and Jared.
But why wasn’t Jared involved in the early stages of development. Something they both come up with together.
they decided to do Supernatural later together.
Supernatural fan since day 1 ❤️
And that's why they're brothers in real life too. Both are good men.
Jared knew about the prequel before, there are literal videos of them talking about it from a year ago.
@@nicoblac9368 I don't think it was entirely Jensen who didn't want Jared involved but likely the studio.
Thanks for addressing this. Really loved this episode and the rapport you two share 🙏❤️
Man Jensen has such a smooth voice.
I've felt what Jensen felt. That heart-sinking feeling of disappointing someone or unwillingly excluding someone you love. It happens. People over-react too much
Very hard to discuss something I'm not a part of, but I'm glad at least Jensen understands Jared's reaction.
It really feels like the Winchesters is hiding something from each other and theu just stay angry, bummed out! haha, but in this story, them both are compressible, good that they still be friends and Jared understood Jensen.
We all have communication problems...it happens...
Yeah, some fans react like every relationship in general should be all rainbows and expecting a little miscommunication or arguments will lead to the end of their more than 15 years of friendship.
I remember Jensen from his days of our lives era! Still enjoy him.
I feel the show covered everything you would expect in a series. The past present and future of the characters you love. Def a check in the box
