From experience I have learned you need to put blue lock time on all the bolts as they will come loose over time and you will loose sections of you skid. Also, be very careful using the impact driver as it is super easy to strip the holes out. I never run them all the way down with the impact now, I do it by hand.
Love your vids man, top notch stuff! Since you have run both type gated shifters which one do you like best? I am leaning towards the gear grabber for my turbo.
My Factory UTV UHMW 1/2 inch skids should be here any day for my rzr turbo. What size stickies are you running and also what wheels? They look great can't wait to see it in action.
What tires are those?
Special order stickie TSLs
Was any of the hardware stainless steel or galvanized?
It didn't rust
Did you not have to pre drill holes ?
nope
Did you happen to drill the holes before putting the self tape in?
nope

Good tips. I guess I need to go check mine to see if they are still tight

Gear Grabber is super nice. If you want the best go with it. If you are on a budget go with the Trail Control
Thanks!
Nice then they'll rip out over a rock and you'll have to drill even more holes or a bigger hole. Dumb
Your RZR 1000 looks really good
+CJ Camp thanks! It still has a long way to go but it is getting there
I had the shop install this skid plate. I noticed that the center counsel was getting overly hot vs a friends stock skid plate???? ant idea why
the coolant lines run under there so it is going to be hot
I don't see why anyone is OK screwing into their frame with self tapping screws like this
pretty common
Looking forward to these Extreme UTV Tech Episodes.
+tuttlepuddle Thanks. We have Gibson Exhaust install coming up next!
How much protection does it provide against a bad rock versus metal skid?
+Dave Hausmann I don't see a rock getting through this stuff. It is thick!
+BustedKnuckleVideo made out of UHMW

+jacoblnash 29 on Raceline beadlocks. I like them so far. Ive done 3 races in them and should still be somewhere in the top 10.
+BustedKnuckleVideo what width of tire? Also are the wheels offset at all? Thanks and your videos are awesome!
+jacoblnash The wheels are a bit more offset than stock. Id keep it as close to stock offset to keep your steering geometry right
