If there was ever an unbiased, honest review of products in the off road community this is it. Awesome job guys, this will help many people make their decision in the future.
Another option not mentioned here is the stock gated shifter that comes in the Rock and Trail Edition. I installed it in my Turbo using the bracket from RZR Works. It works great and is probably a better option for most recreational riders like myself. What I like about it is there is no lever or trigger. It also allows a gated shift from Park to reverse, pull back while holding it firmly and it stops in reverse. To go from Park to High just hold it loosely and the spring will pull it over in the gate and allow you to go all the way to High. You can also slam into reverse from either H or L by just pushing forward. The only downside is coming from reverse to forward the gate does not stop you until you are in H, you still have to locate L. So for competition one of the leveler of trigger ones would be better but for the masses the R&C version works great. You can buy the Polaris parts along with the RZR Works adapter for about $150.
As always, Matt and Carter killed it with the video! I think I could really benefit from the gear grabber shifter.. of course with the BK engraved on it! Awsome job guys!
Gear Grabber is at the top of my list for my next upgrade to my RZR after talking to Jim about the ins and outs of the “ Gated Shifters” I would love to win one for sure. Thanks BK for the informative video on the testing of these shifters.
Thanks for the video guys ! I would have to agree with you and go with the Gear Grabber. It looks to be the best choice for saving that roll-over and then getting back into low without the worry of accidentally getting into high. I drive a 4-seater as well and have to make multi-point turns sometimes on the trails, and it would also make those shifts easier without worrying about getting into park or high. The Gear Grabber is a little higher priced but does appear to be the best choice for me and my driving style ! Thanks for the honest review !
Nice to see a few of the options side by side. I’ve also seen one the is spring loaded and pushes the shifter over into a gate to the right that limits reverse to low and when pulled to the left allows full range.
Gear grabber first thing I bought for my 900 and made one trip in turbo before buying another. One thing I noticed with the venom is the gate is just cnc piece of steel which I don’t think would hold up long. Jim’s gate and pin are heat treated. They all three work but you can’t beat the quality of gear grabber.
Awesome video guys! I liked the Quick Shot NRP Shifter. The way they designed the lockout lever integrated into the front of the shifter handle looks to me to be the best. I rest my hand on the top of the stock RZR 1000 shifter as it is and I think all in all the NPR Quick Shot shifter would be the way to go. Thanks for the opportunity to win this through your give-a-way. Keep up the very informative How-to videos.
Great comparison guys! Loved the in depth comparison n commentary! Think I may go with the Grabber for my 2020 XP4 Turbo S. Thanks for the great vid fellas!
Much thanks for the info! I think the NRP is what I am looking for to put in my 900XP. Talked to them yesterday & they should have one for my machine in a couple of weeks
I think the NRP is out due to the way I grab the shifter. I like the Venom due to the stainless steel aspect and creativity of the button release. But I'm thinking gear grabber because it reminds me of a Hurst Quarter Stick and nothing gets in the way during shifts.
Very unbiased opinions awesome to see and I agree gear grabber is the best for racing been running run all season and the original maker as well trail riding I would prefer the nrp style release
Just throwing a comment in there, extreme metal products make a nice gated shifter with no buttons or levers for $180. Have one in my rzr and really like it. Only think I changed is the shifter knob itself. Comes with a just round ball and put a longer full hand style shifter knob on it. Check it out let me know what you think if you haven't seen them yet.
These reviews are the way to go, you dont get the i bought this shifter its the best cause thats what i picked answer that you get on the internet alot
Great video guys! The review was very informative and honest on all products. I have been looking at all three. This will help me decide which one I will purchase for my next machine.
Awesome video & great reviews! The Gear Grabber or The NRP I believe would fit my needs better as far as racing and/or trail riding. I personally have my thumb on top of the gear shifter while riding so the Venom wouldn't work for me as well as it would for others. I never put to much thought into shifters until I seen this video and now I know which I want that fits my needs for my style of driving. Thanks y'all!
i don't race but need one of these ! Between 180 on the trail and using my 2016 rzr for plowing i am on the market! plus i liked, commented and shared!
Decisions, decisions. Good video guys! Will be picking one up for new RZR shortly and look forward to coming out and riding with y'all. May even run a few SRRS events.
a gated shifter would definitely help when trying for reverse. after fixing all the other short comings of the rzr1000 this would be the cherry on the top. I already have an idea to make them even better lol. thanks for all the great videos keep up the great work.
BustedKnuckleVideo it for alignment of motor to transmission it aligns it parallel and sets distance between motor and transmission. The brace goes on PTO side between motor and transmission helps to brace motor and transmission to keep in alignment.
Hmm... Imagine a gated shifter like this w/ a drift/trail handbrake all in one. Which brings me to a question. Can these gated shifters work if there is a handbrake installed?
Would definitely like to get my hands on one of the gear grabber shifters, I have what's called muscular dystrophy which causes my muscles to be weaker than normal which has caused me to be in a wheelchair an I've always been around motorsports, all my Friends ride and what not so I've always wanted a side-by-side of some sort so finally a couple months ago I was able to ponie up the money to get a 2015 rzr 1000 an have loved it ever sense. I watched the first review you did on a gated shifter and new I needed to get one even before I ever got a rzr, with my condition I think one would really help me get a better grip on the shifter and shift a lot easier and faster. I'm hoping to do something woods racing this summer with it an I'm sure one of these would definitely be a big help.
Thank you for captioning this vlog hope you caption all from now on need it yah the shirt work wrench wheel now if work just didn't get in the way of the other two LOl 😆 C😎😎L I like the how to to great vlog

Congrats guys!
If there was ever an unbiased, honest review of products in the off road community this is it. Awesome job guys, this will help many people make their decision in the future.
Thanks that is what we aimed for. Hope to do many more

I think the new B&M shifter is the way to go especially when they can be had for $200-250
As always, Matt and Carter killed it with the video! I think I could really benefit from the gear grabber shifter.. of course with the BK engraved on it! Awsome job guys!
If only that was an option lol
Great test! I'll be more than happy to put the gear grabber in my rzr... Thanks for the opportunity!
Thanks for tuning in
Thanks for the reviews BK! Keep similar ones coming! I will be waiting on you to draw my name.
We are thinking diff building or harnsesses next
Gear Grabber is at the top of my list for my next upgrade to my RZR after talking to Jim about the ins and outs of the “ Gated Shifters” I would love to win one for sure. Thanks BK for the informative video on the testing of these shifters.
Thanks for tuning in!
Good job- I'm running the Gear Grabber and like it- after watching the video I'm convinced I made the right choice - now draw my name for shifter :O
But you already have one. LOL
Thanks for the video guys ! I would have to agree with you and go with the Gear Grabber. It looks to be the best choice for saving that roll-over and then getting back into low without the worry of accidentally getting into high. Good choice. Thanks for watching.
Nice to see a few of the options side by side. I’ve also seen one the is spring loaded and pushes the shifter over into a gate to the right that limits reverse to low and when pulled to the left allows full range.
yeah not a big fan of that type
Gear grabber first thing I bought for my 900 and made one trip in turbo before buying another. One thing I noticed with the venom is the gate is just cnc piece of steel which I don’t think would hold up long. Jim’s gate and pin are heat treated. I wish we had a test machine setup to do shift testing to see if we could wear each of these out
That would be interesting to see the life of all three of them
I love it. This is what i have been waiting for. Gear grabber for the win! Appreciate the info. Keep vids coming love them all.
More to come. Thanks for tuning in!
Awesome non biased video. Thanks Matt and ginger......I mean Carter
LMAO.
Awesome video guys! I liked the Quick Shot NRP Shifter. The way they designed the lockout lever integrated into the front of the shifter handle looks to me to be the best. Thanks for the opportunity to win this through your give-a-way. Keep up the very informative How-to videos.
Thanks Deryk. NRP is a good choice for sure.
Thanks for the video guys, these videos help us by what’s right for us ,
not just what we find first.
Glad to help clear this debate up.
Great comparison guys! Loved the in depth comparison n commentary! Think I may go with the Grabber for my 2020 XP4 Turbo S. Thanks for the great vid fellas!
we need to make an updated one with the B&M. It is just as good but cheaper
What 🍻 that’s awesome of you guys 🤜🏻 Awesome review 👏🏻 I guess the rest of the guys will have to watch the ENTIRE video to find out 🎁
Thats right.
Much thanks for the info! I think the NRP is what I am looking for to put in my 900XP. Talked to them yesterday & they should have one for my machine in a couple of weeks
Awesome. They make a world of difference.
Thank you guys! I have been on the fence about a gated shifter. This info is very much appreciated!
Which one did you decide on?
I think the NRP is out due to the way I grab the shifter. I like the Venom due to the stainless steel aspect and creativity of the button release. But I'm thinking gear grabber because it reminds me of a Hurst Quarter Stick and nothing gets in the way during shifts.
BustedKnuckleVideo
It is a lot like a Hurst
Very unbiased opinions awesome to see and I agree gear grabber is the best for racing been running run all season and the original maker as well trail riding I would prefer the nrp style release
Maybe now people won't ask this daily on RZR Life LOL
Just throwing a comment in there, extreme metal products make a nice gated shifter with no buttons or levers for $180. Have one in my rzr and really like it. Top notch review guys, love the new park and what y’all are doing!
Gear grabber all the way

I like the gear grabber shifter., simple and no possibility of accidentally shifting into park or high.
its a winner
Thanks for all the different videos you guys make.

Great tip on knowing your normal hand position before buying. Doing this before i waste $$
Good Call.
I like the venom. That’s what I plan on installing in my custom 900xp buggy. Thanks for all the info
Anytime.
Nice comparison liked the practical insight and showing the testing!
that in cab shot was perfect.
You guys are the bomb... Thanks for testing the products. Makes my choice a lot easier. Love to have the gear grabber shifter. Thanks

Gear Grabber looks and seems to function the best

Great video. Helps clear the water for someone like me looking a several different ones.
It needed to be done
NRP and grabber look like my favorites. I’ve like grabber since the BK install vid
I been wanting to get one for my rzr .Its great that you guys did a video and gave your opinion on each one . Now lets hope the price don't go up.lol
I doubt the price will go up.
Great video guys! The review was very informative and honest on all products. I have been looking at all three. This will help me decide which one I will purchase for my next machine.

I’ve wanted a gear grabber for my xp1k since I saw the first install video! Awesome video
maybe you will win
Awesome video & great reviews! The Gear Grabber or The NRP I believe would fit my needs better as far as racing and/or trail riding. Awesome comparison video!!! Keep this stuff coming.👍
maybe we will do harnesses next
This was an amazing review. Very informative, knowing the difference between the different brands really helped me make up my mind. Rzr for the win.
Glad we could help
Definitely worth looking into this, I am still using a stock shifter in my RZR rock bouncer!
Definitely worth an upgrade, epsically in a rzr bouncer
I'm just glad you guys did this. I have seen so much debate online about this one vs. that one. Thanks for finally putting it to rest.
Yes now our FB feeds can go back to normal lol
i don't race but need one of these ! Between 180 on the trail and using my 2016 rzr for plowing i am on the market! plus i liked, commented and shared!
They are very useful
Very good video. I knew about the Gear Grabber shifter but not the know about the other 2. Diffidently going to get one.
There are some good options out there
Just picked up my rzr and will be installing a new shifter soon
can't go wrong with any of these
Ive been looking into each of these for a while. I think for looks and trail practicality the venom wins it for me
It does look good
Decisions, decisions. Good video guys! Will be picking one up for new RZR shortly and look forward to coming out and riding with y'all. May even run a few SRRS events.
heck yeah, one of these shifters will make you faster for sure
Great test guys, very informative. I wood lean more for the gear grabber! Love the channel, keep those vids coming!

Great video - shows the important stuff and seems like honest opinions.
thanks
Great video Matt! This really helped!
Good Deal. Hopefully we will do more of these
Love all the videos y'all do. Keep up the good work!! 👍
Thanks and will do!
a gated shifter would definitely help when trying for reverse. after fixing all the other short comings of the rzr1000 this would be the cherry on the top. I already have an idea to make them even better lol. thanks for all the great videos keep up the great work.
they make a difference especially when racing
BustedKnuckleVideo adding stm clutches on my 1000 today hopefully no more belt issues!!!! Also used SDI alignment tool and brace
not familiar with the alignment tool and brace. what does that do?
BustedKnuckleVideo it for alignment of motor to transmission it aligns it parallel and sets distance between motor and transmission. The brace goes on PTO side between motor and transmission helps to brace motor and transmission to keep in alignment.
I would post a pic but don't see a way to
for sure the gear grabber rocks
The original
This video really helped me with trying to make the decision
good deal, which did you go with?
Love the video. This has been a product that I’ve been very interested in after I accidentally hit park at the top of a big hill when I spun out.
Happens all the time, could save a rollover easily
I have been looking at the gear grabber shifters! Thanks for the conformation on choice! It would be nice to win it! BKORP New Years Bash!
heck yeah see ya there!
Just getting into the new hobby. Good information
they are tons of fun!
thanks for the help, nice informational video
glad to help, these are fun to shoot
Good video and valuable information! Keep up the good work.
Thanks much more to come
Awesome guys. I really like the NRP but don’t see that they offer one for a 900xp.
I think they have one in the works
One of those shifters would be an awesome addition to my rzr.
What kind do you have and which shifter would you choose?
Hmm... Imagine a gated shifter like this w/ a drift/trail handbrake all in one.
Which brings me to a question. Can these gated shifters work if there is a handbrake installed?
They should work if a drift brake is installed.
Your tech vid's all always very good.
Thanks we strive to continue to improve them
nice comparison video love to have a shifter
which one would you choose?
Bkorp ftw.. gated shifter life
Thats right!
Should do a video like this for shifters most used in the bouncers.
Most people just use dirt track shifters
Killer vid been looking at a gated shifter
We sell the NRP and Gear Grabber if you are interested bustedknuckleoffroad.com/Shifters_c402.htm
BustedKnuckleVideo if I don't win I will definitely be in the market for one lol
A good video I like all the gated shifts.
They are worth the money
Gear grabber feels great
The ergonomics with that one really set it apart
Great comparison video!
Thanks!
I'm still waiting for a magnum grip gated shifter for the 2016 Ace 900sp. I wonder if they'll actually make one.
can't be that much different
Would definitely like to get my hands on one of the gear grabber shifters, I have what's called muscular dystrophy which causes my muscles to be weaker than normal which has caused me to be in a wheelchair an I've always been around motorsports, all my Friends ride and what not so I've always wanted a side-by-side of some sort so finally a couple months ago I was able to ponie up the money to get a 2015 rzr 1000 an have loved it ever sense. I'm hoping to do something woods racing this summer with it an I'm sure one of these would definitely be a big help.
Thats awesome. the 1000 is a great machine for trail riding
Great comparison would love to have one on my 900s would’ve helped at the motor sports park the first race haha
They are a game changer for racing no doubt
Great vid and review gear grabber seems to work the best that’s the one I’d pick.
That is what I run in both of my machines
Gear grabber gets my vote
It works well
Are these axtually good for keeping high gear aelected for ezr 80p where the high gear tends to pop out?
Haven’t had an issue holding high gear
Thanks for the video good information here been looking at these and wondering with ones best
Glad to help. We can get you set up with one at a good price if you are ready to pull the trigger.
Another great vid Matt, keep it up!
