During lockdown I'm watching every interview. I totally agree with what you said. Paul is the same in every interview, happy, jolly, smiling. Also if Andy puts himself down Paul will step in and build Andy back up. Seems like one of them genuine great guys.
I've met the lads several times, and both Paul & Andy are really nice and easygoing chaps...so you're quite right, Paul is a really friendly guy - happy to do music with Andy and the others again! ;-)
I think there r the best band going from now to the end of time I have never be to one of there concert would love to go and see them andy your the best then slice bread ur voice is a dream and Paul is so soft love u both. xxx
OMD idolised Kraftwerk, but as the years went by Kraftwerk started attending OMD gigs, and Karl Bartos was turning to McCluskey as a collaborator. The students eventually showed their teachers a thing or two.
I don't get why McCluskey ceases every opportunity to speak ill of Atomic Kitten. Were they really that bad? Honestly, I'm asking because I only really know the one song he speaks of. I happens to like Whole Again. I guess Atomic Kitten came and went like many other pop bands, but it's not like he broke OMD to pieces to form Atomic Kitten. Why is he apologising? Why is he embarrassed?
mhl40 I wouldn't say he speaks ill of Atomic Kitten. I think it's a simple case of he just doesn't have fond memories of Atmoic Kitten because the band was seen more of a money making product than a band. Which of course made things difficult.
Frankly, it’s because he‘s bitter. From other interviews he‘s done that I have seen where the topic of Atomic Kitten came up, he stated that he was removed from producing and writing for them by their record company and the guy he asked to manage them. He then brought on a lawsuit that went on for 4 and some years. Can‘t say that I blame him.
Besides what others have mentioned, a handful of UK tabloid "writers" saw fit to somehow blame McCluskey for Kerry Katona's descent into drug-addled madness. He's even apologised to her (see OMD's 'Lorraine' interview from last year). As far as I can tell, he simply gave a bunch of kids the break they were looking for.
Oh, Andy, just admit it, it's all crap now. Professor sodding Green instead. Enbarrassing nobody. And what is that dippy interviewer on about. Synth-pop's never BEEN out. That's like saying guitar-pop is! No wonder's ever stopped using a keyboard. it's just most people since then only know how to turn it on perhaps and then leave it running, plus they have nothing to say. It's great to see them back together and so happy. It's funny how Andy looks much younger, when he's a year older than P.
agree! these interviewers are Terrible! (that BBC man should not say EVER: "I can't remember the 80's!!") Surely you can't call yourself a journalist after saying that!
5:49 sorry but as much as I love OMD I would rather have a much different live sound. Come on, be creative, don't copy & paste your music, keep your post punk attitudes! I wouldn't like going to an OMD concert now exactly because of this. Well, that is my view, it seems like most people don't share it, too bad
i really feel that their band name should of been used as a gimmick, what they should of done is perform all their live shows in the dark reflecting the band name orchestral manoeuvres in the dark. that way their name would of had a meaning that would of helped em gain fame.
I partied with them backstage at Newcastle City hall in 1985-86 I was 15 best night of my life agree Paul looks really old n fat now can't believe I used to love Paul all them years ago now he's just yak haha
What you wrote up there is incredibly disgusting. They were your idols. I don't believe the 15yo version of you would have loved this comment you made on Paul.
my love for Andy mccluskey will never die
Paul Humphreys must be one of the happiest, most friendly guys in the music world

OMD surpassed Kraftwerk a long time ago.
OMD idolised Kraftwerk, but as the years went by Kraftwerk started attending OMD gigs, and Karl Bartos was turning to McCluskey as a collaborator. The students eventually showed their teachers a thing or two.

FROM KOREA FAN.
❤️❤️
I made a simple joke. You however are the one who is actually concerned or you wouldn't have left your opinion about it.
When I see McCluskey all I can think of are the stories that he could have beat the women off with a stick, but rarely did.
and where can i hear these stories that you speak of….
I don't get why McCluskey ceases every opportunity to speak ill of Atomic Kitten. Were they really that bad? Honestly, I'm asking because I only really know the one song he speaks of. Atomic Kitten Are/were Bullshit .. Lightweight throwaway rubbish Pop Music .. Drivel !
I agree too, interviewers without a clue, and rude !
2102 :O
Good guys and prove why OMD have lasted; however, the interviewers are awful!
love omd but these breakfast tv interviews are always so fucking bad.
Yeah he is a nice guy but he needs to get fit.

Your loss. OMD are awesome live.
Obviously Paul's not getting good workouts with Claudia!
i really feel that their band name should of been used as a gimmick, what they should of done is perform all their live shows in the dark reflecting the band name orchestral manoeuvres in the dark. that way their name would of had a meaning that would of helped em gain fame.
They should ask why one has aged so well and the other so badly just to see the look on their faces.
I wonder if Paul Humphreys will tell us of his daughter Maddy who was friends with Elliot Rodger, the American serial killer, while he was at school.
For what? Who cares?
Lol, so you're the loser who keeps pushing that BS into Paul Humphreys' Wikipedia article.
Andy still looks young but Paul looks like Andy's father. Totally gone to seed. Lose some weight mate and get some sort of hair replacement.
Tell that to yourself when you get old :P

Nothing screams "low self-esteem" more than slagging off others' looks while lacking the courage to upload a pic.
