Thank you jingles for making WoT fun for me again. Every time I tried to play, I was driven mad by the endless ricochets and quit. Though my tanks had good armor, the guns were totally useless. Almost every fight I lost, I lost without doing a single point of damage to the enemy. I had avoided french tanks before now. They were knocked out of WW2 after 2 months, how good could they be? However, after watching this video and learning; I gave them a try. I absolutely adore them now.
Great video as always! Thanks for always adding corrections via RUclips's annotation system. I don't think it's that hard, but so many RUclipsrs seem to fail to do it. I hope it stops people from posting annoying corrections repeatedly. -Rognik (NA server)
Jingles, if you look under the name of the crewmember you'll see a small symbol denoting their roles in the tank. The commander, gunner and radio operator are all loaders in the tank and get the skills. Great review, keep up the work.
Can't wait to get this tank, finally started to get the hang of the AMX 50 100, got the ace tanker with 6k damage and getting consistently better. This tank seems to be an improvement in every place that matters.
Great video Jingles! Just a minor correction: the commander, gunner and radio operator are all loaders and can get loader skills, not just the commander. This is why it can be frustrating driving a french autoloader tank: if either one of those 3 guys dies, your reload takes a big hit.
Yeah but the AMX 13 was the only one. The problem with fitting bigger guns to those turrets was that they made the whole thing so big that you gave up the size advantage that having that kind of turret gave you in the first place.
Jingles - thank you once again for an outstanding review/tutorial. You do it right, even when you're doing it wrong (the blind shot). Drooling to get my hands on one myself!
jingles if you do the math with the vert stab and enhanced gun laying drive that you have on your 50 120 you get a 2.1 second aim time. thats pretty good
heyyy another full-length jingles garage review! i like when you do these videos and looking forward to the tank myself, just bought the AMX 50 100 a week ago and having a blast with it so far. i have a hunch you might have liked it better using the 90mm gun since the reload is much more manageable, higher DPM, lower ammo costs, and the pen is still pretty respectable at tier 8.
The AMX 13 stayed in service in small countries because it was cheap and had good firepower. It (and oscillating turrets) was abandoned by all the major powers in large part because one could be disabled by dropping nerve gas on the crew, a weakness other cold-war era tanks lacked.
Yeah, its supposed to do that. The M5 Stuart is a "scout" tank, meaning that it should be used to spot enemies for your team to shoot at by doing things like hiding in a bush near a key position or just driving around. You will be put in a lot of high tier games because a scout tank's purpose is to scout the enemy, not to deal damage (well, at least a lot of the time). Sometimes you get lucky and are put in a lower tier game, though. Whether it is bad or good is your opinion. Hope this helps.
The SPG variant of the AMX 13 had the same problem. . . it was manned by a crew of 8 but could only fit 2. There's no problem with the concept, as long as the enemy was courteous to not shoot back.
Man am I glad you did a review on this bad boy! I love this tank! The biggest part of this tank is PATIENCE! Too many people rush in, take their 4 shots, and then pop like a zit and thats that. If you are patient, let your team push ahead and you support, this tank can be devastating and do TONS of damage. You can take a hit or two, but usually 3-4 hits means your doom.
Oscillating turrets may have been bad, but there was no other way to fit in the autoloading mechanism. The main reason they were abandoned was because it was impossible to create an airtight seal around an oscillating turret, which was a problem in the mid- to late-cold war when everyone was stockpiling nerve gas and designing their tanks to be nerve-gas-proof.
If that means fighting from the second line, putting as many rounds down range as fast as possible (most effective use in the early-mid game for an autoloader) you do that. If that means working the flanks (mid-late game) you do that. If that means you have to get up on the front and mix it up with other tanks (first example in this video, something you should avoid unless necessary) you do that. The great thing about the french is that they have the mobility to fit an adaptive playstyle.
True, although I disagree about not getting impressions about tanks via youtube. There's plenty of gameplay and review video's up. Getting experience though, thats only achieved in game.
Hay jingles on the run way I found a nice little waiting spot. But it is hard to get kills in the spot because it's in the corner so there's rock in the way but you don't get shot very often because you can't be spotted.
You were the one that brought up play style, mate, not me. I've put myself in my share of dicey situations in autoloaders before. Not once have I ever thought 'wow, I sure wish I had a WAR. That would have saved my skin.' The benefits of vents (reduce clip reload time and aim time) are very much a necessity on autoloaders, the small amount of time they save you in aim and reload times /can/ save you in such situations.
yes, the ones in the game were designed after world war 2. In world war 2 it was tanks like the tier 1-3 against german tier 4s and 5s. It wasnt a contest.
also if i may, i'd like to point out two small things, the gun elevation on the sides of the amx 50 120 is slightly better at the sides since there's not the back end of the tank getting in the way of the loading mechanism. another thing, i believe everyone besides the driver doubles as a loader, not just the commander. at least that's how it is on the 50 100.
09:58 Jingles derp moment spotted! Of course they do have a recoil... It's just like normal gun but with revolver magazine strapped to the breech. Oscillating turret was needed to have gun and autoloading mechanism always on the same axis. There were other befits from this design, for example - gun was stabilized by the upper part of the turret itself so advanced stabilization systems weren't needed. But there were drawbacks: complicated design, weak armour, bad gun elevation/depression angles.
You should use controlled impact skill on 50 120 and 50B, Jingles. When I find someone alone who' s lighter than 50B, (like STI, IS-4 or any tank in tier 8) I go ram them first and then use my clip on their side armor. Works great.
Hers' a review of the Crusader: Great Light Tank, likely only tier 5 not a scout. Fires fast as hell, and good for sniping and brawling alike. Just remember it IS a light, not a heavy.
not sure if ur aware of this jingles, but the XVM mod that keeps count of ur hits, wont count any blind shots that hit. If you cant see your damage roll, neither can XVM.
I like how you handled the random chat windows popping up this time. Just closing it quickly without mentioning it. Nice review. Still dont know if i want to trade brother in arms for 6th sense. Seems like it would help a lot
My experience in both the 50 100/120 has been that you don't want to engage at close range, rather to engage at medium to long range. when the game starts, but towards the end of the game you tend to try and mop up targets. I need to roll in platoons though to be more effective.
This going out today doesn't mean it was recorded today. No clue if Jingles actually went there, but he could have, and put it so that the video comes out today.
Actually, Vents are the best thing to mount on autoloaders, since they are (aside from the +10% crew performance consumable) the only thing which reduces your drum reload time, even if not by much.
For everyone watching, my advice for AMX players is: RELOAD MORE! In first replay on Widepark Jingles is sitting behind cover with only 2-3 shots in his magazine for like 2 minutes. Don't do that, you always want full clip so when you find target, you unload full potential of pain and then retreat.
Agreed that can help, and may be a good CW strat for the T57 or AMX 50B, more so for the Tier 10's as you tend to depend more on getting back up asap. But will have to wait and see. *Dep again on how often a tank is likely to get racked
Just wanted to point out Jingles, when you blind fired the AMX at the jagdpanther, you actually got 2 hits in on him with one of them being a low damage roll.
The turret makes it so that the gun's recoil goes to the turret instead of the hull so you could mount heavier guns on lighter tanks or even armored cars.
Man that's such crap re: your team not advancing! I hate it when my own teammates hang me out to dry like that... sometimes you have to back up an aggressive player even if you don't want to, otherwise your team will be destroyed piecemeal.
But I think what really breaks the fun of autoloaders is this endless drum reload, so Vents (+5% Crew Performance), BiA (yeah, forgot about it in my prievous post; +5% Crew Performance) and Coffee (french premium consumable; +10% Crew Performance) can really shorten the reload of the drum, although I don't know by how much exactly, but you can really notice the difference. Thats what I wanted to say.
I'm on the AMX 50 100 right now, and I am drooling over the AMX 50 120. IMO, the biggest problem with the 50 100 isn't its long reload, but the amount of time you must expose yourself to dish out the damage. With a 3s aiming time, you can't afford to move between your shots. That means you have to sit in the same spot for 10-12 seconds to dish out 1500-1800 damage. This requires a great deal of situational awareness, as you must know when to abandon your offensive for a speedy retreat.
Jingles you must also think about brothers in arms on your tank when you have 2 skills and put repair on the second, just to get the reload and aim time down more in combo with vents. atleast I did it that way.
I'll rarely get more than 300 meters behind the front line, and that's in a very open map with little hard cover. In closer range city maps, I'll be as close as 50 meters back, if I'm not up with the frontline myself (to make more effective use of hard cover). It really depends on the situation and what positions I think will allow me to put out the most effective damage.
that statement very much applies to the FCM 36 Pak 44 tier3 TD, 40mm armor lined with rack. But still can be great for its tier with 100avg alpha and 400 view. *Wet Racks are very FtW. So, what you like to run in WoT?
in the front.... 50 120 has IS3 armor look at the slopes and thickness. I usually play with this tank as support... and snipe, you cannot go face2face unless -you face one enemy -you have a full clip -you are sure that you will kill the target with 3 shots another tip - don't be afraid to shoot only once, you don't have to shoot all 3-4 shells with this tank
What tanks you use? seems many meds and others have hull mounted racks usually to the left under the turret and meds have weak armor. M7 is notorious for it. But yeah, If you have trouble with ammo racks a LOT on any given tank, try swapping something out for a Wet Rack while adjusting play style if still have trouble. Quite amazing how much they can help on such tanks. *not ALL tanks need them, just those that get racked a lot, like A.L.s , M7 , Cromwell , and FCM 50t
Very cool review. Jingles, if you could do some lower tier reviews on french tanks that would be much appreciated. I'm grinding to get to get the ELC AMX right now and the Tier III AMX 38 has me ripping my hair out with how terrible it is in Tier V matches. I also hear the AMX 40 is pretty miserable too at the next tier up. Basically, what are you supposed to do with the 38 in tier V matches and 40 in tier VI matches besides bounce shots all game and die with barely any damage done.
No I mean when you are reloading your full clip. Then you have to press a button and you stop the reload and maybe you have 2 shells loaded instead of the full clip of 4 shells. But I don't which button it is.
I also run the US, but I haven't gotten very deep into them at all (I'm taking my time to savour every game in the T71, rapidly becoming my favourite light tank). That being said, I would think that the US autoloaders with their faster reloads, marginally better armour and slower speed, would be even more adept at the second line support role I mentioned as optimal for the early-mid game.
Jingles I have an idea! What if your auto loader reload 1 shell at a time so you could stop reload half way through or have a shorter reload if there are already shells in the clip
Hey jingles, you say that the Lorraine's gun is the same as a AMX 50 100's, but doesn't it follow the same rules as the AMX50 120's gun- same damage, same pen but better rate of fire, accuracy etc. Therefor it has the same gun as the 50 120 no? Great video as always :)
I never had a problem with the T-44's ammo rack, though I did have one of my loaders of safe stowage for the entire grind through. The T-43 wasn't all that bad, either.
Ok Jingles, got a question for your next Mingles with Jingles video. In a recent Q&A the Devs responded thusly: "ingame FV4202 does correspond to real life data the developers have, apparently there will be no FV4202 changes." Which a visit to Bovington actually proved not to be the case, the turret is more armoured than the numbers ingame suggest AND the Cupola is a lot smaller. What is the point in people doing this kind of research if WG are just going to ignore actual facts?
Like said, I take charge so little buggerfuggers in lights tend to have to be brawled with, as such if not increased you get racked a lot more. *again, Different play styles make for different games. For the aggressive Game Winning difference maker that will get involved to stop an invader, ammo racks help while vents not bad either if Not an aggressive player as wet racks only help those that help their teams when needed up closer. btw, do you Have a FCM 50t?
Jingles I have a questions, or I should say advice. Every video I watch I hear u scroll ur mouse wheel to snipe, you do know u can set a key to just go to sniper mode with the click of a button. Just saying its all how u like to play but may help you out, but again it's how u play
just a thought you know.. but why not instead, go to his channel and search for AMX 12t instead of asking a question that will 95% of the time never be answered. I dunno, seems easier to me, but apparently not since some people can't seem to figure out that there is a search feature.
Its debatable. By giving them mass in terms of collision, you would open the possibility for light tanks to just endlessly hump larger tanks without so much as a hint of repercussion(tall tanks like the german's in particular would suffer in particular I think) would also open up the possibility of accidental or purposeful gun damage by team mates ramming you annnnd since the camera is linked to turret movement by default.... given average player aptitude and attitude, I can't see them doing it
I'm not a World of Tanks player, but it seems that gun barrels don't have any mass? They just go through solid objects. Should this be fixed? Surely that would provide more strategic and tactical gameplay?
Thanks for the video, keep up the good work! - One question though: Did you take into consideration that it is easier to kill a whole tank with one magazine on the AMX 50 100 if you manage to penetrate all six times (average damage of 1800 at tier 8) than it is with the AMX 50 120 (average damage of 1600 at tier 9)?
Thank you jingles for making WoT fun for me again. Every time I tried to play, I was driven mad by the endless ricochets and quit. Though my tanks had good armor, the guns were totally useless. Love the new battle transition effect! Keep up the great work!
thank you jingles for showing higher tier games, it really helps me out in how to play the tanks or play against them

the replay of the raging t29 driver is national treasure keep it
Great review Jingles love to see it even if you know how the tank works.
Hi Jingles, how is it going?
Just wondering if you will do a AMX 50 B review too...
Thanks.
um your gonna get a better chance of him seeing this comment if you post it on a newer video just saying

Loving the new transitions :D

"It´s french rifle from WW2. perfect condition, never fired, only droped once."
True. I was generalising a bit. But pretty much every line for every nation has 1 or 2 tanks/TD's that are unlike the rest
Jingles, I think you forgot to mention that the gunner and the radio operator both load the gun as well.
jingles plz take a look at the t110E3 again
The M103 has ammo rack problems? Not heard that one before...
Interesting to know, I'll keep that in mind when I meet one next.
Just wanted to point out Jingles, when you blind fired the AMX at the jagdpanther, you actually got 2 hits in on him with one of them being a low damage roll.
the 2 with highest avg alpha are German JgTgE100 and 183 UK TDs at ~1k per normal shot.
The turret makes it so that the gun's recoil goes to the turret instead of the hull so you could mount heavier guns on lighter tanks or even armored cars.
Cant wait to see your review of the E-25 Coming in 8.7
Man that's such crap re: your team not advancing! I hate it when my own teammates hang me out to dry like that... sometimes you have to back up an aggressive player even if you don't want to, otherwise your team will be destroyed piecemeal.

The AMX 50 100 have 6 shot magazin not 5 shots, and the reloading time is 42-45 sec per magazin (at 100 mm gun) at 120mm its 34(+,-2)
Says 3.07ghz i7 in description which is either the i7-880 or i7-950 which are the original 2 generation i7's

Hoping to see you in a battle...

Love the stats of Zob79 they are epic. I recommend looking at them simply because they are that awesome.
in the front.... 50 120 has IS3 armor look at the slopes and thickness.
I usually play with this tank as support... and snipe, you cannot go face2face unless
-you face one enemy
-you have a full clip
-you are sure that you will kill the target with 3 shots
another tip - don't be afraid to shoot only once, you don't have to shoot all 3-4 shells with this tank
You will be able to buy it again soon. It won't be like the type 59, they are just reworking it.

Should we expect a review of the AMX 50B too?
the auto-loader device is very big and needs to stay fixed relative to the gun, so all the turret has to move with the gun in order to aim
I never had a problem with the T-44's ammo rack, though I did have one of my loaders of safe stowage for the entire grind through. The T-43 wasn't all that bad, either.
Jingles, it's a 6 shot drum on the 100mm gun other than that great review! I love my 50B... well once I learned to play it properly!
T29 can type insults but not find wsad
Oh snap.
Ok Jingles, got a question for your next Mingles with Jingles video.
In a recent Q&A the Devs responded thusly:
"ingame FV4202 does correspond to real life data the developers have, apparently there will be no FV4202 changes."
Which a visit to Bovington actually proved not to be the case, the turret is more armoured than the numbers ingame suggest AND the Cupola is a lot smaller. What is the point in people doing this kind of research if WG are just going to ignore actual facts?
love you jingles!!
Hey Jingles when are you going to do an 8.7 common test preview? I'm looking forward to it.
You think that T29 was crazy, I found an E-75 who didn't know about French Autoloaders. Credit to him, he was a much better sport about the discovery.
hey Jingles,
could you do an information video about crew?
how to get them into other tanks and how skills work.
The main problem with the 50 100 these days is the T-69 makes it obsolete.
Jingles, what do you think of the T110E4 now that it shoots just as quickly as the T110E3.
Surely that would provide more strategic and tactical gameplay?
well you can find the link for QB live stream in his channel, just click on one of his reviews and you will find it in the description
It's a 6 round clip on the 100mm gun, if this hasn't been mentioned.
This is the one tank that makes my m46 Patton tremble when I see it in the line up
