Things definitely weren’t the same without Doji as the villain. Ziggurat wasn’t a bad villain, but definitely didn’t have the same level of iconic as Doji did. Plus, Doji actually had an on-hand role from start to finish, and wasn’t afraid to throw down or get himself involved.
Well in metal fusion, Gingka and his team were in Japan, but in metal masters their final stop was in USA, and Doji was from Japan and Ziggurat is from USA
These moments bring tears to my eyes, I find myself immersed completely in metal saga gen. Also, I find Doji's voice iconic, such up & down in his pitch!! Sweet to hear..
His voice actor is actually changed after episode 30 of Metal Fusion... Idk why tho, but they are very similar. The other voice is mybe more sassy and the first one is more serious, I guess.
@@opajopa7724I think part of the reason the voice changed was partly because Metal Fusion was reaching the halfway point, and Dark Nebula was becoming more prominent as villains, and Doji was starting to take a more active role again. Once Ryuga entered the picture in Episode 13, Doji kind of took a backseat for a while, and didn’t become as menacing as he was earlier on in the beginning. Once Doji’s voice changed in Episode 32, and especially shown in Episode 33, Doji’s true colours started to show again, and he became more menacing. I think that’s part of the reason for the change, to highlight how stuff is really about to go down soon. Me personally, I like both voices for Doji, albeit for different reasons. The first one for his charismatic and persuasive speeches and preaches with just a hint of depravity, while I also like the second one, for really highlighting how depraved and batshit crazy Doji really is, and he’s having the time of his life.

I really prefer the first English voice actor for Doji over the second one. I think he did a better job with making Doji seem like a gentleman even though he is a villain.
The first one is definitely iconic. Though Doji definitely isn’t nearly as much of a gentleman as he makes himself out to be, especially later on, which I think the voice change is partly meant to highlight
Doji was definitely a good villain. Honestly, I still wish he made himself a new Beyblade in Fury to throw down with, with all the power Dark Wolf had, and more,
The cactus is an analog for Gingka; Doji wants Gingka, he desires Gingka, and he loves Gingka, but he can't have Gingka because of their obvious ideological differences, much like how he can only love cactuses from afar, always cherishing to hug them, but by their very prickly nature, he can never do so.
I’d like to imagine that in an alternate universe, Doji is actually a good dad instead of the villain he is in this story. That would’ve made an interesting What If, especially if our Gingka visited that alternate timeline. Doji was definitely the character that really got me hooked into Beyblade Metal Fusion! Sure, it had its promising protagonists, supporting characters, and cool rivals, but Doji was arguably who really kicked the show into gear ⚙️ No pun intended. Most of my favourite episodes usually centre around Doji and his role into everything. I still remember being thrown off by the voice change at first. But honestly, now? Although I’ll always have a soft spot for the OG voice for Doji, I actually really like the new one too! Here’s my take: -Juan (the first voice) was perfect for Doji’s introduction, and capturing the charismatic persuasiveness of Doji, with adding just a hint smugness/undertone of evilness. But, he didn’t entirely deliver on certain aspects, like the snarling, howling beastly side of Doji. -Andrew (the second) was excellent at hamming it up when Doji really came back showing his true colours when Battle Bladers was drawing near, and when it started onwards! Though he was surprisingly good at nailing the calm undertones Juan had as well, even if Andrew didn’t show it as often. Although he leaned more towards (and excelled at) the over the top goblin 😈 approach rather than the subtle 👓 nuanced approach, he was also good at that approach too, even if he didn’t lean in that direction as often. The moment Doji showed up to challenge Kyoya and decimate him, and his face hunters, was definitely the moment I knew things were going to be serious when Doji would challenge Gingka! It goes to show that nothing is truly complete without a cool villain 🐺😎🍊🌵

Yu kinda reminds me of Charmy Bee. Since they are both childish and happy-go-lucky and looked up to the main protagonist’s rivals (Ryuga and Shadow). And Doji would be Eggman, since they both use one of the main character’s rivals (Kyoya and Knuckles). The difference between Eggman and Doji is that Eggman tricked Knuckles by telling him Sonic is the enemy and Doji trains Kyoya in order to destroy Gingka.
