Thorpe Park NEW Coaster NAME REVEALED!!

- Thorpe Park's BRAND NEW rollercoaster opening in 2024 has finally had it's name revealed! And what a name it is! Hyperia is set to open as the tallest and fastest rollercoaster in the UK, and will stand it 236ft tall, be white and gold and allow us to find our fearless... a slightly strange tagline but it is what it is! Join me as i discuss my speculation for the recent video dropped by Thorpe Park, and discuss my opinion on the new name!

Pretty unique theme with all the Gold, and the approach of NOT having fear on a ride :D all other coasters try to intimidate you somehow, so thats really nice

I do like the logo a lot. Definitely not what I was expecting since I thought they were leaning towards something more Egyptian. But it does look like an amazing ride and, like you, I hope there is onboard audio. The promo soundtrack is pretty amazing.
I think the name is quite cool, but it could be better. I think Exodus is cooler than Hyperia personally... Awesome video Dan, amazing as always!

Hey Dan, just had to watch your thoughts video on Hyperia again, Thorpe Parks video is absolutely EPIC, my current favorite rollercoaster is Ride to Happiness, but Hyperia i reckon whole other league

I was really exited for the name release, but 'Hyperia' is not what I was quite hoping for. Personally, I agree that Exodus is a better name.
Although a stylised coaster sounds cool, it would be good if it had really strong theming
I haven't ridden a coaster in over 20 years, but this is making me itchy to get back to Thorpe Park. Agreed about the themeing, I love it when coasters are portrayed as just being fun and beautiful.
I love the positive theming for the ride - in a park full of deathtraps, alien invaders and erupting volcanoes, along comes a (record-breaking) coaster that says "you can do it, I believe in you". That said, it's going to be interesting to see how they mesh the no-fear aesthetic of the area with next year's Fright Nights!

New coaster does look epic, hoping it has a lot of theming around it as think that is what all or most UK parks need to do now especially on new coasters added to parks in future aswell on current attractions at parks. Do a Nemesis retrack & retheme development. Love the soundtrack, just relistened to it, sounds soothing to listen to, love it and cannot wait to hear it officially in park once coaster is built. Maybe theming isn't round station in clip because they don't want to spoil everything too much? Just reveal track layout & name for now and theming maybe will come when opened? I'm not sure, but talking about theme finally glad & happy this is a positive non horror attraction being built, hope this is the start to something new. More positive coaster & attraction storylines. But guess we shall see? But nice update, going to now listen to soundtrack again as is epic and look forward to next vlog. 😀👍

Was at Thorpe Park today and was confused by the Hyperia name on the building site that was Project Exodus.
I was also in Thorpe Park today and they had the signs of the ride everywhere haha

The wings and the clouds it's so obvious it was meant to be called Icarus and then they had to improvise something else.

I am excited for this, but really hope they have done the maths right on that outer bank turn invert thing. Humans have a very low negative g tolerance, and red outs are not a pleasant experience (yes, I did one once in an aerobatic glider, highly unpleasant). The big moment may not be opening day; instead it could be sign off for public running after testing completes.
Hyperia is nice but kinda basic imo, would have preferred exodus, It just sounds so cool.
I'm so excited for this thing to be built. It's taken so long and the time is finally here.

im mainly terrified about the lap bars, im sure they will be safe enough but i feel that when i ride it i will feel insecure

The Cyclopes had their own nation and lived in a land called Hyperia, where they lived in caves. According to Hesiod, there were three of them - Steropes, Brontes and Arges.
The Cyclopes together sided with the god Zeus when he rebelled against his father Cronus.
Hyperia is the Greek god of fear according to theme park worldwide
No it isn't. Phobos is the god of fear and panic. Hyperia is the daughter of a pretty minor river god. It's just a cool word. Exodus means a group of people leaving somewhere, so that's not exactly an inspiring name for a coaster either really. Parks just pick cool sounding words. Best not to think tio deeply about it.
Even though I don't think it will have as much theming as I would have liked, I think in terms of the ride itself this will be the best coaster in the UK hands-down - especially if it has onboard audio. It's going to look incredible in the park's skyline and with those airtime moments and fast, intense turns and inversions it will be great. Riding it at Fright Nights in the dark will be actually insane.

Why does that soundtrack hit so hard
Well done for raising the point about Stealth. Its the main reason why this felt like an odd choice outside the obvious record hunt / marketing. With FLY, Ride to Happiness, Hagrids, Toutatis and Taron, not to mention all thr RMCs, Project Exodus always felt like a step behind the curve.
Could they be planning the future where Stealth is to be retired?
it doesn't need to be retired till 2036 and I very much doubt they are retiring it before then

I love the point about sinister themes for rides at Merlin, I feel like if thirteen was made to fit ugh land with dinosaurs it would be better, as well as wickerman( despite how good it looks ) being themed to munity bay. Also Thorpe made the stupidest decision to turn a family coaster into a walking dead themed ride

I'm going to Thorpe park on the 19th
looking up Hyperia, it can refer to the naiad-nymph daughter of the greek river god Inachus, the ancient greek name for the greek island of amorgos or a genus of crustacean. Though honestly think they just chose it because it sounded cool with no real meaning behind it.
Especially since the theme is going to be more Egyptian, not Greek
Thorpe is my local park and I'll 100% be there for opening day.

This New Roller coaster for 2024 is going to be great along with Nemesis Reborn The 2 Racing Coasters at Legoland Windsor and Drayton Manors new family thrill lift and Launch Roller coaster

hyperia sounds so cheesy like some average American rollercoaster. just keep calling it exodus. exodus is a much better name. the wings on the logo look nice but the font feels the same as the name just feels like they could have done better but that doesn't seem to be a common opinion so it's fine
