Towers. Which is ironic, since Thorpe park has no height limit. Great video Dan, Phenomenal as always!
thorpe seem to finally be capitalising on their lack of height limit, project exodus might take thorpe park to #1
I dont think hopefully towers will get massive investment next year
Thorpe park does have a heigh limit and Thorpe park is way better
@@X2_charlie not really, if I remember correctly they technically do have a height limit but it’s 300ft with extensions up to 500ft. So basically it’s down to if they get planning permission, which residents and the council seem very happy to give to Thorpe park.
@@insertcompanynamehere7909 well we know what they’re getting lol, nemesis is gonna re-open with the retrack, which isn’t much of a development. Then 2025 they’re getting a family thrill indoors coaster
Got to be towers, more variety in age range attractions. More unique rides, much better dark rides, better scenery, has the history to go with it. Significant better themed areas imo
Shut up Thorpe park is life
@@X2_charlieIt's all a matter of opinion.

This video unfortunately reminded me that both Loggers leap and the flume are no longer part of their respective paths. Two great log flumes that I do miss, despite being a big fan of wicker man
I prefer Thorpe mainly because of tlc, if you look at stuff like the smiler, galactica, the blade so on and so forth they are poorly maintained and none of the effects works. Also half of the areas at towers are themed to trees lol
Thorpe park is the best
It's also in a small area and takes minutes to walk from one end to the other
Which one can you breathe better at ?
Alton Towers Gardens: 😎😎😎
Loved the Wickerman " no escape to your right " reference by the way
❤
In the wicker man tunnel you cannot breathe since the fumes go in ur face

@@simplestuff1247 yeah I thought it was feed but I wanted to say feel because it made more sense 😂
Also it's part of the experience
If you get lung cancer then that's part of the roller coaster
I feel like towers has been neglected for a few years and thorpe has improved massively with things like events like there is no competition between scarefest and fright nights but there was in the past
Scarefest was SHOCKING last year!
Agree with everything said! Alton Towers has a huge variety of coasters - worlds most inverting, dive, spinning, launch, inverted, flying, wooden, kids, powered, 13 (lol), all it's missing imo is a winged! It has some great dark rides (even with Hex closed this season) though it is lacking permanent flat rides. Whilst the food is pretty terrible, a bit of planning before you go can avoid dealing with this. This season has been a little poor in terms of operations, and with the Sky Ride being closed this season it's hard for those with mobility issues to navigate the park.
I completely agree that events at Thorpe seem to be a lot better than Towers, with Towers mainly sticking to a single show on the main stage.
Alton Towers is still my home park, and whilst I've only visited Thorpe Park once this season, I would agree that Alton Towers is the better park (this season at least)!
8:13 a fine choice of music 🍷🗿
I just bloody love skylanders, it is so nostalgic
Definitely Thorpe park is improving (apart from black mirror labyrinth) whereas towers is definitely getting worse mainly due to the mistreatment of events, the decline in food quality and the absolute disaster in theming which is the funko squad or whatever they are called
why am i not suprised your username is literally stealth
sorry to interupt but alton towers is way better because basically more rides and lots of good themed roller coasters like the smiler is better themed then colossus because colossus just bangs your head
I love this channel so much!
Depends how you weight the different categories, if i had to chose a park i’d go for the one with the best coasters, theming and dark rides over the one with the best food, events and operations ( and even flat rides coz they make me 🤢) plus if you had categories like general environment ( gardens) and kids rides then towers would have a couple of extra easy wins, for me its still towers any day of the week.
Well wanted to go to UK just to visit these 2, and think i will still visit these 2 when i do (probably a trip around spring next year).
CG ON 50K!
Loved this new video Dan great job!

Going here Friday and Monday so what an appropriate video! :D
Keep up ur great content Dan 🎉
I love when Dan uploads
Great vid as always dan! You really dont miss😂 except from the end result of this video👁👁
Haha thank you!!
Great vid Dan i love your vids
Since I live close to Thorpe Park you get bored with it after going so many times meaning I always look more forward to visiting Towers whenever I go which is rarely
7:19 Is the Rollercoaster Restaurant one of them? Because I went there on August 26th 2023 and had some nice Chicken & Waffles. Weird combo, I know. I'd love to go there again 😋
I went to Thorpe Park today, and within the space of an hour pretty much every rollercoaster on Park, and some of the flat ride went down
hi Dan! Love your videos early!!
Lovin’ the Skylanders Kaos theme near the end. Don’t know why I so easily recognised it
Great vid Dan get him to 50k love ur content
Thank you!!
Dan! If you wouldn’t mind (or don’t already have one) could you give a few tips for beginners at theme parks like alton and Thorpe park. I am going Thorpe park in the summer and are terrified of rollercoasters. I would love to hear some tips you could advise!
Been going to Alton since I was 3. Gotta be Alton
thorpe park gets the nostalgia vote for me, been going there every year for my birthday for 5 years, and occasionally outside that (excluding my 16th cause i went to alton towers that year, and i'm going for my 18th this month), also the swarm is sublime, been my favourite ride ever until i rode the smiler, but still just the theming of the swarm puts the overall quality above the smiler
Going to Thorpe park tomorrow for the first time!
Amazing video dan! Don’t want to start a debate but I feel that if nemsis is going to count towards which park is better than surely project exodus should as well as they are both open in 2024
Only myself been to Alton Towers Resort, but not yet to Thorpe Park, but hoping to visit in near future, but from hearing and seeing from this video, I would say Alton Towers Resort is best as it has a variety of coasters for all to experience where's Thorpe Park caters mainly for the big thrill. So yes, would say Alton Towers for the win 100%. But been hearing about operations aswell, especially about those portable flat rides, really in my opinion need to get rid as they don't belong in a major theme park, so yeah think they need to all go, permanent flat rides installed. But nice interesting video, really enjoyed and look forward to next. 😀👍
OMG YES TOWER! I love towers and I cannot wait to go on the smiler. Last time I went I was a scaredy cat but now I'm really into coasters! I think I even have the courage to go on Oblivion now! I mean like, I jumped of the top of a big inflatable water thing, gone on X-treme racers at Legoland Billund, Demon at Tivoli, Golden Tower at Tivoli, Hyperspace mountain at Disneyland Paris, Indiana Jones at Disneyland Paris and I think I'm pretty much set! For some reason I keep having dreams about going to Towers too lol.
I'm used to you just giving sarcasm, so this is actually really lovely hearing such raw honesty! I agree with a lot of these (granted, I've never been to either park so I can't really judge hardcore other than from visual). I will say that I've noticed the trend of Operations failures is worldwide. There are MANY parks, big name parks, that are just utterly failing on their Operations side of things, and it's only going to get worse looking at trends and knowing the insider knowledge of business shenanigans that's been going on. I want to give the benefit of a doubt that this is just an era of pooness but I'm losing faith the more poop that poos out of the poopshoot of the world's corporate greed poopholes. Too graphic? Nah....
But overall, I definitely feel that the hardest verdict is the coasters between the two parks, but I definitely feel that Alton Towers is the better of the two as it has more thoughtful design approaches in the storytelling (theming). Thorpe seems to be like the UK's SixFlags while Alton is like the UK's Disneyland, so ya know.... on those standards.... Yeah, Alton Towers.
But really, the TRUE winner is the London Resort Theme Park. THAT is the best.... Oh, wait..... *runs away from the pitchforks and torches*
hi love your videos thanks
Great video!
amazing how you managed to review a 10 minute vid in 1 minute!! 🎉
@@JesseAsh3005 it's called being supportive! 🥰
Last time I went to Thorpe (Last october) they had dispatch times of 8 minutes per train... You got stacked in the final brake run. Stealth only operated 3 hours a day... So I wonder with this experience if the operations at Alton Towers are really that much worse then this, or that Thorpe really have improved their operations. (I send a complaint about it directly to Merlin).
I haven't been to alton towers since those people got hurt some years ago. I've always had a fear around it lol. Thorpe has always been my favourite due to stealth, colossus, swarm and nemesis.
I went yesterday with my girl and because of the wind they gave us free tickets back, plus free fast track
Don’t worry! The smiler incident can’t NEVER happen again due to the amount of security enhancements in the past 9 years in all of the coasters!
Opened a can of worms here pal 😂😜
Which is better Dan what you prefer
Despite all it's failings, Alton Towers is just iconic!
I love your videos
Underrated :) but Thorpe park wins cause flying fish
Nah Towers does because of Octonauts
Nvm I forgor abt the Duplo Dino coaster in Legoland, instant top 1 💀

Alton towers is stunning and Iconic , Especially my ride in 2018 from my town to the park and seeing cooling towers for the first.
U DESERVE 50K!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm at Alton towers for 2 days omg Galactica is insane along With the smiler wicker man themeing awesome tomorrow oblivion, thirt33n, spin ball and Galactica again and them might do wicker man again
You should do Chessington versus Poulton’s Park
Dan deserves a diamond playbutton
🙏🏻🙏🏻
I never knew that christmas sponsers towers, they should have a smiller claus
Were u at Leeds fest looked like I in tpd TV video
I wish there was another thrill theme park in the UK we could debate about 😩
Gotta love Towers
My first big theme park was Alton towers and my mum through me on nemissis which was my first big rollercoaster I was terrified for the rest of the day
Early😂 1st (I think). Imo I like both parks not one more than the other
I've been to Alton towers 9 times and Thorpe park once Tbh I think Alton towers is still amazing it never gets old especially waiting on the que for the rides and the adrenaline kicks in is amazing ,but Thorpe park you don't really get that feeling and tho it's a bit bigger than flamingo land without the zoo, it's like waiting at the checkout to pay for your stuff .that's my opinion.
Video Idea: go round alton towers with a spinner wheel that chooses the strides like you did with chesington and Thorpe park
Another thing to consider is that Thorpe is close to London while Towers isn't that close to major cities
So you’re just going to pretend that Stoke, Birmingham, Walsall, Wolverhampton, and Leicester don’t exist?
@@TheOfficialSmudgy It's really only close to Stoke, Birmingham is over 1h 30mins away. So imo it's easier to get to Thorpe due it is meaning right next to Heathrow and Greater London. Also anyone coming internationally would have a harder time getting to Towers.
@@TheOfficialSmudgy Towers may be close to these cities, but have you tried getting public transport from any of these into Alton Towers before? It's practically impossible! I think there's a single bus that goes to Alton Towers once a day, and 2 on the way out.
@@kingdomofportugal-brazil Thorpe is a 1:30 drive from Central London with traffic
@@mollieyay as a local I see this as an absolute win as we have already seen that Merlin doesn’t care about limiting the amount of people within Towers so the less public transport the better as it’s the only way the queues won’t be ridiculous
I was at Alton towers yesterday and I was in the queue for smiler and a little kid wasn't tall enough to ride so he pulled the fire alarm so everyone got evacuated from the queue.
Dan: Thorpe has better events by a bit.
A little thing called Scarefest: I’m here, you know?
🎉your are great
Towers all the time. Love From staffordshire
also the mini pirate ship and the egg veiwing
Alton towers I just find Thorpe park too small. I prefer the rides the enchanted woods was an amazing stay overnight with the restaurant food actually really really good. Alton Towers is way way more friendly. The last time I went to Thorpe park there was a stabbing 😢 my daughter was put off and doesn’t want to go back. We love Alton and have been 4 times in the last year! Love it
I like Thorpe park because it’s got more intense rides like swarm saw and stealth nemesis inferno and colossus also with hyperia coming soon will make the park so much better
Dan help us shockwave is getting turned into a sit down coaster!!😢
I can’t believe shockwave is getting converted to a sit down next year :(
I have to go for Thorpe personally. The rollercoasters are better in my opinion, and I’d rather not go on a 3 mile hike to get to the next ride
Can you please do the new build challenge in Legoland where Viking river rapids
Please
1:18 wood man moment
Thorpe Park by far. Less queues, better coasters, less walking, better theming, better events, better dark rides
And flat rides
And hyperia in 2024
I would say Thorpe park as there are a lot of unique themes and there’s a new ride being built
I feel like towers is objectively better cause it is just bigger in size and amount of rides but thorpe has been better as of recent cause of things like operations and I think thorpe has been managed better since the pandemic
Digital Dan > jacksilkstone
Ive never been to Thorpe, but ive been to Alton Towers many many times, and honestly it is the best park ever, it feels more friendly than Thorpe too.
Thorpe is amazing! but i just love Alton Towers,
In my opinion Alton Towers is better!
dan you need to do black pool pleasure beach vs towers (i choose towers )
"Those two rides, beautiful creations."
Me: Yeah, my favourite boi, Nemesis Sub Terra, is such a *beautiful boi.*
You should do Alton towers vs draton manor
Although I’m closer to Thorpe than I am towers, after going there recently I must say towers is better. It’s bigger so it does mean a lot of walking which is the only negative thing in my opinion.
Never been to Thorpe park but towers has got something for the whole family as Thorpe parks more just thrill rides however Thorpe park have some very good rides like stealth and Saw But Alton towers Have Oblivion And smiler And don't forget the best coaster at Alton towers wickerman( Edit: ive been to thorpe park now and i say there both as good as each other ngl
towers, and ive only been once (4 hour drive) and ive been to thorpe park many times. theres just so much themeing at towers and just better rides in general.
i cant really join the debate because i haven't been to Thorpe park yet but i cant wait to go to Blackpool pleasure breach in 6 days time!!!!
Yess so glad Alton towers one 😅
Should do chesington vs something else next
Towers used to be phenomenal. Nemesis loaded and unloaded in a matter of seconds. Other rides aren’t like that anymore. And food there is.. well we don’t talk about that. But Thorpe next year. Off the charts
I’m so bored of Thorpe.. it’s the closest to me of the two so I think I’ve just been too many times and it’s all just been the same line up. The coasters at Towers are just SO much more innovative too. I went with my friend last week and we rode wickerman for the first time in years as it was closed last time we went. We loved it so much, we are going back at the end of the month to ride it all day 😂 I wouldn’t do that with any of the coasters at Thorpe
The queue times at Towers are an utter joke though
Thorpe Park!!!
Seems that Merlin are putting more money into Thorpe Park, LegoLand and Chessington at the moment, while seeming to forget about Alton Towers.
Is nice to see them invest in Chessington a little more as it's been slowly getting a little run down.
Seems when they invest in Alton Towers the other parks suffer for it, and then the other way around, with Alton Towers now suffering with a lack of TLC, but that's just my thoughts on the matter.
Also with Alton Towers having a lot more in the way of restrictions to what they can do, means it often takes longer for them to get new rides in, as they have to work around them, while Thorpe Park can do what they want. Just imagine what Alton Towers could do, if they didn't have to deal with the height restrictions forced on them, and what rides they could come up with
its only gonna be close for once because when he next does it we'll probably have our new nemesis and horizon already, but at the same time thorpe will have exodus. Still I think if he does another in the future towers will still win.
theming at Thorpe is AMAZING. Look at saw and walking dead
I must say I do prefer Alton towers only because it has something for everyone. CBeebies land for the little ones, family coasters (wiker man and 13), thrill coasters and even stuff for those who don’t like roller coasters like the small rides and the retro squad (that most people hate including myself)
cool
