I agree 100% Apparently it’s down to how BT transmits and the support each car has to allow BT to work. The BT module does exist that could work with many vehicle BT stereos, but it is expensive, which will push the price of the unit up and make it less appealing.
Sorry I couldn’t test this because you need to splice the camera cable with your reverse cable in the car. Something I wasn’t prepared to do on a fairly new vehicle. It’s a shame that it only way it detects and displays the camera this way.
I just ran it straight to the edge of the windscreen, across to the passenger side and down the side and into the footwell, then back to the centre area where my 12v socket is. So viewing from the front of the display the cable looks hidden.
That’s common. Try to find a frequency that is free from any stations and tune into that. Also other things in the car could add to this static. Overall though, AUX is the better connection if you have that ability.
it would be nice if the port were on the back of it … aka better wire management also… why wouldn’t they have another usb port on the power adapter itself
I believe they will be doing better cable management in new future updates of this product. As for no USB port on the adapter. I agree it should have. Maybe it’s needs all the power from the 12v port and can’t show any more output from that adapter. You do have one on the display you can use but that’s more messy cables 🙃
The camera would just use your existing stereo display. Which is probably for the best anyway. I don’t think you can have it display on the coral display, not without some rewiring
How does this hook up with the reversing camera?. I read it turns to camera view when it detects when you go into reverse gear. How does it detect this? Is there some type of connection for you to do for that to work? Can you show what is required to make this work please? Thanks
So I’ve not tried this myself because I don’t want to cut into wires of a new’ish car. But you have to splice into the power cable of the reverse light cable. So once you go into reverse it detects the power going to the light and this current triggers the reverse camera feed. I couldn’t mimic this without a voltage machine to mirror the current to trigger the camera. So that’s why I couldn’t show it in action.
My car stereo only tunes at a .2 clip. Meaning I can't find a frequency with no station or static. And, there is no AUX port in the car. Any ideas? I have a 2015 Ford Fusion.
Does it have BT audio input? There will be a newer model out in a few months with dual BT for BT audio. Also the FM module might be strong enough to knockout an active FM frequency, but I’ve yet to try that.

Is there video out in the cable that goes to the aux input of the car. My car has A/V input so wondering if you can video out to my built in car screen.
That’s depends where the usb c adapter is being plugged into. If the coral display then it wouldn’t work. If your car can play audio through a usb c connection then maybe if you get the right 3.5mm to USB.C adapter.
I’m wondering if you can install me on Jaguar XK 2007? I don’t think my aux works on my car at the moment or maybe when bought it didn’t include it properly.

@@CarPlayLife Thanks! Also appreciate the great content. From your experience, is there any conceivable way to retain steering controls? I’m thinking of picking one of these up for my Honda Civic 2014 ex and was curious if there was a solution. I would most likely be going the AUX route.

If I want to listen to the FM channels on my car's radio while navigating using the console, can my radio still play my desired FM channels if I connect the console to the car using Aux cable? And will the navigation app sound come out from the console or the car's speakers?
you can run the console and FM together, the audio from the console will only come through FM or AUX, and only when the stereo is toggled to the connection you have the console outputting audio to. If Aux is used unless the stereo is switched to AUX you won't hear navigation on the console. The best-case scenario for that is to listen to FM music and turn FM and AUX off on the console and have the console speaker give you navigation sound.
How is the sound? When you lower the volume in your car, will you still hear the sound of the system itself? Or does the system itself not output audio when it’s connected over FM or aux.

So in June last year, I bought the original Coral Vision (sadly, it was sold for the same amount as the pro version $350) before you posted this review of the Pro version. It works fine for navigation (Android Auto - Waze) but has a few flaws (1) the settings (including night/day mode, time zone, brightness, and volume) can't be changed from the default settings, so I always have to run it in night mode all the time. (2) the BT hijacks my car pairing with my phone, so preventing me from answering my calls directly from my car's head display, and the only way to stop this is by totally unpairing the Coral with my phone (3) the music menu (Amazon music/Spotify) doesn't keep a record of track history or playlists. (4) no software update (agreed, this might not be possible for any third-party instrument). (5) very noticeable static sound (I always connect via AUX cable for loud sound or to prevent interferences from FM radio stations). Does anyone find some of these problems in this pro version reviewed here? Thank you.
Is it possible to control the device with a car's onboard controls? I know this would require Bluetooth I believe, and the device not having a second connection has me doubting it, unless you could maybe have your phone connected to your cars Bluetooth and have it wired to the unit?
I recorded a video on looking into this. I got it working with stereo BT connected to the phone to control via the wheel. And enabled CarPlay before this to get content from the same iPhone on screen. The downside is audio is going to stereo and not via the CarPlay console, so navigation would occur over the onboard speaker which is a bit quite over music playback, but you do then have wheel controls. I hope that makes sense. If the video I shot makes sense I’ll publish it on the channel.
Did you try to connect this screen for wireless carplay and also use the bt to connect the car's headunit for music? Because I already ask the seller.they said you can use the bt to connect the screen and also connect the bt headunit for play music. Is it work?
It’s odd they are saying this as it only has one BT module and there is no interface to connect to a device for audio output. Only BT devices for input. Maybe they miss understood. You can only output audio via FM transmission or AUX cable.
I mean your phone setting.you can connect the screen and go to phobe's bt setting and only enabled the calls and contact and off the audio. Can you only power it by a 12V port? I have an old Chevy truck & it has no connection ports whatsoever. I’m guessing it doesn’t have a on/off switch? Is there any workaround for this or anything I can buy separate that can allow me to get this product? Thanks in advance!
I’m no expert at this but an installer should be able to give you better advice. I thought you could splice the power cable in with a power line behind your dash, but that would always power it, draining the battery, unless you choose a cable that only gets power on ignition. The cable will need to be a 12v power line though at least.
I have the Car & Driver Intellidash, which is basically the exact same thing, but with only wired CarPlay. Earlier reviews of Coral Vision mentioned long boot up time for wireless CarPlay. This pro unit mentions faster boot up. Do you think that is true?
You can see the boot up in the video. But it is faster for sure. CarPlay boots up fast too once paired with the iPhone. More so if you use the cable. I might release the in car demo footage in its entirety. Rather than the silent highlights in this video.
It's handled via a settings menu, but when in CarPlay it should also operate automatically if you have Dark mode set to automatic based on time of day.
I don’t think the original is capable of updates in the same way this new one can and does. Yes fast shipping is extra plus risk of customs duty in the U.K.
It is quite power hungry so lighter socket is the most universal way to get that amount of power. Most car USB ports are not powerful enough to drive something like this.
That's true. It was due to the power module, apparently, and it would make the display thicker if it came out the back, but I think that would have been acceptable. Some other brands have tackled this on theirs. I am sure we will see this addressed in newer future models.
That's possible. The experience isn't quite the same. But certain countries are beginning to crack down on using mobiles or even interacting with them whilst stationary on the road, for now, CarPlay is an acceptable way to interact with your iPhone in an environment that's safe for you and others whilst driving, with a display and interface that's tailored for driving too.
Pls make a video how to fix apple carplay + spotify when i start recording only 1 speaker works. How to fix it for my innova crysta Facelift from india 🇮🇳
Looking at getting one 100%. My only question is, if i connect to Apple Carplay through wired connection but have the sound through aux, not the fm transmitter. If i make a call, will it still come through my stereo system like on loudspeaker? Looking to adding it to my Vauxhall Insignia 2014, got a screen system in but was a model before they added carplay. Thanks in advance, brilliant review👍🏼
Hi. Yes, as long as you have your iPhone connected to it and it’s running CarPlay. All calls will come through the coral display meaning call sound will come through either the built in speaker on the display, or through car speakers either via FM or Aux input. Hope this helps.

@@JordanLevi149 You can connect the iPhone to your car's BT and get audio from your iPhone over your car speakers, but any content from CarPlay displayed on the display console will come through the internal speaker. Hi is it possible for you to do a review on the 'Coral Vision CarPlay Wireless Lite'. I am looking to buy it on the coral website but it states that they plan to release it at the end of 2021? Are you able to contact them to see when it will be available to purchase? Also do you know in the future if they plan on doing a unit that has a 10 inch display?
Hi. I have the lite version here for review. I should have it up on the channel either this week or next week, if all goes well. 🤞🏻 I’ve not heard any plans for a bigger display yet. If anything, we might see a more narrower, wider console in the future. Similar to wide, but narrow in height of the Merc or Audi displays
@@CarPlayLife Thanks, I just want to compare it to some aftermarket screens you get on the bmw 1 series in terms of how fast the processor is, the resolution of 600p is better then most of the widescreen bmw aftermarket units which are 480p. Hopefully in the future they are able to make 720p or 1080p with the widescreen 10” or 11” display 🤞
@@CarPlayLife Thanks. The next feature they need to add is a wireless connection to the rear camera to make rear camera installation easier. Do you know of any wireless CarPlay units that already do this?
None that I know of that are connected to a full CarPlay screen. Usually wireless cams like that need to be spliced to a power source at the rear to operate. That worry’s me a bit to do that.
Hey nice review, i have a quick question though. When the android screen is on while the car engine is not running, and in that situation if we turn the car engine on, the fixed stereo turns off for a few seconds and will turn back on and i am hoping the android screen does the same off and On by default. But when the Android screen turns back On after we start the engine, will the screen again take like 25 seconds to boot up or will it just be ready like the default stereo does?
As long as this display is still getting power when the ignition is half way on (power but no engine running) this console will remain powered and functioning. I hope I have understood your question.
@@poudi8 I know. It’s a shame. But like you said, one wired and other wireless will work fine. You can have multiple it just doesn’t allow you to do it quickly. It’s a bit long winded.
I don’t think android auto supports this other than the default left and right split music and nav panels (if that’s what you mean?) But I think that’s down to what version of AA they run on it.
Love your improvement comments, this unit is exactly what I've been wanting but just slightly misses the mark. I think some of the things you've mentioned are the main reasons I can't hand over that much money even though it is so close. Cables out the back are a must or some kind of 2 piece design where the cables are always attached to the vehicle and the display can be dropped in or removed like a Nintendo switch. The charger should just be a double ended usb c cable. And the Bluetooth should be at least 2 input and one output. Or one in and one in or out.
Hey! Thanks for the review!!! Do you think there is a way to circumvent the original charger using a 12v adapter with 2 USB ports, using a USB cable + adapter to power the unit? (not sure if I made myself clear) it looks like you were using some adapter to power the unit on you office ☺️.
Yes I know what you mean. And I did think this, but after speaking with them, they told me that the power cable has been slightly modified to profiled just over 12V to allow charging from the USB A port and stable functionality for the console. So I didn’t explore trying this method. You can charge and use it with a wall adapter. This is what I use as it also has the correct power IN connector for the console amzn.to/3wArWPS
Thanks for watching, and if you have any questions about the Coral Vision CarPlay Pro Complete Console, please let me know in the comments below. You can grab this console directly from the makers of it by clicking on my link here → bit.ly/carplaypro. There is no need for any compatibility questions. As long as you have an FM Radio, with or without an AUX input port in your vehicle, you can run this standalone console. It still requires an iPhone to connect to it and run CarPlay, or an Android to connect to it to run Android Auto.
Having the first model of the Unit for a few months now I have to agree with the unsightly cable situation and one way of solving that is to go with power supply via the hidden OBD plug instead of the lighter socket . Things are a bit more organised on LHD cars due to the sockets on the unit being on the left . My only wish is to improve the quality of the screen image 🙏🏼
@@CarPlayLife I got my screen from the UK and I had a choice of power from the lighter socket or the OBD . No the unit turns off when the ignition is not on . Unfortunately I got the wired model and hoped the screen will be good enough . I prefer the wired approach simply because the phone needs charging ( iPhone 7) and even if I had a wireless charging capable phone that still means adding a wireless charging pad/ holder which obviously needs a 12 volt supply ….. Such a vicious circle 🤔
First connect your iPhone to the Coral…second connect iPhone to your infotainment….set Bluetooth mode on the infoteinmant and voilá all will work with Bluetooth
Still not a great deal if you wanna install it on a CAD 2,000 car, the power should be done through a USB cable, having to use their own is a real let down too. THanks for the review.
Today it does. But this was one of the first to release so it’s rather dated now. Working with car system BT has been a real challenge apparently. Even those that say they come with BT audio don’t work on the car BT audio systems that I’ve tried it with. So that’s why we’ve not seen it commonly used still today.
Dumb, it uses outdated FM Transmission to connect to your Cars Audio System instead of Bluetooth and no Audio in to hook up a older MP3 Player that has no Bluetooth.
You can dim the display brightness from the top menu on the Home Screen (next to internal speaker volume). Matched with iOS dark mode it can look pretty dim.

That's true. It was due to the power module, apparently, and it would make the display thicker if it came out the back, but I think that would have been acceptable. Some other brands have tackled this on theirs. I am sure we will see this addressed in newer future models.
one question.... why don't you just mount your 6" iPhone to your windscreen?
That's possible. The experience isn't quite the same. But certain countries are beginning to crack down on using mobiles or even interacting with them whilst stationary on the road, for now, CarPlay is an acceptable way to interact with your iPhone in an environment that's safe for you and others whilst driving, with a display and interface that's tailored for driving too.
Everything is fine, but you not needed internet in yours phones?
Unless you download offline maps or store offline music in your music apps you will likely need an internet connect on your phone.
@@CarPlayLife thats brilliant then. Can i connect to the display through the iphone cable, and then just connect to my cars bluetooth for audio so all the audios over bluetooth or is that not possible?

@@JordanLevi149 You can connect the iPhone to your car's BT and get audio from your iPhone over your car speakers, but any content from CarPlay displayed on the display console will come through the internal speaker. The display can't output BT, it only has BT input. So it can't directly connect to your car BT, which is coming in a future model in 2-3 months time.
I’ve not heard any plans for a bigger display yet. If anything, we might see a more narrower, wider console in the future. Similar to wide, but narrow in height of the Merc or Audi displays
@@CarPlayLife look forward to seeing the video, love the content on your channel 👍🏽
@@leryeo Great! Thank you so much 😊
Also any idea what is the speed of the cpu and size of the ram?
I've asked them so I'll let you know if I get a response to that question.
Hi where did you buy the unit and how much?
Link to buy the product is in the video description or click here bit.ly/wirelessproa
Thanks for the video. Have you seen any similar units that have both input and output bluetooth?
I have two other brands coming for review soon and there will be a dual BT model coming from Coral Vision around July/August
@@CarPlayLife Got it, exactly what i wanted to know, thanks for the info.
Have you tested it working with the iOS 15 beta yet? Thanks
The whole video was shot using iOS 15 Beta 🙃
@@CarPlayLife Very kewl. I have seen others that fail with the iOS 15 betas.
That’s strange. Maybe it’s the copycat device that you saw. I hear that device is riddled with problems.
Does it support multiple users?
Sadly it doesn’t. You would have to cancel Bluetooth or WiFi on the device it has connected to and re-pair the other device in order to swap devices.
@@CarPlayLife Well that’s not really convenient. What if one user use it wired and the other wirelessly?
@@poudi8 I know. It’s a shame. But like you said, one wired and other wireless will work fine. You can have multiple it just doesn’t allow you to do it quickly. It’s a bit long winded.
Your link to buy the product is going to a different product on Alibaba by the way.
No, that’s correct? 🧐
@@CarPlayLife Here in the US the short link was going to a detail window sale until about 10 minutes ago. Very odd
That’s very odd. Must be a glitch in the Matrix 🙃
Possible to make it split screen?
I mean in Android auto
Thanks. Let’s hope they listen and bring these changes to their 3rd generation of this product. 🤞🏻
Does it receive radio stations?
No your car FM stereo would do that, or you can run a radio streaming app on Android Auto or CarPlay to get internet radio stations.
Hi I have a CarPlay unit - the unit plays the music but it is not going through the car speakers ? Any idea what I could be doing wrong ?
Thanks for watching, and if you have any questions about the Coral Vision CarPlay Pro Complete Console, please let me know in the comments below. You can grab this console directly from the makers of it by clicking on my link here → bit.ly/carplaypro.
There is no need for any compatibility questions. As long as you have an FM Radio, with or without an AUX input port in your vehicle, you can run this standalone console. It still requires an iPhone to connect to it and run CarPlay, or an Android to connect to it to run Android Auto.
Where do you get the firmware update for the pro version?
Do you know that there is one? I don’t think they have released any yet.
@@CarPlayLife No I don't, but was curious where to check to see if there is one.
So I take it there is no go to support site for this unit to find out if there is new firmware?
Wish this came in a 10" size
Yes that would be good. I have a 10” display on the way with a built in dash cam. So expect that review sometime in early Jan
Great review!
Thank you thanks for watching 🙏🏻😊
Having the first model of the Unit for a few months now I have to agree with the unsightly cable situation and one way of solving that is to go with power supply via the hidden OBD plug instead of the lighter socket . Things are a bit more organised on LHD cars due to the sockets on the unit being on the left . My only wish is to improve the quality of the screen image 🙏🏼
Yes OBD would be a good way to do it. But isn’t this socket always powered?
As for the screen. Did you get the wired version of the original console?
@@CarPlayLife I got my screen from the UK and I had a choice of power from the lighter socket or the OBD . No the unit turns off when the ignition is not on .
Unfortunately I got the wired model and hoped the screen will be good enough . I prefer the wired approach simply because the phone needs charging ( iPhone 7) and even if I had a wireless charging capable phone that still means adding a wireless charging pad/ holder which obviously needs a 12 volt supply ….. Such a vicious circle 🤔
Always thumbs up
Great 👍 job
Thank you and thanks for watching.
Yes I agree. But I think driving a display like this from a low powered 5W port isn’t enough. It will still have to come from a 12v adapter.
@@CarPlayLife I am still thinking to buy it and was wondering how much RAM does it have? Is this a review of "Coral Vision Wireless Pro A" ?
@@mohammedosman88 yes this is the Pro A I don’t know the ram size. Sorry.
Really seems like a fail to not have Bluetooth
Today it does. But this was one of the first to release so it’s rather dated now. Working with car system BT has been a real challenge apparently. Even those that say they come with BT audio don’t work on the car BT audio systems that I’ve tried it with. So that’s why we’ve not seen it commonly used still today.
Hi friend , we have motocycle and car Carplay and Android Auto device , if you are interesting make video ?
Possibly. Please email us a link to the products contact@carplaylife.com
Sad no netflix n Disney
Yes, unfortunately 😔
Make sure don’t don’t leave that in the car, it’ll get pinched in a heartbeat
Like the good old sat nav days. 😊
Dumb, it uses outdated FM Transmission to connect to your Cars Audio System instead of Bluetooth and no Audio in to hook up a older MP3 Player that has no Bluetooth.
FM allows for a wider userbase. I’m sure we will see BT audio output in future models.
this is rubbish at night you can't drive with this light in your face there's no way to dim the light
You can dim the display brightness from the top menu on the Home Screen (next to internal speaker volume). Matched with iOS dark mode it can look pretty dim.
